    Its been a nice end to 2014....
    off topic...was happy Song Jae Rim and Kim So Eun won best couple on MBC Entertainment award  last night...
    And today it's our Dalpaeng couple!!!

    Jang Hyuk recently finished filming MBC drama ‘Fated to Love You’ which gained attention due to his reunion with Jang Na Ra after 12 years. Starting with the shampoo scene, his character in the drama Lee Gun was completed as a comical(manga-like) character and breathed in Jang Hyuk. It seems to be a current trend in drama character making, to exaggerate a character in the beginning for comic setting and let it flow smoothly into melo scenes in the latter half of the drama; and Jang Hyuk completely owned it. He credited it all to Jang Na Ra who ‘built the house well and waited for him’, but it is his own work that balanced out the energy between comic and melo scenes.

    Jang Hyuk got famous as ‘little Jung Woo Sung’ after his debut, with his rebellious mask. Through movie ‘Volcano High’ he grew as a promising movie star, and he received loved for a long time as a highteen star. After he aged a little, he added on his filmography a couple more of representative works, such as ‘Chuno (Slave Hunters)’ or ‘Tree with Deep Roots’. In his 17 years of acting life, what stands out are projects overwhelming with his unique energy. That’s why he is always called ‘passion Jang Hyuk’. Wouldn’t ‘Fated to Love You’ also be recorded as one of those projects for him?

    Jang Hyuk of September 2014 who just finished this FTLY seemed like he had a lot of thoughts. No matter what the question was, he immediately poured out long answers. It’s a proof that he thinks a lot usually.

    JH: In acting Lee Gun, I thought of controlling him through keep hitting him, like dribbling. If we have to score a goal through this scene, director and Jang Na Ra was passing the ball to each other, and I was dribbling the ball.

    JH: I don’t sit in the back seat of a car when my manager drives. I always sit on his side. If I sit in the back, my manager becomes my chauffeur. But if I sit next to him and talk, he becomes my colleague. And I talk about the drama with stylist staff sitting in the back. We read scenario together and find the answer together. I believe we have to make it together.

    Q: Did you watch original version of FTLY by any chance?

    JH: I did. What I felt after watching was that, it’s same gimbap (rice roll…? korean sushi..? seaweed wrap…? how do I translate it?) but of a different kind. Isn’t gimbap something like that? If differs by what material you put in. In Taiwan original version, the male lead wasn’t as comic as Lee Gun. In our case, first our director wanted a comedy, and I answered ‘If you want I can throw it all, but please just make sure I can come back.’ Because director made me trust him, I could play Lee Gun. On top of all, Jang Na Ra the actress built the house well. She built the house well, so that when I came back to join her, it wasn’t awkward at all.


    Q: Do you snap out of characters easily?

    JH: I’m pretty cold in that aspect. No matter how much in love I am with my character, I’m well trained to cut it off. When I’m working, sometimes I end up filming two different projects at once. If I’m still holding on this character, I cannot act that character. In this kind of situations, I learned to just snap back to myself. Even when I’m not filming, when I go to promotional works and get treated well, I keep thinking ‘This is not mine’.

    Q: What is your strength in your opinion?

    JH: Passionate. That’s my only strength, there’s nothing else. But this passion is getting stronger every year. I think I am now more passionate than my 21 years old self.

    Sweetest rom-com ever in Kdrama Land.!And I'm so happy it is from Jang Hyuk and Jang Nara. To me it is like a continuation of Successful Story of a A Bright Girl. Great couple combi! Muacks! Next, Best skinship ever, hehehe, can't help feeling Miss Jang Nara is making up for the "lost" skinship in SSBG. Who cares about ratings, this drama has simply amazing, and boo to those who missed it.

    My greatest wish is JH and JNR tackle a saeguk!!

    Oh my gosh the video is killing me, Geonni looking so sad, exhausted and in so painned. Plus MY crying. And this is supposed to be a romantic comedy. Geonni's laughter today did no magic to the overall sadness of this episode. Good thing the secret's out and time for MY to get Geonni to behave!!

    Geonni  preparing the memories for his future self is so heartbreaking. Well at least MY got the words out of his mouth, and that he loves her, and they have a beautiful child

    Well looks like the 'new' room marks a new beginning!

    oh dear, i hope its not any amnesia twist as speculate - and i doubt it coz the other Monday drama just had one, its so old school.

    and i really love this version of the FTLY, it feels like an awesome Manga adaptation, where all other real manga adaptation had failed.

    would like to think that Geonni imagines he sees MY and not Que Sera Sera (after all its been bye-bye Sera Sera since MY came along). And Sera gets the point and leaves and just go focus on her ballet - after all its her 1st, if not her true love.

    I will trust the writer, who has given me so much faith in the drama ( I did watch the Taiwanese version) - its not draggy like the other K-dramas adaptations. But I'm absolutely annoyed with the secretary, who did not inform MY of Geonni's blackout. I hope our Geonni will  TOTALLLY FREEZE him and turn him into the only snowman in summer!

    Its amazing how the writer manages to inject comedy amidst the recent spate of makjang, and I believe the makjang is going to be shortlived, and this time around, I pray it will be MY's turn to entertain us in the 2nd half of the drama.MY must take charge and save our worned-out Geonni.

Ki will always be caught in the middle, daughter of Korea by birth but daughter of Yuan by marriage, for Ki, there is no answer. She will never be in the right, anything she does will be deemed as wrong by one or the other.

    Was this a satisfying ending? Yes. In a way, I was expecting this, but I wanted to see Ki walking away from the palace as the last image instead."

    This conclusion is awesome. I too would like Ki walking alone, as she is the only one standing. This story is about her anyway.

    However, while I do feel the her love for TH at the end, I still believe she feels more for WY. Her scene with the dead WY was more heartwrenching then her love confession scene with TH. She had loved 2 men in her life. Both had loved  her dearly as well. One has done more for her, and even had his life taken on her account. And the other one finally protected her in his last stretch of life. And both have left her. So her walking alone would be the perfect ending, no Goryeo, no Yuan, no WY and no TH. Bye, bye TalTal you're awesome and where the hell is Ayu.
