ohemgee. the writer must've hit her head when writing the second half of the series. WR is as crazy as the ahjumma. lol. it became such a train wreck waiting to happen.
okay, i'll have faith that i'll get my MYEJ fanservice in the last episode. I really, really want those sweet, spazz-inducing scenes between LSY and Lee Dong Wook. arggghhh. (someone out there please put these two in a RomCom movie instead.)

I'm developing such a love-hate relationship with this drama. I love it cause I love LSY, and I think her interaction with LDW is magnetic. and of course, DA and Manager Kim.
but... like some had pointed out. it's annoying that the secondary characters are given spotlight. it sounds mean, but I don't dive a hoot about JH, the stalker, and even SY. I do like DS, but for the mere fact that I love Oh Man Suk, which i think he's being wasted in this drama. but honestly, like who cares about JH and her mental or behavioural problems. who cares about SY's issues?!
i love this drama because they paired up two actors I like; but man, it's disappointing that the focus of the drama wasn't on the "wild romance" of MY and EJ, but on the "wildness" of those around them. argh.
it's really hard to write/produce a very, very good RomCom, or at least sustain the romance-and-comedy aspect. it's too bad that Park Yun Sun failed in this one. she has co-written two RomCom movies that I like: love so divine and too beautiful to lie; and wrote Evasive Inquiry Agency which I really like. but her brilliance was only reflected in the first part of this series [in fact, before the arrival of JH.]

I don't think Jessica is doing a bad portrayal of her character, but someone else could've done it better. Perhaps, we can also blame it on the writer. but... the JH character shouldn't just come off as annoying. In fact, I thought their plan was the ex-girlfriend to be different than the "cliched" second female leads. but... she's just not very convincing in her part. I was thinking, since it's revealed she's suffering from a disorder, us audience can somehow give a little sympathy, but that's not the case.
whether it's the writing for her part, or her execution, all I can say is that the JH character feels like simply placed in the drama for the sake of having a second lead/hindrance for the OTP...

btw, i'm sure some of you have seen Lee Shi Young's stint on We Got Married. i'm rewatching her scenes with JJ, and I can see a little EJ in [WGM] LSY. so cute!

just wanna share my sentiments regarding the ratings.
I adore Lee Shi Young so much that i sympathize with her. ratings are just numbers, but it's still considered a part of a drama's success--or lack thereof. I'm just hoping it doesn't discourage her [or Lee Dong Wook]. the acting department was really good. the flow of the story could've been better, but it's still good enough for me.
i'm not fond of Jessica, and I'm not afraid to say that. it's my opinion that she shouldn't have been casted. I could've come up with a dozen or so actresses that could've played support. when she was rumoured-then-announced as part of the cast, it turned me off a bit. but I love Lee Shi Young too much not to watch this. (heck, i endured Poseidon, hoping her chemistry with Si Won would be well utilized.)
but if the production/casting department/or even the writer thought that casting an idol would've sufficed and survived against an eye candy-filled historical drama, they're wrong. the problem with casting idols, and yes i'm being biased, is that even if the drama flops, they still have another career to go back to. but with actresses like LSY/LDW, drama successes or failures are the main thing in their resumes.
okay with that said and done...
it's fun to see LSY play this role of EJ. very convincing. I just get so impressed everytime i think back to her Boo Tae Hee character. such worlds apart but played by one actress. that itself shows her prowess as an actress.

to appear in that MBN interview is a tiny step, but a step forward nonetheless. at least they had the chance to DIRECTLY promote Their Rooms... (they seem like indie artists who have gathered admirers/supporters but still couldnt break through mainstream).
hmm, just screencaps alone, it seems despite "things" happening, the boys are happy and satisfied. it is indeed a satisfying feeling to put out something that's really one's own "blood&sweat".

this song is stirring some angry emotions in me, especially the rap part. the rapping was rapid and crude [i dont mean this is a bad way], but one could tell it was a mixture of pain, anger, resentment, disappointment.
and then the singing (of JaeSu) in that completely give an explanation why such anger. their voices sounded sad and pleading.
it's a song that's really putting out their raw emotions. this isnt a song an idol should be singing. it's not catchy. it's not soothing. but it's an honest song. for that, they should be applauded. it's a music journal/anecdote more than a music essay. the boys basically put themselves out there for fans and others to criticize and/or acclaim.

only thing we can do is to keep supporting and believing in them. it's tiring for the three guys, i'm sure; but it's also tiring for their fans. but hopefully their fans wont waver. march seems like a long time, but i feel that JYJ receives a lot of support from families and friends [and of course us fans]. they will be able to get through this.

For some reason,Im not that nervous about the hearing.I really feel that JYJ have a very strong case esp. that some politicians(??~based on some news) are already taking notice.Today's not really the ruling, just the final hearing but still... best of luck to the boys!! JYJ Fighting!! ^^
i'm echoing that.
i dont have a strong grasp on what's happening, what's gonna happening and what MIGHT happen regarding the lawsuit. ive stayed away from this issue the moment JYJ left/was dropped by Avex. so, honestly im not entirely in the know of how significant this day will be for JYJ/JYJers.
before, i felt that a [final] decision would mean a possible reunion for the five and SM as well. now, i feel that whether JYJ wins the case or not, going back to SM is no longer an option. I wouldnt want that either, not after that brouhaha on twitter [with people dipping on a business they're technically not involved with...]
i think my biggest concern, win or lose, is whether JYJ will finally be able to appear freely on [music] public broadcast. it's too unfair for such talent to be restricted.
win or lose, keep your head up JYJ!

Epi 9 ended beautifully....Awwww, so gentle and peaceful.
I do not know if this signals the couples, but I'm okay with all three (the strange village lady and the office guy with glasses) rounds out the pairings.... ooh, i hope you'll love ep10's ending, if you havent seen it yet. its not a major plot movement but it helps with the romantic aspect of the story.
then again with Saengchori... things can be twisted. i mean, we didnt even get a follow-up with ep9's ending. it was a beautiful ending but the beginning of ep10 didnt really touch upon it.

I introduced this show to my mom and she was so glad. it was a stress-reliever for her. as expected, her favourite character is Mr. Palli Palli. lol. however, my mom seems to be riding the ship of EJ-MS pairing. grrr. i still see no romantic chemistry with MS ans EJ - only bickering boss/employee rapport. [i know an oxymoron heh] what im honestly hoping though is a brewing BROmance between MS and JM. i think those two could be the best of friends in a very competitive, petty-boyish way.

it's almost heartbreaking but at the same time so fulfilling for a fan to know that TVXQ/JYJ are pioneers to so many things. heartbreaking because they tend to "start" a trend or "open doors" for others but have to be the first ones to suffer. for example, when they entered the Japanese music industry. the boys started so low and reaching the top [heck, they actually havent completely reached it] was such a slow process. [tell me, how many of today's kpop groups now popular in japan had experienced performing on a wet stage covered with newspapers?] our toho boys went through that before being able to perform in highly popular shows like Music Station and the prestige Kouhaku.
tbh, i sometimes tend to whine that it's almost unfair that tohoshinki went through a long and hard process while others can't. but then, as a fan, i'm proud that i can -in a very biased way- say it's because of what tohoshinki did and accomplished that other groups are now easily accepted in jpop.
and now, as that looong article indicated, JYJ is somewhat starting to pioneer a different kind of entertainment agency-thing. again, why should our boys suffer for the kmusic industry to change again?! i really hope that years from now, when people look back on what JYJ had done, they would applaud and admire their courage to break away from what could've been a stable career [which is what i feel HoMin chose]. JYJ is like performing on thick ice. it's stable for now, but we'll never know when it will melt.

the way i see it, i think this drama is beyong logical reasoning. by that, we have to suspend some sort of disbelief in understanding how the plot unfolds. it's the not the typical drama where things have to make sense. if, for example, MS ends up with EJ, it doesnt have to make sense. it happens because that's how "life" is. EJ doesnt need to be the right person to be the right pairing for MS. this is what i like about the drama. so for me, i dont buy the EJ isnt responsible enough to be MS's wife. or NY for that matter - altho she looks really young for MS.
but with how things are in ep9, i just cant see EJ with MS. yeah it's cute, some of their little interactions; but the drama is already halfway and there's just nothing that really equates EJ and MS to be together. at least for me. as for JM, we've seen how much feelings he's invested in EJ. and i do agree, i think deep down EJ does like him. she's a completely different person when she's drunk, but she was still able to dial his number and tell JM he's a bad guy [taxi scene = one of my fave scenes!]
NaYoung is cute; but i wish they've gotten someone a weeeee bit older-looking if she were going to be paired up with HSJ. NY looks even younger than MS's sister.
im looking forward to the upcoming eps. i didnt plan to watch all the way to ep9, but good, fun dramas are lacking right now. i couldnt stop watching Saengchori. plus, i really like Lee Young Eun [esp after Likeable or Not]. so that's a bonus too.

this drama is awesome and HIGH-larious. i love the laugh-out-loud moments. wacky and random scenes dont even bother me. heck, not one character annoys me even with an annoying personality [eg. Park Gyu and his daughter]. so happy i stumbled upon this drama.
I'm a EJ/JM couple fan.....She drinks and party's too much to be with a responsible guy who has 12 mouths to feed. She would stress out an binge drink to forget her life....
i like this couple as well, altho if it goes the other way [EJ/MS] i dont think i'd mind.(<- but only cause i love HSJ and LYE in Summer Whispers film). with that said, i'd be terribly devastated if JM doesnt get his EJ at the end. he's just so in love with her and they clearly showed/still showing it. so, it'd be a tragedy for his character to still lose his girl by drama's end.

i hope the trailer kinda dispelled some doubts from others who think either or both actors were miscasts.
from the trailer, it really seemed as if both Kazehaya and Sawako came to life. well, at least in my eyes. Tabe even got the sweet voice Sawako has.

If you don't know her name you can spend 30s to look at the 1st page. It's been a few posts and it's always PSY and "the other actress", "the other girl".... Or better yet, spend 1s and look at the post right above you...
pls dont sound so snarky about it. if not writing her name was offending, then i apologize. i didnt think anyone would find that rude. but let's not make the thread a displeasing one. altho while i'm at it, it's a little offending to PSY fans like me to read that they prefer EJ over her [there, i wrote the name so i hope that makes the apology sincere] even before the drama starts. i could totally go oversensitive with you not even quoting me but "lecturing" me, but i do see why it could be rude to EJ's fans that i'm not writing her name. sigh... so again, i'm sorry...
anyway, i didnt think Coffee House would cause a wee bit of controversy [in soompi] about casting the main leads. i'll probably return interest into this drama when it's all completed and subbed.

Me too, I actually wanted PSY to be the lead. I think she matches KJH's physique and aura better..
But oh wellz, we never know what'll happen..

i think the problem here is that we're desegnating "leads" to just two actors. it seems we have THREE LEADS here: namely KJH, PSY and the other actress [sorry, i really dont know her!]. i've actually accepted the fact that the romance might go into different direction than what im hoping for.
randomly-related: PSY chooses drama in which we're not sure whether she's "main" or "supporting". it's so reminiscent of When Spring Comes, where I thought she's the "lead girl" but it turns out it's Lee HaNa. even with A Bittersweet Life and A Man's Story. one thing for sure, the projects she chooses are usually well-written or well-acted, so i'm excited for this.

) i'm not surprised really since the trailer had more scenes of kjh and the other actress together. heck, even in the OST MV, KJH and PSY didnt interact [assuming it was KJH at the end of the mv...]

I've seen the teaser, and while I dont believe in judging wholly from it, my first impressions see no chemistry between KJH and the other girl.

Either the books or movie, both I hate with a passion. I read Twilight and made an effort to watch the movie to not just hate on it because everybody else does, but everything about it is just terrible. The writing sucks, the acting sucks - all kill.
hey, at least you made the effort trying to read/watch before you judged. some people just bashed on it because of its overratedness/massive popularity. that's what drove me crazy about the anti-twilights. I understand that the book isn't well-written. but i always end up defending the series and the author [even tho she annoys me, i know weird!] to those who kept hating without trying it first. all i say is that "well she earned millions for the crap while you're not... ha!]
as a book, the writing is lame and trying-too-hard to sound romantic. the book's plot and characters had so many flaws it can take a whole year's course in university to dissect them. but, it did its job to entertain. it hooked me when I read it, but I cant reread it anymore. the story was just too over-the-top.
i have to thank the series though. it made my youngest sister read. she never picked up the book, not even Harry Potter before twatlight but now she reads so much. and reading is a very good exercise for the brain! she even realized how underwhelming of an author Meyers is compared to others. so gotta give credit where its due...

i just started watching this [w/subs of course] so i'm still only on ep5.
got interested mainly cause of Kim DongWook since i'm a fan of his. it's such a bonus that he's partnered with Lee YoonJi cause she's another actress i love watching.
i'm trying to stay away from spoilers as much as i can but from what i gathered, seems this page's focus is more on the JaeHa-HyeWon couple. i like!
some of you are discussing JaeHa and illness so that's worrying me a bit. i tend to stay away from melodramas~tragic romance stuff. i hope that's not the case. the drama seems to have a bit of a light-hearted tone so i'm hoping nothing of that grave-illness stuff, esp for the characters i like.
still, im definitely continuing with this drama since im so intrigued with the JH-HW storyline. so add me to the list of watchers for this drama.

Hmm...although I love, love Haruma I can't imagine him being Kazehaya. I don't know. I see Kazehaya as someone who is carefree, loud, outgoing, "100% refreshing" and someone who has a lot of spunk. Haruma suits more of those cool, quiet, mysterious, bad boy type characters but I'll judge after I watch the movie.
have you seen Samurai High School? that's Haruma at his loudest. that's where i decided Miura Haruma CAN REALLY act. to be able to do dual roles at opposite sides of the spectrum proves the boys can definitely adjust to his character.
btw, I never really got the impression that Kazehaya is "loud". outgoing and carefree but not loud. premature to judge but i think the casting is near bull's eye.

it's been a long time since i posted here...
but, since this is where my fandom started [and seemed like ending as well
...so i think it's not really a HUGE surprise, regarding the pause/stoppage of activities. but... it's still heartbreaking.
i feel like i'm hearing a bgm of Holding Back the Tears :sniffs:
it's almost so surreal. after reading news of breaking records, jae with avex vp, yoochun drama, junsu solo stuff... then it stops.
it's been a fun, long, quite stressful but fulfilling ride as a toho fanatic. im still hopeful, no doubt.still try to Keep the Faith. but for now... i'll stash away my cds, dvds and delete some mp3s. cant listen to tohobang music for now...
ps. it`d be nice if some of the ``old regulars` will come and post their reactions or feelings regarding this, eh.
