When Joon Young returns home he is completel exhausted and Jung Kyung is there asking: "What happened? Why was your performance uploaded in Professor Yoo's name?"

Joon Young: "It's not my performance. I will deal with this. It's my job, no matter if it right or wrong. Thank you for your concern but I'll ask you to never come by like this again."

Wait, she actually remained at JY’s apartment even after Song Ah confronted her about it? Wow! Just Wow! I’m glad at least that JY told her not to show up at his place again. I don’t know if she gets it though because she keeps disregarding his rejection.

  2. @rozelan, thanks for posting those gifs of our Dimples couple smiling. It feels like so long ago since they had a smile on their faces.

@nana4ever, I also thought that JY could have waited for Song Ah to arrive at the cafe but I wonder if he would have been of much consolation to her since what his professor did was probably such a surprise and disappointment to him. Yet, I still feel he should have waited. Only unless the professor was still at the school and he wanted to confront him ASAP.

Why was Jung Kyung leaving JY’s apartment so late at time? This girl is a trouble maker. JY already told her that they must never see each other again. Finding out that the professor betrayed JY shouldn’t be her cover to get back into JY’s life. I’m glad SA confronted her about her arrogance in coming to JY’s apartment as she pleases. I see in the preview she’s still trying to cause trouble with Song Ah. Hopefully JY will wake up after he realizes that Song Ah might truly walk away from him in tomorrow’s episode.

I’m glad that Song Ah dumped that awful professor. She’s indeed upset by this decision but in the long run I think it was a good decision. Obviously the professor had a different goal to what Song Ah was hoping for.

  3. @Jillia, thanks for that gif of JY confronting his mother. I would really like to know what’s her mindset. I understand that some parents in some cultures expect their kids to look after them but this is an extreme case of filial duty. JY doesn’t own anything from what he says. He doesn’t even have much money in the bank. How can a mother allow her child to live like this? Does she think he makes so much money that he could afford to endlessly support her husband’s financial woes? I honestly don’t get it. Most people want the best for their kids. Here it’s like JY is the parent supporting two kids.

I think she said to the director something like I've lost my talent, I've lost my mum, I threw away HH, I cannot lose JY. She's holding on to him as the only thing she has left. it's not true love. but oh. I have to say her prof is a piece of work too. her ego is like wow. when Jk said she did the lesson because she felt like she understood how Jiwon felt- Prof actually said to JK:" What? you think Jiwon is like *you*? no way... *she's* not gonna fail like you."  OUCH. and this is the woman who was smiling and being so nice to her all these years. the two profs are just the worst. I just want their academic career to crash and BURN pronto. wait. add JY's prof to the mix too. are there no decent teachers in this messed up school?!!?

Unfortunately I think these two miserable, awful professors will continue as they are. Like you, I would honestly love to see them fall. They must have been behaving this way for years now because their antagonistic relationship is notorious in the music circles on campus. Notice how HH realized right away why he was kicked out of the chamber orchestra group. Personally I think JK could become a good teacher. She seems to pay attention to the student and offer good instruction. Even JY’s piano instructor has a self-interest motive when taking JY as his student. They all suck.

  5. @joccu, yep, it was sad. I used to watch Ghost Whisperer back-to-back episodes on Saturdays and this kind of reminds me of that. I used to bawl my eyes out with that show. I saw the RAW last episode for this show and at the end, did they show that some kids has another Missing place besides the one where Wook and Mr. Jang stays? It looked that way.

Anyway, I’m waiting for subs but I’ve got to say that I admire OCN shows. They keep it real. We have a lot of sadness in the final episode but the show writers didn’t break the rules they set. Only dead people appear in the village through the light entrance. There’s no loop hole. The rule applies to every person who enters that way. So I’m glad they stuck to that rule. I’m also glad that Jong Ah didn’t turn out to be Mr. Jang’s kid. Only in drama shows that kind of thing happens and the writers chose not to do that but aim for something more realistic. My hats off to them. It was a melancholic and touching show.

  6. @Ameera Ali, as always, your gifs and their little anecdotes cracks me up.

    1. Will SA follow the noble idiocy route?

No. SA has proven that she’s someone who endures even when there’s little support and constant discouragement from others. Right now she’s facing pressure from both her music career and her romance so I understand it’s difficult for her. However, so far we have seen that what ever bothers her is eventually discussed by our Dimples couple. I’m hoping that the same will happen here. I don’t expect SA to give up so easily on this love because of the opinion of others. She’s not a person who acts rashly either. She also prefers to get hurt rather than being kept in the dark so I expect that she will do the same for JY and tell him what’s going on with her and they will be able to honestly discuss their relationship and its impact on both of their lives.

    2. Do we need a time skip?

No, please no time skip unless it’s at the end of the drama when perhaps we get a glimpse into their future life.

    3. What will JY’s answer be to Director Na (JK’s Grandma) as shown in the preview?

I voted no answer. I guess I think he will give her a diplomatic response instead of a direct “No”.

  7. Another solid season that I binge-watched in two days. I would have really like to have known what exactly is the truth behind the Segok suicide case though.

In all of these corrupt prosecutors and police officers, it’s good to see that not all of the people who make up the “so-called”justice system has lost their integrity. Shi-Mok and Yeo Jin continue to stand up for the integrity of their profession. I don’t necessarily think it’s “human” to do corrupt things though I know that there are powerful people or bold people who do these things. I honestly think most people are deterred from corruption because of the threat of prison, fines and other devastating consequences. Of course, it’s probably different for prosecutors and police because of the system that enables them to get away with these things and allows this problem to fester with the support of their equally corrupt top officials. I did hear a constitutional lawyer on a talk radio show say that there’s nothing more dangerous than a corrupt or “rogue” prosecutor because they have the power to destroy a person’s life. I suppose this is truthfully portrayed in this show.

Well, I hope there’s a season 3 soon although I suppose nothing about their justice system will change. I guess the thrill of watching this show for me really lies in unearthing the truth behind a complex web of conspiracy.

  8. The male lead seem to be getting lead roles but I hope his acting has improved since The Love of Two Minds where even his body actions were unnaturally stiff. I can’t believe he’s the same actor who was in 3L3W as BQ’s brother. In any case, I do like his looks so only his acting needs to get better. Despite all that, I’m giving this drama a try and I liked the first two episodes mainly because of the FL character and the actress.

The number of toxic people in this drama are crazy. So frustratingggfff:triumph:
SA was too gloomy and dispirited in these latest 2 eps.. and JY is facing more and more problems.. so sad :tears: our OTP is surrounded by all those awful circumstances, so please at least don’t give any room for misunderstanding between each other.. or else i can’t even imagine how more frustrating the story will go..

ITA. I just finished watching both episodes and I kept wondering if people really live their lives that way surrounded by toxic people. I am honestly curious because I have never experienced anything like what JY and SA both endure from the people around them whether in school, work, family or social groups. Is this a reflection or exaggeration of SK’s society?

Let’s look at JY’s parents. Why are they doing this to him? I completely don’t get how parents can financially burden their kid perpetually like this without a care. It’s like they’re stifling their kid to death. The mother, why did she allow the diner in her husband’s name that allows him to use it as collateral? Is there some law in SK that allows him to automatically have legal right over the diner because of his marriage? With his egregious financial history, maybe it would have been better to legally protect it from his grasp. Too late though. No wonder JY is struggling with his piano. He probably negatively associates it with the financial woes that plagues him through his extremely inconsiderate parents.

SA is probably facing her most difficult phase yet. I honestly don’t know what to think about the issue this time because there are some truths in what others say about the projection of her musical career. I do wonder if she will continue to enjoy music once she tries to make it a career. Somehow that industry seems brutal and it doesn’t seem to be for the faint of heart. In comparison, look at JY that is considered to be talented yet it seems that because another peer did better than him in a competition, he suddenly is no longer appealing enough to sell out a concert. Is this path really worth it for SA? I think she will have to decide for herself. In the process, I really hope she quits that professor. The woman isn’t even trying to instruct, correct or teach her. The only person gaining value from that relationship is the professor.

I thought @joccureferred to the fact that she is not in the village. If her body has not been found, she should be in the village. As she is not there, it means that she is not dead (as you assume) or that her dead body has been found (as I gather form @joccu's post.

Well, if she’s alive, then the serial killer might have information on her.

  11. I just finished binge-watching this show over the past 24 hours. I thoroughly enjoyed it even when Hyun Soo and Ji Won were struggling through the deception in their relationship. The emotional confrontations and conflicts were very nicely done and deeply moving. I have watched Moon Chae Won in other ships that I really liked but I find her wonderfully matched as a wife with Lee Joongi’s Hyun Soo. For me they were sincerely believable as a young married couple. Very well done indeed.

    013BYm.gif

As far as the final episode. I actually think it was a quite appropriate end to a solemn and emotional crime story. I can’t imagine things just being happy without a proper time skip of six months to a year at least. Otherwise, it would be too artificial considering the circumstances. I’m really just happy that Hyun Soo, Ji Won and Eun Ha got a chance to start anew.  I keep thinking how will Hyun Soo’s reputation affect his business in a place like SK where people treat a person like a criminal even when they have been proven innocent. What about the fact that he’s the son of a serial killer and Eun Ha is a grand daughter of a serial killer?

I’m okay with not knowing the details of the difficulties they will face but I definitely didn’t expect numerous happy scenes after an ordeal like that. The reality is that Hyun Soo will probably get to live his life freely now, without pretense, for the first time in his life since his father was exposed as a serial killer. This is a new chapter for him and his family. I know they will be fine though since they have been through the worse already and intend to face the future together.

This is definitely a favorite of mines now and one I intend to rewatch. I also appreciate that the OTP had a lot of powerful scenes throughout the drama that showed their commitment to each other. Hyun Soo might think he doesn’t have feelings but what I see from him is not an act. One of my favorite scenes was the one on the bridge where he was crying and apologizing to Ji Won in their first conversation after she openly acknowledged she knew he was Do Hyun Soo. More than happy scenes at the end, this couple has shown me throughout their journey that no matter how distressing their situation is, they still love and protect each other.

  12. @joccu, I don’t think they found a body. However, they found someone else’s DNA on the school bag that was left behind. Currently the crime lab is running a test on the DNA to possibly identify the owner of that DNA. The reason why I believe perhaps there is a possibility that she died is because the serial killer was shown as though he was reminiscing on one of his victims and images of the little girl at the amusement park with her parents were intertwined as though someone was watching her with them. Therefore, it kind of implies that the serial killer may have been involved in the daughter’s disappearance although I don’t know how old he was at the time the child was lost.

  13. I honestly would prefer if neither Wook nor the detective is the grandchild. It would be horrible to find out that their friend or fiancé died because of the search for them. It would be good if the grandchild is someone else. Realistically, it would be normal if the grandchild isn’t found just like it seems more than likely that Mr. Jang’s daughter was in fact killed.

Regarding Mr. Jang’s daughter, I’m actually surprised that his daughter could in fact be dead because it’s more realistic than Drama-Land usually plots. In this way it kind of reminds me of a show I used to love called Cold Cases that told the story of the re-investigation into unsolved cases.

Wook saw Kim soo yeon Murder. It looked like the murderer could be chairwoman/grandma secretary.

the possibility that wook is the grandchild is high but there is also the possibility that detective shin is the grandchild or at least his mother knows more that she lets on.

It’s strange that I get a vibe that Wook is the grandchild yet it seems for sure that he’s his mother’s child. The fact that he seemed close to the daughter and affectionately called her “Aunt” seems to be unusual. There are also those memories of her hugging Wook and stuff. I feel something is off here and that maybe in order to live with her child, the daughter used the maid to adopt her child and bring him into the house. What throws me off is that Wook’s mom seem to be the real deal and yet, I can also see her being a cover for the daughter and her son.

Regarding the detective, his mother didn’t really seem like she was hiding something. She seemed to wonder why all of this is happening now but it was more like she finds it odd. She didn’t really seem nervous or let on that she knew that he was the grandchild that she knows the chairwoman is looking for. And there’s also the possibility that she would want to be compensated for raising that family’s grandchild since she seem to believe in status? Let’s say she doesn’t know that the detective is the grandchild, then it had to have been that she adopted her son. Then why was she so prejudiced against Yeo Na who is an orphan just like her son?

  15. I feel so sorry for Joon Young. As if his financial issues weren’t already strangling him, now he will most likely fall into the hands of that unscrupulous guy who will take over his management rights in SK. It’s like Joon Young has no power over his life and definitely not over his career. The guy is already telling him to ditch Hyun Ho and Jung Kyung and I’m sure that’s just the beginning of his schemes and demands. Then there’s the music professor who basically advised him that accompanying Song Ah in her violin sonata is a double edge sword which will bring down his grade or cast doubt on Song Ah’s ability. Then there’s his friendship issues with both Hyun Ho and Jung Kyung. His life sure is thorny. It’s one of the reasons why I like to see him light up and smile when he’s with Song Ah.

I would like Jung Kyung to get the job. Hyun Ho must have withdrawn his participation because I haven’t seen him at the teaching sessions. I find that Jung Kyung was helpful in her instructions to Song Ah. At least we get to know that she plays the notes correctly and her shortcomings are her inconsistency and diffidence.

Sometimes I feel like Song Ah is living in a lonely world by herself when it comes to music. Only her dad encourages her at home and her music friends seem to get along with her but secretly look down their nose at her ability. The teachers are neither encouraging nor helpful. I think something needs to change for her and it just might be Jung Kyung.

On the romance side, I like that our Dimples couple do not hold grudges against each other. They argue and disagree but still reach out to each other to spend time together. I’m patiently waiting for the time when Joon Young can honestly share his issues with Song Ah. I don’t expect her to solve his problems but having somebody to honestly share his feelings with would be great. I know Song Ah wants that too because she already brought up the subject with him.

The kiss was lovely.  I’m really happy with this development for our couple. And it was right on the heels of Director Cha encouraging Song Ah to wait for Joon Young because it will be worth it. He will cherish her because that’s the kind of person he is.

HH, yes! I am so proud of you! Finally letting her go and saying goodbye! But why is JK crying? I don’t understand her at all. She hurts him and then cries when it is his turn to say goodbye to her. Like why?

She spent many years with him and I’m sure she remembered his kindness and the way he treated her. She hurt him and she came face to face with that last night when he was practically holding back his tears to finally say his piece before telling her not to show up at his home again. It’s their final goodbye as a couple so I can see how that would make both of them cry. Her father’s admonition to her was also spot on. Before, she treated him callously but now I think she regrets hurting him with her angry words. I honestly hope there’s no second chance for them. Maybe it’s time for Hyun Ho to expand his world and meet new people. In the past he was probably too caught in his life with JK so this might be a time of growth for him.

omg. Not JK again. It could have been anyone else..

:w00t: That’s because Song Ah is having a private lesson with her.

I really hope Song Ah gets another teacher who is attentive to her practice, constructively critiques her playing and gives her good instruction. If she keeps up with this professor, I can’t see her improving significantly. The Professor makes it blatantly obvious that she’s disinterested, bored and unwilling to make any effort to give instruction.

For the violin sonata, it would be nice if Joon Young accompanies her on the piano. Apparently the pianist has to be in sync and compatible with her. It would be a nice opportunity for them to work together on a musical piece.

On the romance side, I’m glad Joon Yoon realized why Song Ah rejected his black handkerchief. Heh. He better get his act together soon because in the preview it seems that Song Ah has begun to distance herself from him. I don’t blame her because she carried a crush long enough for CEO Yoon and she probably thinks of it as unrequited. Now there’s Joon Young whom she fell for and whom she believes have feelings for JK and will probably not come to her no matter how long she waited. I’m sure there will come a point when she wants to protect her own heart.

I’m glad HH finally accepted the breakup and will hopefully move on. Loved the scene with his parents and Song Ah’s scene with her dad. In contrast, it’s like Joon Young is carrying the weight of his parents who won’t give him a chance to breathe. I feel sorry for him who keeps having to find money to support his parents in one way or another. It seems like there’s no way out of this situation for him, unfortunately. They’ve been saddling him with financial demands for a long time now.

  18. @Jillia @vangsweetie637 You’re absolute right! I forgot to comment on HH telling JK not to show up in front of him again.

I know that HH acted like a coward in telling JY to leave and in essence sort of blamed JY for the breakdown in his relationship with JK. However, I still felt sorry for him when JK callously and coldly told him to buzz off in front of Director Cha and unbeknownst to her, Song Ah. I had thought that maybe that needed to happen in order for HH to finally accept the breakup but really, that was a very cruel method. Thankfully he gets it now and I hope he truly means to stick to his decision.

  19. @Jillia, it is refreshing that Joon Yoon and Song Ah speak honestly. Really, it’s in direct contrast to the other two failed relationships between HH/JK, JY/JK and DY/MS. I love the translated conversation that you provided above where Song Ah spoke honestly about her feelings when JY denied he was dating her. I hope they continue with their honest exchange. In that way they would understand each other even if they don’t agree with each other. It minimizes misunderstandings and secret hurt feelings.
