    Movie Actresses blurs line between fact and fiction

    Talk about an all-star line-up: the new film Actresses [여배우들] features a whole slew of high-profile names, such as Queen Seon-deoks Go Hyun-jung and Hallyu princess Choi Ji-woo, pictured above, in addition to Lee Mi-sook (East of Eden), Kim Min-hee (I Like It Hot), Kim Ok-bin (Thirst), and Yoon Yeo-jung (The World They Live In).

    Heres the official description, which I think sounds GREAT:

    Actresses: Christmas Eve. For a fashion spread in Vogue magazine, six top actresses are brought in spanning ages from their twenties through sixties. As expected, these ladies who are used to receiving the spotlight alone engage in a battle of wills, and tension fills the studio. Its an unwritten law in the fashion world to schedule shoots to avoid actress encounters, so this experiment was playing with fire from the outset. The psychological battle starts with wardrobe choices and ends with the scandalous scene of [Choi] Ji-woo storming out at [Go] Hyun-jungs provocation. [Yoon] Yeo-jung suspects she was only called in at the last minute to substitute, and while [Kim] Min-hee enjoys the shoot, [Kim] Ok-bin feels the burden of being around sunbaes, wondering how far she has to go to treat them as elders. They endure an endless wait for the featured jewelry that doesnt arrive. The staff is growing worried and the actresses are becoming more and more sensitive.

    What events happened that night? What words were exchanged between these frank, bold women? Could they have really finished their shoot without incident?

    The description sounds fascinating on two different levels: First off, I love real-time-esque suspense thrillers that are more about building tension than flashy action or melodrama. I love feeling the uneasiness building in strained silences (Tale of Two Sisters and 2LDK are two great examples of this kind of storytelling). And second, theres that meta thrill you get of seeing these actresses playing an exaggeration of themselves, using their real names as their characters names, leading us to wonder is this all fiction? Or not?

    The film held its production press conference on November 17 at Seouls Coex Megabox. It will release in theaters on December 10.

    Go Hyun-jung said of her co-star, Choi Ji-woo is so beautiful that I felt envious of her in real life. Choi Ji-woo said in return, The first day I met Go Hyun-jung sunbae, we were shooting a fight scene. I was so nervous that I couldnt control my expressions well what you see onscreen wasnt acting.

    Lee Mi-sook spoke up about the scene, adding, At that time, Go Hyun-jung wasnt famous yet for Mi-shil [in Queen Seon-deok] and Choi Ji-woo was a big Hallyu star. Watching Hyun-jung act, I thought they were really fighting. I was really shocked.

    The stars revealed that the fight was real: they began the scene right after meeting, which called for Go to glare at Choi and hit her forehead, which actually made me angry. In this instance, the director had only established the setting for his lead actresses and had a meeting with them, but didnt shoot with a special script or scenario plotted. For that reason, the scene took on an even more realistic vibe.

    Go said, It wasnt that she started the fight, but she acted sensitively. In the end, that angered me. At the time, I wasnt acting according to a specific plan. Actresses can be pretty simple sometimes. She added laughingly, Because Ji-woo and I are similar heights, it was okay [fighting]. Even when I think back to that, I feel worked up.

    Meeting under those circumstances probably didnt make it conducive to having a good relationship offscreen, and Go Hyun-jung said frankly, We dont have a bad relationship, but not having a particularly good relationship is the way of actresses. This is shown just as it is within the movie.

    Choi explained, I was fighting with Go Hyun-jung in my first shoot and felt a lack of wits and other limitations, so I did feel some disappointment. However, as time passed, it became more enjoyable. Later, I felt regrets because I could have shown more.

    Chois glamorous image can sometimes contradict what fans know as a self-effacing personality. Yoon Yeo-jung said of her co-star, I really thought Choi Ji-woo would be a 깍쟁이 [a snob or brat], but shes very easy-going. Lee Mi-sook said called her surprisingly modest.

    Choi has also been criticized for her acting in the past, and said of this film, I want to receive praise as an actress now. Ive started feeling that desire. She said, Even if the film flops, I wont have regrets.

    Kim Min-hee also expressed a desire to be called a real actor with this role. Often noted for her bold, sometimes avant-garde fashion sense, the film staffers called her the type that isnt popular with men, which made her feel envious of her co-star. She explained, The staff members only told Kim Ok-bin that she is the style to be popular with men but not me, so I felt envious. (Then again, perhaps producers were playing up the role of the actresses alter-egos in the film?)

    Kim Ok-bin said she took on the role because I didnt want to lose the chance to meet these sunbaes. But with regard to acting, I wasnt able to grasp the emotions quickly, which was tough. I wanted to act a part that was close to my real self. I was trying to show myself but the director told me, I think we need something more, which was difficult.

    Meanwhile, veteran Yoon Yeo-jung said, I was cast because Im the only actress in her sixties that Director Lee Jae-yong knows. I made my decision after having drinks with Go Hyun-jung.

    Kim Min-hee said of Yoon, I thought she would be scary, but the way she thinks is young and it was comfortable conversing with her.

    Choi Ji Woo Had A Catfight With Her Co-Worker?

    Hallyu princess Choi Ji Woo has recently been filming a new movie called "Actresses" (directed by Lee Jae-yong for Moongkeul Pictures, aka 뭉클픽쳐스),and the production of the movie has generated rumors, none of which are pleasant.

    A certain scene in the movie, in which Choi Ji Woo and actress Go Hyun Jung get into a heated argument, has received the most attention. When the two of them were asked, "Do you two have a good relationship in real life?" they answered bluntly by saying, "Well, we don't have that great of a relationship." Clean-cut honesty, just how I like it. Am I the only one who is sick of the frenemy relationships between celebrities nowadays?

    Anyways, Choi Ji Woo continued, "I met Go Hyun Jung sunbae for the first time through the filming of this movie, and I had to film an arguing scene with her on the first day I met her. I was so nervous that my heart was beating really fast and I couldn't control my expressions very well. Upon seeing her for the first time, I had to film a scene where she was glaring at me and arguing with me and I got really angry when she hit my forehead."

    Go Hyun Jung added, "Actresses are pretty simple people in real life. The scene was pretty fun for me."

    Actress Lee Mi Sook, who is also in the movie, had a few words of her own: "They were really arguing! I was so surprised. She made Choi Ji Woo really pissed." Representatives also added, "Their relationship is pretty good, despite what it may seem like. The atmosphere between actresses when they're filming is really good."

    At any rate, you all can check out the cat-fight, along with many other interesting scenes between the actresses, on the silver screen on December 10th. I don't know about you, but I'm definitely looking forward to seeing that particular fighting sequence.

    Last week, I wrote a message stealthily, but I felt embarrassed a little

    because a lot of fans welcomed me.

    Now, the turn of the season.

    I was greatly touched by your support which the fans in Japan and the fans

    who came to Japan when there was an event at Tokyo Dome.

    After the event, I wanted to tell my gratitude to you, but I lost the timing.

    Every time I see you who love me, I think that I work hard more and more

    and I want to give you enjoyment and pleasure.

    I would like to express my deepest gratitude to you that you lavish supporting

    You know I'm busy recently for recording of winter sonata animation

    and with the release of movie "actress" near.

    We will have a charity together on 28th of this month, won't we?

    AllforCJW..Thx for link of WLS animate sub English youtube link. Actually I got Ep.0-Ep.2 with sub eng by bittorrent already but now seems the web that make Sub Eng stop to do sub more... <_< So I'm not sure if we still can have ep.3 afterward with Eng sub..Hopefully we can find some....or if you know it , pls kindly tell in the future ^^

    You are most welcome, ixory sis and I guess you must be disappointed that SL's couple kissing scenes are not included in the MV. I shall owe you one on this - will explore an indepth kissing scenes of Lee Mari and Chul-Soo in my review later. :D

    yeah..i also eagerly waiting for this movie.Well, eventought this film is not script and it's kinda new concept ,i hope it's can attract audience to see it.

    Stairway to Heaven

    After tired of playing catch-me-if-you-can, SJ (KSW) finally thought it’s about time he should silenced his best-friend with a much-awaited warm and lingering kiss - indeed a timely kiss as JS (CJW) needed it to defrost her body; the yakun-evening-dress did very little to help warm her. kissmwah.gif

    One of the kiss scenes here has a sad-effect - making JS’s tears spilled over.

    Winter Sonata

    Though this drama is well-known for its beautiful love story, beautiful sceneries, beautiful love songs and beautiful actors – and the beautiful and romantic backdrop which were a perfect set-up for the kiss scene failed to lift up to our expectation, there’s something so lacking in the kiss – no longing and burning desire – maybe JS and YJ were apart for too long and needs time to warm up! hugkiss.gif

    Verdict : Nothing but pure, in-the-moment pleasure! :D

    MC (LBH) planted a light kiss on YS (JW) forehead, his signature-guessing-gesture that I thought only he can get away without coming back for more…. - almost done but not done …. slowly warming up (check : her hand gesture) – she kisses him back, lingering for few seconds before exploding, smoldering an ever-passionate kissing scenes that has now become known as VK (better well-known to all BD fans as Victory Kiss … but I like it better as Vacuum-Kiss!!) smileyyehey.gif

    First Kiss

    Don’t they (AJW and CJW) suffer from claustrophobia - kissing in a public phone-booth? Do you want to kiss? That was one intense and hot sheltering kiss - the rain disguised the steamy-act from passers-by! 4_13_12v.gif

    Now and Forever

    As compared to all of JW’s previous kissing adventures, there’s nothing exciting about this one – an easy job for JW though I was kind-of expecting more from the queen of kissue with hot playboy (role character) Jo Han Sun. Can’t have it all, right? - a tad disappointed with the kissing-script. wiggle-1.gif

    Everybody has secrets

    Gosh! This is truly a ridiculously-steamy script - there was nothing that felt off-limits. In short, both of them (yup, that's LBH and CJW again) were completely in sync, insatiable and crazily in lust and love!! shock_hair_rise.gif

    My favorite jiwoo kiss to date is her kiss with yoo jitae in STar's lover..I love that kiss in the hostel room..Hot and soft at same time.Star's lover hold a record as the most jiwoo kisses she had in film or drama.

    Felicia sis, I am with you on Jang Dong Gun oppa as one of my dream on-screen partners for Ji Woo. Too bad he's almost out of the hot bachelors market (***I am still heartbroken** :( ) hehe.. Ooh..I don't mind Yoon Sang Hyun at all. He's tall, handsome, and talented, except he has this baby face that makes him look younger than his actual age.

    In my book, the ideal on-screen partners for Ji woo have to be: one and foremost :SINGLE (not married) :P , a lot taller than Ji Woo, broad shoulders, and equipped with great acting credentials. Eye candy is not a requirement but greatly appreciated by the fans. ^__^ How many Korean actors will satisfy my requirements? hehe.. maybe Dennis Oh or Go So? on top of my list right now has to be YSH.

    Ji Woo's previous on-screen actors (prior to SL) had always been taller than her but at times they appeared to be as big as Ji Woo in posture, with the exception of perhaps Kwon Sang Woo. Ji Woo mentioned during the SL press con that she felt more like a woman standing next to Lee Ki Woo and Yoo Ji Tae who were towering her in height. She further explained that these two men also appeared to be more manly in her eyes. B) This is why in my dictionary Yoo Ji Tae is Ji Woo's most ideal partner to-date; as far as I am concerned he's set the bar. He may not be handsome like JDG or KSW but this guy is full of charisma and amazing talent. I may sound pessimistic to think there won't be another Yoo Ji Tae BUT girl, prove me wrong! hehehe :P Never thought in a million years that there would be a time when someone else could take BYJ off my pedestal, until YJT came along..nuff said already. Sorry for my long winded posting. :wacko:

    In the BTS pics of Actresses above, Ji Woo looked like an American super model especially with her hair being pulled back like that. Tall and thin. No skinnier than this, please!

    To me,to date jitae is jiwoo ideal on-screen partner..hehe but my first impression when i look at jitae .he is just so so,but after watching Star's Lover.He became something else.I never knew he had beautiful eyes,manly voice and i'm suprise how talented actor he is .That why there is an old saying..."Don't judge a book by it's cover".I'm glad he is jiwoo lover in Star's Lover and i wan't more. :P^_^

    hehe.. sorry for to many Star's Lover in my post but i can't avoid it i've being infected by Star's Lover virus..hehe :P

    oooo..my lee seung gi have being infected with H1N1 :(:(:( .I really hope jiwoo take a really good care of her health.i don't want a person i love being infected by that devil flu.

    ixory dear, i hope u get to watch Yoon Sang hyun in those dramas coz he's cute and loveable. And, i agree that he has charisma. I dont doubt that he and Jiwoo will make a lovely pair in a drama.

    Kang Ji wan is not but either tho i'm not really a fan. Come to think of it, there are still so many good actors that Jiwoo hasnt worked with closely. I wud love to see her act with Lee Seo Jin of Damo and Firebird fame. I think they will do well in a heavy lovestory drama. I'm happy that she worked with Lee Jung jae and Yo Ji tae. There are still so many that Jiwoo can work with. I hope she does at least 2 dramas in a year. I wish!!! :lol::P

    I will try make my time to watched Yoon Sang hyun, ellabel.Queen of Housewife sound interesting. ;)

    Let see who jiwoo don't work with before..

    Well,honestly i not so familiar with Yoon Sang Hyun because i never seen My fair Lady or Queen of Housewife yet but i know he popular in korea and i can tell you he got charisma.I'm willing to see both of them romancing onscreen :P .emm..How about Kang Ji Hwan,hottie from Hong Gil Dong.They also can make a perfect couple. ;)

    Oh yeah ixory chingu, I’ve got the song title mixed up with some other songs – I remember that song – it was played on the car stereo during one of the "Hwansung couple" car riding scenes. It’s obvious you are a huge fan of LSG.....and 2D1N.. :D

    I saw Happy Together today and he was asked who are the actresses he worked with so far and that's when he said Ji Woo (Jiu),SHG and KSA ..(And everyone says, wow. they are all A-list actresses.)... who does he like the most?He answered when he was young,he bought a picture of Ji Woo ,that means he like Ji Woo more said by one of the guy..Then he said JW is very kind because she shared her heater with him.( I assumed during the filming of SL) :blush:About LJW, they are friends, almost look-alike and mistakenly the boyfriend of Ji Woo once,unfortunately he is not, ;) then one of the guy said maybe bec. LJW is more funny than him.. :lol:

    Lee and ixory, I am so sorry for the long delay in writing my views on SL - I have only managed to watch one round and was disappointed with the poor quality of the english subs. I'll definitely get it posted by 2009. :P Please bear with me....and really am sorry for the long wait.

    Did anyone watch yesterday’s programme “Happy Together” aired through KBSW? In this episode, they invited the cast from “Three Brothers” and one of the casts, Lee Jun Hyuk was asked to talk about his previous experience working with famous female stars which include Choi Ji Woo in "Star’s Lover", Song Hye Kyo in "World’s Within" and Kim Sun Ah in "City Hall". He only talked about Ji Woo (she must have impressed him a lot) :P - he said she’s very kind and think he mentioned that JW allowed him to share her hot shower (aha…of course, not sharing together…). :lol: He even mentioned he kept a picture of CJW (maybe when he was younger..) :rolleyes: and he was also mistaken as JW’s boyfriend (LJW) whom is also a friend of his. You know he was so embarrassed when he said that since he looked like him (LJW) why wasn’t he the lucky one….hehehe?!? :lol: Btw, one of the hosts mentioned that LJW is a funny guy. Aigoo…. Another younger guy smitten by JW! em45.gif Anyway, I like him a lot as Jiwoo’s Road Manager in SL – oh sorry everyone, I haven’t really started writing my views on this drama since I can’t absorb the entire storyline (especially some of the key dialogues) of which I am relying on poor English subtitles at the moment.     i went to cyworld and it's rank no 1 and no 4th in naver.

    i think it's like reality show.where they take an actual scene.In my opinion it's kinda unique.

    From the teaser it show some tension,cold war between Jiwoo and Go hyun Jung.Well let hope for the best.
