me too.. in my opinion, Goblin's storyline flows faster than LOTBS, even Goblin's OTP have greater chemistry than LOTBS. i dont know why my heart didnt flutter when charismatic LMH  and that mermaid being together.

hopefully, GY and LDW can make me endure watching Goblin til last ep. Fiction drama is always tough tounderstand for me...hahaha, maybe because my lack of intelligence or my wild imagination???

Somehow, you said everything that I wanted to say! I fell in love with Goblin in the very first episode itself while with LOTBS, I'm still desperately searching for that "wow" factor. Even Weightlifting Fairy is funnier and more interesting to me! Goblin beats LOTBS hands down everything from script, cinematography, acting, directing and OST/bgm and the show is only at Episode 2! Fingers crossed that it continues to flourish! For me, the main actress, especially for any one of these 3 dramas, need to have the "aeygo" to carry out "aegyo" scenes,no matter how cliche the dialogue is, otherwise it becomes so predictable and boring, and both Goblin and WF have done well in this aspect for sure!

Quick question while waiting for TGIF, any nicknames in mind for us here?

      Hide contents

We can use goblets but am thinking of the cup haha

Viki team uses Immortals, seems fit with Goblin and Grim Reaper's description.

      Hide contents

In MDBC they called themselves as Moonlights , Eclipses for SHR

I actually like Immortals, but since it's already taken, what about Supernaturals or Celestial Beings?

  3. Love love the last scene of Ep 2, long coats and all  - and how I wish I was Eun Tak instead - being rescued by these two gorgeous men!!

I also hope, like some viewers here, for a time jump, like a year or two, for ET to be a little bit more steady and mature, to match the Goblin. Right now, he sees her like an annoying teenager and eventhough he doesn't mind her "summoning" him and actually looks forward to seeing her, it would be awesome if he sees and treats her more like a woman, instead of a teenager, still in need of help to find her place in society. She needs to be freed from her "family" and worries about a job and living arrangements in order for her to start looking for answers about her mum and especially about her special powers.

  4. @Rose34 I love your interpretation-it's so beautiful.  When  i saw it live, I knew I loved  the ending and the drama itself but couldn't express why I did- now I know better. So thanks.

HS also could not have been happy in Goryeo had she remained by WS''s side. As a woman, could she have been able to stand by him and watch him with the queen? No doubt she refused a title or be made concubine when he offered, no matter what, he was still king and that meant sharing him with other women. Such is the life and fate of women in those days! And same goes for BA and WH - the wretched life of a higher born woman whose life is bound to avenging her family and protecting her people- torn between her responsibility and the man she loves. The choices that they had to make may not have been the best but were the only options that they had. HS, WH and even Chae Ryung all had been selfless and made sacrifices for their men, be it for the men themselves or to the country. The men, both WS and BA finally admitted to this- that they had both been blind only to what they wanted and needed, without giving much attention to what the woman they love thought , wanted and needed. And didn't Wook summarise it perfectly - that he (and so did the rest of the men imo)did not show how they loved their women correctly until it was too late? :-D

One thing for sure – The ending is crazy… absurd I should say … but :D … compare to most KDrama I’ve watched .. THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST EVER ENDING IN THE HISTORY OF KDRAMA …

1 hour of pure bliss … not 15 mins .. not 10 min .. 1 hour to completely wrap everything … unlike some ending so rushed .. that happy moment the most you’d get is only 10 to 15 min .. sometime worst .. 5 second … some don’t even have an ending….

And that Vancouver – OMG the credits were rolling … it was pure joke .. JOKE, PUN .. kekekkekekekek.. it was suppose to make us laugh ..

Yep, KES did that with tongue in cheek - her way of saying KMY, YSJ, SDY, KMY, and all the doctors and all the soldiers will live happily ever after and no one dies forever in dramaland. And especially for all lovers of DOTS, all our dreams and wishes are fulfilled!! A REAL HAPPY ENDING!!!!

  6. I put off watching the final episode of Dots until I had finally caught up with all the latest news of it, including news of  KiKyo aka SongSong couple. I finally did and oh boy, from start to finish, I was alternating between tears of sadness to tears of happiness, for every scene. The cast, and I really mean the entire cast were awesome and KES, the writer, would probably never have the chance to combine an awesome script with such an awesome cast and crew ever again!!

Sure, there were lots of complaints about mistakes, PPL, unrealistic scenes etc etc but it never deterred me from enjoying this drama thoroughly. Criticisms on Episodes 13 & 14 didn't bother me because I understood them as episodes where both the couples faced realities of their decisions that would affect them for the next 10-20 years or more of their lives and if they are able to accept the obstacles, they would be able to accept whatever that would come. Episode 15 proved just that. With both the men "dead" our heroines could carry on with their lives - sad, yes but they accepted that it was part of their other half's job.

KES did very well in playing with our emotions and by Episode 16, most of the time, as I've said earlier, I was yo-yoing between tears and laughter the entire episode. What's it that Captain Yoo said to Sgt Seo when they were discussing on how to write that "report that should be as thick as school textbooks"? Yeah, he said, "A4 scares me more than C4 explosives. Look at the sharp edges.Paper cuts sting bad, you know.". YSJ and SDY then went on describing how they should exaggerate the incidents and how to make it more intense. No confirmation of facts would be needed since everyone would be too drawn to their story. YSJ ended scene with this, "What we need is a perfect balance of reality and drama". KES was probably echoing her thoughts in this scene. She would have known that she would be criticised for even the smallest detail, but for the sake of a good story, and within the confines of a 16 episode drama, she decided to do what she had to do to give us a superb story ie  exaggerate some scenes (eg YSJ's miraculous speedy recoveries from his injuries), in order to give us a fuller and bigger picture. So yeah, to me, Dots fulfills everything I've wanted in a romance story and more. Definitely one that will remain dear in my heart forever.

Don't throw rocks, but I actually ship SongSong couple in real life lol.

Ok, now to stay on topic, for me, the writer KES (sorry can't remember the name) talent that other writers don't have is her ability to make each relationship, each character matters. They are not just 'additional' 'sideliners' cast. They do carry significant weight in the drama that make the story wholesome. Oh and she breaks away from typical triangle love that is so confusing and annoying. So yay!

Back to watching ep 12 for 7th time (Hubby : Don't Lie!!!) Fine, for 13th time. :P

@azuwaza163 annyeong. Aren't we the lucky ones..I don't know how many times I've watched this drama on KBS World. They have it like on repeat ..I don't know how many times a week. Not to mention the marathons on weekends and the repeats again. The only time I skip is when it's being shown in the wee hours and I am even recording it. And I NEVER get bored haha and each time I find something more to appreciate and love more  about the drama and Songsong couple. Naturally, I ship them in real life too.

SBS's Law of the Tonga made a parody of it, and KBS 'The Promise never missed an opportunity to play the OSTS from Dots in the background and Entertainment Weekly holds weekly specials on DOTs.  Very hard to stay away from anything Dots, even our local daily newspaper had a centrespread writeup on it!!

My darling.... Please stop saying the ending like that..... We only live this drama once.... Don't ruin it with something bad

I just saw the 'Entertainment Weekly' 's interview with Jin Goo and he says that it will be a 'great ending'. So there- it can't be bad at all!!

Btw, just checking if anyone has posted those wonderful trivia on DOTs from Entertainment Weekly here? They have been talking about Dots for a few episodes now for at least 10 mins per show and they are really good.

  10. I'm glad that Argus is finally dead and he did not cause any damage/trouble to anyone. To me Argus has been used well by writer to tell the love story of MY and SJ. This is the story of a romance between a special force soldier and a doctor, not a political or an action drama. Argus' role was to make MY realise the dangers of SJ's job and to make MY decide whether she can accept SJ as her lifetime partner, even with all the cons that came with his job. She even experiences the dangers first hand in Uruk - the landmines, the virus, kidnapping - and if she can accept a man with a gun.MY's character grew from a doctor with a lot of materialistic expectations to a doctor who fulfills and executed her oath as a doctor brilliantly. So I am glad that writer nim did not drag the role of Argus right until the end. So what's next for the next 4 episodes? A whole new playground for the soldiers as they take on different enemies. Plus I hope we get to see how these boys will defeat the enemies closer to home - the suave and pretty boys of Seoul - boys like Min Yonggi :w00t::phew: Can't wait!!!

  11. If you are familiar with XMan and the romance between Kim Jong Kook and Yoon Eun Hye, I bet your first thought when Captain SJ covered MY's eyes before shooting Asparagus, was of KJK and YEH in that "Of Course Game" . I did and I love how our writer nim used this in her drama, only in a more dramatic way!! Can the drama be anymore awesome than it already is? Totally unpredictable, dialogues between the two leads go from downright cheesy romantic to absolute melodrama - and without any over-acting from the actors - just a look or a touch can either make you giggle like a schoolgirl or shed a tear way even before the dialogue starts. I hope the entire cast including the supporting ones sweep whatever awards there are out there!

Thanks for the update @miss sojisub. I too love the song. I recognised Junsu's voice and I was hoping that it will be released this week.:tears: Such a beautiful song and I love the melody. Dots is beyond awesome in cast, script, dialogue , cinematography and it's very rare that I love every single song in the ost but I do in Dots! Long live Dots! :glasses:

@ZarraJae I think one of her lead 'died'.. SBS Lovers (lee Seo Jin) -

Please anyone - correct me if I am wrong ... I don't know if I can survive if any of the lead die -. ESP SJ and MY .. I can't watch it ever again it will be too sad .. SO NOO DYING please - at least not the 4 main lead ..

I remember King 2 heart - The second lead that I love so much (never love any 2nd lead that much) died at ep 22 or 23 .. I gave up watching (it's a 24 eps drama) .. even though happy ending for the 1st lead ..

If SJ or MY die - the whole drama seem 'empty' ...  People that do good deeds - DON"T KILL THEM .. nooooooooo

    huhuhu .. noo chaebal

Nooooo. .I'm pretty sure Lovers had a happy ending. Lee SJ was released from prison and blah blah and they reunited at the beach...that was so long ago...

Well the drama's setting is a war-torn country (correct me if im wrong on this) and in a war-torn country, people die, a lot of them. So it is likely that someone that is a semi-main character may die. I don't think any of the main characters will die because this is a romance drama (again, correct me if i'm wrong) in basic terms so if they kill off one of the main characters, how is that romantic? LOL (I JUST REALLY DONT WANT TO THINK ABOUT ANY OF THE MAIN CHARACTERS DYING) :(

@MairaA I'm with you on this..that none of the main characters will die. They are too endearing and we have all come to love them too much. I'm sure the writer KES came to love them just as much when she told us their love story. None of her her main leads have died in any of her dramas and I have confidence that KES is too much of a romantic to kill them off. She believes in happy endings and just as all our chinggus here have described, she too believes in karma. Our leads have done nothing but good and although they were not perfect at the start of the drama, their characters are growing and developing and a happy ending is the only ending they all deserve. Fingers crossed!

However.....I have a sneaky suspicion that one of the doctors or soldiers will die and since we haven't really seen much of any background story of any of the soldiers, chances are that it will be one of the doctors. And I agree with some speculations that it will be Dr Song. Writer has been dropping hints since 2 episodes ago...his secret file, him buying her shoes (we all know shoes represent separation or something like that?) and now he's coughing away? I pray not but....

  15. O my, lots of feels and so much tears, this episode and looking at preview, it will get worse today! Kudos to all crew and cast - backdrop was simple and when disaster struck, props were simple too but gosh, even that simple scene of handsome doctor putting back up the clock with his pretty wife made me cry! That's the reality, people die but lives move on and time waits for no one. No, not even our two lovebirds - I hope MY makes up her mind soon and we'd have at least some happy times and more kisses before Captain Argus, the bad guy appears again It's almost half way through the drama but already I'm dreading the time when drama ends - I know I will miss it like crazy!!

  16. Thanks for the invite @irilight. I'll be checking in on this thread regularly now. Love Scandal too much to let this one go without giving it a try. Am not a fan of both the leading and secondary men but I do love both the ladies :P

@valsava OTT but I just finished with my marathon with Apgujeong Midnight (took me a whole week) and neglected all other dramas! What can I say? I love it and in short, I wish I have a guy who buys me a whole luggage of presents each time he returns from a trip, who buys me a 5 carat diamond ring, who tells his driver that his wife is top priority and that she must have everything two times bigger and better than her sister in law..hehehe.

PS Does anyone else have problems logging into Soompi with mobile? I haven't been able to log in as member at all for more than a week and still can't.  And that is why I couldn't reply asap eventhough I saw your tag @irilight. Had to wait until I have my notebook with me. Couldn't reply with my phone without logging in.

  17. I guess some people have concerns if JSY would be able to handle a saguek especially the formal speech. If this is so, let me assure you that JSY has appeared in a period drama before ie The Duo. She played the younger version of the female lead and she did really well there- some viewers were impressed and there weren't any complaints about her acting then. After looking at the story line I think she would do well. I only wish the critics would give her a chance.
