  1. I really like that this drama is about letting go of past grudges, forgive, and move on. At first i was dissapointed to see Manweol and Chung myung's story end just like that, but well, i guess the past is the past and theres not much to say to each other anyways.

Episode 16 i think will tell the story of how the bartender Lee Ji Uk lets go of his shame and grudge, and lastly, how ChanSung will let go of his new work family.

this drama is one that keeps its constant pace until final episodes imo. another good one from TVN wow

Oh and I wanted to say, the fact that Man-wol kept the medicine jar...I wonder if a time will come when she will slip it into Chan Sung's drink or something like that...

totally thought of this too! from years of watching k-dramas pretty sure if this scene is gonna happen, it'll happen on eps 14-15 ish loll

on a side note : i dont know why but i like it more if CS is not the captain, but instead he's just a new character designated to help MW  leave this world and finish her grudge with the princess/Mi Ra and the captain.

oh and plus! why do i feel like the firefly is the captain? i mean i see his silhoutte from the firefly's light... although i dont know how the story will turn out if the captain is a firefly ...

I am really curious as to who is the body inside MW's casket (from the first episode) and why did she drag it all the way to search for the inn/hotel in the first place. How did she know how to look for it, etc etc

omg cant wait for next episodes! this drama is getting better and i hope it'll keep the pace till the final episodes. another IU drama i'm a fan of

I would definitely trust MDL on the ratings. From my own experience, anything rated above 8 in MDL, they are good. But of course it doesn't mean everyone has to enjoy a popular drama. Sometimes, the most popular ones ends up being not up to our taste. Different people have different tastes. But I definitely would consider watching it, if so many people have liked it, then it means there is something in it that has spoken to the audience.

I have heard lots about both Nirvana in Fire and The story of Ming Lan. Nirvana in Fire, especially, considered as a Masterpiece. So do give it a try!!!! I hope you enjoy it.

started story of MingLan, just on episode 10 but its already so good  hahaha

MDL has never been a credible source. It's fan edited. I'm pretty sure the other drama with YY and ZS was also a fan created one. Sighhh. Don't get false hopes guys. And never trust MDL. Lol.

would you trust MDL with their drama ratings? because i've been thinking to start either the story of ming Lan or nirvana in heaven since they are the highest xian xia drama ratings in MDL loll

i rmb coming across some on yt too, but if you still can't any w subs, perhaps I could try putting up the subs here, as I translate the fanfics.

nahh its okay i watched all the non subbed ones on yt, thankyou though for the offer,

how about presscons ? have you watched any ? i remembered they dont have much budget for the promotion i think thats why its hard to find any fancam of presscons. i know they did one in thailandd (i think..?) and one on set with them on costumes. but thats about it haha... still need to cure the drama hangover

  6. its already almost a year after the drama ends but so little english subs for the BTS scenes :(. really loved this drama and the chemistry between the characters, i feel like i would be so fun to watch their interactions off screen. if anyone know of any BTS subbed videos really appreciated if you could share the link because i've watched all of the non subbed and the viet subbed ones haha. nothing cures a withdrawal like fun BTS scenes

But as I said in one of the comments on my blog, do not be stuck with these small details. Go for the BIG PICTURE that the writer and director want us to see. There’s a postscript shown in the final credits. “Trust is the magic that changes the world, not the technology.” When you focus too much on the “technology” or the MECHANICS of the show and the logic of the GAME, you lose the real meaning of the kdrama. Go beyond this. :D

OMG THANKYOU for giving me such a long and comprehensive reply ! and really loved this quote btw. This quote doesnt apply only for MOTA but actually for kdramas we watch.

nice knowing you and your blog see you in another forum!

I find it interesting that SSJ's many parallelisms eluded many critics of her show  The dead knight for instance is a common trope. He's the ghost that warns of death to follow.  "Dead men tell no tales."  His appearance is like music from NPC Emma's guitar music. Her music also warns Jinwoo that an attack is imminent and that death aka NPC Hyunsuk is coming for him.

I explained them all here, if you're interested.  It has lots of pictures too.

    http://bitchesoverdramas.com/2019/01/24/memories-of-the-alhambra-ep-1-and-16-wrap-up

I'll probably watch W soon. I"m beginning to see how this writer can be easily misunderstood.

I really love your blog expecially the ones about MOTA because you are one of the people who don't question the logic of the game because i really get how the game works. i dont understand how Jinwoo is a bug but you have already kindly explain it in your blog, and i find it plausible. the only incosistency i get is when Sec Seo is getting murdered, Jinwoo is still on the train that takes him away from Granada, he got a message that he's away from the game server (which is in Granada), also the message thar Prof Cha gets when he ran away from Seoul after being Jinwoo's ally, he's away from the game server in Seoul. No NPC can get to them if they are out of the town. But JW also said that he still can see Cha Junior even in the US. from the story line, i didnt think US has been included in the game server, because the game is developed only for Granada and Seoul. So why can JW still see junior Cha? maybe the server region only works for the game NPC (meaning the soldiers and the terrorists)? That i think, is one inconsistency that i still hasnt get, maybe you have an explanation for that? sorry if you have written this somewhere in your blog, i might miss it. :D

BTW W is so good, except for the ending. hahaha atleast in my opinion.

  9. i really think the whole show is perfect other than the fact that how the hell is Jin Woo a bug..?? i mean he's a player right? is he a bug because he's "the master" which is not supposed to be programmed in the game ? so if Jin Woo actually did not rescue SeJu from being the master, is Se Ju the 'bug' thats supposed to be stabbed?

well wont get the answer now i dont even know why i'm asking in the first place :sweatingbullets:

I am sure disappointed about the ending. But when I look back I am fully immersed with JW and HJ.. I can feel there pain. I'm just thankful that such character exists. There love is real! One thing I'll take from these two is TRUST. I have learnt to trust my other half whatever the situation is and how HJ did. Very rare to find such love.. :bawling:

couldn't have said it better myself, completely agree

I hope Sejoo will help JW and fix the errors or eliminated the bug. Don’t just sit and cry Sejoo! You are the developer, you know everything about the game! Help your future brother-in-law and make MOA end with a Happy Ending! :lol:

I really hope this will be the finale story :( i wish SeJu has some kind of role as a developer, it is right to start and end it with him too. There's gotta be more to him than just dissapear and be found lol this is my last 20% hope of a good ending for me. As for JW - HS at this point i have given up any hopes of good ending for them :bawling:

  12. omg i knew Zombie Cha is gonna come sooner or later when Prof Cha asks for the server to be turned on again. I think Professor Cha and Jin Woo were save for quite a while because of the glitch after Jin Woo plucked out the keys from his heart. Well somehow when old geezer Cha asked to turn up the server, the game is on again and thats when Zombie Cha shows up again (why you ask? i dunno, i gave up in finding the red line).

IMO verdict after watching episode 15 is : 80% sure tomorrow will be a disappointing finale after all :( but still gonna watch it tho, overall, this is still a good drama.

Good suggestion to let the stuff that doesn't make much sense go. This was always billed as a fantasy suspense drama, and I think it's delivered on that front.

It's just that we may have also wanted more of the romance element, especially since "Memories of the Alhambra" is actually SUCH a romantic title, and the guitar piece with that name is an opulent romantic Spanish guitar fare. Plus, I personally wanted HJ to be able to be a fighter in the game along with JW. Oh well. We can't always get what we want. - to quote an old song.

Anyway, it's finale weekend. Even if it may not be a logical ending, let's hope for an emotionally satisfying ending. The writer can do that, for us, right?

yupss, for me its been good so far i just dont want to be dissapointed of the ending.

it will be nice if they close it with a nice romance element, actually, hyunbin and shinhye on the streets of granada (without it giving off as any product placement scenes you know what i mean? hahaha :D)

I asked my fellow kdrama binger to watch this show live with me and this was her reply, "game-type, mysterious, twisting plot..I can't watch that", this was actually her reply.

I have to quote your sentence. from my experience in k drama watching land, i think this sentence really explains a lot. People just have different taste thats all i think. I have a friend who said she cant watch those dual reality, plot twisting, need heavy thinking dramas. So she doesnt really like goblin, W, nine time travels. Me for instance, i cant stand typical romance dramas like The Heirs, Encounter, Whats wrong with secretary Kim (yep shoot me), moonlight drawn by clouds (shoot me twice), even Descendants of the Sun. :sweatingbullets::sweatingbullets:

So for those who are trying to make sense of the loopholes, my suggestion is let it go coz welll its kinda youre in for a fantasy drama. In my personal opinion, this drama is actually better than W and Nine time travels (from the same writer).

You clearly haven't watched Moon Lovers - starting from episode 11 all I wished was for the drama to end so the pain would finally stop. If I survived that show I'll survive this even though it seems the anst will only increase with each passing episode.

Honestly, this is something I've suspected that might happen from the moment I saw that wire fasten around OG's heart in episode 2 - if you have something that looks like a torture device  around your heart that can mean only something bad - the original function of the GGG was a torture device - to bring pain to the proud Monkey King and to bring him to heel. And from the moment OG said SM is the only one who could kill him in the episode with the SNS demon I've expected this to happen sooner or later; his words sounded like a premonition/foreshadowing.

I have the last exam of winter semester on Wednesday so I won't be much activate since I need to learn. I'm looking for all your insights :)

omg briseis! i remembered you back from moon lovers loll ! hi again goodluck for the exams

  16. i dont understand something from episode 10. i thought Jin Seon Mi can already see ghosts from before she released son oh gong (which made her the SamJang). its weird that when the SamJang transferred to the book lady she also loses her ability to see ghost. I thought when she's no longer SamJang, those evil demons will not be attracted to her blood anymore, but still retains her ability to see ghosts. I dont know whether its a missing plot or its a deliberate plot that will be explained in later episodes. still love this drama so much though.

His Last Vow - Never Burning Out, Never Giving Up

“Even people who don’t seem like they’ll ever die…eventually die.”

Eventually, even the stars burn out. Just like Wang Moo’s star when he died, a star in a indistinctive constellation, a star almost no one remembers 1000 years later. However, WANG SO’S STAR STILL HAS NOT BURNED OUT - HE IS SIRIUS, THE CELESTIAL WOLF, THE DOG STAR THAT IS STILL SHINING BRIGHTLY IN NIGHT’S SKY EVEN IN THE 21ST CENTURY. He CAN’T BE DEAD EITHER.

“In regards to Lady Hae Soo, I don’t think she was from this world. When you think back on things, there are many instances you realize it. You need to forget her. If you long for a person you cannot reach, you’ll end up like me.“

After Jimong gives So the final confirmation that his Soo’s truly from a different world, where even his absolute power can’t reach, and then leaves IT’S THE FIRST TIME IN WS’S LIFE WHEN HE IS ON THE VERGE OF DEFEAT; his life comes full circle as he becomes the lone wolf once again, his only mate, his brothers and pack all gone. And just as he is ready to admit his father was right, JUST AS HE IS READY TO GIVE UP AND CONCEDE HIS DEFEAT, HE REMEMBERS HER - how she told him about the possibility of them meeting in a different world and time - AND IT GIVES HIM A THREAT OF HOPE, he grasps it and does not let go. If HS could find him in his world, why couldn’t he find her in hers; it was always HIM who kept coming to her so why couldn’t he come to her once again? Then So takes off his mask for the last time, wiping the make-up away, TOUCHING AND REVEALING HIS SCAR TO GIVE HIMSELF HOPE, TO MAKE HIMSELF REMEMBER HER because the scar he used to hate so much is the reason he could be with his Soo. It gives him the strength to survive another day in a world without her and not to give up hope that one day they’ll meet again.

OMG YASS! DAMN GURL! behind you all the way on this paragraph. I mean! yes! that's why contrary to many other people i actually loved the final episode so much  and i didnt think that this is an open ending for possibilities of season 2, i mean this scene is just to show wang so's determination to find the girl he appreciates so much. I mean,... what thats the point of having a modern wangso who will take a one effin minute glimpse of go ha jin and then doesnt even remember who she is.. that defeated the whole concept of moon-crossed lover. a remake must have its own distinction from the other versions and i think if the ending is like that, then its gonna be like the C-version and it will most definitely be unsatisfying in my opinion. I think the K version has suceeded in terms of making a distinct and unique version out of the novel and the c-version.

also in contrary of many people's opinion who doesnt like the placement of Haesu and Wangso's piggyback ride scene, i dont know why but i was really satisfied and i loved that scene so much that it brought a smile on my face at the end of that depressing final episode. it shows that even though HS-WS didnt work out in the end, they were atleast very happy and carefree in the time they had together. its a parallel to our lives too : "even though everyone will die eventually, but they made the most of the time that was given to them" i'm glad the ending is the same in both international and sbs version <3 <3

    1. So did Hae Soo actually change the history?? according to last scene, Gwang Jeong painting written he was a wise king (if i'm not wrong) instead of bloody king that Hae Soo's vision appear before. So does it mean that Gwang Jeong supposed to be a bloody king, and Hae Soo changed it?

    2. Why the Ji Mong from episode 1 and last episode was different?? on ep 1 Ji Mong was like a homeless man, while it changes at the final. Is Hae Soo actually didn't return to her "present time" but actually return to another parallel/timeline where the history was different?

    1. yeah so he is known as wise king and bloody monarch. not only a bloody monarch

    2. i think so too. its a parallel timeline different from the first scene, and in my personal opinion, jimong can be anything he chooses. hahaha he's like someone sent from heaven to make sure history goes the way its supposed to be.

  19. i just read some other forums and like here too, many of the comments stated that there are some greedy powerups that wanted sequel so this series serve as some kind of an "opening" for a second season. But strangely, i dont find that vibe at all.. i mean, it is normal for dramas to have open ending because that's the director style (i believe that winter the wind blows and its okay its love by kim kyu tae also have open interpretable endings ... if im not mistaken coz i watched those two dramas when they came out years ago). Also, it is uncommon to have a season 2 for korean dramas and im pretty sure i know quite a lot of korean dramas, since my mum and i've been watching korean dramas since the winter sonata period.. (i can only think of dream high, full house, princess hours that have sequels, and some other ones that are still under plans like dae jang geum and mrs cop) .Even those ones that have second seasons,  it always seems like its not planned before as they have entirely different casts from what i know, cant even be called a spin off nor sequel heck i dont even know what that's called. soo... probably if any of you guys that have different opinion with me can care to elaborate.. hehe

NB. but ofcourse i wouldn't mind a season 2 if its with the same cast
