    - am finding the budding relationship between the mistress and Mi Young fascinating. when the mistress blurted out to MiYoung's sister that basement houses are cheapest -- made me wonder, how does she know that?

@lmangla, I also picked up on this in episode 8.  I know we're suppose to be dislike the aunt mistress but why do I have a feeling that eventually MY will find an ally to her.  Like we'll see her side thru MY.
  2. ep 8 highlights:
-- Gun actually made a choice instead of wavering like in the original version. it was interesting that when he opens the drawer to put in the photo of him and SeRa, he finds the heart shaped candy. so he had kept it and savored it and not thrown away the gift -- it meant something to him and he recognized that.
-- when Gun cried, found it sweet that MiYoung was sitting outside the room and crying as well. she even stood there in the rain waiting for him. there was nothing for her to do but wait as Gun said but she stood there. what was sweet was that Gun was aware of her presence that she is there. she didn't intrude into his space till it was necessary. his withdrawal and silence actually seemed more crueler than any harsh words and actions but MiYoung is so understanding...
-- am finding the budding relationship between the mistress and Mi Young fascinating. when the mistress blurted out to MiYoung's sister that basement houses are cheapest -- made me wonder, how does she know that? did the family not support them at all? we get some answer for that in ep 8 when MiYoung and the mistress chat. she tells MiYoung that it is stressful to live as a mistress because one is never sure of how long his love will last and when he will lose interest and walks way. by comparing herself to MiYoung's position, she is not being malicious but is genuine in sharing her experience and this is a worry that MiYoung secretly shares with daniel. as the mistess noted, in some ways MiYoung is like the mistress who swooped in and stole Gun. so if Gun leaves her, no one will be surprised -- that is essentially the position of mistress -- no one sympathizes or helps. so the mistress advices her to be prepared to stand on her own and find her network of help because she might need it -- extremely practical advice and it seems like MiYoung is already taking it to heart. she tells daniel that she needs to be strong for her baby's sake and what steps will she be prepared to take to ensure that? wondering if the separation will occur because she is trying to protect the baby...
-- another scene with the mistress was also interesting. the clan man revealed that there were lots of people wanting to take over the company which would indicate that Gun might face business troubles. wonder how SeRa will play into that and how that will affect MiYoung.. will these company troubles end up bonding the Lee family -- Gun, half-brother, mistress and grandmother??
-- best!: that ridiculous macho running competition between the two men! daniel actually seemed to really enjoy it.. oooh, bromance!

  3. so many great posts and discussions -- keep it up people! 8->

most of the discussion has centered on Sera and Gun's reveal:

@fourleafclover notes that he should not strung SeRa along but he didn't contact her till his wedding day. he literally cut her off and that should have been a hint for her. Mi Young is a month or two along before she finally realizes that she is pregnant and whole roller coaster that follows. so for a good month or two, he did not call her. if a long-distance boyfriend cuts off contact for a month, one should logically question what is going on. when he finally calls her, it is his wedding day and it was her performance. since he loves her, he wouldn't jeopardize her performance as @gumi noted. but he called her only once after his wedding day and did not keep in touch which SeRa herself found it strange... so in some sense, she knew something was up.  was really surprised when Mi Young stops him and says that Se Ra is not ready and Gun needs to prepare her. she understands that SeRa needs to be informed but is trying to do it in a way that would save face for everyone.

so perhaps, the better question is how does one break up in a good way it is a long distance relationship? does one inform the other party over the phone? does one send a mail? or do you send a text message? or does one wait till you have a face-to-face conversation? which would be the better option? which would hurt less? which would be the most honourable way to do it? knew a friend who decided that a face-to-face conversation was the best way to show her respect and so he waited till his girlfriend flew over and then broke it to her that he had met someone else and intended to marry that girl. it was hard for him because it wasn't intentional. he was going through a rough patch and this other girl stood by him and comforted him and he fell for her even though she wasn't as pretty or accomplished as his girlfriend.

Gun's situation is also similar in that way -- he was trying to tell her face-to-face because he probably felt that was best. he was so hurt when she informed him by text and voice mail instead of speaking with him like @gumi notes. so he might have thought that meeting in person was best. but she came back before he could fly over to NY.

was so proud of Gun that he made a conscious decision and stuck by it and told her. but as @bebebisous33 notes, the way he broke it to her might imply to SeRa that he isn't invested in the relationship which makes me wonder what SeRa will do next. m-i-l-o mentioned, having a career means sacrifices but don't think SeRa ever realized that -- she thought she could have it all and so it wouldn't be easy to accept that she didn't make the necessary investment in the relationship because Gun never complained before. she would feel wronged that she did right and he wronged her.. as @junkietiger14 notes, where would SeRa find a man like Gun -- she is unlikely to remove her claws him so soon and wish him the best.

P.S -- did anyone find it strange that SeRa did not notice a wedding ring on his finger? he was very much wearing it and it is not like Gun is a jewelry wearing man, or is he?

  4. thanks @chelseas for the cuts; the ending scene was sweet.. have no idea what he said but  the baby kiss was swoon worthy and am not disappointed. he kissed her tears away so tenderly and that is sweeter and more of an impression that an actual kiss because it wasn't just out of physical desire but an emotional tug from his heart. awwwwwwwwww....

P.S -- logged out for a few hours and came back to find 200+ posts!! thought Mi Young and Gun made some rice cakes based on the number of posts....

  5. some of the great highlights of ep 7 have already been mentioned but here are some:
-- it was sweet when Gun realizes how big his room is without Mi Young's presence in it. she is doing exactly what he wants and he himself is unsure why he is feeling upset and abandoned. it was sweet that he is making steps to reach out to her. in the bed scene, it was he moved towards her side and it was deliberate. same with his entry into the bedroom. he knew what he was doing and it was a conscious decision. what was great is that he is realizing how much she means to him even before the upcoming separation which is bound to occur. he calls her superglue again which indicates that it is going to hurt like crazy when she leaves him.
-- usually in dramas, the girl is wildly packing where she is dumping stuff in her suitcase. here she was packing methodically, systematically and it was actually sad because there was so much control in her movements
-- didn't notice this before but Jang Nara actually does a wobble with her voice whenever Mi Young is upset -- really nice acting there..
-- really loving Daniel and his pow-wow with Gun; was laughing through the whole meeting because he is purposely goading Gun. at the same time, Gun has no idea of the kind of relationship that Daniel has with Mi Young. looking forward to see more Gun-Daniel scenes.
-- was so sweet when Daniel said that she is like his sister and offered to be her big brother who looks out for her. at the same time, he gives her sensible advice and asks her to go home because her husband will worry even if he is a bad husband ~ it was such a big brother move. it would be fantastic if he remains her big brother ~ would make for an awesome change to see a second lead like that. leaves him free to pursue whoever and it is not like a consolation prize kind of ending for him. someone (tried to find out the original poster but not able to, sorry) mentioned that it would be great if he ends up with Mi Young's friend -- that would be cute! thumbs up for that idea! :)
-- while hearing Daniel talk about his 'kind' sister makes me think that he too has a rather rosy view of what his sister would be like. he imagines that she would have grown up to be someone like Mi Young but instead he is going to get SeRa. so it is not only Gun who has to wake up and see SeRa for who she is, also Daniel will have to adjust his expectation of what his sister is actually like. it would be interesting to see if he is disappointed when he finally meets SeRa as sister because she did not fit his dream.

-- highlight: Gun said the baby looks like... ET! lol.. karma and he will end up with a even more bald and wrinkly baby....
    =))

    Q. 'Fated to Love You''s every scene is legendary scenes that deserve to be be clipped and brought up again and again in the future. What's your favorite?
    A. If I'm asked to pick one right now, I pick the scene where Lee Geon runs into doctor's room when Kim MiYoung went to obsterics. He runs in, the doctor asks who he is, he answers 'I'm the father of the child' and hears the baby's heart beat. That scene is most memorable to me. I feel like since I'm married and have children, I could feel that scene with whole heart...............

....I will be honest. I've never watched JNA in any drama....so, I wanted to find out alittle bit about her....she's 33... :-O :-O....say what?? All I can say is what's her secret? where's or what's her fountain of youth??? :-/.  She looks amazing. Whatever she is doing when it comes to looking and staying young she is doing right. She looks amazing. (I honestly can't tolerate watching 'plastic-stretched-unmovable-'doll-like' faces on actors or singers.)
    ...........

  8. know it is cheesy but really waiting to see "the truck" that appears in every drama; you know the one that conveniently drives by and almost knocks the girl off the road and the guy sweeps in and moves her away from harm's way. can just see mimi in glorious slow motion as gun catches mi young!!..

but hope it won't be the "truck of doom" that causes every single accident in dramaland..spoiler:
well if they stick to the TW version, maybe it will make an appearance sadly......
