  1. @lilsakus yeah I remember some people including me discussed about the possibility questions & answers and all of them are romantically involved :w00t:

Actually When I read some pages on the beginning of this thread, there's an interview with Ju Ji hun article. On the article, He said that the romantic story will be like something on Signal.

  2. Woww...from the preview, The police becomes another culprit:o Is He the main culprit or Kim Sol's partner in crime? I choose the latter.

I feel that the logic behind the bus accident is too weak & forced by the writer. When the flood accident happened, the suspect should logically think that the initial people who rode the bus might change. Moreover, The bus passed the culprit, so He surely saw inside there were only couple of grannies. He  still had enough time to stop the Bus.

When HJ saw the police graduation photo, I felt weird  about why the writer needed to include such a trivial story.  I was suspicious at first but The police asked the daily log on the flood accident day. Why should He tell HJ about the possibility  bus accident happened because of sabotage?

Since YiGang becomes the next target, She surely will have a chance to see Hyun Joo. Although HJ can only touch natural things on the mountain, I can imagine He uses stones or any tree branches to hit the culprit. That will be awesome.

Seems that tomorrow We will see the scene where YG talks to HJ through the walkie talkie.

anyway, I feel bad to Hyun Joo that Yi Gang blamed him for the death of her GrandMa. He even voluntary moved to Bildam shelter so YiGang didn't need to see him at work. Their relationship became sour  :tears:

Nah..now I am curious what kind of answer Yi Gang wants to say to Hyun Joo since they were not in a good relationship before the incident.

About Yang Sun...OMG....All of us thought it was because of the culprit but it turned out because of that stupid lottery girl. She should have died instead. She really pissed me off  Can you imagine if those rangers know that She was there because of the lottery ticket..

Am I the only one who still suspect the injured hiker from previous episode? He was the only outsider who was at the rescue camp when Yi Gang's grandma and the crew arriving? And as in the next preview, the policeman is indeed looking suspicious. Yet he asked for the daily log of the flood incident today. :sweatingbullets:

In my opinion, the injured hiker character is inserted by the writer just to relay the message to Yi Gang that her parent didn't do suicide like what She was afraid about.

  3. @liddi I just re-read your post  above and realized Sgt.Kim's father is a proper Ranger.

Isn't the driver too young to be Jang Hak Su?

About the cable car project, in my opinion, ex-chief Kim & Capt. Jo didn't have enough power yet at that time to object.

Anyway..the production team have deceived us twice so far about the preview which actually not included yet on the actual episodes. First when Yi Gang shouted Hyun Joo name through walkie talkie and second, when Hyun Joo opened his eyes. Such a dirty trick :sweatingbullets:

Just based solely on instinct unbacked by any actual evidence, my latest suspect is the driver who helped SYG's grandmother bring food to the rangers at the makeshift office, simply because we are given some unexpectedly lingering shots of him. Am I overthinking it? Probably :sweatingbullets:

I was like: Why did they need to film this extra cast's  back that long? :sweatingbullets:

Too many names all of you mentioned in the discussion ...I don't know who is who anymore

This is just my theory, I think the volunteer rangers involved in black valley village case. Probably they were in charge for throwing the dead pig into the well and playing with the flashlight to scare the residents. Although Kim Sol's Father was the village head, I don't think He discussed the decision to accept or not accept the cable car project with the rest. It's just his own will. I bet some of the resident wanted to move because they would get money for the replacement. So these volunteer rangers (which some of them are also the black valley resident) made a plan on their will or (might be ordered by the investor) to scare the resident.

About the kidnapping of Kim Sol's mother, this one may be a pure criminality or these volunteer rangers also involved but they actually didn't have intention to kill her. Thing just went out of their calculation. I tend to go with the first option though. The writer can just introduces any new cast later as the killer.(or maybe it's the bus driver? lol)

Kim Sol probably think that these volunteer rangers are the one who killed his mother and in the end made his father suicided so He took revenge to them.

Hyun Joo's friend was killed because his father has passed away so He becomes the target instead.

Just as what discussed before, Geum Rye Grandma & ....?  were killed because they are considered neglected his father and move with other residents.

Yang Geun Tak is killed because He is the idea maker of the cable car development.

Now the remaining unresolved reason is LYS. Maybe as what @liddi said that one of the unidentified people on the photo is LYS's father.

Anyway, about the woman saved in the cave, Did the killer bring her to the cave? Is there any possibility She is the killer in 1991? maybe it's all about one side romance toward Kim Sol's father ? Something like if your wife is dead I probably can have you. I know I am going too far :sweatingbullets:

That lottery girl LOL...no wonder She keeps on popping out on the screen unnecessary. I remember someone here even suspected her. It turned out She contribute for LYS story.

This is unnecessary but the last episode is hard to watch because it's too dark  (mostly filmed at the night).

  5. About Yang Sun became the target, Anybody remember why does She live with her GrandPa? I have a theory her Mother probably involved with the cable development. Looking from her appearance, She looks like She is not average ajjumma who working as a house wife. She seems to not live at the village, maybe that's why Yang Sun became the target instead.

I suddenly come to think about the reason that one  herb collector can hear Hyun Joo's voice. On the accident day (or maybe after accident), When Hyun Joo was not realized He became a spirit, He tried to speak to GY and il Hae but they couldn't hear him. Dawon also said to Yi Gang that Hyun Joo looked desperate wanted to talk to Yi Gang but it's unclear whether She heard his voice or She just took conclusion based on Hyun Joo's body language.

Somehow this episode reminds me of our own local stories searching for lost people in the forest -  some  people were "hidden" from our naked eyes and sometimes might be found a few days later.

I think for this case, it's not because of mystic. The killer hid the woman and released her near the tree several days later.

    2 hours ago, liddi said:

@YongZura⁷  I am curious about the identity of the gloved man in 1991. Was it YGT? Yet it seems a little convenient that he was so easily disposed off by 2020. Assuming, Kim Sol's father was murdered rather than committed suicide due to being the last person standing between the cable car plans, was it possible that little Kim Sol caught sight of his father's killer at the time? If so, is our present day killer now hunting down the killer from 1991 as well?

If YGT is the killer in 1991, what is the reason the development of the cable car was canceled? The assassination of the woman becomes useless at this point.

The ones in SeoWook's notebook are probably former residents of their village so he's hunting them down for abandoning the village. What I cant connect though is why Yang Sun was also in the list. Maybe she knew something about Kim Sol.

Anyone know the names on the list? I only remember

    1. Lee geum rye. This grandma used to live on black bridge valley.

    2. Yang Geun tak. He wanted to build cable car.

    3. Snake poacher /potato bomb. What is the connection?

    4.

    5.

Hyun Joo's Subordinate is also the victim but it's not include on the notebook list, cmiiw

  8. None of the suspects on my list are correct

@paolaadl the scene was aired on the last ep of 6 as a preview for ep 7 but it's not shown either on ep 7 or 8.

    Other stuff:

    1. Looks like Il Hae retired as a ranger and instead is doing desk job (his knee must have worsened). I hope he really is still alive in 2021.

Seems that He will show up on present time next week. His hair style on preview is different.

    Left questions:

    1. who is the killer in 1991?

    2. On the preview, Hyun Joo said: "Why are they together?" probably indicating Kim Sol with someone else.

Since Kim Sol mentioned that there were no bear at that time(1991), I think the blue ghosts are really spirits.  what do you all think? The blue ghosts seemed to lure Yi Gang & Hyun Joo to find the woman inside the cave so probably the nice ones.

Capt. Jo on the other hand appears to be on the verge of quitting in order to mend bridges with his daughter. Yet he is still there a year later. So what happened in between? Despite his dour appearance, the ex-chief now-guide is a revelation, clearly passionate about the mountain, as well as a good friend and mentor. We now know that the now-deceased YGT was planning to set up cable cars on the mountain, much to the objections of the ex-chief. Could this be the real reason YGT was killed? Similarly, we are introduced to the infamous Black Valley village, which would also be the location that SYG and KHJ were attacked and left barely alive 7 months down the road. What secrets are hidden there?

Now I am suspicious with 3 persons:

    1. The ex-chief.

@liddi good that u mentioned about YGT is one of the victim on the present time. I totally missed this. The ex-chief has motive to protect the mountain. However I lean more toward the other 2 suspects.

    2. Joo Dae Jin's daughter.

In the present, Captain Jo seems to know something about the murders but He looks like someone who wants to protect something. As what @liddi said,  Capt Jo's reaction upon being apprehended as a suspect is inexplicable, making no defense for himself.

It's not mentioned when the daughter came back to the village. The suspect that searched Hyun Joo's desk has short appearance so a girl will fit this.

    3. Goo Young

The fact that He came back from the trail when Yi Kang was waiting for Da Won is suspicious. Inside the office room when He ordered the rangers to search for Da won, I saw that He didn't look worry at all, more toward wanted to hide the smile. Is this just my feeling? :sweatingbullets:    When the police said that Da Won recorded some conversation, there's a worry look on his face. Furthermore, after it's revealed that Da Won is dead, In the office, instead of being on sad moment, He blamed Yi Kang for coming back to Jirisan.

When He went to hike with Yang Sun, why did He behave strangely when Yang Sun mentioned that Her mother wanted to meet him?

  10. @liddi @Li22.55 so They plan to make a trail for elderly & disabled person. I really missed this part. I didn't pay attention to the meeting content.
anyway...On one of the episodes in the beginning, I remember that someone asked Yi Gang about the physiotherapy.
It must means that She still has a chance to walk again (?). I would like to see her at least using the crutch to indicate She is on the progress at the end of the drama.

  11. @liddi thanks for the correction about  the uniform & information about the translation on ep 7. Anyway... I somehow still think it's the Chief based on his body appearance and the way He walked hahaha. Let's see this week :D .

I am thinking about Hyun Joo must not know that He is actually still alive but  on comma state. He also doesn't know that Yi Gang is on wheelchair now. Imagine how frustrated He is thinking Yi Gang doesn't even once visit the mountain.

I wish Da Won will tell him that He is comma state in the future. She should have not been  scared with him anymore after knowing He is not a 'real ghost' but I doubt She still has the nerve to go back to the forest alone before the culprit has been caught.

At the end of Episode 8 when DW told the ome in the ranger jacket "you scared me what are you doing here?" I think that was too informal. If she was talking with the chief I would imagine she wouldnt have said it that casually. Could it be GY? Maybe since she's her partner she's going to be comfortable with him but he's still her sunbae so I would imagine she would still use some honorifics. I can't remember if DW has had interactions with KS in the drama or if she actually knew him.

Yup..sounds informal (seems to be purposely done) but She still use honorific so I think in the next preview there will be a continuation sentence where She addresses him as "Chief". I am certain the blue jacket guy is the chief because He wore the same jacket before.

    spacer.png

but He is not the culprit. It's obvious He was there to collect the evidence and as you guys already mentioned the culprit wore different jacket. The yakult was so dirty so He picked it up somewhere. The ziplock bag is same like the ziplock bag with ribbon inside inside his drawer. I bet Yi Gang will suspect him on Da Won case judging by the next preview where It's said that the chief still cannot be contacted.

Anyway, I just realized that The chief actually the one doing CPR to Hyun Joo on the snow accident and got him back into life. Logically...If He is one of the culprits, He could just pretend doing the CPR. Why He would want him to be alive.

Loving this scene too hahahha but I prefer the rough translation because it's sweeter. Hyun Joo actually said: "Except when sleeping or going to the toilet, I will glue to you like a chewing gum..."

    spacer.png

At the end of ep 6, We got preview for ep 7 where Yi Kang Shout  Hyun Joo name through the walkie talkie. Strangely, neither ep 7 nor 8 the scene is included.

Based on next preview, I heard (Goo Young ?) said something about " You shouldn't have come back". I do not know why this guy is so not welcome toward Yi Gang. As some of you already mentioned that He looks miserable on one of the trailer, probably something happened to Yang Sun but it's not on snow accident. I wonder what happened that lead him to be cold toward Yi Kang in the present.

  13. @liddi Actually the C-sub is correct. KHJ said: 선배니까 말씀드리는거에요 ( Because It's you, I told you this or

Because you're a Senior that's why I told you this).

I am not really sure about the conversation inside the cave because I miss 1 word but He said something about {searching?) for the handphone and will come back to the cave soon so please wait a little bit more.

  14. As usual, 1 hour passed in a flash...Looking forward for tonight episode

Happy boy smiling after heard Yi Kang would take care of him. Because of this scene, I am more sure He indeed has a feeling for her.

    spacer.png

But I don't understand  Giana Jun's interpretation of Yi Kang reaction here. Does She supposed to be awkward or

She realized Hyun Joo has a feeling for her so like @liddi said She is building a crusty exterior around her or

She worried that Somebody else heard the conversation?? I don't know...

    spacer.png

Now..Talking about the suspects..seems there are more than 1 person so they are a team. The suspect who grabbed the yakult on convenience store where Yi Gang & Hyun Joo were eating must be a stranger  because there's no way they will not say hi if it's the otherwise.

The suspect who tried to find something on Hyun Joo desk at the night has access to the office. From the body appearance, He/She is short..probably has the same height as the Jo Dae Jin chief. Definitely not Kim Sol because this guy is almost as tall as Hyun Joo.

It doesn't mean I exclude Kim sol from the list though. This guy is interested with historical heritage in the forest and He probably think that the illegal hikers make a 'mess' in the forest by stealing the  valuably items & damaging the heritage relic in the process  of finding  so He has enough motives to kill.

  16. Ugh...I am so frustrating with this week episodes...

Expecting lovey dovey scenes because I am tired with  Mawang....mawang..mawang :dead:

but instead We got 2 poor people dying unnecessary...

Poor CG's father wo barely regained his consciousness on his last 19 years life.

Poor Moo Young who scarified his life.

Ha Ram and Chun Gi wanted to protect each other but They just made things messier and sacrificed  other people. At this point, their love become meaningless.

I am still watching Ep 14, but I was angry at Cheon Gi who tells almost everyone every thing. She told her two friends about what's happening. It's a good thing that they remained close lipped about why she needs to paint the late king's portrait. But for goodness' sake, she knew the evil shaman works for Prince Yuhyang, yet she tells her that Ha Ram will be protected because he has the ring - the ring that she was told by Ha Ram seems to have divine powers, which Prince Yuhyang was looking for? Well, anyway, I guess her she's got a one-track mind and was not taught to hold her tongue when necessary. Her strongest feature is her ability to draw, but she lacked basic education, so she's slightly crass. She doesn't always follow instructions, causes disaster and got reprieve by saying she's sorry, although she never learn.

I am agree with @reddragon. ChunGi is so annoying. I can't not even count how many times YangMyung advised her to not meet HaRam first when completing the portrait for her own sake or not come to the ritual ceremony but as always.. She would not listen. She rushed to the jail at any cost & got her and his besties imprisoned.  She rushed to the ceremony and almost killed. When She got news about her father, She rushed by her self to the market and getting into the trap. At the end of ep 14, here She goes again...even though Haram already calmed her and promised to go save those baekyu painters.

One thing annoys me..what's actually one thing they missed to seal Mawang? Based on conversation between Samshin and Ho Ryeong on the roof, it's just a wrong day to hold the ceremony but on preview ep 15, Hwacha comes to offer a deal to  Chun Gi . Does dealing with Hwacha is really the secret? If it's the case, I think Sam shin will be just too cruel. How can She protects both of them all these times just to make CG becomes crazy as the end game.

CMIIW...The old man in the jail turns out to be the deity of balance. He said to Haram that the ring is made from what's left from the deity of balance and on ep 14, We saw his soul came out from the ring to cure the King.

Anyway...Ho Ryeong seems to not be able  to hold herself to not save our couple

I don't know why Sam Shin was startled when HoRyeong saved the couple. I mean all this time, they have already saved them from time to time. this is a bit inconsistent.

Dang...it turns out that HaRam is indeed the one who killed his father when possessed. How guilty He will feel when He realized this later.  All this 19 years revenge towards the current King and family seems meaningless.

And if by chance, HR will have to end blind, I think that is much better than having him dead. After all, he's already used to not having his eyes - and CG will just be his eyes. He knows how to read stars and she's his star and so I think it'll be a bittersweet type of ending. But of course, it will be better if they would really have such a "happy ending".

I remember a scene after the painting competition, Haram sat together with CG and said something  about if He regained his vision, CG's painting was the first thing He wanted to see. So yeah..it's kind of sad if He doesn't have chance to do it.

Agree with u. I think I saw several times that some of the dialogs said  "based of rumor, Hwacha will blablabla...".

Her father actually goes crazy because He looked directly to Mawang eyes on ep 1, right?!

I thought Chun Gi would need to draw Haram's portrait but based on preview ep 13, The ritual is hold? so the King portrait should have had divine power, otherwise they will not do it . Hmmm...

Do you all remember the teaser where Haram has different appearance with his hair down. I thought it will be for future episodes but now thinking about it, it's a teaser from December 2020 before Joseon exorcist scandal. I think it's erased because SBS is scared it will make a scandal again since Haram's costume doesn't fit with joseon dynasty ( I know the production team have changed the dynasty to an imaginary dynasty but all the costumes they wear here are obvious from joseon dynasty)

love this too, I kept replaying this scene hahhahah but I have a feeling that since the writer already made him be able to see CG at least once, the writer will go to the route like the novel. (Someone who read the novel said Haram will sacrifice his eyes for chun gi and remain being blind

Anyway, long time ago, the owner of the peach tree farm posted a picture on his IG. The picture was taken from a far  so it's not clear but there is Haram on the peach tree farm wearing light blue clothes(same as in the poster)  with the horse. There is also stunt actress for chun gi but She wore the purple clothes that CG wore when She was still working on the painting institute. 19. I am surprised that SBS shared the BTS of kiss scene with quite long duration . Thank SBS!!

I really love the scene when Haram & CG riding the house through the forest. The illumination is so beautiful, giving fairy tale impression.  I also like how the PD made the casts do not talk the dialog  directly but using narration.

Let's see how far Ha Ram can endure to keep on pushing away Chun Gi especially when YangMyeong Prince is in flirting mode !

One more week to go! Fighting everyone :happy2:

  20. Since HaRam can't see, I guess He just randomly gave blue/red mark on the competition :sweatingbullets:. He has his subordinate explain things but it doesn't make sense to describe painting precisely.

From today episode, The man who killed Haram's father sent a letter to the King so He is actually just a spy who pretends to support the 2nd Prince, right? Does it mean the current King is not as kind as I think? I am confuse..

@ferily At the first time, when they accidentally touched each other inside the palanquin, the butterfly disappeared but when Ha Ram saved CG from falling (when CG and Prince YangMyeong had bickering), The butterfly appeared. One happened at night & one happened at day time.  If I am not wrong, the location it takes place when they touch each other will also affect it. I think this is mentioned before by Sham sin (when She had conversation with the deity of tiger ?)

Okay question about the former king who had Ma Wang inside of him…Did he die from that ritual of expelling Ma Want into the painting? I ask this because I’m pretty sure something similar like this will happen with Hong Cheon Gi and Ha Ram so I’m wondering if it’s possible that something will happen to Ha Ram..

the former King was alive. I'm more worry about the prolog in ep 1 and Sam Shin's narration. The prolog said something about the Girl lost her lover so She made a painting to seal the Evil and after that She disappeared. 'Lost her lover" here is probably is a phrase because if the lover is already dead, Ma Wang will need another body and the portrait needed to be drawn will be not HaRam anymore.

Sam Shin said :"everything will fall back into it's place" so I think HaRam will gain back his sight and Cheon Gi looses hers which makes her cannot be a painter anymore. Maybe the term "disappeared' for the narration, Haram & CG will run away, pretend to be dead and live happily together? :sweatingbullets:

But I'm confused by him cause one minute he's like to painter han that you have to fail her and then the next he's asking the prince why he's failing her!!

Badass female lead love it!! Can't wait for episode 6!! And the kisss will deffo be the end of episode 6 won't it!!

Plus I heard the following week could be cancelled cause of chuseok so damn it will be such a loooonnngggggg wait for episode7 and 8

THis!!! I also notice how inconsistent He is. Probably because the 3rd prince kind  ruined CG's pride ?

Oh..the chuseok is on Tuesday  but the public holiday starts on Monday. Da*n!! If We are lucky, We might get at least 1 episode on Monday.
