16 episodes as of now, unless they consider any extensions.  The ratings are going through the roof, so maybe they will extend it too.

But as far as I can remember, when series gets extended the quality drops and it feels draggy. The extended episodes feels like a filler.

So if ever they do that, I hope the writers already anticipated that from the beginning and so the quality won't drop.

I'm guessing they will find out about Hae-in's illness in the next episode? Will her mom actually change or will she be forever cold to her?

  2. The brother just needs to go. He's so damn annoying. Well basically everyone is a trash. The leads need to just go in another planet away from these people.

Antagonist plot armor is going strong. I think I'm going crazy.

I don't know. Just let this damn family fall so they learn their lesson. I doubt they will learn anything anyways.

    Edit:

Finally done with the episode. Scenes with Hae-in really makes me cry. Her being stoic but ended up breaking down hits really hard.

Though I'm glad with the family's downfall. It's something they deserve. I don't even feel bad. Just for Hae-in and her aunt.

Now I need to see the antagonists downfall. And no I don't want redemption arc. I'm tired of it. Evil people needs to rot and suffer.

    The Grandmother said to TM

      Hide contents

    TH is his little brother!!

I think she got the younger brother, TH’s father, to impregnate TM’s mother because her eldest does not function, in many ways.

    My theory:
When TM’s father found out that TM was his brother’s son, he tailed them with the intention to kill but someone else did it first. I think it was Yeom. At least TM is not his son.

I think Tae-min's sister is Yeom's daughter? That's why he doesn't want the evil mom to disown her?

The audacity Ruby had in judging her aunt and then interrogating Tae Ho as if she's the mother-in-law goodness gracious. Which is why I never warmed up to her character. Ever. Ugh such atrocious behaviour. Such a disrespectful, entitled brat she is! She is no different to that of Tae Min's soon-to-be ex-wife, only difference is status, age gap also tsk.

Now Ruby's mom is sucking up to Hyo Sim. HELLo she has her own mother to deal with ha-ha. Why don't you pay more attention to Ruby instead!? That girl is a nightmare I don't know how any man find her attractive. Ironic she thinks her aunt isn't charming. Ugh she makes me so riled up LoL!

The gym where Hyo Sim works at. Sigh. Why is her relationship anyone's business LoL? One would think she's marrying into the royal family or something!

Her mom runs a cafe LoL gosh when the woman doesn't even know 'bout Elvis or Hitler ha-ha. She doesn't even know her way around a computer for goodness sakes. In next week's preview, Tae Ho gets put away by his scheming aunt oy (facepalm) and Hyo Sim's younger bro tries to stake claim at Tae Hee's family's company geez LoL.

What do you expect from Ruby when her mom is one and the same. They're born from the same mold.

My high blood pressure sure is high from the latest chapter. This really solidifies that Hyo-sim is surrounded by gold diggers and exploitative people.

And honestly, so glad Tae-min isn't the male lead. I find him a pushover at this point.

  5. @maribella

Am I understanding it correctly. The subs did say that Kang Taemin is actually not a Kang but the son of the dude who harrassess Kang Tae-hee, their mom's dog?

Honestly I'm happy the younger brother didn't managed to register his marriage with Kang Tae-hee. He's such a gold digger he needs to suffer. I was disgusted when he said I love you to Tae-hee when we all know he only said that because of money.

Mom is crazy she really didn't see how Hyo-sim actually suffered for the family. The only decent guy is her oldest brother and Tae-ho.

She is finally moving out.:scream: We finally get to see her father’s face. He’s finishing up in Elegant Empire, no wonder they didn’t show his face.

Her mother is awfully annoying but even so I really think RB  needs a really good dressing.

The oldest brother was concerned that the Kang cousins might be toying with his sister, still, does he need to sabotage her part time job? Seriously, doesn’t he know that it was her money that helped him out many times?

Is she really moving out? Because all the episodes I have watched, she's only all talk.

A nice perfect ending to the drama, but her final song was far from my favorite.
Also I wonder how much scenes were cut to make this a 12 ep instead of a 16 ep drama. The promotional poster showing Mok-ha with a longish dress and a seashell on her ear wasn't even shown.

I guess with all the songs she sang the whole series my expectations were really high for the final song. Sadly it was a letdown for me. :brokenheart:

The mother is a pathetic thief, the eldest son is a pathetic pushover and his wife is a nasty piece of work and his daughter is an enabled sassy-disrespectful-bratty disobedient child that needs to knocked down 50 pegs, everyone else is just a waste of time.

Hyo Shim, go get your life. You train people how to treat you!

Unfortunately Hyo-shim and her support system, the oldest brother, are both pushover. They both need to stand for themselves.

    Edit:

Watched the latest episode and there's still no progress. Hyo-shim is all talk and no work. Like please just leave your damn family just like what your dad did. Understandable what he did when the mom is a piece of crap.

Mom is a thief. Period. No redeeming factor at all.

Agree with @Bojun that evil dad is beyond redemption. (Side note: this actor is good! He's such a great dad in Strong Girl, airing at the same time, and just sooooooooo evil here.)

I'm only halfway through ep 10 but I just have to say somewhere, speaking of random discussions of this online: where do people get the idea that evil dad is just a side plot? Did they not watch the first episode? The drama is literally about kids who are trying to escape violent domestic abuse. Their dreams are to make music and work for the media, but until they deal with the threats from the past, they cannot achieve their dreams.

Yes, there is a bit of a fish out of water story, yes, there is some humor, yes, there is also a plotline about the difficulty of succeeding in the music industry. But so many things trace back to these evil dads, and there just can't be progress until they solve that issue (and all the issues that stemmed off from it, like the identity theft problem).

At one point I even worried about Mok-ha's being alive and finding her until she mentioned in Ep. 9 that he was washed up on the shore and confirmed his death.

So yeah. Everything started from them trying to run away from their evil fathers and their journey to being freed and making their dreams come true especially Mok-ha's.
