Looks like the recap hasn't been done yet so here we go~
Episode 34 Recap (Part 1):
LJ has become a wanted criminal since he accidentally shot Ning Wang. NN tries to persuade her dad not to be unfair towards LJ - although it is her cousin, Ning Wang who was injured - she heard that NW blocked the arrow. Her dad is enraged and actually slaps her - he doesn't agree with their romance. He tells her to stay away from LJ and leaves.
LJ comes to see her and seeing how miserable she is, promises to stay away from her (silly boy). She doesn't have any of that of course, and lightly kisses him. He realises how she feels and kisses her back properly (It's kinda cute how awkwardly they're holding each other, kinda fits their characters too haha). He tells her that he's going to catch DS with XY and hopes perhaps he can make up for his transgression (of harming the Prince) before the King.
TY is burning incense to XM at Ying Hua Temple, expressing her wish for CY and XY to be happy together. She overhears the conversation between the young apprentice of DS and a eunuch. Apparently DS has been sending him to the palace for a special herb through a secret passageway. She also hears the plan that DS has to release the poison gas throughout the palace the night of the full moon. TY gasps when she hears that DS intends to kill everyone since he's gone mad that he can't get the Birth Stone to save his beloved. They hear her - TY starts running for her life. The eunuch shouts out for her to be caught, calling her an intruder. TY gets on a horse, determined to tell CY about what she overheard. All the guards move to catch her, some shooting arrows. TY is shot but she escapes.
Mr. Qin carries TY into XC's place - CY is shocked to see the state she's in. XC orders for the doctor, though Mr. Qin looks at TY knowingly. TY manages to tell her everything, warning CY not to go back to the palace because DS wants to force her to go. XC orders Mr Qin to locate the secret passageway as quietly as possible. TY expresses how much she missed CY as CY cries. TY says, "I'm finally coming to see you." as she sees a vision of XM coming to greet her. Her hand falls, and CY sobs helplessly. (See this was super quick - happened within the first 10 minutes). On the other side, TY walks side-by-side with XM.
CY cries to Uncle Liao, asking if he knows any way to save TY. She wonders if the Birth Stone can do it. Uncle Liao says he doesn't know but she can ask her father - he gives her an incense that her father left behind. CY lights it and lies down, closing her eyes. She enters a dreamscape and meets her father. She asks the question and says she is willing to use the last chance she has - but her father tells her to return. The prophetic powers of the Birth Stone already rebels against fate; basically there isn't a way to bring the dead back to life because doing so would be against the order of the universe. CY asks her father if anyone else is going to die for her sake - she wants to know if XY and XC will be able to live out their lives. Her father sighs that she wants to use her last chance this way, but CY says that her life will be meaningless if there is nothing she can hold on to.
Her father lets her go to that crystal bubble thing. CY sees something but that's not what she wants to see. Her father desperately asks, "Can't you leave the last chance for yourself?" CY refuses - the Birth Stone glows in her forehead and she closes her eyes, raising her arms to the bubble - she sees scenes of XY heading out somewhere, then getting hurt, she shouts, "No!" and as she shouts, she wakes up, "No! Don't go there!" She immediately gets out of bed, not even putting on her shoes. (I knew it - this is where she's going to run to XY, the preview scene).
XY is looking at a map in the barracks. Mr Bai comes to report - DS had a secret passageway which he used to send TB on to get valuables from the palace. The money he gained from selling these were used to hire those death assassins. They don't know the exact location, only that someone would meet them at Da Luo Mountain. XY orders him to look around the area.
They hear CY asking to be let in, and aww she says, "I'm your General's wife!" Then it's the preview scene where she hugs him and doesn't let go. XY tells her to go home; he'll return after he catches DS and gets the cure. She says that she can't, and looks down at her feet - they're all bloody. XY looks at her in concern and she just smiles.
He treats them and asks if they hurt. CY says they don't but he asks why are her eyes red. CY just keeps saying, "Because I miss you." XY knows that something's wrong, and asks her again what was so important that she came so hurriedly in the middle of the night. She repeats, "The most important thing was... that I missed you." But she adds that XC got the news that DS had a hideout in Xi Bei Mountain (she is trying to send him somewhere else).
XY isn't fooled; he says, "You're lying." He reasons that XC could have sent a servant to tell him the news, and he wouldn't have let CY come by herself without even a guard in the middle of the night. CY then fibs that she argued with XC and came out herself. Anyway, she tells him to catch DS, and then marry her. XY smiles and says, "Yes, Mrs. Xue." CY smiles and lays down to sleep. Her smile goes once she turns her back, thinking, "How do I stop him from going there?" XY looks at her in worry.
XY comes out and tells Mr. Bai that CY is extremely out of sorts. He sends him to XC's place to find out what happened (CY didn't even tell him about TY! Her death has been forgotten...)
NN is in her room, thinking about LJ. She resolves to join him, even though her maid tries to stop her. She says that LJ needs someone to accompany and trust him; she leaves to go - she knows he's with XY.-

Hmm. I'm confused after watching Ep 35 LOL. Like everyone's already said here, the last ten minutes or so were very odd. And it's definitely not an "ending" in the traditional drama sense of the word. I haven't quite figured out what happened - I'm too sleepy for this
It's silly to call the coming additional scenes "epilogues" when the ending wasn't there grrrr.
I did enjoy Ep 33 and 34 though. The pacing was a bit off with a lot of random episodes (events) not given enough time - like what happened with TY. And although the Ning Wang bit served some purpose for the plot, I still don't get why they tried to create a loveline with NX =.= Too late, and no ground for it. There were definitely sweet moments and multiple kisses between our main couple
BUT is it strange that I thought they were still really erm... gentle? I wished they would have been more passionate given where their relationship was at - the cave scene kiss was really passionate - and I'm not saying that it should be that intense or aggressive, but nearer to that intensity would have been nice... but I'm nitpicking.
Anyway, I think I'm going to have an early night tonight. Maybe will do a recap tomorrow if it hasn't been been done. Stay safe and have fun everyone, and don't go too crazy!

It is kinda sad that the ending is coming. But it's inevitable... I felt that when IOTNBO came to an end as well. Hopefully we also get a satisfying ending with this one.
Preview for Episode 34:
CY hugs XY and doesn't let go. (I think she had a dream of him in danger... that's why she's holding on to him and wanting to go with him.)
XY: Silly girl. It's only been a day since we last saw each other.
CY: But I just miss you.
XY: Alright, alright. Come on, be good. (tries to extricate himself but she holds on)
They are lying in bed. XY takes out that ankle bracelet.
XY: Do you still remember this? Back then you said that you were willing to be my prisoner. Now, I'm returning it to you, so that you'll never escape my prison. (kisses her forehead and holds her close)
The next morning (probably), XY is ready to leave.
CY: Xue Yao! Please bring me with you. Whether we live or die, that's up to fate. Let's leave everything that's happened (all the past between them) to God. I just want to be with you.

@WinCee Your life seems so dramatic haha. Was there a power cut? But no worries, I can finish the last bit of the episode. Oh and actually I think there was a little bit in the beginning of Ep 32 - the Eunuch told XC that they had closed the gates of the city to look for DS.

So here goes!
Episode 32 Recap (Part 3):
Continuing from the part where XY is getting himself drunk, pouring it on himself in the garden in his house (also the part many of you are enjoying LOL). He thinks, "Everything that happened yesterday were only a fantasy; I was happy too soon (like celebrating too early). (He draws his sword and starts unleashing his pain) If you're wiling to be someone else's wife, why should I still see you? Why should I... still remember you?" He slashes through his precious plants, stopping at the Li Ren Flower, before collapsing on the ground. Aunt observes all this from a distance. Over at CY's place, she wipes away her tears, leaning against the chair.
DS tends to Lady Yun/ Fei Xue, saying that he still hasn't fulfilled his promise to her. He notes that it's only two more nights to a full moon (uh-oh... that means CY's going to be in trouble soon). His disciple comes in with medicine for him and asks what are his next steps. DS says he can't enter the King's body anymore so that plan has failed - the only solution left is poison gas. The disciple asks if he means the Killing Gas that leaves no grass alive within ten miles, and DS says he will do whatever it takes for Fei Xue.
Aunt goes to XC's place with the sword her brother used. She says that the sword has killed many, and should have the killing energy that will help CY sleep. Old Man Liao (if I didn't recognise wrongly lol - I can't remember the few elderly side characters haha) pulls XC aside and confirms what she says - he thinks that is probably why XY has the same strong killing aura, after the sacrifice of generations of generals in the Xue family. XC moves to accept the sword but Aunt insists that her servant, the mute page boy Xiao Sheng Zi, must take care of it since it's a family heirloom. XC has no choice but to agree.
XC meets the King, who is still ill. The King questions again if it's true that CY has a royal baby, and XC confirms it - XY has also entered at this point and is distressed again when he hears this. The King is angry, but pursues it no further until the baby is born, telling XC to keep it quiet to avoid scandal. The King says there is inner and outer turmoil in the country - he wants XC to take care of the inner turmoil and XY the outer. They both reassure him; XY says the mine will be blown up in two days (oh also two days...) and the traitorous workmen will be captured.
Aunt goes to visit CY, presenting her with the sword and the page boy. CY tries to refuse them, saying that she can't accept but then Aunt asks, "Do you live in this room with Shun Wang?" CY instinctively replies, "Of course n.." before remembering that there might be spies, then she changes to say, "I didn't make the decision." Aunt notes that there is only one pillow, and thinks that the relationship might not be what is rumoured. She thinks, "The silly girl must have her own difficulties." CY feels bad that she's lying to Aunt as well. Aunt takes her leave and tells her to get well soon.
Back at Xue Manor, Aunt tells XY, "Of course the sword is just an ordinary sword. But I did all that for you." XY worries that if CY falls asleep, her life will be at risk. Aunt replies, "Of course I know that the real precious sword in our family is you", lightly touching his nose (hee I find this so cute). She reveals her grand scheme - she found out that XC has gone to take care of the King in the Palace, and the page boy will let XY in to see CY. XY says he can't because he promised not to see her again, and their statuses also don't make it possible. Aunt says that NX already drew the line with him, and she tells XY about there only being one pillow in CY's room. XY asks if she discovered anything, and Aunt doesn't do everything for him, "You want to know? Then go find out yourself!" Aunt says that he can't give up as long as the King hasn't given the decree for them to be married. XY is afraid that she will cry again if he sees her. Aunt says she's already laid the path for him; it's up to him to do whatever he wants.
That night, CY is washing her feet in a basin. She calls out for TY before remembering that TY isn't there anymore, so she calls for the page boy. He taps her on the shoulder to let her know he's there. She asks for him to change her water for some warm water. He leaves and XY enters in his place. As XY nears with the basin, she thinks, "Why is there such a familiar scent? It smells like the smell of blood on XY". She stands up, calling him, "Xue Yao!" stepping into the basin by accident. Water splashes on the ground and XY holds out his sword for her to catch onto.
CY thinks, "Ah.. it was the sword Aunt brought." She apologises and says that she must be mistaken. She thinks that the killing energy of the sword that Aunt meant must be the smell of blood. She is contrite towards him (she thinks she's talking to the page boy) and asks that he bears her mistakes and inconveniences that she will cause because of her eyes. She asks if he wants to tell her anything, holding out her palm for him to write on. He approaches but then changes his mind, picking up the basin instead.
So begins a montage of him caring for her silently - tucking her in to sleep and sitting by her bedside, helping her put on shoes the next morning. He leads her from spot to spot, combs her hair and tucks her in at night. There's a really sweet moment when she sits up sleepily and reaches out, trying to make sure he's still there. She goes back to sleep once she confirms that he is (she must have had very restful sleep over the night(s?). XY looks at her as she sleeps contentedly. -End of Episode.-

Hey @WinCee, if you wanna do Ep 32 feel free to go ahead! I said that because it seemed like you were busy. It's a nicer one compared to the other 3 since NX finally leaves the picture. I don't mind taking a break haha.

Episode 31 Recap (Part 2):
CY rests on the bed as XC brings her medicine - she had a fever. She sits up to drink it. CY thanks XC for what he's doing (for her). XC accepts it, and asks if she can promise him something - "Forget Xue Yao." CY looks down and doesn't say anything. XC remembers how his mother fell out of favour with the King, and waited her whole life. CY says she won't do that.
XY is at the restaurant again, staring at nothing. He asks Mr Bai, "Do you think she'll be upset?" Mr Bai says that CY will surely understand his difficulties. A soldier delivers a message from Xi Zhao to XY - so they have confirmation of NX's actions. XY says that he will meet the King the next day.
CY is falling asleep while XC tries to stop her. Turns out the medicine earlier causes drowsiness because the physician didn't realise she wasn't supposed to sleep. He brings his child to help keep CY awake - which works like a charm (Haha I'm guessing parents of young children will surely relate). The child cries all night - XC eventually leaves CY to deal with it by herself. CY is bitten as she tries to calm the child.
The next morning - DS is behind the screens where the King is. He has poisoned the King enough that he can control him like a puppet - using something like a voodoo doll. The Eunuch sees something weird happen to the King - DS (as the King) orders for CY to be called. But XY is waiting outside - DS has no choice but to let him in. XY shows what he found - NX and her brother were only using Nan Sang's military to stage a coup and grab power for themselves. He believes they will have greater ambition. DS-King says that he will think of the next step. This strikes XY as odd because the King had previously been anxious to make a move; they were only waiting for evidence. But the King wasn't making a move despite the evidence now. DS-King angrily asks if XY is dissatisfied, and XY is forced to leave. The Eunuch thinks it's strange too, but he's dismissed and asked again to bring CY.
CY and XC come to meet the King. XY sees them and stays outside, listening. DS-King proposes that CY move back to the Palace, which greatly alarms both CY and XC. DS-King also says that he wants CY to succeed her father's position as the Diviner, taking over DS's place. CY says that she can't do it, and XC asks for him to reconsider. DS-King refuses to listen and declares that CY will be the Diviner from now on. CY tries to protest, going on her knees. XY and XC are both thinking - then XC also kneels and says he has something to confess to the King.
It's the lie we know - XC says that he's already had a physical relationship (lit. husband and wife relations) with CY. That startles everyone - CY, XY and the King. The King angrily states that she is his sister, but XC argues that they're not related by blood. XC says that she's already divorced and so has reverted to merely a girl waiting to be given in marriage. The King says he doesn't believe it (XY who's listening outside balls his hands into fists). XC grabs CY's hand, despite her trying to protest, says, "I never dared to tell Sister (actually this is how he addresses CY) my feelings before. But last night was General Xue's wedding, and we had too much to drink, so..." He says that everything is his fault, but possibly, "at this moment, there is already a royal seed in Sister - your grandchild." XY is almost beside himself with agitation outside - and so is the King. The King's head hurts - DS is losing control over him - DS spits out blood - the King does the same. Everyone is alarmed - XC, CY, the Eunuch and XY check on the King while DS's disciple calls out to DS. In the confusion, CY hears the disciple, "Shifu!" and goes around to check. She sees the disciple and DS's back - she turns around and says, "Catch the intruder!" which causes XY to react - but then the disciple throws some powder at CY in order to escape (they left something behind). XY shields her from it but some of it gets into her eyes. CY winces and struggles with her eyes as XY looks at her worriedly.
Back at XC's place, the physician dresses CY's eyes as she lays on the bed. The physician says it's fortunate that XY shielded her mouth and nose from the poison, which saved her life; but it did get into her eyes. Because they managed to clean it in time, she will not be permanently blinded. She needs to take medicine for half a month and observe a few conditions - she cannot stay up nights as she has always done, because the body recovers much better during the night. XC tells the physician to think of other ways since she can't do that, but XY says, "Alright, I will make sure she gets her sleep. Anything else?" The other condition is that she should avoid tears during this time. XC gets his turn, "If anyone makes her cry, I'll make him bleed", glaring sideways at XY. The physician is reassured and takes his leave.
XY approaches the bed but XC stops him, saying "She doesn't want to see you." XY counters, "If you want to let her sleep, then let me accompany her." XC wonders at his audacity, claiming that CY is now his. XY says, "Unable to control yourself, husband and wife relations - Do you think I'd believe such sensational royal scandals?" XC retorts, "It doesn't matter whether you believe it or not; those are the facts." He asks how XY can be here with another female while he's newly married (haha I have almost forgotten this up to this point). XY answers, "That's my household affairs. I can handle it. But CY is also my household affair."
XC says, "You should wake up from your beautiful dream now, General. Try looking at the mark on Sister's neck. That is the sign of our love, proof that it was consensual. Since you're not going to see her often, try looking at it carefully, and then give up earlier." - End of Episode.I'm off to bed now! Will do episode 32 tomorrow - actually quite looking forward to that one hehe.

@SC2019 Yeah I saw that bit in EP 32 as well; I think so too - that XY would have wanted them to be properly married before they have a physical relationship. I think that's what he meant by demeaning herself though - the bruise wasn't just a hickey (as he assumes) but based on what XC told him, proof of her having the physical relationship with XC - outside of marriage, in a drunken state (all this is what XC said). It's like she let herself go.
@xiaoxf I loved the previous time when she ran to hug him as well - it's just such a simple, honest expression of her feelings, and it touches XY. Can't wait to see this one too!
It's hard to be motivated to do recaps for Episode 31 because it's just annoying watching NX getting her way (mostly) at the expense of our main couple. I'll try to see if I can be as succinct as possible LOL. At least SC2019 already recapped some of the main points, so you wouldn't miss the storyline. @Vivi123 Thanks for linking that video, that is helpful in getting us through
Also actually I don't mind getting to Ep 32.
Episode 31 Recap:
This episode starts with NX grooming herself for the wedding. Sigh. There's a little ridiculous bit with Ning Wang coming to express himself and getting kicked out by NX again. (I don't know why this storyline arc is still on - it doesn't seem like it would have any effect, unless something later does connect back to his infatuation with NX.) Then once he leaves, NN comes, unhappy on CY's behalf. They start fighting - then CY arrives.
(I actually mistranslated before - they didn't just want CY to officiate the wedding; NX asked for CY to be her female attendant - so CY is here to help get her ready) CY asks NN to leave because she doesn't want her getting hurt for her sake. NN reluctantly goes. NX tells CY to help comb her hair and choose her earrings. CY walks over and combs her hair, remarking that NX's headdress looks good on her. NX says that the principle "Legitimacy belongs to the victor" (the literal Chinese idiom is the winner becomes the king, the loser becomes the outlaw) applies everywhere. She says that they have the same tastes in men and in headdress; if CY remains so obedient, they could become friends (pfft. As if she understands the meaning of the word 'friend'.) CY takes her hand away.
When CY comes out, she sees NN sitting outside, crying. She asks if NN is crying because she's so upset on her behalf. She hugs NN, and NN says "I don't want to have friends anymore - why do I always have to cry for you?" Aww - that's a friend! CY says that she doesn't want to cry, because if she does, then it means she's lost. NN asks if she still hasn't given up on XY - CY says that everyone wants her to accept her fate; she refuses to do that. She wants to know if XY can really marry NX in front of her - if he does, then she'll bless him (ARRRGHHH).
The wedding ceremony. CY sees XY standing there - she steels herself and walks out. Then it's the cut scene I previously translated - XY doesn't know that she was asked to be here and gets very shocked and upset. XY asks why she's here, and she says that she doesn't believe he would marry another woman so quickly even if he hates her. XY says that he doesn't joke around with such serious matters as marriage, and tells her to leave, "You're not needed here." CY responds, "I think it's you who doesn't need me." She continues - it's the full wedding scene from the cut clip. (such torture to watch this again...) CY takes deep breaths to compose herself. XY goes through the whole ceremony like a man heading to the gallows.
CY watches them take their bows (the requirement is three bows - first to the heaven and earth, second to honour the parents, third to each other) with a bitter smile and tears, thinking of her own wedding. As they take the third bow, CY closes her eyes and remembers when XY fell on her and accidentally kissed her on their wedding bed. She opens her eyes and turns away - the ceremony is done.
CY watches from afar as the King sends XY and NX off. NX turns around to speak to the King, and XY turns to look at CY, who gives him a smile through her tears. NX tells the King that she's written to her brother - Xi Zhao will have good ties with Nan Sang from now on, and they will develop the mine together. The King tells XY to treat NX well; XY asks what will happen to CY. He replies that since NX forgave her, all is fine, and he's approved XC's request to take her out of the palace. The King is happy, and hopes that the 300 workmen he's sent to Xi Zhao will find the precious metals, looking meaningfully at XY. XY promises not to let him down, and they take their leave. XY steals another glance at CY before leaving.
TY approaches with CY's cloak but can't bring herself to go near. XC says he can do it - and this is the conversation where TY says she can't face CY and will not follow them to leave the palace. XC puts the cloak on CY, and tells her to look for as long as she wants. CY lets her tears flow now, saying that it's her last time looking at him. XC doesn't want her to be sad, or to see her tears. He remarks that she still seems like the little girl who was bullied. CY says that she grew up unfavoured; she will be fine. XC agrees and says he will not let her be sad either.
NX waits on the bed while XY drinks in his study. The servant is sent to fetch XY. XY angrily heads to the bridal chamber. He tells NX, "I only came here to say this. Since all we had was a deal, there will be nothing else between us." He turns to leave but NX stops him. He says that he gave her the position she wanted (his wife), so what else did she want? She replies, "I want your heart. I want you to stay." (REALLY? She's almost as ridiculous as Ning Wang. *facepalms*) She grabs a little corner of his robe. "Tonight, I'm your wife." XY takes the robe off and leaves.
NX follows him out while he ignores her. She finally pulls her sword and points it at him. He says, "That's enough. My patience with you has its limits." She retorts that she's the same, but he easily disarms her and holds the sword against her neck, "I won't always let you win." NX challenges him to kill her and start a war again; if they can't be husband and wife, they can be sinners of both countries. XY is briefly tempted, pressing the sword closer but then drops it, looking at her in contempt before leaving. NX looks at him leave, "XY, tonight was meant to be our wedding night." (If this is meant to invoke pity for her lol - I doubt any one of the audience cares.)
XY rides on his horse out into the town. He sees a palanquin - XC and CY are inside. CY has her eyes closed and leans on XC, feeling unwell. XC and XY's eyes meet as they pass by.Breaking it up since this post is quite long. I obviously wasn't succinct HAHA.

Episode 30 Recap (part 2):
Then it's the preview scene where XY and NX go to the prison - where Duo Er Tu is watching his men fight with XC's men. XY asks NX why her men are here (since this is Nan Sang's prison), and NX says it's to prevent XY from attempting a prison break. She wonders if these people were sent by him, and when he doesn't answer, she gets enraged and orders Duo Er Tu not to let anyone go. XY scans the men and realises XC is there. He calls a stop (this isn't even for CY's sake, but I think XC is also family to XY, and obviously he knows how much XC means to CY). NX asks what right he has to order her men since he's not her husband, unless he's thought it through? XY grips his hand tight as he thinks back to what the King said to him earlier. The King had accused him of being less caring about what happened to the commoners at the border while going to war, unlike his ancestors. Duo Er Tu also told XY that if he doesn't agree to NX's demands, there will be no way out for CY. XY tells NX that he agrees to marry her. NX says that she doesn't believe him unless he tells CY himself. She adds that it's better for him to tell CY rather than her (actually I think that's true...), "The lock can only be undone by the one who locked it." (this was what CY said to NX before when she didn't want to take off her ankle bracelet.
XY walks down to CY's cell. CY is startled that he's here since they agreed never to meet again. He says that he won't be coming anymore, "I'm getting married." She flatly asks, "To Na Xi?" He says "Yes." She asks, "So she's awake?" He replies, "Right. So you can go now." CY steps out of her cell and approaches him. CY asks, "You're marrying her in order to save me, right?" He responds, "Princess Chu Yue, don't think so much of yourself." Then it's the preview scene where she asks, "Why? But you said you don't like her. Why are you marrying her?" XY releases his hand from her grip, "It's none of your business who I marry."
CY asks, though it's more like a statement, "You hate me very much." XY says without emotion, "Of course I hate you. If not for you, my brother wouldn't die. If not for you, I wouldn't become such a dishonourable, unrighteous person. So what if I marry Na Xi? At least I wouldn't need to think of all these things."
CY doesn't buy it, "You're lying to yourself, and lying to her, and lying to me." NX enters at this moment and says she's willing to be lied to. She tries to take XY's hand but XY avoids her and holds his hand behind his back (YES TAKE THAT YOU EVIL WOMAN). NX tries to gloat, saying she doesn't mind XY lying to her, or using her. CY says she doesn't believe that he's such a person. He says, "What's there not to believe? We have a person's life hanging between us. I've let it go. You should let it go too." CY wants him to look her in the eyes and tell her, "I've let you go. I don't want you anymore. Then I'll believe you." XY doesn't do it - he turns and walks away. CY tries to go after him but NX stops her, "You weren't as simple as I thought. I underestimated you." She warns CY away from XY, her future husband. CY sits there, dejected (she's constantly in tears in this episode- I don't even feel like writing it anymore - you would not be incorrect in assuming she's crying in all the scenes).
NX's underling asks about her deal with DS. He gets killed by Duo Er Tu (wow, next level crazy). NX despises being blackmailed, and says that she didn't promise DS anything. She won't be his pawn especially since he almost killed her. She also says that if CY dies, she will remain in XY's heart - so CY must be alive, and she wants her to watch them get married.
Duo Er Tu presents a list of expensive wedding dowry, pleasing the King. He asks the King for a favour to have CY officiate the wedding (the King actually hesitates- which is interesting since he's never been shown to have any care for CY at all). Next, XY gets a list from the King to prepare as dowry - he's at Pan Xiang Ge, XC's luxury shop.
Of course, that's the moment drunk XC walks in. It's like XY is the target waiting there for him. XC orders everyone to get out, and then starts by kicking XY down. XY doesn't defend himself as XC picks up him and throws him down, throws the things for the dowry at him. XC rages, "She waited for you at the prison all the time, only for you. As long as you were willing to take her away, even to the ends of the earth, she would have gone with you. She would have gone with you!" He throws XY across the room. "Weren't you going to elope with her? Why do you have to care so much about other things? Why do you torment her? Answer me!" He punches XY in the belly. "Even I can't bully her - do you know that?!" He punches XY on the face. "Answer me!" He kicks him and they both fall to the ground.
XC says more calmly now, "Xue Yao, why do you have to marry Na Xi? Do you know that by doing this, it's like you stuck a knife in CY's heart? Isn't there another way?" XY is in tears now too, and he silently shakes his head. XC sighs and says that in the past, no matter whether he regarded XY as a rival or as a friend, he still respected him because he won CY ('s heart), and he conceded that. XC gets up and grabs XY, "But this time, I look down on you." XY stays there, looking like death.
Back in his home, Mr Bai comes to see XY. XY asks if CY is out, and Mr Bai replies that the King has pardoned her. XY asks why is it he could find the strength to fight to his last drop of blood on the battlefield, but now in peacetime, he is unable to do anything. He sees the wolf carving on the table and knocks it away in annoyance. Mr Bai picks it up and observes it. He says that the person who carved it must have observed wolves for a long time - which means it's odd for NX to claim to have seen a wolf for the first time with XY. XY orders it to be investigated with their spies in Xi Zhao. "If she wants a deal, I'll make her a deal."
XC and TY come to get CY out of prison. She stops when she sees that their faces aren't happy, and asks what's the reason. TY says that the King has a condition, that she officiate the wedding between XY and NX. -End of Episode.-

Right, after that sweet scene - back to the angst in Episode 30 lol.
Episode 30 Recap:
DS tells NX not to let people know she's conscious because they have a common enemy - CY. If she captures CY for him, he'll help her get XY. He tells her to use her situation to her advantage.
XY is before the King again, using his free pass to save CY. He says that though he has no fate with CY, he doesn't want her to bear the crime while the real criminal is free. The King is exasperated now, saying that XY doesn't understand the situation - Xi Zhao is targeting her, and XY is the only thing they want. They want him to marry NX to "bring in joy" (because they think she's still unconscious), the same way he married CY in the beginning.
Ning Wang comes to visit, bearing gifts. He says ridiculous things like how normal-looking she is, and how bad-tempered she is, but because she makes his heart beat faster, he can accept her. NX who was pretending to lie in bed, can't hold it in and flings her dagger lying down. Duo Er Tu quickly pushes Ning Wang out of the way and tells him it was an intruder. Ning Wang scurries away to tell the King.
CY wraps herself in XY's cloak, then lies down to rest. XY comes on patrol. He sees her sleeping and quickly slashes the lock to go in. "Xu Chu Yue, wake up!" CY wakes up at his shaking and stares at him. Then she embraces him, saying "You finally came. I thought I was dreaming." XY says, "Who allowed you to dream? Who allowed you to sleep during the forbidden hours?" CY realises that he was very worried, and releases him to say, "I was only thinking of how to save NX." She asks if NX is awake, and XY shakes his head. CY says that she would be guilty her whole life if NX never woke; she never intended to harm her, she only wanted... to run away with him.
XY stands up and turns away, "Running away with me - don't say things like that anymore." CY reaches out her hand to his, but stops herself. She closes her eyes as tears roll down, letting their reality sink in. She wipes the tear away, and seems to finally accept their situation. "Ok, I won't say it anymore." She reaches out to hold the hem of his clothes, "Xue Yao, listen to me. I know you're miserable. The elopement - let's think of that as a beautiful dream. Now that the dream's over, you should leave. Whether I live or die, you shouldn't get involved anymore. I've already brought your brother down; I don't want to do that to you too." XY says, "That's enough. I got it." He releases himself and leaves.
XC gets ready to do a prison break with his men. They've paid off the guards. QYX asks if he really wants to do it because a prison break was a major crime. Meanwhile, LJ reports to XY that they found 3 poisons in TB's body, and these poisons are also present in DS's medicinal factory. XY thinks that if DS is the mastermind behind TB and the assassins, that means they tried to abduct CY because of the Birth Stone. He also realises that his brother's death must be connected to DS, because TB insinuated knowing about it more than once. LJ asks why XY doesn't talk it out with CY since that means CY is not directly linked to his brother's death anymore. XY says that they both still have to get past the obstacle of his brother, and he also has some other difficulties (NX, the King etc.). He says, "Perhaps when the time is right, she will forgive me." But first, he wants to focus on getting her out of prison.
XY and LJ go to investigate the alleged intruder in NX's room. He examines the dagger mark on the post. After telling LJ to leave, he tells NX to stop pretending and get up. NX opens her eyes and says that XY really knows her well.
Then it's a really sad scene for XC. They break in successfully with their prior arrangements. XC comes into CY's cell and tries to get her to leave. She throws his hand down, plants her feet and stares at XC as if she's never seen him, "Why don't you know me?" XC argues that it's her who doesn't know him; everything he's done, the title he's gotten, was all so that she wouldn't be bullied and suffer all these indignities anymore. It doesn't mean anything to him if she's going to end up in prison. She says that she doesn't need him to sacrifice himself for her. She raises her hand to hit him, but he refuses to budge, telling her to hit him all she wants. CY turns her hand into a fist and hits herself instead, "Are you leaving or not?!" When he doesn't answer, she hits the other side of her cheek. He stops her. She tells him firmly that she doesn't deserve what he's doing. She apologises and says that the better he treats her, the guiltier she feels towards him. He says that he could do everything when he thought of her always waiting for him in the distance. She throws his hands off and turns her back on him, "Leave. I won't wait for you anymore." XC reaches for her but stops himself. He asks with tears, "If the person standing here was Xue Yao, and he had decided he doesn't want anything else, (CY cries harder at this) only that you go with him, would you be willing?" CY doesn't answer, which is exactly the answer. XC demands, "Answer me. Answer me!"
CY turns around and kneels before him. XC can't believe that she would do that. She says, "I beg you. Leave. I don't need you anymore." XC cries, "Why must you treat me like this?" CY shouts, "Go!" XC has no choice, "Fine, I'll go. I'll go!"
QYX asks XC what should they do now - before they decide, other guards arrive.
XY is trying to get NX to clear CY's name, saying that he suspects DS was behind her poisoning. But NX says that she doesn't need the truth; she just wants him to marry her. If he agrees to marry her, she can let CY live. (URGH.) He asks if she would use her marriage just as a deal. She says that she's fine with it, she knows he doesn't love her but he owes her. She gives him a wolf carving, saying that it will remind him of her good. A soldier comes in to tell them that someone's tried to rescue CY and Duo Er Tu has already gone to the prison.-

@Jessica Vargas Rubio Ooh that's a scene I've not seen before... wonder where that will fit in.
Thought I should clarify something - this is in... I believe in Ep 31 (I skimmed the other episodes last night - will slowly watch them one by one later during the weekend). I would have covered it in a recap but since this has been coming up - actually when XC asked to take CY away - he told the King that they "did it" when they were drunk after XY's wedding, and that perhaps a royal baby was already growing in CY's belly. XY was outside the King's study at the time and heard this conversation. He struggles to believe that, of course - then when CY is blinded and XY goes to see her, XY tells XC that he doesn't believe him. But then XC goads him to check the mark on CY's neck. He says it's the proof of them sleeping together consensually. That's why when XY actually sees the mark in Ep 32, he flies into a blind rage.
@SC2019 I wrote that before I watched any of the latest episodes but now after watching Ep 29 and skimming the rest, I'm inclined to think that their characters are consistent. There are circumstances beyond either of their control, and in the situation, there wasn't any way for them to be together. Internally, they each had to work through their own guilt and confusion and sorrow; externally, other parties were working against them. I can understand that they both needed some space to do what they needed to do/ deal with their emotions - and they knew it, which is why it makes it harder for them to communicate with each other - because it couldn't be no matter how they wished, so it would only make it harder on themselves. The thing about XY and CY is they feel like real people - unlike drama characters who commonly can forsake everything for love (like NX), love is important to them but so is family and honour.
@xiaoxf I like your point about XY wanting to build a family with CY. That is why it really hurt him when he heard about CY possibly having a child with someone else.
@lovehuche I did want to translate this clip haha! A sweeter moment - also because the "signed and sealed" bit comes back later - so now we know this is where it first happened.
This is the ending bit of Episode 27:
CY: You've been staring at me for a long time now. When are we eloping.
XY just makes a sound.
CY: Huh? Let's go then.
XY: Who wants to elope with you?
CY: What do you mean then?
XY: I want to be with you openly.
CY: Father won't rescind his decree. And NX won't give up on you either.
XY: I know. So, we have to act first, talk later.
CY: Act first, talk later?!
XY: Yes. You secretly came out of the palace to meet me - this will become a royal scandal. What I mean is before the King realises and finds you, you become my wife. Then I'll use that free pass (the one that saves them from death) to save your life.
CY still shakes her head.
XY: Xu Chu Yue, you have to be ready. We're pledging ourselves to each other now.
CY: No! You drank some alcohol. What if you wake up in the morning and pretend it never happened?
XY: I'm very sober right now. If you don't believe me, then... let's sign and seal it.
CY: Sign and seal it?
XY: (places his thumb on her lips) Signed... and sealed. (grabs her for a kiss)
CY smiles as they break apart. XY pushes her down.
XY: What are you smiling about?
CY: Hurry up and sleep. We've got lots to do tomorrow.

Particularly if XY was planning on marrying her again...
I kinda also think this is another reason it hurt him even more to think that CY slept with someone else first...

Oh dear the front bit of Episode 29 actually made me cry... Although they care deeply for each other, our main couple need space and time to process their new discoveries. At the same time, the villains are all unleashing their claws - we're definitely reaching the climax of the drama.
Episode 29 Recap:
Starts in the evil lair this time - DS flashes back to when the King had discovered Lady Yun's affair and (probably) had her killed. He had worked hard to become the Diviner's disciple so that he could learn all about the Birth Stone and use it to revive her. He decides that it's time to stop pretending, and tells his apprentice to let people know about NX.
Then we're back at the restaurant where drunken XY comes down to the counter and asks the boss for the string of money CY paid (I legit struggled at this transition for a few seconds - I forgot this was where we left off). The boss says that he's given it all out in change, and XY heads onto the streets, grabbing passerbys to return his money. CY chases after him, grabbing him to stop and offering to pay him back. XY asks what will she use to return it (arghhh it's starting). She grabs her earrings and asks if it is enough. (At this point she is still angry and confused with his behaviour.) XY explodes, "Did you know that money was the government's compensation for my brother's death? That was gained with his life, and it was the only thing I was holding on to. What will you use to return it?!"
CY is shocked, of course. They stare at each other in tense silence, emotions running high. CY starts, "I didn't know..." XY grabs her close, "Do you want to return it? Return it then! Return my brother to me!" CY has tears now, "I'm sorry, I didn't know..." XY returns, "You're sorry! My brother's life in exchange for your apology! Did you know - he died in the fire in order to save you!"
CY is stunned now. She slowly shakes her head, telling him to make it clear. XY says, "I never thought that after searching for such a long time, it was the person next to me in my bed." CY tries to deny it, "It can't be... I don't know your brother... how could I?" (this is the scene from previews). XY knows that, "That's right. You didn't even know him". He takes the letter out and throws it at her.
CY shakily picks up the letter and reads. "Princess, as your guard, I watched over you from afar and unwittingly discovered your secret. The day you became a rabbit, I sent everyone away. I tried my best to protect the secret you were hiding. You became a horse, and you kicked me that I couldn't hold my sword (he had his arm in a sling). You dreamt that Mo Mo would drown in the pond, so you kept watch there, but fell in by accident trying to kill mosquitoes. I was going to save you, but then Mo Mo and everyone else came. You were so clumsy yet so cute; I think I started noticing you then. But you never remembered what happened when you transformed, and you never knew all the times I helped you. I thought of so many ways to protect your secret; unconsciously, I lived becoming the secret you didn't know. (OH MY THE TEARS...)" CY keeps reading as XY waits, angrily drinking and trashing the area. "My brother asked me the type of girl I liked, and I knew the answer after I met you. You were a secret I privately put in my heart, my one-sided beloved. I joined the army when I was young, and Xi Zhao has not been conquered - how could I dream to be worthy of you? This palace does not allow for yearning lovers; yet it can hold a guard's unwavering protection. Without those assassins who appear from nowhere, I wouldn't be writing you this letter." He says that those assassins appear every month and he's been investigating to no avail. He sounds like he's going on a final mission, and wishes her well. CY is sobbing as the letter ends, "My final words, Guan Shan Xue Mu."
XY drops to his knees in front of her, tears streaming down his face as he stares at her in agony. CY struggles, asking him "Xue Yao, what should I do?" XY asks, "Why? Why was it you out of all people? My brother paved the way for my career." He is breaking down, "Do I have to let him pave the way for my marriage too?" CY embraces him as they both cry.
She apologises over and over, "Xue Yao, I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I really didn't know it was like that. Please don't be like this... I'm sorry, I'm so sorry!" SO MUCH TEARS XY wipes his tears, and resolutely pushes her away strongly that she topples to the ground. "Xu Chu Yue, we need to take a break. Ling Xi Court - I'm not going." He gets up and stumbles away, "I'm not going!" He falls in the distance. CY watches him and cries helplessly.
Then it's the bit where NX is unconscious due to the medicine CY got from DS. The King is in knots, since the Imperial Doctor doesn't have a solution.
TY comes to comfort CY and bring her home. CY wonders, "With so much sin on me, where can I go?" TY cries silently behind her back when CY appeals "Mr Guan Shan, if you're watching me from above, can you tell me what to do?" In the pits of her despair, guards appear and CY is arrested for her role in "poisoning" NX. I should clarify - when CY took the medicine, she told DS that she wanted to let NX sleep longer so that she could cure her wounds - it wasn't so that she could elope. But regardless - it just fell in with DS's plans.
CY tries to deny it before the King - XC comes to take her away. CY and XC go to question DS, who is now cold to them and denies he ever gave her anything harmful. The King's men arrive again and this time, CY is taken to jail. DS is preparing a dose of medicine for the King.
Over at Xue Manor, XY starts awake in his sleep, "Chu Yue!" (the scene from the previews) He looks over to the spot next to him and thinks of what CY said the night before. He realises that his brother had such feelings for CY too. Unable to sleep, he heads out and practices his swordsmanship. Aunt comes to ask what happened to the wedding. XY tells her everything, and Aunt cries for the sad fate between CY and XY. Then, Mr. Bai shows up and tells XY that CY's in trouble.
Then it's the preview scene where XY visits her in jail and hides after giving her his cloak. CY doesn't see it at first, and tries to trick the guards into letting her out. But on her way, she spots the cloak and calls out for XY - which makes the guard lock her up again. CY tells the guard to tell the King that she had a dream. Dejected, she thinks that XY probably never wants to see her again.
DS gives his medicine to the King. The King asks about NX and DS denies knowledge, even lying that CY once asked him to look for poison. He volunteers to cure her, of course.
XY approaches CY (like the previews) and tells her that she can't transform again. She reveals that she was only trying to get the King to release her. She asks if he was worried about her, her eyes full of hope. He answers that her life was in exchange for his brother's, so she must live up to it. The hope dies in her eyes, but she says, "Yes, I will live well." Then she tells him of DS, which XY is already investigating. CY can't believe that DS is like that, and XY reminds her that he told her to be careful of people. She thanks him as he leaves. He reminds her not to sleep during the forbidden hours, but then seeing that her eyes lit up again, he says, "otherwise, my brother would not rest in peace." CY turns away in tears, "Can you please not bring up Mr. Guan Shan's name? Every time I hear his name, it makes me feel like a sinner." XY answers, "It's the same for me. We both are."
The next morning, CY is brought before the King. At first she lies and says she saw a traitor from Nan Sang working with Xi Zhao. But she says she couldn't see who they were. The King doesn't believe her and orders her to be sent back to prison. She gives it up, saying that she didn't actually dream that, but she did dream of her father. Her father told her to take care of herself and live. She still asks the King, "Without the Birth Stone, do you really have no mercy for me at all?" The King doesn't pretend anymore either, ordering her away. As she is led away, CY smiles bitterly through her tears, seeming to finally understand the true faces of the people around her.
DS gets NX to wake up. He tells NX and her aide not to release the news of her recovery yet - because they have a common enemy. -End of Episode.Actually, at this point, I think XY's reaction is justified. It's complicated a lot by his guilt towards the fact that he loves the same person his brother loved, a love his brother never got reciprocated and even died for. CY's situation is also not caused just because of XY... she's also being targeted by all these other people. I think it's good if she would truly learn to discern the characters of people and not trust someone blindly and so easily - like I really don't understand why she trusted NX so much in the last few episodes, knowing NX's feelings for XY.

XY is jealous at the thought of CY being with someone else, and CY is the same since I think at this point, XY is married to NX. They're both upset at each other, which is probably causing them to say hurtful things.
I think CY thought it was XC who came in - she's blinded at this point.
CY: Why aren't you saying anything? *Sigh* Alright, alright, I'll do as you said, ok?
CY says all the greetings a wife would say to her husband (It's like she's saying what she thinks she should say).
CY: Wang Ye (Prince), you're finally back. Yue Er has been waiting a long time. Yue Er doesn't want to eat candied fruit; Yue Er wants to eat sour dates. (I think this grates on XY's ears because she's acting all cutesy). I won't use those cosmetics either because it's not good for the baby.
XY: You've thought it all out.
CY's face falls.
CY: Why is it you?
XY: If I didn't see this with my own eyes, I couldn't have imagined it. You have this side to you.
CY: It's not like that! It's... I... (thinks to herself) XC said there might be spies... if there are spies, would this harm XC?
XY: The Xu Chu Yue who wanted to elope with me back then - is she dead?
CY: She's not dead, but her heart's dead.
XY lightly touches the bruise behind CY's ear.
XY: What were you thinking when he did this to you?
CY: Let go of me! This is Shun Wang's Manor. Please behave yourself! (like, conduct yourself in a gentlemanly, self-respecting way).
XY: Tell me - when he did this to you, did you ask him to behave himself? Did you ask him to behave himself?! TELL ME! SAY IT!
CY slaps him.
XY: Leave. Don't make me hate you. Get out!

Aww man the heartbreak and the angst. I can already feel it even without watching the latest episodes. Lots of comments about how it's one misunderstanding after the other, because of the lack of communication - which is odd because this was not what CY was like before (though XY was always stoic and not one to explain himself, and still is, from the looks of it). I'm going to have to watch to see if I like how they developed that, or if her character's regressed... Seems like NX is EVIL! To think that I thought she was just annoyingly cool
XY had the right measure of her! And based on what @SC2019 summarised, I was right about XY marrying NX being a deal with her, AND even the King! Hah. Anyway, I haven't time to watch and recap right this moment... I'll probably take my time to do it since the episodes are spaced further apart now, and of course, anyone else can feel free to join in.
I can do the clips for now. Not entirely sure where they slot in - but they were described in the summary earlier.
The part where CY officiates the wedding between XY and NX:
CY: The hour has come. Welcome the bride and groom. (XY seems shocked to see her, turning at her voice.)
CY: May the groom greet the bride.
XY: I told you to leave - didn't you get it?
CY: I wanted to be like you - to put it aside. But I can't do it. Maybe if I see you get married with my own eyes, I'll finally give up. May the groom greet the bride.
She hands him the sash - and as his hand reaches out to hers (I almost think he really intended to grab her hand), she quickly lets go before he touches her. (argh this gets me)
CY: I wish the bride and groom happiness for your lifetime, and be blessed with children. (NOOO CY!!)
XY steps towards her.
NX: XY, the King is watching. You don't want to destroy all this.
(I love the OST at this part - this is my favourite among the soundtracks - The words at this part say, "How would you choose, if you had one more chance? Would you be rational, or follow your heart?")

Seems like more angst and sad stuff to work through before our couple can be together
Actually I did see a scene (not sure which preview/ song trailer maybe) where CY was in jail, so this is not a surprise to me - according to the scenes I saw, XC appears to save her at some point - and she seems to say to him (could be misleading with the way previews are cut), "Why do you still not understand me? I don't need you to sacrifice yourself for me."
I haven't found a link for the preview videos... I saw it on Mango TV's website.
Episode 29 Preview:
XY wakes up in bed, "Chu Yue!" He looks at the empty spot next to him (hmm... this could be a good sign that they were together? before they were separated?)
CY is lying in a cell, shivering. XY comes to visit her, and he reaches his hand out but then changes his mind. He takes off his cloak and throws it in, quickly running away to hide in the corner.
CY picks it up and says, "This wasn't here last night... " then thinks, "Could it be that he came?"
(I think this might be after a few more lines...) XY comes out of hiding now and approaches CY, "Did you have a bad dream again last night?"
CY is startled and turns to see him. She reaches out her hand to him (which he doesn't take - he's standing further away), "You finally came."
XY answers, "You can't transform anymore, okay?"
CY asks hopefully, "Are you worried about me?"Hmm... my thoughts/ guesses are - based on this preview, and some other things I've picked up here and there - I think CY transformed into another animal, but maybe halfway (?) and XY came to her rescue. I saw either a photo/short clip where one of CY's ears was furry. I think this probably goes into that bed scene we saw earlier as well. And maybe that's when he left NX and ran away with CY...
Episode 30 Preview:
XY and NX are in the jail cell - fighting sounds in the distance.
NX angrily asks XY, "You didn't even know if I was dead or alive - but you couldn't wait to run away with that evil woman!" (lit. is "poisonous" but it's more like dangerous, scheming imo - also a lot of wives like to call cheaters that).
She turns to her underling, "Duo Er Fu, don't let a single one go!" He obeys and aims his arrow at a cell.
Two other masked men comes to fight NX's soldiers. One of them says to the other, "Wang Ye (Prince), you go first!" The other replies, "No, if we go, we go together!" XY recognises that it's XC. He shouts, "Hold it!"
Another scene where XY comes to see CY locked in a jail cell. He cuts away the lock and shakes her, "Xu Chu Yue, wake up!" CY wakes up and hugs him. "You finally came. I thought I was dreaming." XY replies, "Who said you could dream? Who said you could sleep in the forbidden hours?"
Now they are outside the cell. CY reaches and holds his hand, asking, "Why? Didn't you say you don't like her? Why did you marry her?" XY answers, "It's none of your business who I marry." and takes his hand away.GAHHH I sense frustration coming. But as @enzek suggested, I agree in the thought that perhaps XY struck a deal with NX for CY's protection. Or maybe even with the King.

@lovehuche I actually wondered about that before but I felt like it didn't quite sound like her in the drama (from hearing her real voice in the BTS videos). I looked it up just now and only ZYC is using his real voice in the drama - the rest of the actors are all dubbed, including Hu Yi Xuan. I find it a bit sad for actresses sometimes - it seems like they often want the female characters to sound higher-pitched, cuter (?) almost. Most of the actresses have lower pitches in real life, I feel. ZYC on the other hand, is praised for having a voice well suited for costume dramas; on top of that, he also has very good diction and tone for his characters.

(Rehearsing) NX: What are you doing?
CY: None of your business. I'm not taking it off!
PBY: What I wanted to see most is the special effects makeup on CY.
HYX: The biggest challenge for me personally was acting as animals. But after the special effects makeup, I thought it was quite fun, quite adorable, to my surprise.
HYX (lying in the box as a mouse): Does this affect my looks? (Haha HYX seems quite concerned about her looks- this is not the first time she's asked this question in the BTS videos)
Dir: You don't have any looks now. (lol Director is savage) Ok, get ready. You're a mouse now.
Dir: She was quite nervous because she didn't know how to play an animal. So I gave her some tips - like little actions.
Dir (guiding HYX): So a mouse would go... then stop to take a rest... then eat something and start moving again. And then eat... so you'd keep this condition.
Dir: Action!
HYX: Hang on. My teeth fell.
XY is rehearsing the kiss scene with the staff and HYX.
HYX: I was very shy when we first filmed a kiss scene - (ZYC: What's that?!) because we didn't know each other well at the beginning, and we had to film a kiss scene. So my ears were really red that day - it was constantly red. I think we filmed for 2-3 hours, and my ears stayed red the whole time. It's too embarrassing.
XY: I really want to carve out your heart and see what is it that you want.
CY: I want freedom - freedom to sleep, freedom to love someone.
ZYC: There's a strange feeling working with Yi Xuan. When I look into her eyes, my emotions get really intense (lit. like rising and rolling over and over. Oh my) She's a very unassuming genius at acting.
Dir: Are your eyes dry or are you really crying?
HYX: I'm really crying!
Dir: Oh, alright then. Hahaha (this director is hilarious)
HYX: Both of them (probably referring to the Director and ZYC) helped me a lot. They made me more confident, and I got a better hold of CY as a character.Water scenes
ZYC: She's very professional. Although Yi Xuan is young (she's only 2 years younger than ZYC), she never says that she's tired, or that she's having a hard time.
ZYC: That day when we filmed going into the water, we were in the water the whole day. It was cold; the weather was cold.
ZYC: I think she wasn't very well that day. She did her best to complete the filming even though she didn't feel well. I think she's very professional; she's great.
HYX: My feeling was that if I was feeling better that day, we could have finished filming quicker.
*cute winks*
(plays the guitar)
HYX: The pace at the set is very fast. Sometimes, just to release some stress, I would play the guitar. Just moving my fingers, listening to the sounds - it releases the stress for me. And it makes people around me happy too. (the staff clap at her singing and playing)
HYX: I'm really happy every day working on the set. I think that if you keep a happy mindset while you work, the thing you produce would be different.
(She's pretending to be like the director/ camera director perhaps): Can't you see those clutter? What is that can of Coke doing there?
Dir: Right, let's get a close-up.
HYX: Ok, I'll go cameo as an actor.
CY: Why are you biting me? I'm trying to coax you. (hmm where would this dialogue fit in... she seems to have a bite on her neck).
Dir: Cut! Ok.
Dir: That... actor, you're all done.
HYX: I'm done filming! (the whole drama)
Dir: Congratulations.
HYX: I don't want to be done.Aww it looks like a really happy crew and they had a blast on set. ZYC said something similar in his interview too - that they would all feel quite unwilling to leave when they're done.

@lovehuche Ooh that's interesting - we saw the video from ZYC earlier so we knew he could sing and play the guitar - but HYX is a pleasant surprise too! I like her voice!

A: My character this time is a cold-faced general, a newbie in love. Well... a cold-faced general... literally means that, cold-faced haha. In the process of trying to find out the cause of his brother's death, he learns to love and learns the true meaning of life.
Q: As someone with a background in martial arts (I didn't know this), do you think you should do everything yourself while filming, or just do your best?
A: I think it should be just do your best - just do your best to do everything yourself (smart answer). If you do that, the visuals turn out better, and you wouldn't have as much regret. But at the same time, you shouldn't do something you're not confident about because filming doesn't involve you alone. If something happens to you, then the hundreds of people involved have to wait for you; also it would affect the following filming and production schedule, which would affect the overall quality of the show.

A: Of course! (he gets up and dances - ZYC is such a goofball.)

Episode 28 Recap (Part 2):
XC and CY are doing paper cuttings, decorating the bridal chamber along with LJ and NN. LJ and NN are having their own show, as he pesters her to tell him why he's annoying (she said so earlier while hitting him coyly). Shenanigans happen, and she ends up slipping (again) and LJ catches her. She hits him lightly again and says "And you still say you're not annoying." She gets up to leave but he catches her and bends her down, "I am quite annoying" (hey, the boy is growing - not as dense as before lol). CY and XC leave to give them space LOL. NN gives in and leans on LJ's shoulder. Well, at least one couple is happy.
And that's the end of the happy times... TY enters XY's study and opens the box. She finds the 3 things DS's apprentice secretly hid - she opens the letter (seems like she hasn't seen it before). Before she can do anything, XY comes in and asks why she's here. TY tries to escape with the letter behind her back but XY catches on, of course, and takes the letter (it's signed "Guan Shan Xue Mu") from her hands. He goes to the box and sees those things, wondering why the 2nd volume of Guan Shan is there. He sees the LYFX receipt stub (Princess Chu Yue is written on it) and the letter - he recognises his brother's handwriting (ACK I can't watch). He reads the letter:
"Princess Chu Yue, this is my first, and probably the last time writing to you. This "Journal of Guan Shan" is my present to you; forgive me for using the eyes of Guan Shan to tell you about all the places I've seen in such an abrupt manner. Guan Shan and Wan Wan don't exist in this world, though there is you, who can't sleep at night, just like Wan Wan ("Wan" is the word for "Night", so "Wan Wan" is like an affectionate name). Though we've met and yet not known each other, we can be like old friends chatting through the night in my book. (all through this are flashbacks of XM watching CY - and transition to XY reading in shock) Forgive me for my cowardice and weakness; I can only watch you from afar. I am not Guan Shan, but someday you'll be someone's Wan Wan. (scenes of CY dressed in her bridal dress with NN) On that day, you'll be the most beautiful bride."
XY stops reading here, tears in his eyes. TY says that she knew his heart a long time ago - she had mistakenly thought he liked her at first, but she soon realised that it was the princess whom he liked. XY questions why she didn't say anything before. TY says, "He watched over the Princess. So I'm watching over him. He gave his life in exchange for the Princess's. I won't allow anyone to bully her."
TY tells XY what happened (as she knows it...). CY became a dragon and ran to Ying Hua Temple/Hall (the ancestral shrine). She danced and then after a while, fell unconscious. Then, a candle was knocked over (AHA. Important point - correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I can see - CY didn't knock down the candle - she was already unconscious on the ground. I think this lends credit to @xiaoxf's theory that someone else might be involved...) XM quickly closed the door (also important - that means TY didn't see what happened here). He opened it again to bring CY out to TY, telling her to leave "This place is dangerous." When TY came back, she saw his body being lifted out, and apparently there were three ancestral plaques found under him (which is why the official story says what it says). TY says that he had fallen unconscious from the smoke, and was burned to death.
XY concludes that all that happened, and CY didn't even remember him. TY says that CY can't be blamed because she never remembers what happens when she transforms. XY leaves in tears of anger, unable to process his new-found knowledge.
CY is happily preparing herself, while teasing NN in the process. XC comes and wonders why XY isn't here yet - he has an ominous feeling that something is going to happen. He goes to check at Xue Manor.
XY is drinking himself into a stupor outside in a restaurant. He has the spinning top that he used to play with his brother, and the string of money (the monthly recompense the government pays for XM's death). He flashes back to a time when he visited his brother in the Palace when he had just joined the army. He asked how life was in the Palace, and XM answered, "It's not too bad." A group of maids pass by and greet him flirtatiously, "General Xue." XY teases his brother, "Not too bad at all." XM tells him to cut it out since he's not interested in them. XY asks who is he interested in then. XM doesn't answer but says that he's going on duty at Guo Xi Pavilion. XY continues to pester his brother to tell him what kind of girl he likes, even joking that since his brother doesn't like the maids, he's probably in love with the princess. (Ack.)
XY mumbles in the present, "No wonder you always wanted to go to Guo Xi Pavilion." Staring at the string of money, "You only wanted to watch over her. We said that we would make something of ourselves together. But now you've become this string of money." He laughs bitterly, "Ridiculous. This is ridiculous!" (aw man I feel really bad for him actually).
TY finds him and tells him to go to Ling Xi Court since the Princess is waiting for him. He answers, "Tell her I'm not coming. This wedding... can't go through." (*heartbreak*)
CY and NN wait over at Ling Xi Court. NN ventures hesitantly if XY might have decided to skip the wedding. CY says that she believes in him. TY comes to get CY.
They arrive at the restaurant and CY tries to get him up. TY starts, "Princess, the General was going to prepare..." She doesn't finish when CY cuts her off and asks for a room. She doesn't have any money to pay for the wine because they rushed out - which is when CY spots the string of money (Oh no...)
CY tends to him, nagging him for not coming when he was the one who proposed the wedding. He stirs awake and sits up. She gently touches his face, asking if he's alright (my heart is being squeezed so bad - she's so tender with him). He stares at her and grips her wrist really tightly. She winces that he's hurting her, and takes her hand away. She hits him lightly, asking "Why did you get yourself drunk?"
He gets up and starts patting his clothes (looking for something). She asks, "Why didn't you come to Ling Xi Court?" He doesn't answer. She continues, "Are you going back on your word?" He asks, "Where's my money?" She answers that she paid with the money. He asks, "Who told you to touch my money?" She grabs his arm and says, "I'm your wife. I only spent some of your money, why are you... " He takes her hands away and walks out, just as TY comes in with a basin of water. CY stares at her hands in shock, at a loss. - End of Episode.Bring it on, Episode 29! I'm so ready for you! So ready for the pain of that scene on the street.
I can just keep rewatching the sweet scenes to make it all good

Oh and you gave me a sweet one (the beginning anyway) to recap! Haha I skimmed Eps 26-28 last night because I really had to go to bed... I'll rewatch them properly since the new episodes are so far away (!) I was tempted to just wait till next week but since you all will be waiting - Episode 28 it shall be.
Ah I wanted to note something because neither recap mentioned this - so in Ep 27, the bit where CY is dressed as a maid to go to XY in the middle of the night. I could be wrong since I skimmed but I think the reason she's dressed as a maid is because she can't leave the palace as herself.
Episode 28 Recap:
XY wakes up with CY in his arms. He wishes that they could be like this all the time. CY says that the night after hibernation is always long, but to her it makes no difference because at the end of every sleepless night, is the longing for her beloved. (What... that made no sense... XY says the same lol.) Oh, she says it's a quote from Guan Shan lol. She gives XY a kiss on his cheek and tells him to get up to eat.
XY hilariously tries to shield the sun for her at the roadside stall where they are eating but his hand is too far away. CY pulls it closer to her face.XY feeds her the wontons and they act all lovey-dovey, attracting the jealousy of the couple at the next table, the lady actually doesn't want to eat anymore HAHA. CY gets self-conscious and tries to eat herself but XY stops her and pats her head.
CY asks what will they do after eating, and he says "Get married." Haha love how he just says it matter of factly. She asks how will they do that and he says, "It's not like you've not done it before." She argues that she was unconscious (exactly...) and also she thought they were going to elope. He says that he can't allow her to be wronged again. She asks if he isn't afraid that the King would punish him, but he says, "I'm more afraid of not being able to be with you." (oh dear the foreshadowing in this episode...)
CY continues, "Don't you mind about your brother's death anymore?" He replies that she shouldn't have come to him last night - after she came, he thought that if such a weak woman like her could be so brave, then why should he be so troubled? He has become the dishonorable, disloyal, unrighteous and unfilial person like she said. "Let's go to hell together."
Then it's CY's turn to feed him, and she says that there's something at the corner of his mouth - she leans over and kisses him there. (AHH this is making me smile like a loony.) He is stunned, then smiles. He feeds her next, and when she leans in, he leans in too (oh my their chemistry).
XY tells CY his plan for their wedding. He will prepare the wedding gifts with his Aunt and CY is to decorate their bridal chamber. He proposes to get married in Ling Xi Court - they will rise from where they fell. (I like how they're not ignoring this matter)
He brings her to the bookstore for his gifts - it happens to be the one which she frequents, and the seller recognises her, of course. The bookseller shows her the books she likes but she quickly hides it (HAHA this is cracking me up) and says, "I don't read these books - I like PROPER books." LOL. XY smirks and tells the bookseller to bring out all the ones she likes because he's buying them all. Out they come, and the titles are like "Missing My Beloved", "The Sad Life of the Prince Consort" and then "36 Ways to Tame the Husband" Embarrassed, CY decides to leave and look for XC to be a witness for their wedding. XY laughs at her leaving. He asks the bookseller about the book she likes, "The Journals of Guan Shan" and of course, the bookseller says there isn't a 2nd volume.
LJ tells NN of XY and CY and initially thinks that she'll be upset. She is, but because she thinks CY is being silly, like a flower sticking to cow dung (aw see she's a true friend! though it's funny how she's so against XY now). She goes to Pan Xiang Ge to get CY a gift and picks a free gift, which she presents to LJ after they leave the store. He keeps his distance from her (as she ordered him to) even though he also bought her a gift. She takes back her order and goes to get it, slipping into his arms in the process (I actually saw the BTS for this - it's hilarious HAHA the actress was learning the slip from the Director). Anyway it seems like NN is growing fond of LJ now. She accepts his gift, and they're both happy.
CY eats with XC and tells him she's now even worried what XY will think of her eating face. XC says that he didn't even mind when she became a pig - CY is worrying over nothing. CY is surprised that he's saying something in XY's favour since she thought he'd disagree over their plans to get married (without permission). He does disagree but doesn't think he can do anything about it given that she's risking her life to do it. He tells her seriously that if XY wrongs her once more, no matter the reason, he'll take her away this time. CY thinks to herself that XC seems different than before. XC's right-hand man (I shall call his name Qin Yi Xiao, QYX now) tells them that the old beggar, Uncle Liao is now awake.
They go to see him - this time he calls her Xu Chu Yue, and tells her that he was her father's best friend. Her father predicted the danger that CY would be in with the Birth Stone - he didn't want CY to be the King's puppet so Uncle Liao took her away. Unfortunately the King's men found him and he was attacked, leaving him with permanent head injuries that made him lucid sometimes, but totally out of it at other times. He finished all his savings and begged, so that he could find her again. CY asks if he knew how her dad died. Uncle Liao says her father knew his death was imminent, and he wanted to save the last chance had to save her, to keep her alive. But then Uncle Liao's head started hurting so CY told him to rest. XC assures her that he will treat him.
Evil Hooded Master tells his apprentice to take the 2nd volume of "The Journals of Guan Shan", the letter addressed to CY and the LYFX stub (the receipt that tells who the intended recipient is) secretly to Xue Manor. (ARGHHH) He says then when XY is taken back to Xi Zhao by NX, no one can protect CY anymore. At full moon, with CY and the book, he'll be able to see his "Fei Xue" again. He goes closer to the comatose lady, "Xue Er, if we can't be happy, why should we see others happy?" He throws his hood down and reveals his face - Dong Shi. (and his voice changes for some reason LOL. Also I knew this was coming but was still hoping it wouldn't be true - so annoying and mad on CY's behalf!)
XY returns with his purchase of the books as his wedding gifts. Aunt says that there were already such books in the house. XY wonders if CY left them behind previously, but Aunt says they were there before she got married to him; might be his brother's. TY starts in shock in the background. XY asks for the books, and Aunt says she will get the maids to bring it out to him.-

Episode 25 Recap (Part 2):
XY carries the sleeping CY back. NX comes to look for him, saying that they should talk.
XY tells NX to stop pretending and asks why she's here. NX says "What else can I want?" She says that Xi Zhao now belongs to her brother and her (hmm sounds like they staged a coup with XY's help in return for becoming Nan Sang's territory.) She doesn't understand why a General like himself became a mere Palace Guard, and has an ambiguous relationship with a woman who only sleeps (Hey! That's just mean to someone who's only ever been nice to you.) XY thinks she's after CY, but NX says of course not.
CY dreams of happy times with the King, who's playing with her as a child. As she turns round and round, the father figure changes into her real father, the late Diviner. Her dad asks if she remembers the chant he taught her, and both little and grown CY say together, "When the Birth Stone appears, heavens and earth become one. Past and future, turning woe and fortune." Little CY disappears. Grown up CY runs to Dad and says she's missed him. Dad is here to save her life - he tells her to remember everything he's saying. He saw in his last prediction that she would have the misfortune of the Birth Stone entering her body. His last wish is for her to have a safe and peaceful life - he tells her that if she only has one chance left, to use it on herself. CY nods. He passes her the book, saying that the way to save herself is in there - she must read it carefully. He says that she will be able to save herself if she manages to use it during the full moon. Then CY wakes up.
NX tells XY that she's here because of him. They offered him everything but couldn't get him to stay - she wondered what does Nan Sang have to offer. XY says there was no way he would have stayed in Xi Zhao given that he's the descendant of Nan Sang's generals. He asks why is she bothering CY if she's after him. NX answers it's because CY's always bothering him - she holds up her wound and says that as long as she's still injured, CY will still look after her. She squeezes the wound deliberately to make it bleed (ARGH). Preview scene- XY tries to stop her but it results in NX hugging him - and CY arrives to see it.
XY turns and calls out to her. But before he can say anything, the royal decree arrives (NOOOO). Don't need to translate the decree since I'm sure all of us know that now LOL. As the Eunuch drones on, XY glances backwards towards NX - he knows this is her doing. Both CY and XY are frozen to the ground, looking at each other. XY shakes his head as CY looks at him questioningly - both of them have tears in their eyes.
NX accepts the decree since both of them are ignoring it. She says, "There must be a misunderstanding. Though I came with the mission of getting a diplomatic marriage, I don't know why the King laid down this decree. CY, you won't blame us, right?" (OH YOU LIAR.) -End of Episode.Oh dear... I know that's a horrid place to end but it's really too late now

EUARGHHHH Even though I knew what was going to happen, it still made me so maddddd!! There were some sweet moments in the beginning- but it's all going to pits before it's going to get better.
Also, I ended up having more to do earlier so I'm not sure I'm going to do two episodes... it'll be way past bedtime...
Episode 25 Recap:
Start from the scene where XY asks TY if she knew his brother. She merely says that she knew him as the guard.
XY puts on his armour again and stays guard outside CY's palace. He thinks, "Brother, I'm weak. I don't want to be tormented by hate anymore. I can't let go of her." He hears footsteps and quickly closes his eyes. This was in some previews before (or maybe the song?) - CY thinks he's asleep and bends down next to him, slowly tracing his face. Then she starts amusing herself by poking and tickling him. He opens his eyes and grabs her into his arms.
CY tells him to let her go; it's not good if someone sees. XY says, "You're my wife." CY replies, "I was." XY asks, "What about now? Are you still my wife now?" He bends to kiss her and it seems like CY raises her head too but nope - she pushes herself away and plops down next to him, though she's smiling.
They sit in awkward silence. CY asks if he knew NX before. He admits that he does; he fought them and they fought together. CY asks why didn't he say something before, and he says that there was nothing to be said - everyone in Xi Zhao knows him, and there's nothing between NX and him (oh dear...). He tells her not to get so close to her because they don't share the same goals/ paths. CY says it's too late because they're already friends (CY trusts NX so easily...) and she feels like she's been kept in the dark. XY returns that she was the one who wanted to be strangers, and she was the one who met so many potential matches (LOL). She asks if he's never going to let that go - and he says, "Yes, you've got a record (he uses the word used for criminal record) here now" pointing to his heart.
She walks away shyly. He says the main issue they have now is finding a way to officially bring her back to Xue Manor. She asks, "Do you really want to bring me back?" He comes and backhugs her, simply saying, "I've lost." (ah... ok I melted a bit) She smiles and turns around, dropping her head into his shoulder, then putting her chin on it, saying, "Erm.. if only... Father... would make us marry again..." (aww she's so cute.) XY agrees, looking at their linked hands.
He suddenly has a thought. Preview scene where he suggests they have babies hee. (I think he's only half joking.) CY runs into her room in embarrassment.
NX asks her ambassador how the negotiations are going. He replies that they're at an impasse - so NX says they should work on the second matter now - her diplomatic marriage. He wonders who she's choosing between XC and Ning Wang (pfff) - NX throws a dagger at TB who's spying on them. She tells her ambassador to investigate the matter.
TB reports to Hooded Master about NX's interest in a diplomatic marriage. Hooded Master already knows her background and knows she's here for XY. He thinks it's good if XY returns to Xi Zhao because no one would protect CY then. TB also reports that they found the old beggar (Old Liao) but haven't been able to get a hold of him.
The King is choosing someone to send food to his people suffering from drought. NW is eliminated because of his face injuries (LOL) so XC is chosen. XC asks to bring CY along and the King agrees. Then NX enters and brings up the diplomatic marriage proposal, promising to share the precious metal mine if that happens. The King is overjoyed and asks who she wants. NX says, "My chosen one is..."
LJ reports to XY about the threat of revenge towards CY from NW and Lady Su. But they think it's strange that CY would be so thoughtless towards etiquette on the former king's death anniversary. XY suspects NX has something to do with it and asks to see CY (who's gone with XC).
CY is distributing food personally to the people in line. Somehow NX is there as well. An old man (this is Old Liao) comes forward, and recognising her, excitedly calls her "Yue Er" (like one would call a child). He comes around and holds her hand, then he holds out something towards her (but from a distance looks like he's attacking her). NX gets up to defend CY but Old Liao has a knife and in the scuffle, NX's wrist gets cut. The old man had passed CY a child's toy. Two men watching in the distance leave.
NX gets her wound bandaged. CY feels sorry because it might leave a scar, but NX says it doesn't matter as she has worse scars, showing CY her scar from a wolf's bite. CY wonders how she got that since she's also a princess, and NX says she did it to save her beloved, so she thinks it's the best thing she did in her life (ARGH). CY is interested to hear that she has a beloved, but NX just smiles and turns away (argh again).
XC and CY visit the old man in prison. Old Liao seems a bit crazy and speaks only in phrases. CY speaks to him alone, and he gives her the 2nd half of the book, telling her it's her dad's, and also that there are "bad people". He keeps saying that as they lock him up again (oh please let him live... I feel like those bad people are going to kill him >.<). XC tries to throw the book away (No!) but CY keeps it.
XY has arrived at the prison to bring CY home. CY is happy to see him but wonders why he's upset. Preview scene in the palanquin where she gets him to smile. CY mentions that NX got hurt because of her, and mentions her wolf bite. XY shows knowledge of that (though CY doesn't see). CY starts looking at the book - there are drawings of poses - like a kungfu manual. CY starts poking XY here and there and he tries hard to avoid her touching him (HAHA), telling her to experiment herself. She leans on him and reads, and something strange seem to happen as those figures in the book seem to move and she falls asleep.There's some dialogue at the back so I'm cutting it into two parts.

I'm confused as to why Ep 27-28 are released already? That's an extra two episodes, no? Not that I'm complaining of course... But I don't think I'll be able to recap that many episodes in a day - I will do my best to recap Ep 25-26 but @SC2019 has already written about EP 27-28 so that should tide you guys over haha. I still have to cook and eat dinner so it might be a few hours before they'll be up.
@xiaoxf Yes in an earlier comment, I did write that the words 'star' and 'moon' appear in XC and CY's names. For Xing Chen - "Xing" is the word for star, and additionally, "Chen" is morning. "Yue" is the word for moon. "Chu" can be first, early, beginning. I wouldn't say "Yao" means day - but it definitely means either bright (like shining), or glory. I think his name is very fitting/ makes sense for a son born in a general's house.
I never really knew the meaning of the word "Mu" so I looked it up. One of the meanings is as you said, "dusk" but another one I found interesting was "late". So in the sense like it's late - the day is late. Which if interpreted in the story, could be describing how XM never let CY know of his feelings, even unto his death - late. I don't know, that's just me reading into it.

I'm at work so I can't translate but I guess it's a good thing that everything will be revealed. Then they can overcome it all and we'll know that it means they'll be together after XY works it all out (instead of back together-split back and forth).
@suzy0604 Haha I agree with you.
I don't know why he had to go in again after he saved me. I guess it means in a sense, he really did die for the King and the royal family. Although the fire was still caused by CY so *hands in the air* IDK.
As for TY, yup in earlier spoilers we already said that she was in love with XM, but it was one-sided because XM was in love with CY. But because CY's life was gained in exchange for XM's life, TY is resolved to protect CY at all costs.

It's silly to call the coming additional scenes "epilogues" when the ending wasn't there grrrr.
BUT is it strange that I thought they were still really erm... gentle? I wished they would have been more passionate given where their relationship was at - the cave scene kiss was really passionate - and I'm not saying that it should be that intense or aggressive, but nearer to that intensity would have been nice... but I'm nitpicking.

) CY asks NN to leave because she doesn't want her getting hurt for her sake. NN reluctantly goes. NX tells CY to help comb her hair and choose her earrings. CY walks over and combs her hair, remarking that NX's headdress looks good on her. NX says that the principle "Legitimacy belongs to the victor" (the literal Chinese idiom is the winner becomes the king, the loser becomes the outlaw) applies everywhere. She says that they have the same tastes in men and in headdress; if CY remains so obedient, they could become friends (pfft. As if she understands the meaning of the word 'friend'.) CY takes her hand away.
Particularly if XY was planning on marrying her again...
XY wipes his tears, and resolutely pushes her away strongly that she topples to the ground. "Xu Chu Yue, we need to take a break. Ling Xi Court - I'm not going." He gets up and stumbles away, "I'm not going!" He falls in the distance. CY watches him and cries helplessly.
XY had the right measure of her! And based on what 
Actually I did see a scene (not sure which preview/ song trailer maybe) where CY was in jail, so this is not a surprise to me - according to the scenes I saw, XC appears to save her at some point - and she seems to say to him (could be misleading with the way previews are cut), "Why do you still not understand me? I don't need you to sacrifice yourself for me."

Oh, I forgot- @SC2019 you asked about the 彩蛋 (Colourful Egg). The literal translation doesn't make sense of course haha... but actually it's like Easter eggs - and I mean the way it's used in the context of movies. But the Chinese meaning also doesn't quite mean Easter eggs in the English sense... from what I've seen, they use this term to refer to anything extra - so like BTS, cut scenes, alternative scenes. Actually on the YT previews, they also called this 番外 so it's like a spin-off, so it could also mean the coming scenes are separate to the "finished" story. GAH. I don't know which they mean but we shall see.
Episode 34 Recap (Part 2):
XY and CY are lying in bed - CY holding XY's hand that is under her head. He turns her around. Then it's the preview scene where he tries to return the ankle bracelet to her. She doesn't take it - saying, "I used to think that love was being imprisoned, being all-in, not giving up even unto death. But now I think... as long as there is yearning between (us/ the two - there is no subject in Chinese), (we) can be together a lifetime too." (ACK. She is foreshadowing.) XY says that they will definitely be together a lifetime. CY takes the anklet and puts it into his clothes, saying that the prison will remain with him for now. "If someday I wished to escape, I will ask for it." XY says that she will never escape then. He gives her a kiss on her forehead and holds her close as they sleep.
The next morning, XC is pacing, wondering where CY is. Uncle Liao told him that CY has used her last chance. XC receives XY's message that CY is with him, and heads to the barracks.
Mr Bai tells XY that he checked out the location CY mentioned but found nothing there. XY has a hunch that she's trying to stop him from returning to the capital - the previous night, he realised that CY was crying in his arms, and when he asked, she just told him to keep holding her close. He says that he hopes she didn't dream.
XC arrives and is at first angry with XY. XY says he knows what CY is doing, and he will not let her die for him - he has decided that he will go where he needs to go and make her dream come true (so that it is not changed). CY comes out, "I don't want you to go!" This is the spoiler scene where XY carries her like a sack over his shoulders back into the room. He ties her up to the bed, saying that everyone has their own fate; "If only one of us can live, I'd rather it be you."
But CY is adamant as he tries to walk out, "Xue Yao! If you dare leave me here, when you come back, you will find a corpse." That provokes XY, and he comes back, grabbing her, "Don't you dare..."
XC comes in and tells both of them to calm down. He tells CY to think of the location in her dream. CY says that it will happen in the secret chamber, but she doesn't know the exact location. Uncle Liao says that he knows where the passageway is; he used it when he tried to escape with CY when she was a baby (LOL that was easy - why didn't they ask him before?). Anyway, XY delegates like a General, sending them each to a different part - XC will lead his men from the medicine factory in the palace to destroy the vessel containing the poison gas; Mr Bai will go from the mountain and find the body (of FX, I think) and destroy that, and XY and LJ will capture DS and ask for the cure.
Mr Bai and LJ leave to get ready, and as XY turns, CY repeats her threat that she will kill herself if he dares leave her behind. Then it's the line from the preview where she says she just wants to be with him. XC just looks on at the extent of what CY is willing to do because of XY. Outside, NN arrives to join in. She tells LJ that she wants to protect her man just like CY is protecting hers.
There's a scene with NX that I don't care about... (seriously, her arc should be finished already. Doesn't add anything to the story at this point). She thinks about what NW did for her. They get a letter saying that the mine has been destroyed, but her brother is safe, although his jade ring was stolen. NX realises that XY lied to her and goes off in a huff.
XY and his men find the passageway in the mountains and XC heads in to the palace. XC tells Mr Qin to evacuate the palace. Meanwhile, XY and everyone has arrived in the chamber - CY recognises the place from her dreams. She stands in front of XY, saying "I'll protect you." (Really? How? LOL). XY is somewhat amused (given the seriousness of the situation), but he just holds her hand. Uncle Liao finds the key that unlocks the secret passage from the palace end.
XY and everyone on his side walk carefully into the chamber. Then they see the pedestal where FX's body is lying. XY walks forward, trying to get a better look. Then needles and weapons starts flying out and attacking them - the fight begins as a group of death assassins land. XY holds out his hand to protect CY as she retreats to a corner. In the course of fighting, XY heads forward and CY is by herself - DS swoops in at the opening. XY reacts in time and fends DS off, but DS manages to throw a dagger at his chest, knocking XY down. CY holds him, apologising, "I'm sorry! I meant to help. I'm sorry." XY asks if this was the fate she tried to prevent. She apologises again and DS approaches.
CY stands up and grabs a sword to her neck, "Stop! Or I'll kill myself." XY grabs her dress weakly. DS stops but doesn't think she will - "If you kill yourself, how would you live up to XM's sacrifice? Before he died, he was begging me to let you go." CY and XY are shocked.
A flashback reveals the true events of XM's death - XM had found the group of death assassins trying to capture CY while she was unconscious as a dragon. He tried fighting them off- in the process, CY fell to the floor; the candles got knocked over and the fire started. He took CY out - then went back in. The assassins had left, but then DS appeared and they fought - DS stuck his sword into XM's chest. XM stumbled against the altar, knocking down those plaques. As he fell to the ground, his book and letter to CY fell out. XM had been suspicious of DS because he grits out, "It was you indeed." DS picks up the book and letter, realising, " So you are Guan Shan." He sticks his sword into XM again and twists it (URGH). XM breathes his last as DS says, "Since you can't be husband and wife with Princess CY in this life, then die as a loyal soul protecting the royal family."
XY tries to rise in his anger, but spits out blood instead. He falls unconscious and CY drops her sword to hold him. The rest of the crew surround DS, pointing their swords at him. CY shakes XY as she cries, "Xue Yao! Xue Yao!" (scene in preview/ songs) - End of Episode.
Way over bed time so see you guys tomorrow ....
