I don't like cheaters in general but for some reason the wife doesn't bother me as much as  she does others here. I don't hate her. I think it is because her life with PDH has really been kind of lacking in love and affection, from what I see going on between them.  She is being selfish, her affair with the CEO is making her husband's work life miserable, but she is trying to help him start a business. Trying I guess, to tie up all loose ends - so that if she ever walks away, he is in a good place. I guess.

I think the wife is driven by guilt, and most cheaters IMO have often blamed their partners for lacking affection/attention. She probably wants him to start a business to compensate for the fact that he's basically being bullied into resigning by her lover.

Sooner or later, she and that CEO will be found out for having an affair, and it'll cost him his position. DH will be obviously viewed as the wronged party and she'll be a pariah if her affair gets out.

I truly think that she wants him to get out of that company in order to ease her conscience (because he's basically serving her lover, not to mention the whole sunbae-hoobae dynamic being flipped) and avoid scandal. I'm reaching here, but she might even use the he-quit-and-failed-his-business-that's-why-im-leaving excuse once she decide to divorce him.

Unfortunately, there's just no ending this in a neatly tied bow. Hearts will be trampled on, but I honestly only care about DH's--she and CEO can both go to hell. LOL I just really wish she had been upfront about her feelings and actually exited the relationship BEFORE pursuing something with anyone. Then again, even if she did that.. I don't think DH would take kindly to her taking up with the sleazy CEO. I do wonder whether she went in that affair thinking they'll end up with each other.

  2. Hi everyone! Joining in... I was almost worried that I wouldn't like this enough due to JA's behavior towards DH, but she is growing on me. I'm not  sure how the writer will play out their relationship or if there's even gonna be a romantic one, so I'm hoping it's something tasteful.

What I'm most looking forward to is both the ceo's & cheating wife's comeuppance. I want them both in a place of never-ending humiliation and pain, like the midget CEO getting fired, and not have any other company to go to and just be bankrupt. The cheating wife, well, I want some hair pulling and possibly getting disbarred (I know I'm reaching here guys, lol, must be the actress, never liked her roles XD ), or just be completely humiliated.

Cheating is never an option, if she's truly unhappy with DH, then she should've called him out for it, tried to fix it, and then called it quits if nothing was working.

  3. @AlexMao I agree with you. Leah can be indecisive, it's actually pretty weird for her not to recognize the growing attraction (prior to the kiss) when Clark can, especially when she's already been in a relationship in the past. This has me concluding that what she had with Jigs was entirely different from his perspective, maybe Leah did have feelings for him but it was merely born out of Jigs incessant presence in her life. We can all agree that he's a tad pushy and not the type to be deterred from his goals. So maybe Leah just grew tired of saying no, and just couldn't find the courage to reject his feelings after all his effort. Who knows? My guess is that Jigs was in love, obsessed even, with Leah, more than she was with him.

I lost my post about Clark last night, ugh. Anyway, part of me wanted to smack him right over the head when he told Cullen that he doesn't intend to pursue his feelings for Leah because of his promise to both Tita Jack and Jigs. I wanted to flip the table at the time. I mean, Clack kept flirting with her, kept giving her signs, kept mock-teasing her for not owning up to her feelings and whatever it is that's going on between them BUT NOW he says that he doesn't want to pursue it?! SERIOUSLY? How can you intentionally move her heart if you're unprepared for the repercussions? Sigh. It's a good thing his good friend told him that he can't just make decisions like that until he has asked Leah if she likes/loves him back.

This just adds to Leah's indecisiveness. She's under the notion that Clark won't do anything because they both promised Tita Jack (and she's like a mother to them). So when Clark told Cullen, that he just doesn't know whether Leah likes him back because she keeps brushing every effort or declaration from him, and just acts normally around him---I wanted to hurl something at the TV (yes, Clark.. you're very hot.. but you're such a dummy sometimes. ). Of course, Leah would have an internal battle. She knows that she owes Tita Jack almost everything that she has in the States, and Clark should've realized that Leah wouldn't be showing him her feelings until such time that the issue with Jigs and Tita Jack is resolved. I guess it's now up to Clark, to show and tell Leah that he's prepared to nick his promise to Tita Jack and Jigs because she's worth the risk. When that happens, the ball will now be in Leah's court, and I will then grow frustrated with her indecisive self for awhile, I imagine. :P

And Leah is not an object. Tita Jack should be an adult and stop giving Jigs false hope. It's not worth the energy. It can probably save her a plane ticket. LOL I hope the date (Clark: Let's spend time together, it might be the last--not word for word) can actually last an episode or two before I see Jigs' stupid face in SanFran. :P

  4. I really don't know where in La-la land Jigs seems to live in. In the preview, when he heard from his mom that Leah just got her green card approved, he ecstatically exclaimed that the OTP can now file for divorce and that he and leah can finally be together. LOL I sincerely hope that Tita Jack does her job as a mom and erase that notion from his mind, since removing Clark from the equation doesn't instantly make Leah his again. What the heck is he taking? It's like he has selective amnesia, he seems to want to forget everything that he doesn't agree with, like the break up. SMH.

  5. After I made my last post it kind of dawned on me, what would Aunt Jack or Jigs gain from informing INS about Leah & Clark? Both to the best of my knowledge are pretty much in the same boat as Leah & Clark they can easily be deported and their temporary status revoked. As I see it Aunt Jack would have more to lose given how she's using her status to make money and support herself, her family etc. I can't help but think this disastrous and foolhardy.

@bella1025 I don't believe it would merit imprisonment it would result in an investigation and if found guilty they would have their status revoked, but on some official list so they could not request consideration for future immigration from the Philippines to the states and then immediately deported back to the Philippines.

I think that Tita Jack would most likely persuade Jigs against doing anything that could get them all into trouble, but we all know Jigs. He's a hot-head. He's easily ruled by his emotions, so if he chances upon the OTP being sweet on each other, I have a feeling that he'll probably land them all into difficulty with his big mouth.

I'm still reading on Green Card holders to better understand the difference between Clark's and Leah's status. As I understand, Clark gained his green card because of his mom from when she was alive/working there? Was it ever clarified whether Tita Jack petitioned for his mom, or did Clark's mom came to the States on a tourist visa and then wound up working as an illegal immigrant as well? Didn't Tita Jack also start as a tourist turned illegal immigrant, and then married a US Citizen in order to gain a Green Card?

Another thing, is Clark only a green card holder? Has he applied for US Citizenship? I think it probably makes it an imprisonable offense to commit marriage fraud for the US Citizen entering such a marriage. And yes, if the OTP both are Green Card holder then they'd probably be deported together; which may or may not affect Tita Jack's status as an immigrant as well. I imagine there'd be further investigations, and her past fraudulent marriage to a US Citizen may come up during it.

    Penalties for Marriage Fraud

A finding of marriage fraud can have both civil and criminal consequences for the immigrant, and criminal consequences for the U.S. citizen or permanent resident petitioner.

An immigrant found to have committed marriage fraud could be removed from the United States (deported). If he or she still holds a nonimmigrant (temporary) visa, it would be revoked. In addition, the fraud would remain on the person’s immigration record, making it virtually impossible to obtain any future U.S. visa or green card.

With regard to criminal penalties for the alien as well as the U.S. petitioner, the law says:

Any individual who knowingly enters into a marriage for the purpose of evading any provision of the immigration laws shall be imprisoned for not more than five years, or fined not more than $250,000, or both.

  6. My vote is still on Jigs running his mouth to the authorities. Though he'd probably be remorseful as soon as the words leave his mouth because he, in his own petty way, seems to care a lot about Leah. The only upside to such a stunt would be that the OTP would most likely choose to still be together in order to protect each other. Marriage fraud is an imprisonable offense, I believe, so Leah wouldn't want Clark's status to be put in jeopardy, and Clark wouldn't want Leah to be deported as well.

  7. Leah would probably, in a stroke of heartache or confusion, travel back to the Philippines, but I just don't see the drama ending there. Both she and Clark have both attained a Permanent Residency status, so I doubt if Leah would waste all the hardship that she had to go through in order to be granted that. Leah would also like to petition for her family in the long run, and she understands that Clark is working in the States in order to support his siblings, so I very much doubt that she'd demand that they stay in the Philippines when all these wraps up.

I had to Google if the Permanent Residency status recently granted to Leah is voidable, and this is what I got:

    Abandoning Permanent Resident Status

You may also lose your permanent resident status by intentionally abandoning it. You may be found to have abandoned your status if you:

    • Move to another country, intending to live there permanently.
    • Remain outside of the United States for an extended period of time, unless you intended this to be a temporary absence, as shown by:
      • The reason for your trip;
      • How long you intended to be absent from the United States;
      • Any other circumstances of your absence; and
      • Any events that may have prolonged your absence.
      • Note: Obtaining a re-entry permit from USCIS before you leave, or a returning resident visa (SB-1) from a U.S. consulate while abroad, may assist you in showing that you intended only a temporary absence.
    • Fail to file income tax returns while living outside of the United States for any period.
    • Declare yourself a “nonimmigrant” on your U.S. tax returns.

So there, I really don't think that Leah would just throw away her dreams of finding her mom and possibly living there with her family. Plus, if her mom's truly alive, then she probably would want to stay there and demand answers from her.

I actually am wondering if it's still possible for Jigs to threaten Leah's status by reporting her to the immigration, for playacting (which isn't really. lol) with Clark (Oh my, was suddenly worried for our Clark as well) to gain her Green Card. I'm NOW hoping that ,if he does try and pull something like this to blackmail Leah/Clark, he gets deported and NEVER ALLOWED ADMISSION to the States FOREVER.  :phew::P

This sort of enlightened me, and me worry for our OTP more.

    How Marriage Fraud Is Discovered

At various points in the immigration process, USCIS will require applicants to prove that the marriage is “bona fide,” or was entered into in “good faith.” Courts have interpreted that to mean that the marriage was entered into with the idea of establishing a life together. (Bark v. INS, 511 F.2d 1200, 1201 (9th Cir. 1975).)

The immigration laws require USCIS to pay particular attention to marriages that were less than two years old at the time that either the green card was approved (if the application was made in the U.S.) or the immigrant enters the U.S. with an immigrant visa (if coming from overseas). After applying for a green card, such immigrants will be granted one that is only conditional – that is, valid for two years. (See I.N.A Section 216.)

Within the 90 days leading up to the end of those two years, the couple must submit a new application to USCIS and attach documents proving that their marriage is ongoing and still the real thing. Waivers are available for cases of divorce (which, by itself, is not seen as an indication that the marriage was a sham); but if the couple is simply no longer living together or the U.S. spouse is unwilling to sign onto this joint petition, there is a good possibility that USCIS will deny the petition. If the evidence warrants it, USCIS may also possibly initiate an investigation for marriage fraud.

Even if the couple makes it through this part of the process, however, the marriage may be scrutinized again if and when the immigrant later applies for U.S. citizenship. Particularly if the couple has divorced, USCIS may ask for further proof that the marriage was bona fide. .

Although most marriage-based cases are decided based on documentary evidence, the immigration authorities have broad investigative powers. They have been known to visit the couple’s home, talk to their friends, check with their employers, and so on.

  8. What both Tita Jack and Mang Sol needs to remember is that you don't CHOOSE to fall in love. You don't plan it. You have no control over it. YOU JUST FALL.  What you choose to do next is what you do have control over. If I were Mang Sol, I'd advise Leah to follow her heart. Tita Jack's judgment is still bias in favor of Jigs, so Clark won't really be able to do anything about that. Ultimately, it'll be down on Leah whether this thing with Clark will work or not, she needs to decide for herself whether she wants to pursue her heart's dictates or not. Jigs would just have to get over it. Leah wasn't his from the time she broke up with him. I just hope that Tita Jack will exercise good judgment when Jigs winds up behaving pettily towards the OTP. And please Tita Jack, don't guilt-trip Leah into getting back together with your son. If you do that, then all my respect for you will just fly off the window.

  9. I was growing frustrated with Leah in this episode.. but I can actually understand her misgivings at the same time. She already has a lot on her plate, and she does feel conflicted about having feelings for her ex's cousin; plus she feels guilty because she did promise Tita Jack. Then again, I wish that she'd be as brave as Clark next week. I don't want to see her going back and forth again, in the coming episodes.

Tita Jack mentioned that Clark used to have a gf in the past, so I'm actually dreading that. I'm not sure if they'd follow through with that and bring his ex back. Oh, I so wish they wouldn't. I don't really enjoy female 2nd leads, I guess.. hahaha, I don't really mind male 2nd leads though. LOL I especially don't like female 2nd leads from the male lead's past. Ugh. Like first loves and such. Hate that. The emotional manipulation is strong on that one.

The preview.. oh my... Clark is just a go-getter. I'm so glad that he's careful to not push Leah, but unwilling to just completely back down at the same time. I hope to see him still behaving this way EVEN with Jigs' around. I'm kind of glad that they approved the green card first before having Jigs swing by SanFro, because him ruining Leah's chances (and possibly getting her deported) would've definitely driven me up a wall and hated Jigs to eternity.

  10. SMH. What an incredibly stupid move Leah.. ..tch. =( Clark's basically asking you if you're REALLY okay with whatever it is you're pushing him to do, and then you go and do a stupid thing like get the other girl's number. Aigoo. Masochist much? LOL Then again, the "journey" wouldn't nearly be as enjoyable to watch if everything goes smoothly from the get go and you two just profess your love immediately. I keep reminding myself that the chase is what usually makes a romance drama oh-so-fun.

    Patience. Patience. :P

Clark's lines definitely made me go gaga:

  11. I'm surprised you've made this thread here in soompi, guys!

Ugh! They still won't admit there feelings for each other. This is all Aunt Jack's fault.

True. And I think we can also blame Leah's resolve to not fall in love while she's there. She's hell-bent on succeeding, and she probably still sees Clark as a distraction to her goals---a very yummy.. one at that.:phew:

Clark would have to make the first move to get there, imo. Though, he'd probably be conflicted (AND JEALOUS) once Jigs arrives. Leah needs to be pushed to express her feelings, and Clark's the best candidate for such a task. They'd have to be allowed the time to express those feelings though, which Tita Jack/Jigs might take away from them.

That "push" might come sooner though. Ackkkkkk did you see the preview of leah being jealous and chasing after clark in the rain?

I did!!!! Waaaah.. so much feels... and then he turns up behind her and shelters her from the rain!! OMG, LEAH.. How can you not WANT TO FEEL for this awesome guy?!!! HOW?!!!

Grabs paper bag: *inhale, exhale!!* I haven't seen the episode yet, but I'm already having trouble breathing! Hahaha. How can you all comment after seeing?! *gonna hide myself away from Internet till its available*

    Btw, thanks for recap!

I was actually squealing so hard while I was watching it on TV. So I really couldn't type word for word.. but I did try to remember the OTP scenes and typed the dialogue exchanges between them. I only ask one question every after episode... Where does the time go?!!

I hope to see you all again here tomorrow. :D

  13. Leah: It's alright if you want to have a girlfriend. As long as you are careful... (not to get find out)

Clark: Leah.. I have no time for that. It's just you. No one else.

Then he spoiled it all by saying ...as friends. ugh.. >_<

    OMG!!!! Squeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!

I counted 12 or so kisses.. some brief and sort of lingering ones.. eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!

what?! 12? Seriously?! *sheeekk!!!!* Oh woah. *my brain is fried*

I counted every brief smack! XD And the lingering ones, especially the ones that Leah initiated. And when Clark was carrying her. XDDD I wish they'd stumbled on the sofa, they'd have been far more comfortable kissing there. Hee! XD

    In the preview:

Leah: (hiding inside the restroom after avoiding Clark in one stare-fest scene) *talks to self* ... no.. I don't like him. I cant..

*finally opens the door and sees Clark on the other side*

Clark: What were you doing in there?

    Leah: Using the restroom...of course

Clark: *skeptical* (I'm not sure if he heard her when she was talking to herself inside) Really? Hiding your feelings, perhaps?.

    Eeeeeeeee.... <3

  14. These two! I swear. If only they'd just admit it to each other.. or at least welcome the shift in the relationship so that they can spend more time together and be cute with each other-----but nooooo... it won't be long now, and Jigs is sure to demand all of Leah's free time and attention. I wonder how Tita Jack will feel about the changes with the OTP, and if she'd actually demand that the two deny their feelings in favor of her son's.

Oh .. and Jigs wants to surprise Leah. I sure hope we get another kiss between the OTP to surprise him. =P

I feel a little worried about Diane's daughter, she wanted Clark to meet her daughter, right?

Clark is going somewhere for work, and told Leah that he'd be gone for awhile--testing the waters perhaps? But Leah.. tsks.. just tells him that it'll be good for him. Clark's friend just swing by to tell him about a job that he wants to offer to Leah (since he can't work with Clark)... but Clark is against it. Fortunately~~~ he still went ahead and told Leah about it.. and she agreed to it.. and now.. THEY'RE TOGETHER!!!!! Not sure if this is a cleaning, or housesitting job.. but they're together!!!! I'm so happy!

  16. OMG. I've been out of Soompi for quite a while.. but THIS drama made me check our community again. I feel a little guilty for only having discovered this awesome drama recently, especially when it's a local drama from my own country. Anyway, this drama is such a gem, and although I know that it's going to be a looooooong ride (since it's a daily.. ugh), I find that, I don't really mind.

I'm so excited for the kiss! I heard and read that there will be kiss-es XD Kyaaaaaa... I can't wait.

Oh.. and a big HELLO to everyone!!!! *waves*

  17. I'm not sure if this has been asked, but is there any way to bring back the Bookmarks section? I miss it. I still have the old Bookmark section, bookmarked on my browser. :( It was the most convenient feature from the old site because you can check right away if there are new posts on your favorite threads, and when you click it, it automatically brings you to the last page you've been in. In the new thread, when I bookmark a page I've last been in, and I try to jump pages (the next time I go online), sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't.

The follow feature fills up my email inbox, so I just opt to not receive those notifications by email.

Oh, and is there a limit to liking posts? Sometimes, I get:

You are not allowed to give reputation to this user

and then I'd have to refresh the page to like the post. The post reflects that it received my like after I've refreshed it at times, though it doesn't on some occasions.

  18. OMG.. I just read joonni's recap (Thanks joonni!).. so that explains why YR always manages to get inside the station room!!!! She always calls for GD whenever she's drunk, and I assume that he ALWAYS princess carries her inside. Kyaaaaa. This explains why he has come to like her all of a sudden. Nice touch, writer-nim. Although, I'm still really bummed out that you couldn't even give them another scene after that. Again, these two need their own drama.  <:-P
