  1. JJH is great in kissing scenes, so I would expect nothing less. The man knows how to bring the heat even though I still don't see the type of sizzling heat I would like to have seen between Ji Ho and Da Mi. Even after seeing this kiss, I still find them more cute together than hot.

Both JJH and JSY are doing a great job with their scenes together, but the sexual chemistry just isn't there for me. In their kissing scenes, JJH seems to be playing his character as mature, sexually aware racehorse who has to temper his sexuality so that he doesn't overwhelm the too young and too inexperienced Da Mi.

  2. Tarits, I'm not usually a fan of heavy dramas either. That why I can usually only watch them after they have aired. To reduce my stress levels, I need to know how they end before I start watching them. Five Fingers is the first melodrama I've watched live. The only reason why I'm able to watch and enjoy this drama is because I'm prepared for anything... and I mean anything.

That's why no character death in this drama will surprise me. I also don't expect happy endings for the characters that survive. If I was in this drama for the romance, I would have to wait until it finished airing to watch it because I don't see happy endings for anyone's favorite ships.

  3. I love seeing so many new JIW pictures and it's great to see how popular he is in Malaysia and Chinese speaking countries. Making the front page of a Malaysian newspaper is impressive. However, as great as all this is, I have to admit the thing that got me most excited was reading that he's considering his next project. It's about time.

I just hope he's considering a TV drama and not a movie because I want to see him in a weekly project. If he wants to do a movie in addition to a weekly TV drama, I would be okay with that. I just don't want him to focus only on making movies because I don't want to have to wait years to see him in another TV drama.

  4. Yeah, where is JJH's shower scene in this drama?  If he doesn't get one, that would be a waste of his Army abs. I thought it was mandatory that actors had to provide at least one shower scene in their projects immediately after their military service.
    :D

Hmmm, I wonder if his scenes in the tub in his movie, I Am King, counts as a mandatory shower scene. If that's the case, we may not get another. However, that would be strange considering that JJH has treated us to shower scenes in each of this other projects.

  5. @f927, if TT happens with JJH and CSR as leads, I'll be at the front of the line waiting for it. I love those images of Ji Ho and Young Ran, even though I have no idea where the PD is going with this.
    :D

@sophiechoice, unless Ji Hoon's character in 5F is paired with the professor's daughter, he doesn't have a potential love interest played by an actress close to his age in Five Fingers. JSY is only 19/20, so she's 10 years younger than he is.

At 30 years old, Ji Hoon is too young to have a love interest who is that much younger  because that means the actress is close to high-school age. That's why I wish the PD had made JSY look older. Instead, he's gone in the opposite direction and seems to be making her look even younger than her 19/20 years. I wish I knew why.

As long as things remain the way they are and stay innocent and platonic, I'm okay with this. However, if things start getting hot and heavy, Da Mi's super young appearance may make it hard for me to watch her in make out scenes with adult men.

@ziera25, that's an interesting idea. I would love to see JJH in a role like that. He would be hilarious and it would give him an opportunity to brush up on his fencing skills from his Goong days.

  6. I'm still waiting for full English subs of ep 5 & 6.

Tarits, like you, I don't care about the love angle in 5F either. I don't care who gets together, or if no one gets together. That's why it doesn't matter to me who the second lead female is, just as long as she's not distracting to the drama overall. My interest is squarely on JJH, Chae Si Ra and Ji Chang Wook's characters.

So far, each actor has been incredible. I can't wait until I have fully subbed episodes that I can watch.

  7. Judging from these photos of JJH in character at the piano, I think I can see why he has that hairstyle. Even through still photography, his hair is dynamic and seems to have a life of its own. He's really working that hair in these photos.

I love how relaxed and casual he looks in his photos wearing shorts. He seems to love the comfort of that style. It doesn't hurt that he also looks so good.
    :))

  8. Thanks to everyone for continuing to make this thread a beautiful refuge. I appreciate all the pictures and videos of JJH.

I hope all of the Five Fingers cast is staying strong throughout this behind the scenes mess. I don't normally care about ratings. However, in this case, I'm glad the ratings are better than expected because that's one less thing for the cast to be concerned about.

@lualm, thanks for posting the forward version of this Lowdown 30 video. The first time I watched the backward version, I was confused until the last few moments. That's when I realized it was shown in reverse. I find both versions of this video fascinating. I wouldn't mind seeing a movie based on the video. Yes, it would be dark and tragic, but I think it would also be very interesting because JJH is so good at portraying dark, complex characters.

The grittiness of the video goes well with the somber, rawness of the song. JJH looks so different that, even though I've seen this video several times, I still can't tell it's him. It's amazing what a difference a little facial hair can make.

  9. Congratulations to Ju Jihun and the rest of the cast and crew of I Am King.

After filming I Am King and now promoting it while also working on Five Fingers, he's probably planning to take some well deserved time off after the end of Five Fingers. I hope we won't have too long a wait until he chooses his next project after Five Fingers.

Look at me, I'm already anticipating missing him even though I Am King just opened and Five Fingers hasn't even started yet. I'm such a greedy fan.

    :))

  10. I love how these reviews mention that this movie is JJH's comeback vehicle in their headlines. That's good press for his fans and it may also peak the interest of those who tend to be curious about actor comebacks in general. It's also good to see JJH's acting talent highlighted because that could appeal to those who are not familiar with JJH and may wonder if he's just another pretty face. Yes, he's good-looking, but his talent is why I'm looking forward to his new projects, so I love hearing him get credit for his skill as an actor.

The more I hear about this movie the more I want to see it. Like dramabeans, I'm also curious to see how this switch is resolved. Will it end with the real king and the pauper clearly back in their original places, or will it end with a question of which man ended up on the throne?

  11. Thanks for sharing so many beautiful JJH images. Even though he's been working hard and has a non-stop busy schedule, he appears relaxed and seems to be at a good place in his life.

It's amusing that no matter how he wears his hair or how close to the ankles his pants are, he still looks good. I keep thinking about an old dramabeans article where they wondered if he was trying to downplay his good looks. If so, it didn't work then and it's not working now.
    :))

  12. From every account I've read, Lee Chung Ah loved working on Flower Boy Ramen Shop and loved working with  all her co-stars, so the comments in this article should not be taken as a slight against anyone she worked with.

There's no need for anyone to get upset, especially since there isn't even an video to review (in this article) to see exactly what she said or how she said it. One thing I've learned from visiting this site and others is that the reporters of these entertainment pieces tend to use wording that they hope will generate notice or controversy.

Because of this, I always give the people they are reporting on the benefit of a doubt. Especially when there are language differences.

  13. @ilwoo_aein, thanks for posting the "Korea Love" interview. Very interesting comments from JIW.

The multiple choice interview questions segment was more interesting than I expected. I'm glad he's still planning to do both comedies and dramas because he's so good in both. Although he's focused on acting now, I wouldn't mind seeing him direct at some point in the future. I noticed that he said he doesn't think he's ready to direct yet, so that may be years down the line.

When he said that improvement is more important than success, he reminded me of why I enjoy his work so much. No mater what type of project he chooses, he seems to give it his all. I love that trait in an actor.

He also seems like a level-headed man when it comes to relationships. I love how he said that a good relationship relies on trust, so he would not try to control his girlfriend. Instead, he would rather end the relationship if they didn't trust each other.

I also love how the interviewer mentioned that JIW is associated with high viewership. Although I'm more a fan of his talent than whether his projects gets high ratings, I realize that high ratings are important in this industry.

I hope we hear about his next project before the end of the year, even if he doesn't start shooting it until next year.
