  1. I only came on this thread to let myself convinced to continue watching this. For the past 5 episodes I have only been watching it for Yoo Yeon-seok, and not because I like the way he looks, but because he seems like a nice guy.

Why would I have dropped it if not for Yoo Yeon-seok? I feel like watching a drama from the early 2000s. Even then I managed to avoid them, and now I am watching it just for Yoo Yeon-seok... Something's wrong with me...

@Shimmery-summer I do not know if someone else said this but she left before listening to the whole thing. If not listening to the rest, one could think that Sang-su does not care for her "it's her choice" (it's none of our business), while he says that they should respect her choice. She would have understood it if not for her emotions and inferiority complexes. Furthermore, like a true 2000s' plot, she leaves before he finishes speaking. I've long understood that I cannot grasp all cultural differences. In my country, if they would have stand for her, they would get on the bad side of their boss. It seems like in their culture, them standing for her would bring her more trouble. My mind simply cannot grasp it, but I can understand that, in a world I do not understand, he was trying to protect her.

As for Jong-hyeon, it is not even about her having a brotherly love for the poor guy. She sees her brother in him. I can understand befriending the guy who reminds you of your dead brother, but not dating him... Anyway, I feel bad for him as I feel that he is being used because she misses her brother.

On the other hand, have you noticed that the "motif" of looking for a woman whose family can help you out occurs more and more often in dramas? In this one I find it more disturbing, but I feel like it actually reflects the Korean society. The trend is not new, but they finally start calling a spade a spade even in Kdramas (unlike the ideal MLs in older dramas).

I'll go back to carefully reading your comments. Maybe you convince me to continue watching the drama.

  2. Be Melodramatic... Or am I the only one who thinks it's a comedy?

Jealousy Incarnate (at least it started as a comedy...)

    A Gentleman's Dignity

Sweet 18/ Little Bride (I'm biased as it was my first drama)

    Two Cops

    Bad and Crazy

I realy like Kook Young Soo. Ha Young and Woo-Joo are lucky to have a boos like him. And Kook is lucky with the other team members. He has a good eye for tallent. He knew about Ha Young before and he wanted him to be in this team.

About the characters in the drama and who is who in the book. I don`t know that Ha Young is totally the author of the book. I read about profiler Kwon Il-Yong (who wrote the book that inspired this drama).  Kwon Il Jong has a family, likes to talk about the job problems over drinks (he said that it is necesarry to mentain the mental sanity). Probably some of the officers have his qualities. Ha Young is based on him. When asked if there is a resemblance with Kim Nam Gil`s character he said that "It resembles my youth". I think he had a similar personality.  Article here

I remember something. There was a scene when Ha Young and Young Soo were in an elevator and people noticed how bad they smell because they came from the morgue :D Kwon Il Jong talked about how his wife noticed what he is doing at work (he did not tell her what is her job as a profiler) when she took his shirts to be washed. I found that scene very realistic.

I said it again. I really like this drama because it is not the story of the criminals but about the work of profilers, about people who catch the criminals. It is about their story.

Throughout this case I kept of thinking of the Raincoat Killer and the profiler's inteview. Especially when the CCTV only caught his back and he changed his MO. If not for the documentary, I would have thought that more of the drama were fiction.

I already watched Problem Child in House last Sunday on TV. ML is a very good singer :)

He was first a backup singer, then, around the time of his debut as an actor, he also debuted as a member of the band The Nuts (I think the band came first). He still sings in a band with his brother. I remember him promoting their latest single in Men on a Mission.

Last night's episode had me laughing at this scene.... Dang Ja Young, at the moment when she made the mistake of her life, the day she ignored all the red flags and saved Se Gwon from himself!!:D

it started with the frustrated sigh as she looked through the clique report. She's transported back to the day her life changed.....

I mean, the red flag is there, in red ink!!

    But noooooo.... she knows better!!

is it the nerdy look that won her over? The glasses? The hair? The soft voice? :D

I experienced the same, but in reverse. I was on holiday with a friend and as I rattled on about my plan for the day, thinking that my amazing organisation skills would ensure we have a grand time, I noticed that she was absolutely furious with me (to the point of stomping her feet) and told me I was smothering her. We went out and toured the city, but her reaction affected me so much I am unable to offer people help anymore.

I've understood the scene a little different. Se Gwon had adjustment issues and he wanted to quit. The president , his cousin, did not give any instructions on the matter, but the higher ups did not want him to quit due to adjustment issues, so she had to do something in order to make him stay. This is why she was so supportive, and not because she liked him. She did not offer a hand because of her kindness, but because of the higher ups. She was just doing her job (although I am not sure if this is the HR's role...), in the same manner she does it now.

And sorry for me being dense but can some chingu make me understand how IkSun faced racism? What kind of racism is that she faced.

The person taking the order pretended s/he did not understand what IS was saying because of her pronunciation. I've heard people complaining that it had also happened to them, but it only happened to me with the French (never with people from other French speaking countries). English speakers are usually more understanding. On the other hand, I only have one British friend, who has never complained about my accent/ pronunciation, so I am not sure if all of them are as easygoing as him.

  7. @morganian guns are illegal, and gang members are complying with the law. :coolshades: They are said to be difficult to find, although lately I've seen them more often. Maybe there are also regulations regarding their use on TV (just like they are not allowed to show them smoking) or production companies have an understanding with the government.

@Rumaizah MuhammedI assume the light (be it in the cabin or in the room) is left on for the camera. It bothered me a few times, bu then I thought about technical limitations and I've easily accepted it. Although I have to admit to the fact that the same did not happen with the pyjamas, as @RobinMmentioned. I cannot get used with them sleeping in their daily clothes even though I am aware of the fact that not wearing pyjamas saves them time.

I am grateful that they are no longer able to take the phone battery out when they don't want to answer the phone, but Romantic comedies still have over the top FLs. For the first few episodes I always feel like dropping the dramas because of the female leads (some actresses are more prone than others to be cast as these characters - Hwang Jung Eum, Choi Kang Hee, Jang Na Ra, Oh Yeon Seo).

Leads still don't get to confess their "sins" themselves. There is always someone/ something revealing what they are hiding (this hasn't changed from the 2000s, although there are fewer MLs who tie shoelaces for the FL).

I feel like, while in the 2000s they were leaving for the good of the other, now they are often leaving for their own good (personal development).

  8. @brooksmom, I think that's what they implied. Hyun Ji was in another "village" - which could be an explanation for the reason why she was unfound, but not in the village.  After she goes under the bridge, the girl tells the other kids that she saw Hyun Ji's dad. I don't understand why they were able to see the girl, but their "ability" to see the village disappeared. I tell myself that it is a drama and not everything has to make sense - and I am not super smart. :)

By the way, @Blizzardistkaputt, I remember that in one of last week's episodes Thomas mentioned his real name, and it wasn't Ahn Jung-geun, the name of Thomas Ahn. I don't remember what the name was, but I remember thinking that not even the last name matched.

@hugo10, it looks like Thomas "fixed" his hair in order to match the theme of the cafe (Hawaii). All Korean Catholic Christians have foreign baptism names (I remember reading somewhere that Lee Dong Gun's baptism name is Emmanuel). They are mainly saints' names and, while some of them are Italian, some other are English. Some examples from other dramas are Yoo Yeon Seok's family in Hospital Playlist or the priests/ nun in The Fiery Priest.

@joccu, I don’t think they found a body. However, they found someone else’s DNA on the school bag that was left behind. Currently the crime lab is running a test on the DNA to possibly identify the owner of that DNA. The reason why I believe perhaps there is a possibility that she died is because the serial killer was shown as though he was reminiscing on one of his victims and images of the little girl at the amusement park with her parents were intertwined as though someone was watching her with them. Therefore, it kind of implies that the serial killer may have been involved in the daughter’s disappearance although I don’t know how old he was at the time the child was lost.

I thought @joccureferred to the fact that she is not in the village. If her body has not been found, she should be in the village. As she is not there, it means that she is not dead (as you assume) or that her dead body has been found (as I gather form @joccu's post.

After watching ep 9, I am confused about the timeline. So if the chairwoman’s daughter gave birth to Wook in 1990, it means that Wook will be 30 years old now. Then with his mom disappeared 27 years ago he would only be 3 years old. And obviously he was much older than 3 years old in the flashbacks.

I am wondering why would someone from the Japanese occupation dye their hair blonde ?

I have the same dilemma. Did men dye their hair in those times? I think there weren't even many women who did it.

i think beom soo remember´s car plate number. Maybe he was hit buy a car.

wook found his mom. So sad. this weeks episode had so many sad scenes. But luckily it also had some funny scenes.

I thought he remembered a phone number, as it was a 7 digits number (without the area code). For a ***-**** combination, the car should be a passenger vehicle. I was actually wondering if he could be the chairwoman's grandchild, as they have once mentioned that her daughter was crazy (we do not know what they meant by that, but I do not remember regular ajummas/ ajeossis being very specific when it comes to mental health).

    I have some theories:

    1. CYN is alive and the chairwoman's granddaughter. She might be in a deep coma.

I think they performed DNA tests for the three of them, and none of them was the chairwoman''s grandson/ granddaughter. I remember finding it weird how they killed them before having the DNA test results. (I think it was in one of last week's episodes.)

I don't normally gush but they can't get any closer than that. The last time I see such positions are when the couples annouce their engagement or something like that.

I understand the huge age gap I do. I understand it's all good acting. But darn it they look good together. I am watching 5 airing dramas and this has one of the most nonsensical plot. But ended being the most logical narrative- wise to follow. Then having the effing- cute squashable main couple. If you have seen my scratching posts on the other forums you would not believe the coo- ing me that is happening now.

This is indeed a first. I have "read" you around for a long time, but I don't remember a similar reaction. :)

I was quite confused as I saw the picture without reading anything about the context, so I first wondered if it was from the drama (because of the closeness). It turns out it wasn't... :D Actually, I didn't want to watch the drama as I am not a melo fan and this is one of the premises I hate the most, but I started watching it because of Kim Dong Wook. I don't regret it (not because of Kim Dong Wook, but because of the drama itself).

Nobody Knows is about to end.  Does anyone know if there are any other current or upcoming Kdramas of the same genre (detective, mystery, crime, investigation)?   Tell Me What You Saw and the Game Towards Zero are already done. Thanks!

Memorist, but I like Nobody Knows better. I am also watching Rugal, but I am not crazy about it, and Hyena was better but I think it is only "bordering" the genres you have mentioned. Children of Nobody (2018) was as good as Nobody Knows. I am waiting for Team Bulldog (May 23rd) and Good Casting (April 27th) and looking forward to Model Detective (June/July).

Can someone plz send me the link for the special episode raw or subbed? I've tried looking everywhere but I can't find the full ep...

The subbed one might be released tomorrow or on Saturday, as the subbed episodes of We Will Channel You are usually uploaded with a 8-9 days delay - that is if those translating the show will also translate this one (I hope they will).

  16. I keep thinking about something I've heard in another drama (Ghost Detective), where ghosts kept on doing what they did the moment they died.  I feel like it was the same in MotA. CHS died while fighting JW, so he keeps on going after him even after his death, Secretary Seo dies while being JW's ally, so he keeps on fighting along JW even after his death, and JW... "disappears" while being selfless and trying to "save everyone else", and he keeps on doing the same even one year later. The problem is that according to this reasoning he is now zombie Zinu but instead of going after someone, like CHS, he protects them, just like he did before his disappearance.

And as I've finally braced myself and visited Alhambra, I've tried identifying some of the filming locations. The "entrance" to the dungeon and the so-called dungeon are in two different buildings, though. It was not a good day for taking photos, so forgive their poor quality. There were many places in the town that I couldn't identify, and I'll try to do that on Wednesday, after my last exam, as I am still curious where HJ's hotel is. I only know that it is not in Albaicín or in Sacromonte, as it wasn't white, so that leaves me with the other half of the old town. :))
