  1. know it is cheesy but really waiting to see "the truck" that appears in every drama; you know the one that conveniently drives by and almost knocks the girl off the road and the guy sweeps in and moves her away from harm's way. can just see mimi in glorious slow motion as gun catches mi young!!..

but hope it won't be the "truck of doom" that causes every single accident in dramaland..spoiler:
well if they stick to the TW version, maybe it will make an appearance sadly......

  2. the sock question: was laughing in the scene with clan elders when grandmother wang said she would not even wear fake designer socks....while watching, had the same quizzical expression as gun --  so question: is there such a thing and do people actually notice if someone wears fake designer socks?? won't it be hidden under the pant and all you can see is the colour right? do people even notice socks?

  3. wonder what kind of father Gun had and whether he spent any time at all with him. it was interesting that he told the mistress that what he remembers most about his mom is her back because she did not want to see him cry. it is going to gut him like crazy when he sees Mi Young turn her back to him in tears. was interesting to note that the mistress never had a happy time either; he would have probably made a promise to himself as a child to not be like his father -- won't it be terrible to realize that he is doing the same? making two women unhappy because he didn't choose?

Geon visible pretend that he was glad to see her leave the house but I knew  that he was worried about her. Poor Geon sii..i believe you will feel lonely without her beside you. you have to do something to make her back!!  :(

  5. am so glad that we have one happy drama this year! fated to love you is turning out to be such a blast and isn't it fun tuning in every week?
it was fantastic to see Gun's possessive streak come in so early and that he is showing these moments without being forced into them. it is fun to watch because Mi Young has no idea that he is changing towards her. she does not know that he lingered and watched her sleep with a smile or caressed her cheek with tenderness. she does not know that he changed her band-aid and acted all pleased with himself like he had marked her as his. she does not know that he happily took a selca for his phone with her when she was asleep. she does not know that he was happy to see the baby clothes he sewed. she does not know that he put the ring back on with a smile because he wanted to. she does not know that he hung up on sera for the first time...

it was also nice to see Mi Young slowly change from her meekness and be more assertive with things close to her heart. the face she made when gun told her to stop hanging out with daniel was so cutely sarcastic. when she firmly told him that she was keeping the baby, it was a nice hurrah moment for her. was expecting gun to argue a lot but he doesn't which was interesting. so their marriage is valid for the next 10 months with neither of them talking about divorce in the immediate term. what does that mean for sera? he actually looked disappointed when she agreed and told him that she won't invade his room -- made me laugh; looks like he wants her to keep crawling into his space so he won't have to be guilty about making the move first. loved how annoyed he got with that horrible friend of SeRa and kept waving his hands to tell her to say no.

was giggling when the titanic music came on when he hugged her. initially thought the music was in her head but what if it was him? he is actually quite a romantic based on his rather misty-eyed vision of Sera in his head. so if it was him, it would be fun to see what kind of romance he feels brewing in his head -- jack and rose from titanic have this short but very deep sweeping romance.

the sing-song session was so much fun to watch -- wish there were events like that at weddings I go to!

  6. really hats off to the stylist for Jang Nara and the PD. usually if a character wears glasses in a drama, the girl is always wearing bad clothes and seems so unkempt and super clumsy. here, she wears pretty clothes and is really quite feminine. her glasses does not stop her from being pretty and Gun is falling for her just as she is -- no makeover needed!!! so refreshing to see a girl character wear glasses and look stylish & pretty at the same time.

    Performance

TJ was Jang Hyuk's rapper name back when he released his rap album in 2000. But really words are not enough to describe TJ. You must watch and listen.... =)) Just like how EPIC Lee Geon is...TJ is another EPIC Jang Hyuk's persona =)) . Mianhae Hyukie oppa....I can't not laugh when mentioning TJ.

  8. keep finding the interaction between the mistress and grandmother wang really funny but it is also kind of sad at the same time. while mistress and half brother (what is his name?) is trying to kick out Gun from his CEO position, it seems that what they really want is acceptance and status within the family that yes, they do belong. when they ask Mi Young if it is okay to call her sister-in-law and daughter-in-law, they seemed sincere and not just creating a drama for her benefit. it felt like it was a big deal to them to have a connection with her even though at the same time, they are trying to snoop and find out what is going on with the two. hmmm, will Mi Young change the family dynamic with her kindness and create a bridge between Gun, grandmother Wang and the mistress, half-brother?

  9. a Q -- does Gun have a nickname for Se Ra? it would be interesting if he has one for Mi Young but never had one for Se Ra despite dating for so long.....
P.S -- another Q -- why do you think Gun agreed to do the massage? not to be pervy but he could have just given an excuse and run for his life no? he didn't even argue with the teacher like he did for massaging the feet and went ahead even though he was feeling embarrassed... instead, it was Mi Young who ran out....

I also loved the divorce contract scene. Geon was being a total douchebag, no excuse for that, but I liked how MY handled it. How she told him that she appreciated him, and how she told him the reason she married him. She wasn't forced into it, she made the decision to marry him, becuz even though they didn't love each other, she thought he was a nice decent person and she could depend on this guy for her life. That was a mature woman's decision, and whether it was right or not, I'm glad the drama showed that it was her decision. And that definitely did move Geon.......aww did you see his face when she was telling him that? He looked like he would tear up soon...his face showed disbelief, he couldn't believe this woman was that nice...!

late but wanted to jot this down...

-- was really moved by Gun's proposal. for once, it felt like two adults discussing and actually talking about the situation and what it would mean to them. something that he said really struck me; he said that Se Ra did not see him as a man. so her rejection of his proposal not only hurt him, but also made him like he is not man to her and would have really hurt his pride, his sense of manliness. someone earlier mentioned that he sees mi young and himself as kindred spirits and in that sense they totally match. while most men wouldn't notice her and so she is in a sense invisible to some, he too is invisible because the woman he loves does not see him as a man. he is more like a crutch, friend, pet to Se Ra. she does not see him. so when he proposes to Mi Young, it makes sense. it was interested that he admitted that he does not know when or how much his heart will turn to Mi Young. so  he is already admitting to turning to her in some sense and it is not something that has not gone unnoticed by others even though he seems to be not too aware -- lawyer boss, lawyer douchebag, his secretary have all picked up on that...

-- was really moved by Gun's proposal. for once, it felt like two adults discussing and actually talking about the situation and what it would mean to them. EDIT: got the impression that Se Ra did not see him as a man. so her rejection of his proposal not only hurt him, but also made him like he is not man to her and would have really hurt his pride, his sense of manliness. someone earlier mentioned that he sees mi young and himself as kindred spirits and in that sense they totally match. while most men wouldn't notice her and so she is in a sense invisible to some, he too is invisible because the woman he loves does not see him as a man. he is more like a crutch, friend, pet to Se Ra. she does not see him. so when he proposes to Mi Young, it makes sense. it was interested that he admitted that he does not know when or how much his heart will turn to Mi Young. so  he is already admitting to turning to her in some sense and it is not something that has not gone unnoticed by others even though he seems to be not too aware -- lawyer boss, lawyer douchebag, his secretary have all picked up on that...

-- Se Ra as mentioned by several is all about me and herself. but what was interesting is that the phone calls indicated that this was the first time where Gun was distancing himself from her and was not accepting her usual flight tactic. so till that point, she held the power in the relationship where she dictated terms and he was content to follow. so with him now marching to himself, it would be interesting to watch how she will react -- if she will find herself more frustrated by the change in power dynamic.

-- Mi Young's thinking of what to do also made her seem less feeble. while it is a difficult choice, she is thinking ahead of what it would mean if she were to have a child where the man does not love her but is still a kind man who would be responsible. she is also not sure if she has what it takes to be a single mother and that would be tough to admit even to oneself. it was really nice to see that she acknowledges that Gun is a person who would not walk away from his child even though he loves Se Ra. it would be a tough situation for a child to be in. we can just see Gun's brother as an example -- son of a mistress who has no status and is a little lost but also devious and conniving.

-- it was nice to see a saner reason for why Gun will change his attitude to Mi Young in this version. till the bumbling idiots handed him that island powder box, he felt like Mi Young and him were a team -- stuck in this horrible position together and he feels compelled to protect her naturally. but now, he thinks that she is part of the scheme, it makes more sense logically that he would feel horribly cheated and resent her for the breach of trust even while being confused by her goodness to him. spoiler: in the tw version, he decides to use her as a surrogate where she would give birth and then go away while he would raise the baby with his girlfriend. here, there is a important distinction: neither of them talk about a contract marriage. they intend to raise this child together. so the expectation for Mi Young is that this is a real marriage and she would expect him to act as a husband slowly.

-- am liking this version of daniel. spoiler: in the tw version, he seemed so bland and his expression most of the time was just limited to a smirk.  he seemed more like a puppeteer who pushed the girl to become more instead of someone with feelings... here, we are seeing this wonderful warmth and vulnerability which Mi Young immediately picks up on. so instead of him comforting her, it was she who comforted him and encouraged him. so we see a equal friendship forming with a lovely give and take.

-- best of all -- how did we end up with a drama with both male leads having gorgeous deep voices? :P
