@yoeda The FTLY OST was magical and a great contributor to create the perfect atmosphere for that drama. Who do we blame for Family? I don’t know but I join you in the riot!

I have the urge to comment on one of the commentors that saying she/he doesn't watch FTLY Korean version yet. She/he love the original but feelin the actors for k version doesn't suit. I want to say go buddy tried first and you totally fall in a hole of emotion. :partyblob:

At this rate we just have to wait for JH new project but I put a little bit reserve with his choice of drama. lol. Do you think this is his worst project yet @dramafan33? I can't judge much since i really need to finish it first.

  2. @janghaesoo get well soon buddy.

So, the drama was over. who i need to slay for their incompetence, bad script and the wasting of the most amazing couple of all time? I have to admit I still stuck on episode 4. The child turn me off so much for me to carry on. But, I follow the spoiler regardless.

On the lighter note and for us to remember how good the Jjangs was as a couple.

    [OST Corner] Goodbye My Love

    by Unit

    My tears remember
    They fill up your space
It’s impossible to erase you, no matter how I try
    You’ve become my everything…

“Goodbye My Love” (from Fated to Love You) is one of the few OSTs that I knew about even before watching the drama. When I stumbled on the soundtrack and saw that it was Ailee’s, I just had to give it a listen because there was no way I was going to skip any Ailee OST after listening to her “Tears Stole the Heart” from Secret.

One of the reasons I love soundtracks more than regular songs is because I can connect them with a particular scene from the drama/movie they’re from, or to the show’s overall vibe. And whenever the soundtrack comes up in a playlist, I’m mentally back in the world of that drama.

With “Goodbye My Love,” I did not have that. I went in blind, but that didn’t stop me from being hit with a wave of sadness on my first listen. Subsequent listens — having checked out the lyrics, and with Ailee’s beautifully sorrowful voice in my ears — finally drove me to watch the drama almost a year later because I had to connect the OST with the drama. I just had to experience for myself the exact emotions that drove the song. And when I eventually did… gah!

This OST was specially reserved for heart-wrenching scenes in the drama like Lee Gun’s drive through the tunnel as he recovered his memories about Kim Mi-young and their baby, when Mi-young underwent that surgery, and later on when she finally learned why he pushed her away. While their world was falling apart in these moments, mine was falling into place, because finally, I could connect with the song, and it became all the more meaningful to me.

It’s been years, but this OST still leaves me with a gloomy feeling whenever I hear it. And you can be sure that I’m listening with my eyes closed and singing along like the only participant in a karaoke contest.

…you will think of me at least once
I hope you look back on us from time to time
That’s all I need until the day we meet again
I will wait, it’s only a momentary goodbye
    Goodbye my love.

Apparently Disney+ is having some issues with all overseas SK drama. Pandora latest episode hasn’t been aired since last weekend.

But still they keep promoting new drama for airing like Dr. Romantic. I wonder what's the problem.

Yes he said they have already agreed to do a historical drama within the next 5 years.

But it may just be polite talk ... so don't read too deep into it haha.. he said the same thing 9 years ago.

I need him in historical drama with Ha Ji Won as enemy to lovers. A bad@ss Queen from the North battle it out with a King from the South. No secret identity just hating each other to death with all the sexiness that they master. :poledance:

I think it's someone related to that Mark Shaw producer. They are responsible for the movie distribution in North America. They are always really nice to the fans and respectful to JH's work.

I totally trash SidusHQ based on my shallowness, I'm not mature :/ But they've really done a lousy job on Hyuk's career lately...

Not only Hyuk, I think they really had a hard time producing an actor or actress that have IT factor lately. Maybe coz of management change. There's no more newcomer in Sidus that had a big break compare to what SJK, Kim Woo Bin, Kim Yoo Jung or Kim So Hyun experience before. I look at the current actor that they have now, I don know most of them. Or mb I'm just getting old to know a new name.

Wow! Even SJK was from Sidus? I think Song Hye Kyo was too. His dragon Buddy KJK is a FA too right?

Say what we want about Sidus but they know how to produce a good star. Many A-lister today start from Sidus. But they really tank in producing idol, I think the most successful one was g.o.d. lol. I think KJK not a FA coz from his wiki page he's still in his agency since 2017? Not sure.

CTH is with Blossom agency. Unless Hyuk is joining him?

Still glad that he decided to take the risk to leave Sidus.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Family too.

I was thinking about that too! Guess you have contact him directly..*just kidding:lol:

Now his fixed routine of going exercising, work at his office and go back home will be different.

Oh please not Blossom! SJK flop really bad when he join after he part way with Sidus. After he became free agent his career start skyrocket again. I think Blossom play favoritism to their artist.

Somebody need to stalk his office address. For gift delivery purpose.

JH went to a restaurant and gave an autograph

    https://www.instagram.com/p/Cm_MCCCSqlp/

    Translation reads:

    Chuno.
He made so many great scenes and actions.
Our forever brother. Actor Jang Hyuk.

With his great acting skills, he's still in a good drama.
    It appears on the screen.
He came to our restaurant, which is like a small restaurant in the neighborhood.
    They gave us a meal.

As handsome as the real screen, and if he had a sharp impression in the past, now he shines with a serious look.

Anyway, I'm too shabby. I couldn't take a picture. But I got the autograph.

    Oh, I'm nervous. I'm nervous.^^

I couldn't tell you, but he said "Happy New Year."

The rare thing about JH was every fans that had encounter with him said he was handsome IRL. Maybe I'm bias but I rarely read or found other celeb had that praise apart from what the media/news boast. Well, beside Won Bin. lol

Finally! I've seen it. Just fresh 20 min ago. Now I'm in the cafe ordering a cup of latte like Ui Gang. :fullofhearts: I just love the action and the dry humor. There's something bothering me and made me wanna ask but I'm worried about the spoiler. Maybe latte (later...I don't know if this typo was unconscious mistake or whatever, Lol, I just leave it here) or any of you find it ok I put it in spoiler tag. Seeing JH in big screen for the first time really amazing and pabo me, I'm forgot to take picture. Lol.

Will be available soon; once it’s available on steaming it will come out fast, already seen it on Chinese websites. I would rather it not come out so soon actually but i guess they have given up on overseas box office too.

Agreed! Not until I watch it on the cinema first. It will kill the mood. :bawling:

@Biology LessonI know I'd feel embarrassed and grossed out if it happens but sometimes you can't control these things.

With the clip, he looked dapper and sexy (I do prefer him with some meat on his bones though the makeup is a lil too heavy) but I think it felt a bit slow, almost too intentional. And the music was overly dramatic/ totally giving me telenovela vibes. I guess I'm just hard to please. I need something a little more animated at least where he looks less numb / dead in the eyes because of his trauma. He needs to know he has power and should revel in it for it to be fun (for me)

Aside: I just checked KOFIC and yeah best not to look. The Killer has been reduced to just 60 screens with Crime City having over 100. I give up...hopefully they'll get a good streaming deal to recover another chunk of money. Presumably they get money from film fests? Hopefully, they get more invitations

Me too! I thought I'm the only one feel that way. Since you folk found it hot I never mention anything. Not bc Mal Ran was older but he know she was his stepmom that rub me in wrong way. :idk:

Have you guys watched John Wick? It has basically little plot with just lots of action / killing scenes. Personally I didn't enjoy it much, I would prefer more narrative / storyline, but apparently the US audience love it judging from its box office. I guess The Killer is trying to do the same.

As for comparing him to Tom Cruise, I guess it is because he also does his own stunts.

I enjoy JW mostly because Keanu Reeves and those headshot. It was a well made action film with all the gun fu thing. sometimes, simple storyline can relate more to audience than the heavy one.

I did watch the first John Wick, and I liked it- it gave us a good motivation in the cute puppy who was given to John by his dead wife, and from then on it was a simple plot and not super realistic as a thin justification for great action scenes. The second John Wick movie crossed the line to become over the top and plain stupid so I dropped the pranchise at that point.

One thing I think that everyone forgets is that it's box office returns were not that high- $86,013,056 worldwide. It was high for its budget of 20 millions, which made it successfull . No one paid too much attention to it when it first came out- I remember mocking reviews, but somehow it connected with people, and most viewers loved it. So to me it's kinda ridiculous how it suddenly became the bench mark for every action movie that comes out. The influence it had is undeniable, but we can't forget that John Wick itself was hardly original...

It can't be denied that JW had a good action sequence. Action movie nerd will totally blown away. Also JW was an R rating film so that 86mil consider a big success. If you watch the top 10 fight in action film video you'll find JW in every rating. So, I don't find it ridiculous. It introduce the Gun Fu term that I think Choi Jae Hoon also being inspired for The Killer.

@Prettysup I was also thinking about his hair and how fast it grows (when don’t we? One of his fandom’s favorite topic) I hope he looks gorgeous in NY but he tends to not trim his hair between works right? I think he likes to keep options open for the new character. We shall see! Looking forward to it!

That's why I little bit disappointed when he doesn't grew his hair when he filming BH. lol. Thing that bother me the most when watching saeguk was that fake topknot (not only his drama). :joy: He's the most beautiful when his hair was longer in saeguk like Chuno, My Country and SOGC. Coz the cordi had so many option to style the hair when it was long.

Lol yeah considering his investments, his math is shocking. But maybe he's including the planning stages in his calcs ie maybe there is a time lag between when they get an offer and when it all falls into place in terms of the shoot

It just him being the Ahjusshi that he is. Lost the track of time. :joy:

@yoeda But according to @janghaesoo he did mention it. I didn’t know they had those restrictions in SK TV

I think any country TV's drama was like that. Maybe mentioning in passing only. The only exception was the HUGEEE and consider a nation drama like Chuno. lol. Every station will play the Chuno theme when he appeared. :loolz: I don't care when the theme was played coz the music was so epic.

  17. @Biology Lesson my meaning is not for him necessarily taking a lead role. I want him in the drama with an establish actors as any character, leads or villain or second lead. Hence, I can even stand him sparring with Lee Byun Hun (mind you, I'm not his biggest fan) if I can watch 2 power acting clash. Working with juniors was good but at the end of the day, I'm afraid he'll be like PGW, so tired. lol. In BH, he not only working with someone new with saeguk, he also working with new director. Imagine how tired he felt to maintain the quality of his acting, made his character stand out also guiding some people around him. Fans kinda love BH directing but for me it was luckluster everywhere. The director has eyes for beautiful thing but sometimes character felt flat and the direction (especially action scene) was all over the place. I don know if she ever been an assistant PD before to gain experience first. Compare to BH director, MF also had new PD but she's been assistant PD way before she direct the drama. She was FTLY assistant PD if I remember correctly.

To answer your question, no I'll never watch the drama that both lead was so conflicted. Either it was the male lead or female lead that been corrupted. In contrast with that, they'll have the other half being too good to balance the flawed of other lead. The close example was the drama MF, PJ was really bad but Mo Hyun was really meek. But, the lead doesn't necessarily had to be conflicted or bad. Take FTLY, it was simple but both Gun and MY had strength that been admired by everyone. To convey that it took an actor like The JJangs to put layers on the character and made it well beloved.

Edit: I need to google back which director direct which. lol. Coz I'm always mistaken those two PD from BM and MF. :joy:

Pre-sold to 48 Countries, the World Responds to K-action Now

Actor Jang Hyuk’s action movie, THE KILLER _ A GIRL WHO DESERVES TO DIE, will be released simultaneously in Korea and North America on July 13. Prior to its release, the film was pre-sold to 48 countries, including Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Japan, Taiwan, Indonesia, etc. It is an indicator that can confirm the power of K-action beyond borders.

Malaysia always asleep on his film.:sad1: They'll only know that Lee Santa film. Even with pandemic, The Flu soar in Netflix view, but I don't think many ppl knew him here.

  18. That drama with JNR, I'm okay with something like Spy X Family. lol. Throw a cute kid to the mix like Anya.

I hope he'll stop receiving offer to act with younger actor either as villain or second lead for a while. It's good for them to learn but I want him to up his game too. Maybe I sound selfish but establish actor or veteran made him can do more without worrying how to guide others. Kinda like what he did in TWDR or BM. Han Suk Kyu and Heo Jun Ho was really good so he need to do better. It also a matter of improving oneself if you can go on par with your co-star.
