You should definitely watch Empress Ki, that was the drama that introduced me to Ji Chang-wook. I started watching it for Ha Ji-won who is one my favourite actresses but I ended up falling for him too and loving both of them together.

I saw this in Instagram and I'm just wondering what's this all about since the IG owner hashtagged our Hyo Joo. Can someone please enlighten us? Hehe thank you very much in advance! :)

It seems this has something to do with the Baeksang Art Awards since that's the other word that was hashtagged. Maybe she was nominated for something. There isn't much information in the picture other than when the award is holding, the location of the award, the broadcaster (JTBC), the hosts Suzy and Park Joong-hoon,and the social sites affiliated like Twitter and Facebook, Naver Tv etc.

  3. I got so emotional watching this episode. When I first heard Eric was joining WGM, I was really excited because I saw how he always said he wanted to comfort Yura when he was on the studio panel, for some reason he struck me as someone who would be a good husband even though I wasn't really a fan of his work nor did I know him very well. When they announced that Solar would be his wife, I was confused because I had never heard of her before now, I went to look up Mamamoo and watched a couple of their videos. I was so amazed at how talented they were and how beautiful Solar is, so I was willing to give them a chance. As they started, I was a little let down that they weren't so romantic but after a while, I quickly adjusted my expectations because I was determined to watch Eric on WGM. I grew to like Solar after because I realized that she and I are similar in very many ways, the same reason why I like Kim So-eun. I didn't think them leaving would make me emotional but I feel like I might actually cry when their last episode airs. The last time I cried over a WGM couple ending was Leeteuk and Kang Sora. I'm really happy that I watched them because I found out new things I would like to do if I get married. Because of them, I want to throw shoes in the park with my husband and play pranks on each other and build furniture with him and try new things and stupid things. They really made me happy with their relationship and even if everyone else says they were boring, I don't care. I don't wish for them to date in real life because that will be too much to ask, but I wish that they can continue to be friends and Yong-seon can continue to know that there's someone other than Mamamoo members who is willing to take her side no matter what. And that Yoon-do can know that there's always someone willing to make him smile when he's feeling down, I hope that they can continue to be friends forever.

I knoow right! *let me give you a hug chinguu* .. not that I'm questioning HS love definitely not, but it sure will be nice if they also show when exactly did HS fall or realizes the exact moment like WS does

Hae Soo started loving him when he came to visit her in prison even after he was poisoned. She said in her soliloquy that if he continues to do this for her, her heart will waver toward him.

    @violet90

She is smart, very smart which is why I grudgingly admired her during the poison plot because she managed to outmaneuver Queen Yo and everyone else. In fact, I always got the feeling that the writer liked YH quite a bit because if we go by Bellatrix's article then there were scenes which justified YH apparently. Thankfully, they didn't add it because I don't think Ill be able to swallow that stupid justifications for her crimes.

I agree with you, she is worse than Wook because Wook had a bit of conscience left in him since he seemed genuinely distressed by Eun's death but YH had nothing. KH has done pretty good job in making YH sympathetic to many but I credit that to the fact that her character was given better back story which gave KH more to work with, she really emphasized on the point that YH was helpless due to her family and marriage. But for me, I could never ever be able to justify YH's crimes neither Wook's but I think he pretty much got whatever he deserved at the end by losing everything including his children for the power he had once desired.

For me, her lonely and loveless life didn't mean much when I think that she did get what she wanted which was to be Queen. I really doubt the loveless marriage killed her much.

Ah-ha, Yes. Exactly, Su could have easily gotten all the power that YH wanted if only Su had been that ambitious but she wasn't and that's not her nature as well. The PD or writer or whoever it was did good on showing the differences between YH and HS in many ways at times. And it's exactly like you said, he loved Su because of this too and there's nothing YH could ever do that can match up to HS in any way for him because Su was the one who was there from the start till the end even if they were apart. She loved him and cared for him, just him, no matter which version of him it was.

I think Yeon-hwa was a strong character too. She is ambitious, yes, but it wasn't without reason. Unlike Queen Yoo who was motivated purely by greed, Yeon-hwa was motivated by fear. The fear of not having a choice in what kind of life she lives, the fear of being hunted down like an animal because she is powerless, the fear of being abused, these are all issues she, as a woman in Goryeo, had to face. Queen Yoo had her family banished into exile for a crime they didn't commit and didn't leave them alone even while they were in exile. Yeon-hwa talks about how Queen Yoo almost had them killed so many times and how they had to fear for their lives. Her brother was seemingly content to let these things happen so she took up the mantle to find a way to defend her family. I am not excusing her arrogance and the evils she committed but I am seeing how life must have been for her in that time. Let's not forget that Soo was a 21st century woman, she lived in a century where royalty meant nothing and people were seemingly equal on the surface, hence she doesn't possess the ruthlessness that is required for a woman to be seen as someone in Goryeo, this in the end became her undoing because all the strange things that she experienced became too much for her and it made her sick and eventually killed her. If Yeon-hwa was a 21st century woman who did all the things that she did in Goryeo, then she will be evil without a fault, but at the end of the day, she was only trying to survive.

Looking from the different point of view, HS indeed has a great life! XD

    Hae-soo
The woman who taught Wang Eun how to be mature
The woman who exposed Wang Wook for the cowardly, liar he really was
The woman who loved Wang So more than anyone in the world and showed him he was worthy of being loved in return
The woman who taught Wang Jung what it means to be selfless.
The woman who taught Wang Baek-ah the true meaning of friendship, a great friend till the end
The woman who won a special place in Wang Moo's heart by being a healer, a friend, and a confidante
What a great life she lived.

  7. This couple should be named the mukbang couple, they're always eating something. There's a lot of people who are complaining about Eric and Solar not being very lovey-dovey with each other but as for me, their relationship is perfect. I've always dreamed that if I get married, I would like to have more of a friendship with my husband. We can do silly things together and laugh at each other and play pranks but also have our little romantic moments. People think marriage is of only one type, they type where you look into each other's eyes all the time and say all sorts of mushy, cringe-worthy things but what happens when the passion dies? It's important to build a long-lasting friendship with your partner and that's the kind of relationship I see Yoon ddong and Yong ddong portraying. I hope that even after the show ends, they can still be very good friends with each other.

Also, did anyone else think that massage in the bedroom was a little racy? What's with all the weird noises they were making? Especially Yong ddong. Lol.

  8. I really like Solar, she reminds me a lot of Kim So-eun. I can totally understand her reactions to all the random skinship the panel tries to get them to do. She seems like the type to get flustered easily, I noticed it from the first episode when Eric wiped her mouth while they were eating. The freezing up isn't a sign of her not liking him, it's just a reaction that people like us (people who get flustered easily) get when someone randomly gets in our personal space. I've noticed on some other comments that people seem to think Solar isn't into Eric and they may start saying mean things about her . I'm sure there are other viewers who understand how Solar must be feeling. She's not like Jin-kyung who gives as much as she gets or Cao Lu who takes charge when it comes to skinship. I feel like she's a little more conservative when it comes to things like that and the fact that Eric grew up in a western culture makes her shyness a little more obvious.

  9. People who are saying they've never seen this kind of story before need to go and watch the writer's previous dramas, Queen In-hyun's Man and Nine. This drama is closer to Queen In-hyun's Man than it is to Nine. In QIHM, the male lead travels back and forth in time at the moment when his life is in danger. QIHM is one of my favourite dramas ever and the OTP's chemistry is one of the best I have ever seen.

For some reason I find Solar's reaction to Eric a bit odd. I know the caption states "Aww ... Thank you." The panel members are talking about Eric more or less not paying attention/being in his own little world but then he grabs the packet from Solar to wrap it in a tissue thus the expression (below).

I think she was shocked at how easily he took it from her without even looking at her, like it was the most natural thing for him to do. I don't find it odd though since they just met and there are some cultural differences between them.

  11. I love Mamamoo as a group, they all have such strong vocals and they kind of remind me of Christina Aguilera when they sing especially Hwasa. One of the things I like the most about them is how carefree their stage performances are. They always look like they're having fun and not working. Their friendship shows too. I just started listening to them recently before now, their only song I knew was Love Lane because of Marriage Not Dating. I really like Solar, we have a lot in common and are the same age. I think she's the perfect fit for Ricnamnim.

@sanaeozora you're analysis is great thanks:) but as @larienssi said:

this what i feel too. not that i said si jin not serious with his feelings but before this he know about it but kinda avoid to deal about this aspect. so i hope next ep will deal with how they stick together as a couple despite any problem and confront with this issue. but i like the flirty and playfulness in his character. also his cheesy dialogues:P totally different from the usual broody and cold but heart of gold chaebol hero. and no matter what, i love si jin and mo yeon so much and i'm their hardcore shipper:wub:

This is also another characteristic of Kim Eun-sook's men. They are usually the type to buy into the 'love conquers all' idea. They choose to ignore everything else and go for what they believe. It's why her women are usually the ones doubting and thinking things through and holding back. In AGD, in SeGa, in Heirs the men fell in love and were willing to go for it forgetting everything else but the women think things through, they weigh the pros and cons of loving their men. They are more rational so they usually end up taking their time to admit their feelings.

  13. As a long time Kim Eun-sook fan, I've noticed something about her men. They never let their women go until the woman herself says she doesn't want to have anything to do with them anymore. Even in Heirs (forgive me if this gives you bad memories) Tan makes sure that he searches for Eun-sang until he finds her and doesn't let her go until she told him that she didn't want to see him anymore. Also, her men are usually extremely protective of their women. In the scene where Young-do locked Eun-sang up in the broadcast room, Tan looked like he was ready to end Young-do if he laid a finger on her. The jokester Yoo Si-jin who even manages to make jokes about his own life is fiercely serious when it comes to the woman he loves. I think it's a testament to how deep the love Kim Eun-sook's men feel for their women are.
