  1. I remember when Yi Chan had a loss of hearing for a few seconds and that`s why he went to the hospital for investigations. We did not hear the diagnostic, Yi Chan said that it is nothing but he could have lied. Right now, I have a feeling that Eun Gyeol can`t prevent his father losing the hearing. Just like the Master said, Eun Gyeol was not there in 1995 to save his parents but for himself. Both Eun Gyeol and Eun Yoo are there as a gift for them. I understood why Eun Gyeol run to the school gym (to save his father) but I am sorry that his date with Eun Yoo was ruined. Now I have to watch episode 12.

  7. Nice to see you again. WOW, you watched a lot. You really like this genre. No zombies or vampires for me. Maybe dramas with Grim Reapers are not really horror dramas that`s why I can watch them. It is not the horror element that I don`t like, it is the chase for victims and I find it useless. I want a plot. I will give Kingdom a try. I read good reviews about it.

  10. At this time, I like this theory more because Bo Gyeol not telling right now is annoying and incomprehensible to me. I will be sad if he is not alive but I like things to make sense more. I am sure they will try an explanation. I hope it is a good one. But knowing the kdrama patern, I am sure he is alive. Usually, the male lead is the protagonist, the old friend. I also think Bo Gyeol is Ki Ho because even with memory loss, Woo Hak is so bubbly, worry free and old Ki Ho was nothing like that, he was introvert. For me, Woo hak is not annoying. I can`t fault him to have this personality. He is a little immature but he showed that it is capable of deep thought. He was very observant of Mok Ha`s need and he is empathetic. Bo Gyeol is like an older brother, more mature and responsable. I don`t know anything about him because they did not showed us many things about him. He is thoughtful too, he gave Mok Ha new shoes and I am sure he hides some truths. He seems to want to protect his brother that`s why he doesn`t tell him much about his past. If he wants to stay silent about his true identity, he must have bigger reasons because, right now, I find it annoying (and that`s because I don`t see the whole picture). The only explanation that works for me (for now) is that his brother`s accident hides a bigger and painful truth. He stays silent about his identity because that has ramifications to another truth. I will wait.

  12. Castaway Diva: Episodes 1-2 by quirkycase The newest rom-com featuring Park Eun-bin as a marooned pop-star-wannabe is here, and it’s off to a strong, emotional start! But be warned: the first episode isn’t for the fainthearted. We’re introduced to our heroine as a teenager, and the story of how she ends up on an uninhabited island is a dark one. Although we start off with a big helping of trauma, things take a lighter, brighter turn when our heroine finds herself reentering society with a new lease on life. EPISODES 1-2 I did not expect such an intense opening! The first episode was surprisingly dark (centering around child abuse), but it blew me away with how emotionally affecting it was. Thanks to the impressive performances and writing, it was impossible not to root for the resilient kids at the heart of the story. We start off in 2007 on Chunsam Island where we meet charismatic, lovable teenager SEO MOK-HA (Lee Re) whose defining trait is being a massive fan of pop star YOON RAN-JOO (Kim Hyo-jin). She’s beside herself when she gets a once-in-a-lifetime chance to sing on air with her idol through a call-in radio program, but her phone dies. Her tears result in aloof classmate KI-HO (Moon Woo-jin) letting her borrow his battery. However, his goodwill only lasts so long, and after minutes of her sobbing in joy because Ran-joo unnie is talking to her, he snatches the battery right out of her phone before she gets to sing. Mok-ha’s dreams are dashed — but no matter. She can just enter a video contest Ran-joo is judging, win a contract, meet Ran-joo, and become a star. All she needs is video equipment… which Ki-ho happens to have. Lucky for her, he’ll do just about anything for cash, so she pays him to shoot her audition tape. He softens toward her when he realizes she’s not all talk but can really perform, and they strike up a friendship. They soon learn they have more in common than they thought. Ki-ho has been doing odd jobs and stashing money for a while, trying to fund his escape. His policeman father is severely abusive, which caused his mom to leave. Ki-ho hides his bruises under long sleeves and a stoic façade. His initial dislike of Mok-ha was due to her sunny, carefree attitude that made her seem oblivious to suffering. It’s not until he sees the cops (including his father) at her father’s restaurant, and the bruises on Mok-ha’s arms, that he realizes how wrong his first impression was. It’s enraging the way the cops blatantly take her father’s side despite clear evidence – and even his own admission! – that he abused Mok-ha. She’s so terrified of her father she’s trembling and crying, but Ki-ho’s dad makes her hug the abuser and even apologize for calling the cops. Mok-ha loses all will to audition, but Ki-ho is determined to help her escape and realize her singing dreams. He turns the video in on her behalf and gets a call from the agency: Mok-ha won first place! He’s stunned when she turns the offer down. Mok-ha acts like she’s fine, but then she has a breakdown in the classroom when her peers talk over her. She screams and sobs, asking why no one is listening. Her classmates watch in shock and confusion – all except Ki-ho who understands all too well. Sweet, wonderful Ki-ho goes all in to help Mok-ha the way no one has helped him. He draws a map to his house and instructs her to find him the next time her dad is violent. No matter when, he’ll leave with her. And he’s true to his word. When she shows up in the middle of the night, he grabs his emergency backpack and hops out his window. He buys them ferry tickets and calls Ran-joo’s agent to set up a meeting. But they live in a small neighborhood, so of course they’re recognized before they can leave. Ki-ho sees Mok-ha’s dad about to reach the ferry and selflessly stays behind. The child is beaten to the point of hospitalization by Mok-ha’s dad, but he won’t get out of the way. (Why the heck is no one intervening while watching this grown man viciously beat a child?!) Even so, Mok-ha’s dad manages to get on the ferry. Mok-ha has nowhere to run now that the ferry has taken off; she’s so desperate, she throws herself into the water. Her father is horrified and tries to grab her, falling into the water himself. Mok-ha wakes on the unfamiliar shore of an uninhabited island, shaken but unharmed. Her father, however, wasn’t so lucky. She finds his body on the beach. Meanwhile, with their bodies never found, both father and daughter are presumed dead. As the years go by, an even further traumatized Ki-ho continues going to the spot Mok-ha was supposed to meet Ran-joo at, in case Mok-ha appears. more https://www.dramabeans.com/2023/10/castaway-diva-episodes-1-2/

  14. 5 Pivotal Characters Who Hold Namgoong Min’s & Ahn Eun Jin’s Futures In Episodes 15-16 Of “My Dearest” Features Oct 31, 2023 by shalini After last week’s emotional ending, “My Dearest” eases us into a new chapter in Lee Jang Hyun (Namgoong Min) and Yoo Gil Chae’s (Ahn Eun Jin’s) relationship. Gone are the days when they hid their attraction in the desperate hope of appearing nonchalant—the Gil Chae and Jang Hyun of today are open about the fact that whatever is between them hasn’t vanished. But even as Gil Chae comes to realize the depth of Jang Hyun’s regard and dares to hope for a new life, the shifting political landscape might be our couple’s biggest enemy yet. As always, their fates remain in the hands of others. Here are five characters who wield far too much power and control in this couple’s lives. Spoilers for episodes 15-16 below. Warning: mentions of sexual assault. 1. Ryang Eum Ryang Eum (Kim Yoon Woo) was instrumental to reuniting Jang Hyun and Gil Chae in Shimyang after being equally instrumental in tearing them apart all those years ago. But he’s regretting it deeply as he watches Jang Hyun recover from Gak Hwa’s (Lee Chung Ah’s) arrow. Gil Chae tends to Jang Hyun night and day, determined to ensure that he recovers. And the truth is that Jang Hyun’s doing pretty well. He just wants Gil Chae to remain in Shimyang and fuss over him. Gil Chae spots Ryang Eum weeping at Jang Hyun’s bedside and quickly realizes that he’s in love with Jang Hyun. A quick flashback reveals that Ryang Eum was sexually abused as a child by a wealthy noble but rescued by Jang Hyun who killed the man. He’s relied on and adored Jang Hyun ever since, but Gil Chae knows that Jang Hyun doesn’t reciprocate those feelings. For all Jang Hyun’s intelligence, it isn’t even clear if he knows of those feelings. Gil Chae and Ryang Eum basically duke it out over who gets to take care of him, resulting in Jang Hyun getting splashed with medicine and basically wondering why everyone loves him. Ryang Eum also spills to Gil Chae that Jang Hyun was the one who saved her all those years ago on Ganghwa Island, not her husband Goo Won Moo (Ji Seung Hyun). He points out that Gil Chae is a curse to Jang Hyun. Every decision he’s made is because of her and has gotten him into this pit of hell in Shimyang. But instead of wasting her time feeling guilty, Gil Chae resolves to fight even harder to keep Jang Hyun safe, saying that if she’s a curse, then she’s also the cure. I love her! Ryang Eum’s fierce loyalty to Jang Hyun and him likely being the “madman” locked in prison in the current timeline mean that he’ll remain pivotal in the last four episodes of “My Dearest.” The only question is whether that’s for better or worse. 2. Hong Taiji and his successor The Khan’s presence looms over all of Joseon, and especially everyone in Shimyang. Gil Chae is determined to aid in Jang Hyun’s recovery, and he’s overjoyed at her attention. He loves having her around and loves that she so clearly still cares for him. When he point-blank asks why she abandoned him all those years ago and married Goo Won Moo, she quietly says that she didn’t think she had the right to have him. And that changes everything between them. He knows the truth now, so he’s about to make a move on Gil Chae. She’s even written to Goo Won Moo to find why he abandoned her so that she can request a clean break from him. They’re so close to finally getting together. And the Khan dies. The biggest political player in the occupation and conquering of Joseon is dead. And that means that everything and everyone is caught in a whirlwind of power grabs and violence. Prince Dorgon now rules as regent in lieu of the Khan’s son, and he’s looking to shake things up. And that means Joseon, its ruler, and its slaves. This places Jang Hyun directly back in the line of fire as advisor to Crown Prince So Hyun (Kim Moo Joon) and who’s secretly keeping the largest contingent of free Joseon people by pretending that they’re slaves. And Gak Hwa sees her chance to take a shot. 3. Gak Hwa It’s a shame that for a drama that has given us plenty of lovely, nuanced characters, Gak Hwa is little more than one of those awful second female leads in an early 2000s drama. She has nothing more to her than greed and wants only Jang Hyun regardless of the cost. Prince Dorgon places her in charge of managing all the slaves, and she sees a chance to break up Gil Chae and Jang Hyun’s budding romance because she can. She threatens Jang Hyun by saying that she could have Gil Chae accidentally sent back into slavery and get her limbs cut off. If Jang Hyun insists on staying with Gil Chae, she’ll report to Prince Dorgon that he hasn’t been hunting Joseon slaves but freeing and buying them to keep them out of the Qing empire’s hands. Jang Hyun is given yet another terrible choice. It’s the fate and freedom of hundreds of impoverished Joseon farmers who have placed their trust in his hands versus the fate and freedom of his heart and soul, Gil Chae. This time, it’s Jang Hyun who has to push Gil Chae away because of his responsibilities to the people depending on him. And he can finally understand where she came from. He coldly rebuffs her attempts to stay with him and tells her to leave and that he’s tired of her being hot and cold with him. Gil Chae’s heartbroken but forces on a smile, vowing that she’ll do what he wants because she never wants to see him hurt again. And our lovers are torn apart again. 4. Crown Prince So Hyun This character will probably be the most crucial to this story. Throughout Crown Prince So Hyun’s stay in Shimyang as a political prisoner, his father King Injo (Kim Jong Tae) has gone increasingly wacko. He genuinely thinks that his son is about to depose him. It’s probably because he himself deposed the previous king, but that’s just him projecting. He’s cruel and ruthless to the already-starving Joseon people, and no one likes him. Through Jang Hyun’s manipulation, Prince Dorgon views the Crown Prince favorably and allows him to visit Joseon and see his family. But the deranged king is taking this as another sign that his son wants to kill him. A divided Joseon only spells trouble. And the fact that Jang Hyun is the Crown Prince’s most trusted advisor does not bode well for his reputation in Joseon. more https://www.soompi.com/article/1619594wpp/5-pivotal-characters-who-hold-namgoong-mins-ahn-eun-jins-futures-in-episodes-15-16-of-my-dearest
  15. Watch: Song Kang And Kim Yoo Jung Find Themselves Irresistibly Drawn To Each Other In “My Demon” Teasers And Posters Drama Preview Oct 31, 2023 by S. Nam SBS’s “My Demon” has unveiled new posters and character teasers! “My Demon” is a fantasy rom-com about the demon-like chaebol heiress Do Do Hee (Kim Yoo Jung) and the demon Jung Gu Won (Song Kang), who loses his powers one day, as they enter a contractual marriage. Kim Yoo Jung will be playing Do Do Hee, the heiress to Mirae Group who doesn’t trust anyone and falls in love with a demon. Song Kang will transform into the absolutely perfect and devastatingly charming demon Jung Gu Won, who lived his life of eternity making dangerous yet sweet deals with humans whose current lives are like hell by holding their souls as collateral. The newly released tarot card posters feature the contrasting fates of Do Do Hee and Jung Gu Won. In “THE DEVIL” card, demon Gu Won is trying to take Do Do Hee’s soul as he wraps his arm around a listless Do Do Hee. Surrounding the couple are strange tree branches and a watch with the numbers one through 10 written on them, and the two rings on Do Do Hee’s hand further pique curiosity. In contrast, “THE LOVERS” card depict the two as sweet lovers. Gu Won affectionately pulls Do Do Hee in close, and Do Do Hee also wears a happy smile as she holds Gu Won’s hand. In the corners of the card are flowers in full bloom with sparkling rings on top, previewing their contractual marriage. Furthermore, “My Demon” also dropped individual character teasers of Do Hee and Gu Won. In the first character teaser, Gu Won narrates about Do Hee, “There must be a soul out there that is so desperate, lonely, and greatly frightened that they will grab my hand when I reach out to them.” He continues, “You are the first human to keep me on my toes like this. Do Do Hee, you’re fun.” In another character teaser, Do Do Hee narrates, “I’ve already said, but I’m married to my work. I have no interest in the slightest in men…” but she drifts off when she is taken off guard by Gu Won who swerves unexpectedly into her life. She wonders, “What’s this? This handsome crazy person.” Do Do Hee remarks, “You act like an elementary school student. It’s a compliment—it means you live youthfully.” SBS’s new Friday-Saturday drama “My Demon” will premiere on November 24 at 10 p.m. KST. https://www.soompi.com/article/1623185wpp/watch-song-kang-and-kim-yoo-jung-find-themselves-irresistibly-drawn-to-each-other-in-my-demon-teasers-and-posters
  16. I don`t watch movies or kdramas with vampires, zombies at all. I don`t find them interesting. But I watched some kdramas with supernatural creatures. I hope I watch some to answer in the poll . In the vampire section... I tried watching The Scholar Who Walks The Night but I dropped it. The others... I don`t know anything about them. Sorry. None is the answer. Grim Reaper.... I voted for the dramas I watched. Goblin, Arang and 49 Days. Probably I would have liked both grim reapers in Tomorrow but I did not watch the drama. Zombie section.... None. Sorry I did not watch anything. I am interested in Kingdom as I heard that the plot doesn`t focus on the zombies but I have not had the chance yet.
  17. Will Kim Eun-hee return to ‘Signal 2’? "Soon" notice 'all waves' https://thumbnews.nateimg.co.kr/view610///news.nateimg.co.kr/orgImg/sw/2023/10/30/20231030522660.jpg On the 28th, a special lecture by writer Kim Eun-hee on ‘Communicating through Drama’ was held at the Kim Soo-hyun Drama Art Hall. After the lecture was held at the Cheongmyeong Hall of the Cheongju National Museum, reviews of the lecture were shared in various online communities and SNS. What is particularly eye-catching is the content about her next work. Some netizens raised expectations by saying, “They say ‘Signal 2’ is coming out soon.” Writer Kim Eun-hee, known as the ‘master of genre’, is a representative Korean writer who left behind representative works such as SBS’ ‘Sign’, tvN’s ‘Signal’, and Netflix’s ‘Kingdom’. All of the works she wrote were successful at the box office with high viewer ratings, and she rose to the top of the industry with the love of the public. Writer Kim, who achieved great success with her first terrestrial drama, swept the Baeksang Arts Awards for Best Picture and Original Screenplay with ‘Signal’ and led the globalization of K-drama through overseas remakes. Expectations are high on whether the glory of ‘Signal’, which still maintains a sizable fandom for the work, can be recreated. Meanwhile, writer Kim Eun-hee signed an exclusive contract with Media Labsiso, an agency headed by broadcaster Song Eun-i, last June. https://news.nate.com/view/20231030n35213?mid=n0100
  18. If Yi Chan had an accident when he was 20 years old (he said that to his son in the future) then the one who will suffer an accident before the reharsal was not him. Maybe there is another person from the band who will get hurt and the band will disband. I hope they will sing at the festival. Now I want for Yi chan to perform there even if he will become deaf later. Better it will be if he will not become deaf but at least he will have a great time/ good memories performing at the festival. I want more screen time for the girls. Eun Yoo was right.... that green tracksuit remind me of Squid Games also. Eun Gyeol did not realise yet that she is from the future also but if he will get more of those little hints he will know.
  19. It was quiet for a few days. I guess everyone was busy. 450
  20. It was in the works last year too from what I read. Perhaps she did not finish and wrote other dramas instead. I wish Kim Eun Hee will tell the audience once and for all if she will write another season or not. I don`t need another season but if she will write it, I will watch.

  22. Lee Se Young Flaunts Her Charms in "The Story of Park's Marriage Contract" Stills by Lily Alice, October 30, 2023 6 1 MBC's upcoming Friday-Saturday drama The Story of Park's Marriage Contract unveiled Lee Se Young's stills. The Story of Park's Marriage Contract is about Park Yeon Woo (Lee Se Young) — a woman from the Joseon era — and Kang Tae Ha (Bae In Hyuk) — a man with a cold demeanor from the 21st century — entering a contract marriage. The new stills show Lee Se Young flaunting her charms as she takes on the role of Park Yeon Woo. Park Yeon Woo — the only precious daughter of a prestigious family — is an atypical character with a talent for making and selling clothes and embroidered goods, all while remaining unmarried at a mature age. She is a mischievous, self-confident, and self-dependent woman. Previously, she was seen wearing purple clothes when disguised as the "butterfly teacher." But in these new stills, she is seen wearing a vibrant traditional hanbok and holding a book called Naehun (a book compiled for the upbringing of women). She appears surprised and confused as she points toward something, leaving viewers eager to unravel the mystery behind her astonishment. Lee Se Young's portrayal of the quirky Park Yeon Woo is nothing short of adorable and dynamic. Her charisma as the "butterfly teacher" takes a back seat as she exudes grace and elegance in the new stills, befitting the daughter of the prestigious Park family. The production team stated, "Lee Se Young perfectly embodies the character of Park Yeon Woo, a woman with a lot of curiosity and a clear sense of what she wants [especially] in [a time like] Joseon era when it was difficult for women to pursue their dreams." They asked viewers to tune in to see how the Joseon lady — after time-traveling to the 21st century — will adapt to the modern world. The Story of Park's Marriage Contract will premiere on November 24. https://mydramalist.com/article/lee-se-young-flaunts-her-charms-in-the-story-of-park-s-marriage-contract-stills
  23. I just watched the first two episodes. I like the drama. It is an easy watch. But I have a little problem with the mystery of who is Kiho. And I have a feeling it will be a love triangle and I don`t understand why the mystery regarding Ki Ho. I really hope there is no love triangle in this drama. Why is necesary to hide who is Ki Ho? I don`t see the need. They hid the identity of Ki Ho and made the two brothers have similar vibe to old Ki Ho for us to guess. There isn`t a serious justification. Perhaps I undertstood why they hid Ki Ho`s identity when he was a minor but now he is 31-32 years old man. He can defend himself from his biological father if he will come to find him. And Mok Ha needs to know the truth especially if she is looking for her friend. One of the two brothers is Ki Ho: Woo Hak looks like old Ki Ho, he doesn`t remember his past but Bo Geol has the personality, his job fits Ki Ho`s talent. I think Bo Gyeol is Ki Ho but I wish he isn`t. I am fine if Woo Hak is the old Ki Ho. Gyeol is hiding something and maybe there is a good explanation why. Why Woo Hak lost his memory? They don`t want Woo Hak to find out the truth because it is painful? There has to be more to this mystery. Let see how things will evolve. Maybe there won`t be a love triangle and things could be explain better.

  25. Shin Eun Soo And Seol In Ah Join Forces For Choi Hyun Wook And Ryeoun’s Band Debut In “Twinkling Watermelon” Drama Preview Oct 30, 2023 by M. Lim tvN’s “Twinkling Watermelon” has unveiled captivating new stills ahead of today’s episode! “Twinkling Watermelon” is a fantasy coming-of-age drama in which a CODA (child of deaf adult) student born with a gift for music accidentally travels back in time to 1995 through a suspicious music shop. There, he forms the band Watermelon Sugar with other mysterious youths. Ryeoun stars as Eun Gyeol, the only person who can hear in his family, who leads a double life as the perfect model student by day and a band guitarist by night. Choi Hyun Wook takes on the role of the passionate Yi Chan, Eun Gyeol’s father who was a high school student in 1995. Seol In Ah transforms into Seowon Arts High School’s cello goddess Se Kyung, while Shin Eun Soo plays the cold and haughty “ice princess” Chung Ah, who has been deaf since birth. Spoilers In the previous episode, Yi Chan drew inspiration from Chung Ah’s favorite artist Frida Kahlo’s painting “Viva la Vida” and ultimately decided to change their band’s name to “Watermelon Sugar.” This name alteration posed a challenge as they had already produced T-shirts, posters, and more. However, with unwavering determination, Eun Gyeol and Yi Chan ingeniously transformed this obstacle into an opportunity by enlisting Eun Yu as their photographer and Chung Ah as their designer. Eun Yu and Chung Ah, entrusted with vital roles, threw themselves into their tasks, diligently studying magazine photos in the bookstore and crafting designs for the band’s merchandise. Their tireless efforts as integral members of Watermelon Sugar have borne fruit, as the recently released still showcases the band proudly sporting T-shirts adorned with their band name against a vibrant red watermelon backdrop during the photo shoot under the skilled direction of Eun Yu, who leads as the photographer. In other stills, Eun Gyeol and Eun Yu exchange a meaningful glance against the backdrop of lush greenery, while Yi Chan and Chung Ah create an endearing and romantic moment of their own as Chung Ah affectionately fixes Yi Chan’s hair. These interactions have left viewers eagerly anticipating the development of the relationships among these four. Given Eun Yu’s previous demonstration of her impressive photography skills with shots taken at the amusement park and Chung Ah demonstrated her artistic talent through her sketchbook drawings, viewers are now eagerly looking forward to the collaborative work of these two as they capture the unique charm of Watermelon Sugar in today’s episode. The next episode of “Twinkling Watermelon” airs on October 30 at 8:50 p.m. KST. https://www.soompi.com/article/1623006wpp/shin-eun-soo-and-seol-in-ah-join-forces-for-choi-hyun-wook-and-ryeouns-band-debut-in-twinkling-watermelon
