  1. I thought the archer's dad was "sick with pancreatic cancer" why isn't he dead yet? it's a lie.

Sometimes it's hard to accept a family member's death. Maybe he didn't know of his daughter's illness or he was never able to accept it. But going after the prosecutor and the other person is just plain stupid, what does he gain from that? prison for attempted murder.

I think they're going to fine.

I'm glad NGJ didn't end up with that bad lawyer, he's awful in so many ways. I hope he earns his karma soon.

Btw did Lee Jong suk had an accident ? I can't remember he had that scar on his lip on "I can hear your voice"?

  2. I tried Tinder upon suggestion from a friend, mostly because I was sick of getting matchmade with "nice" guys by family friends. Awkward at first but so far I've met two, dating one right now and we hit it off pretty well.

Online dating is very trendy, and very normal now as it's in compared to before. it's fun, you get to connect with new people outside of your friends circle, trying something new and just enjoy it.

  3. Typical korean drama would have made yk2 stopped BS from hitting JE or attempting to at least stop telling JE the truth that his wife is dead. But she did nothing. Guilt toward BS pehaps... Or maybe she thinks that the truth needs to be brought into light and stopped JE from sinkingfurther.

Like it that YK is direct and expressed her unwillingness to act as his wife any longer. Wonder if she hopes that JE will love her for who she is., her current identity

She probably thought he deserved it, she did tell him to stop thinking that she is his wife. And he kept pushing forward and insisting that he knows her so well and that she is his wife. Her mind is acting, not her heart. Maybe she felt grateful to BS, and his feelings for her...

But I don't really get their relationship, I don't feel that they are lovers in anyway, he's not being considerate of her feelings or anything. Did he ever bother asking her about JE, or how she feels towards him? Or anything? He just does whatever he want. so selfish, he's delusional.

@Lmangla That's an awesome and apt real life example for us to try to understand what BS and SR are doing. Yes, to them, it is 'love'. Deep 'love' in their warped sense of LOVE that they cannot do without, live without. They have deluded themselves to ignore the hard fact and basic need that LOVE IS A TWO-WAY STREET. If it's only a one-sided crush, with restraint for intimacy, without reciprocation, then how do they think marriage will be? Unless all they want is a marriage in name only. Like as long as they possess the person they love, and keep the person out of other peep's hands, it's fine and dandy to them.

The difference between SR and BS in this aspect is that SR is ruthless and evil in her quest to possess JE, while BS is delusional with initial good intent but veering into deception for selfish intent. The one thing in both their favors is - SR rescued JE from his close shave from a lab explosion while BS was on the road where HK just moments ago climbed out from a close shave from an accident/attempted murder schemed by TS and his minion. But who says such a favor necessarily equates to a right to reciprocal love, to marriage? Why can't they see and feel the burden and pressure of obligation they've imposed? (And same also applies to JE on YK2).

Just as writernim has penned JE as an .S.O.B. who cheated, then cruelly abandoned and divorced HK in the initial few eps, cos of LOVE that morphed into HATE, and now writernim is beginning to step up her portrayal of SR as a one-sided crush who is becoming impossible for redemption because she has no guilt, no remorse for what she did 4 years ago and is ready to do it all over again, cos of LOVE.

SR was unfeeling about confirmation from the police that HK was truly dead. SR was gloating and happy that THE competitor for JE's affection was gone forever. (Why then did she cry those tears on the steps of HK/JE's marital home? Initial shock and shame?) Thinking now she can have JE to herself.

But YK2 came into the picture and SR blamed her (their eerie pillow talk in ep 18) for her existence, for showing herself in front of JE, for messing up her engagement and wedding plan, for making JE waver and so on. SR also mocked HK for being silly in her attempt at suicide. The contrast shown of SR and YK2 - heartless almost psychotic vs heartfelt almost teary - as she recounted what happened depicted a stark difference in their personality. To SR, it's better to stay alive and fight than to die a sad death. SR said she'll never do that but instead, she will hang on to JE no matter what comes. But if she had to die, she would want to die together with JE. (OMG!) SR told YK2 because she loves JE, she can and will do anything for him. She warned YK2 not to cross the line (just cos JE wavered thinking she is HK and being attracted to her). But SR herself has no line, worse yet, no boundary to begin with. How could anyone reason/compete with SR? The rules of the game are so distinct and unequal.

SR is indeed 'Fatal Attraction 2.0'. I fear for YK2/HK's life now.

YK2 and SR - pillow talk (Ep 18)

Love is Blind. But we should also remind the that this is not the Sims. You can't put two people together and expect them to get married, have kids. Start fresh like a newborn, karma would come back and hit you in the bum for the sins you committed. I think Stepmother might be going through menopause, but who knows if it's alzheimers. She thinks she does whatever is best for her child. But sometimes they're wrong, they can't shield their child from being broken. That's impossible.

Marriage is comittment and sealed, they think that if SR and JE get married they can easily seal the deal. They don't care about what the other person is feeling. Own greed, own desire.

SR is insecure in herself, she blames others because she's too weak to blame herself. Knowing that it would crush her more than it already is. SR has a hard upbringing, sometimes I feel that she blames it for her misfortune by trying to get anything that is worthy in her eyes no matter what consequences there is. SR's love for JE is not genuine, it's more delusional because she keeps holding into the past where the love was fresh and she didn't want to work with their relationship from that. She couldn't keep his heart. Just seeing how she talks is so stupid... Shameful SR doesn't know better.

if HG regain her memories she wouldn't need to spend a lot of time to convinced him, she just need to look him with her killer eyes and said to him i'm your ex wife whom you throw away cruelly and now you want her back LOL :D

But different case if HG still have not recover her memory, i hope she didn't run after him because of her confession to him

My nightmare thought if JE eventually get married with SR  , flip table mode

In the ep where HK committed suicide, and he saved her. He also told her to go somewhere else to die without him, and I think that He won't be marrying SR, thinking that he caused HK death. Hopefully the writer will built up so much guilt in him that he would live forever in sin and alone. There will be no moral left if he continues his love relationship with SR, knowing that this adultery ultimately killed his ex that he love so much.

with the person she is now, YK2 I hope she keeps this even if she regain her memories. but I don't know about the K-writers, they tend to make it really weird and make the characters go back to their old personality for revenge.

I think there is a certain finality in death.  Up until now, JE only understands that HG suddenly disappeared and no one seems to know where she went or be willing to talk about it.  He probably thinks that everyone (his family and even HG's mom) knows that HG had some sort of accident that caused her to lose her memory.  Because it's better for JE's family if HG quietly "disappears" they didn't do anything to help her regain her memory.

In contrast, being confronted with someone's "grave" is final.  Outside of Kdrama and novels and such, it's a pretty unrealistic thing to comprehend that someone somehow escaped death and the body was mistaken.  We know that in Episode 19 he will be told that HG committed suicide.  This is a believable tale since HG previously attempted suicide before.  Combine that with HG's final words to JE (I don't regret loving you or knowing you, if I could return to my 20-year-old self, I would still choose you), it's going to be difficult for JE to believe that HG did not commit suicide.  The ashes means that someone identified the body so when you compare that and YK2 insisting that she is YK against JE's "gut instincts", then you can see where the "facts" will win out.  Especially during the initial shock phase.

In my opinion, I don't see that this point in the story arc is any more difficult to swallow than anything else.  In fact, it's more "real" than some of the other points, such as

    • Brother-in-law meeting YK2 and thinking she is YK instead of HG.  Come on, with the hair and the glasses, I didn't know that they were supposed to be the same person.  BS thinking she is YK?  Believable because he probably last saw her in high school when she had straight hair.
    • Brother-in-law Doctor thinking that YK2 and YK are the same person?  That is just bizarre to me.
    • YK's weird speaking patterns when she called brother-in-law doctor.  You're Korean, you're calling a Korean doctor, you've been e-mailing this Korean doctor in perfect Korean.  Why are you suddenly trying to speak Chinese?
    • People just having access to the executive floor of a corporation on a weekend.  Do you seriously expect me to believe that the company isn't housed in a building where the turnstiles on the ground floor don't have keycard access?  The place is obviously supposed to be deserted, and yet HG and SR are both able to just roam around and enter the executive office area?

It sucks that We don't get to know much about YK so we can't really compare them. Twins have different personality, I don't know about moles. but I know that if they have injuries through childhood - they don't have the same scars or injury. Medical full check up xD

Nobody thought of checking DNA test or birth certificate? I'm also surprised that the twins didn't keep contact, I know the parents had a bad divorce. But seriously ? this is just horrible, growing up not knowing you had a twin because of the choices were made.

I agree with you, the Doctor thinking that YK and YK2 are the same people is bizarre to me. The photos are clearly not the same, maybe he suffer from the disease? Not able to recognize their other features LOL I thought he was better than this. YK2 had short curly hair with black rimmed round glasses.

Did everyone just assume that YK just got laser treatment in a flash or wearing lenses?

There is about 7-8 dopple gangers, people who look like you in the world - they don't share the same DNA, just looks. But identical people with same DNA must be siblings.

I do hope that YK and YK2 meet, but in K-dramas I haven't seen that before. It would be interesting.

  4.

Did anyone notice that when the YK called the doctor's office. she spoke in both Cantonese and Mandarin (chinese)? So misleading, where in China is she really at?

As can be gleaned from the EXIT/ENTRY form, YK went to Shanghai, China, in 2011. In the brief telcon she had with GS, she only spoke Mandarin Chinese, and only the common telephone greeting/verbiage "Hello, how are you?" and "Yes, yes". There was no Cantonese, which typically isn't the language/dialect of use in Shanghai. But in Guangzhou, yes, since it is populated with Canton people who speak mainly Cantonese, besides Mandarin Chinese. Also, in HKG, Cantonese is like the main language/dialect of choice, except for majority of business settings, English is the main language. :):)

    CR: As tagged

Yeah I see that she's in Shanghai, but I remembered she said "Wei" Which is Hi in Cantonese." How are you" = Ni Hao Ma? Let's say that the doctor is not familiar with this and he doesn't get why she's speaking both. Chinese citizens would probably critize K-writers for adding this. Like how they did with Empress Ki. but oh well. thanks.

  5. Did anyone notice that when the YK called the doctor's office. she poke in both Cantonese and Mandarin (chinese)? So misleading, where in China is she really at?

Anyways, I believe that even when YK comes back, I don't think she will be dating BS. He does kind acts of a good friend, brother. but nothing as a lover. Can he accept that she has a child with another man? And that she might still be in love with her late husband? Perhaps not, BS can't even handle that YK2 is being swayed by her ex husband. How can he accept this? I don't feel chemistry between him and YK2 at all. They're more friends than lovers.

Relationships takes a lot of effort, listening to each other, respect each other's wishes, love each other unconditionally to the point that you can overlook their flaws, bad habits and so on. Be honest, and trust each other. Sadly neither BS and SR can do this, because of their own greed.

The Plot is rather misleading, if BS and YK2 have lived together in the same house for 4 years, wouldn't he be able to know what she eats and what she don't? Everything is so shallow, I just don't get it. The body changes as one age, but habits are sometimes hard to break. BS knew YK since high school, but after university and everything - how can he be so sure she's the same person with same habits and so on? so delusional.

One is able to take allergy test at hospital to see what they are allergic to so that they can avoid consequences. I would also have taken a full check up to see if the new records match with the old ones.  I don't get why she believed everything everyone said and didn't even bother to find out for herself who she really is and if the stories people tell her are true.

Can't BS investigate if YK and YK2 are really twins, so that he won't get his hopes up too high? What makes them believe that JE will marry SR when he found out his wife "died".

Dear JE, if you suggested to take a break from her and realize that you misses her instead of cheating on her and dump her. Maybe all of these things wouldn't happen. But you're human, you made a mistake - a sin towards your wife and now you want her back? Maybe it's time to move on man, maybe not with your mistress- but someone else.. if you can't live with the guilt.

I look forward to seeing when YK2 found out that she had a child, what would BS respond to that?

Twins' mom knows that she's alive, she's sure of it. The mother's instinct can't be wrong,

I still can't get over that for four years, YK2 never ran into the other family members, or her mother. And that BS's father has never seen a photo of HK. I need to go back to the start to find more about YK and how the twins are separated. this is so confusing.

Everyone in this drama, except from YK & YK2 are selfish, for their own gain. Their greed drives them over.

  6. I have nothing against Angelababy, but i felt like that she didn't fit into the ancient scenes. her western look (she's half french) made her look too modern for it. I guess I shouldn't expect much since Yu Zheng produced it. He has Yang Rong and Chen Xiao as this regular cast members of any dramas. He enjoys to ruin so many great online stories, like his version of BBJX when he couldn't get his hands over it. He was determined to produce a similar one and call it "Palace" and he has a several seasons of it as well.

I believe that after he produce "Palace", the author regretted selling the rights of book to be adapted to dramas, to him.

Angelababy and Chen Xiao looked like little babies compared to Du Chun. It doesn't quite fit in, I didn't feel like any of them had chemistry.

I am currently reading the novel, and I feel it's more realistic than this one.

    1. In the book, Yun Ge saves Fuling because her mother sent her to take them out of the desert. mentioning that her parents are friends of Mr. Zhao. (the servant). She was there with him when he had his nightmares. Also he's very stubborn and rude little child who refused help from her in the first place.
    2. Yun Ge has two brothers, the third brother comes and fetch her home. and she was the other who scared the other beggars away from the boy she saved.
    3. The boy who is ungrateful towards her kindness tricked her to give him her shoes, saying that the pearl on her shoe can be sold for money. After she gave it to him, he threw it away saying things like he'll get revenge on rich people for treating him badly.
    4. The hairtie /necklace that FiuLing gave her, was taken from her, after parted with FiuLing and the boy. She was forced to promise and never to search him again to play. And she later learned that when giving her shoe away means the sign of a love token.
    5. She already ran away when Meng Jue came to propose, and her father predicted it already. She runs away, whenever she's upset.

The scene where Jin Ju talked about Meng Jue is a son of an old friend and the cooking battle doesn't exists in the novel. Also the story where a strange woman lure them to her city is so stupid. How they would go along with her just like that, after meeting her for a few minutes.

According to history, Liu Bingyi or Liu Xan is FiuLing's grandnephew. He'll become Emperor Xuan of Han in the future.

Sorry this drama did not keep it suspense good enough for me to continue watching. I rather read the novel.

  7. I thought a couple have to be separated first before divorcing, but they probably had someone pull the string.

the synopsis said that HK is aiming to be the best lawyer, and ignoring her husband. But when you go through the tragic of losing a child. What you want to do is to get away from everything that reminds you of your child or loved one. Both HK and JE grieved differently. HK became a workaholic, getting familiar with work to grieve on her own. JE maybe wanted to grieve with her(??) I don't know. he started to hate her for the death of their child, So he choose the only way he thought was the best. To get away from her, and probably hurt her the way she has "hurt" her. In my opinion it's both of their fault. But JE's was most at fault because he didn't want to work things out. He just found the easiest, another reason I don't support them getting back together. Dude, you had your chance, now move on.

Does any of them know the point of having a marriage?

If SK and JE lived happily ever after in USA, then SK wouldn't be worried about YK2 atm. But it didn't seem like they had more than a one time fling since four years ago.

@maplekist I agree with you. Why repeat the history? If he's going to revive her memories, he must expect that she'd remember his betrayal, and with her strong opinion against adultery. I do hope she opens her eyes and give her heart to BS as HK. and hopefully if he says he loves her as he does, he shouldn't differentiate between HK or the YK2 he knows.

But wait, why don't they date? They havent dated since high school, BS only remember her as high school student YK, why not redo everything over and develop some love man? I don't think he seem to know the personality of adult YK, people do change a bit.

it's been 14 episodes? How long are the writers going to pull this and bend it over? I believe the episodes would be shorter if they didn't drag it on too long.  If my theory is right, they're probably not going to let YK return until the near end of the series. (K-drama writers love twins characters, they always let them return during near end. and mention them from time to time.)

Apparently YK2 doesn't own a passport. HK & YK are identical twins, they have the same genetics but not the same finger prints. Passports require finger prints to be taken when you sign up for one. When she applies for one and gets denied, they'll find out that YK2 is not YK. (but I don't see that the write would make this happen).

HK is not vindictive as JE's mother or JE's brother in law. She didn't report about JE's infidelity to the court, which was illegal at the time, (Infidelity law was legalized in Feb 2015).  Because she love him so much, she isn't evil enough to get back at him. JE's mother should be grateful that HK or HK's mother did not report this. Because breaking that law is not about compensanation, it's jail time. And it can ruin his career.

Instead, JE's mother tell twin mother to "hush" up about her daughter's death because it would give her son pain. Nobody is considerate of each other's feelings in this drama... Twin mom could just tell JE the truth to give her daughter peace, or herself some peace. but she knows that HK still loved JE when she was "alive". So maybe the reason was better...

I am surprised that none of them tried to stay together by showing their spouse the good memories they had. They're just holding on to hold on, but does nothing more than to reminiscene the old memories. Or patience, give each other some time to grieve. Marriage is something, you made a promise the day - in sickness and in health. They fight. JE just gave up, without trying and now he wants her back. No matter how pitiful he is right now, it does not compensate what HK/YK2 went through. He's willing to fight for her now, four years after he spent his life with SR in USA. He had no contact with her for the past 4 years, and now he wants to. Dude, you can't leave and then come back asking for a nice conversation after what you have done.

I dont think that HK will be cold hearted and arrogant, once her memories recovers. It wouldn't feel right, and she would just move forward. Find out if she really loves JE enough to give up her life with BS, rather than repeating history where JE would leave again when things gets hard. that's not what marriage is about, just a play.

Btw, the doctor, what made him so sure that YK2 is YK? She didn't show her photo to him in the email, he just assumed that it's her with the same name. But then Korea, there are many people with the same name. Very interesting of him to mention that up, I only hope that he's not the same person as his brother.

I think I missed the part about divorce, did HK or JE apply for divorce? Because cheaters can't file for divorce in Korea, even if the cheater law is legalized in feb 2015.

    @Manyhx3 Interesting insight.

    To clarify...

YK2 does own a passport. In ep 14, the passport that MH threw on the floor while SR was peeping through the door gap, and which she later stole, is that of HK/YK2's. Or if you watch ep 15's preview(below), you'd see SR holding YK2's passport and wondering why everyone's lying that YK2 is in China when there was no immigration stamp showing her entry into China.

The doctor is Min Gyu Seok. I think he thought YK2 is the YK who emailed him about her daughter YJ because he had already responded to her email and had asked her to bring YJ to SK so that he can carry out tests to confirm if her illness is Gaucher's Disease(GD); he could have thought she acted on his instruction. Moreover, I believe the hospital ward they are in is one which caters to patients with special/rare illness, such as GD. Btw, MGS is just the opposite of his bro MTS.

The divorce I believe was a joint-application initiated by JE's mom SH, which prob was prompted by JE's near death from that lab explosion, as well as JE having told his mom that he was done with HK and the marriage.

Btw, that info bit on cheaters' ineligibility to file for divorce is interesting. It should be adopted universally.

@jadecloud Yes, YK2 does own a passport as HK, but not as YK. She has an ID, but that seems like YK's old one. But if she does have a passport, when the real YK returns - she might run into some trouble with the immigration dep. Maybe it would be a great plot to have the sisters meet for the first time. YK2 getting called to the immigration department/police to clarify her identity.

  10. I've been a fan of Ladies' Code for a while now, following them up since their debut. I had high hopes for them, that they'll win new best girl groups and make it big. Because they have the talent for it.
Now that Rise and EunB are gone, it pains my heart, and even worse for their remaining family, friends and members.
Rise and EunB were both happy and optimistic girls, who would always smile and brought happiness to everyone around them. To me they seem happiest on stage, singing and dancing their hearts out. I'd remember them as how they were.
RIP EunB & Rise, may you finally be forever happy together, singing and dancing in heaven. You will be missed.

  11. Great, so the ED finally did something right by going behind EP's back to teach Maha how to read and write although she didn't do this for EP when he was on the throne. Why? She knew she couldn't control him and he wasn't her son, so why on earth would she even care about him? And when she did, she thought he was a lost cause it wasn't anything she could do.

Not to start with her malicious acts, she was also the reason why Tangsiri died in the first place. Always arguing and fighting with her, but nobody cares to

  12. breaking from the tradition again, Poisoning the empress or a royal blood should be done in their own room. not on a straw mat in the palace for all to see. I remembered chinese royals would hang them on the exit gate out of the town so that everyone would know what traitors of the emperor would end up like.
I didnt like how they hang El-temur. should have at least done it with Chinese style. cut their head off. The more grosteque way of showing the people, and then pike their head on a stick. A great way to show people.
ED is so wrong, as she though she could get rid of SN to become empress, she's bringing in a wolf. another reason why the yuan dynasty went down

  13. I've notice that there is a lot of errors in this drama, like how El temur wrote chinese instead of mongol language. I remember watching a chinese drama during yuan dynasty, they knew how to speak han chinese, but they didn't bother to add that into their writings. So I found it funny that El temur was writing chinese and not their original language.
and the stupid thing, they believed a guard over a consort? So she blamed him for becoming a consort, when it was her choice to become one? Bayan knew that but yet he could do nothing. ED knew that if she didn't want to become a consort, why on earth would SN teach the emperor how to read? ED didn't do anything because she was waiting for the right moment to attack again? She knows that she'd lost again to El temur. If she really care for the emperor she would nuture him even when she was raising her own son. But then again, it's all for power.
Even if El plague aimed for SN and the emperor, he will still be punished for attempted murder, but El temur doesn't care. he still want to frame SN because she is dangerous and whenever his daughter ask, his daughter gets her way.
I find it ridicously funny, guards are not allowed to be near consorts. Didn't they think of that? That he's not allowed to be near her, how could he know? because a maid told her? SN is very private, she would only tell her eunuch Pak, or else keep it for herself.
Wang Yu did it, because he believe that he could protect her. While tanshiri thinks he likes her, and she kinda like her too. Right now I believe that SN will resent him forever, even if she finds her own son again. It wouldn't be the same, even if he finds out they had a son together.
According to the royal family of mongolian, it's okay for the son to marry the stepmother, as in his father's consorts. Even if she has children of her own.
I'm surprised, mongolians are really good at hunting. I thought they would be using real bows, not the kind that they have. And according to Chinese dramas I've seen they would send well trained assassins to kill them and get over with. These stupid guards have to lay out traps to make them not guilty and yet attack them when the traps fails, like as if they wouldn't know that they're after the emperor.
According to the history, the emperor will be exiled to Guangxi, before he gets his full power back. During his exile to Guangxi, ED is executed. When he gets his full power back, El Temur will die. His daugher will be deposed because of Dangkise's coup, although Yuan dynasty can have countless of empress during a reign. Since she's detestable, she will be deposed anyways.  But by the look of it, it doesn't seem to happen. Since this is pretty much off the history.
El temur shouldn't be the one who decide over the "court" even if he's regent. The way he walks around the palace shows it all, who's the real king at the palace. the rest are just powerless. Let's face it, there will always be one corrupted official in the history even now.
I'm looking forward to SN revenge against WY too. He made her this way, El Temur and his clan made her this way. In the end, it doesn't change.

  14. El temur was raised by sharks, just the way he treats his son, but he's kind to his daughter. even to the point where she used tonic too much giving the enemy the chance to avenge her. Pushing her down the bus, but instead of telling her that she was wrong and stupid enough to fall for this trap. He tried to cover up the whole thing, so that she can feel good about herself and that she didn't do anything wrong.

    - covering up their mistakes, that's why there are so may evil and spoiled people in the world.
as if it wasn't enough, "Let's abdicate the emperor", we don't care about him. Just having power is everything. Usually during Chinese dynasties, when they think the consorts or the empress herself are too evil or unable to take care of their children. They are taken by the emperor and given to other consorts to raise them. They may or may not treat the child greatly, but hey, at least they have a kid that calls them "mom" unofficially, right?
So ok, Sungnyang did not recognize her own child yet. she could only see the baby for a couple of hours, not long enough to know all the features? Or she was just too occupied with thoughts of vengeance to recognized the swift of a second the boy was brought away from her? At least once, I do hope that the baby would be given to Sungnyang to take care, but then the preview shows us something else. What to do?
Anyways back to the El temur plan, I somewhat kept hoping that the Emperor would rip the paper and tell him that he can read now.... but then it wouldn't be a lot of drama going on. they'd force him to seal it somehow.
I did learn two things, from watching this episode
    1. Kill two birds with one stone - Stop the abdication, and expose the illegal trading/selling of the govenors and officers
    2. Yuan dynasty takes their cold palace seriously. - Be stripped down to their undergarments and have to live in an ice cold palace with two servants, no heat, no warm clothes. And they GET TO EAT BUNS! LOL
In many Chinese dynasties, they have to wear peasant clothes, and live in a dark place with no servant. Their food are the worst, either withered or thrown out by those who doesn't want them. There's no decent water either. but at least they have a thin blanket they can use. And still manage to continue their stitching hobby and do everything on their own. Also they were available to get visits from a certain rank of doctors. It makes them go over a lot of things, why should they "enjoy" this horrible place when they could live in the imperial palace?
For Tanashiri, it's only a small punishment, nothing to learn from - in her case.
Sungnyang never admitted to being guilty, she's just stating the obvious of why she hate them. But as you can see, what Tanashiri wants is what she gets. But Sungnyang is only considered as a minor chess piece towards El temur for the moment, he isn't worried. let's watch ep 31 and see.
  15. @serenity95x3 @chocobana yes it is a crime  for them to even flirt with each other. I think that eunuch Park will later take this chance to make a revenge move against El plague.
The Mongolians during Yuan dynasty did incooperate a lot of chinese culture into their own, like the eunuch, palace maids but not footbinding or how they would select potential ladies in waiting each other. Take Lady Park for an example, she was a maid. She became a consort of the fifth rank, after being chosen by the empress dowager. because they all belong to the emperor.
Also take a note at how DangKise did not dare to touch Sunyang after she became maid. He could only torture her but never sacrifice himself to have her.

According to history, mongolian women in the mongol empire were not jealous of the presence of other women. They actually celebrated that the household is happy and the women kept the man in the house happy.
I also find their royal costumes misleading, I can't recal if the mongolians incooperated their clothing with the chinese culture that much as it's seen here and in Faith. And their particular headdress.

  16. There's a little bit written about Empress Ki on wikipedia. but I enjoyed the fact that they created empress ki's character to be so independent, strong and somewhat better than any man alive due to what she has experience. She's intelligent and full of tac tics.
I love to see the war between her and the current empress.
And about the current emperor, he is remembered as top 20 most dumb emperor of China. I'm still surprised that a crown prince to be king couldn't read. xD what the heck were they doing?

  17. Lol I was getting the feeling that the show would end soon, but it seems like Emily is heading back on track with the revenge on a different light. I was hoping that Emily won't let Daniel get away with anything, and let him rot in prison in the end when she gets her revenge. From what I see, the only thing he learned is that people would cover up for him whenever he made a mistake. A huge one, if she died. He'd have committed murder, how is he going to get away with that?
