At first.. I misinterpreted the "green on their face" as in they're sick of looking at your face or disgusted with it. But I realized it's supposed to be envy..
When I was younger, I got comments about my two front teeth sticking out. I had a huge overbite. But it's all good with braces fixing it.

と書いたんだけど
この文では
「チキンカツを食べたことがあります」
の方が自然だと思う
でも
「食べたことがありました」自体は全然間違いじゃないよ、文法的に１００％大丈夫だから
例えば、「子供のころにチキンカツを食べたことがありました」と言えるし
ただ、「子供のころにチキンカツを食べたことがあります」と比べたらニュアンスが微妙に違うわけ
今その違いが分からなくてもいいんだけど、分かるまで「食べたことがあります」を使った方が確かだと思う

american high schools are pretty much like your school, if they're public. i dont know about private schools. :/ but yeah, there's a variiiettty of people! my school doesn't have a lot of asians though so there's no "separation" between races.
what bothers me though is that people are really touchy. couples make out EVERYWHERE and the teachers don't even say anything. when i have to walk by them i'm like
my school is really not strict at all.I agree with how annoying the PDA is. What's so great about making out at school? Really now. My school has these breezeways (they used to be locker bays) and people always are making out there. It just so happens that the bathrooms are in the breezeways and high school bathrooms are so disgusting! I mean, why are they making out right there unless they want to get a whiff of that shh..t!

Do you have IB in England? AP resembles it. At the end of the school year, there are AP tests. It is in May. It is very (very) hard! I have 5 AP classes.
The bad thing is that from today on, my teacher will not be here. From now on, there will be substitute teachers. There are no Japanese substitute teachers. My teacher got/has a baby boy from the adoption agency. But, the good thing is that she is very happy. I am also happy for her.
Yes, I study Kanji in the classroom.
But since my teacher and my fellow students don't know what will be on the test, I'm just going to learn whatever I want. I don't care if it won't be on the AP test, because I'm disappointed that I'm not learning anything new at all. I would feel happy that I'm learning something and enjoy the Japanese language. I had a lot of time in the classroom, so I studied so much kanji because I like it.
AP are advanced courses in high school. For the entire school year, we learn the subject material and prepare for the AP exam in May. The class revolves around the "AP exam." It's because if you do good on the exam, you can earn college credit.

I can’t say it in Japanese; therefore, I will say it in English. My class is mixed with 5-6 students and AP students. My teacher does not have a curriculum, course schedule, learning materials, etc for AP. Also, she says she can’t divide her attention to teach two different classes. Since she doesn’t know what to teach us, she said something like, “I’m sorry guys, but I have to teach the 5-6 students over you guys.”

Hi! I originally posted in the "AP thread" but I'm thinking that maybe it's best to post it here. I'm a senior and I need help. I'm taking AP Japanese, but it's a new course and has only been around for a few years. It's my last class of the day and it's mixed with 5-6 students. Our teacher concentrates on teaching the 5-6 students and we AP students learn nothing. We aren't prepared at all for the exam in May. We have no textbooks and our teacher isn't helpful. She doesn't know what to teach us, what material will be on the exam, etc. We sit around learning nothing for AP.
Basically, I'm very frustrated with the situation. I know it's impossible to get a 5 on the exam because it's too late. However, I don't want to get a 1. In the past history of the AP exam, I have never heard anyone get a 5. All the past AP students at my school never got higher than a 1. Also, my teacher knows a Japanese native teacher, whose daughters speak fluent in Japanese and took the test. I think they got a 3. That's pretty shocking (but it's still a passing score), considered that their mother is native and teaches the Japanese language as a living. I want to hear if there are any other students taking AP Japanese out there and if you can share your stories or experiences. Also, I would like some advice on what to study, what textbooks are good, etc. My teacher did buy this one textbook and makes copies for us, but it's really hard to learn from it, especially since she doesn't bother to read it and put together a lesson for us.
Yes, I understand that part of AP is independent study; however, learning a language is totally different. I believe that independent study is the worst way to learn a language. You have to immerse yourself into the language and cultural atmosphere to be able to learn and improve well. I'm not trying to put down people that do independently study language on their own, but that's extremely difficult when you have no interaction and feedback to improve.
Since my AP exam is supposed to be taken online and there is a section where I have to type in Japanese (the writing section), I'm thinking I should get a "pen pal" to help me study for Japanese. I would like someone that knows the Japanese language well. Yes, I do want someone that is serious about helping me out (I do have an huge exam, so it's good that I have someone to productive to work with) but I'm also open to ideas of making new friends.

Hello. I'm interested in the yogurt facial from Bubzbeauty video, but when I went to go buy the yogurt, I bought "plain yogurt" as opposed to "natural yogurt." Would plain yogurt have the same results as the natural yogurt? If not, please explain and tell me the difference between the two. Thank you!
