  1. I've watched many e-sport dramas and by far this is one of the best drama (as per current airing episode)

I just love the ZGDX team members, they are funny during normal times but will be a super focus mode during competition

And Sicheng is such a teasing tsundere guy

It's damn obvious he likes TY and he keeps on giving hints to everyone but nobody seems to take those hints seriously

I also checked out the romance part and the ending (which there were multiple of). None of the endings actually match the original novel's ending (apparently due to some pretty strict broadcasting rules).

Will be interesting to see if the Korean version will go for the novel's ending or come up with its own ending. In my opinion, the novel ending seems like the best option.

Now you make me curious to see how actually the original author wrote the novel ending... May I know, where did you read the full novel? Is there any translated version of the novel that I can access to?

Anyway, since I've already watch the second episode, my question about what is the original So-Yong personality has been answered. Her character may look like your typical villainess character in other drama, but I guess she still have her vulnerable side. Like one of the soompier here said, that original So-Yong might probably really fallen in love with the King, but I don't think the King reciprocate her feeling..

And that Royal Concubine Eui (still don't remember her name tho :vicx:) Man, she confused the hell out of me, I mean is she actually nice or she is actually just pretends to? Because she acts like she was all uncomfortable with the talisman and nonsense the Queen Dowager said, then she acts kinda haughty when she was with So-Yong, later acts all sweet with the King

I am down to see this happen! It would be interesting to see Bo Hwang and So Yong's interactions while sharing the same body I am sure it will be hilarious and SHS can totally pull it off!

In The Eternal Love, when both original host and the FL share the body, their souls take turns using the body. Like once the original host go to sleep/faints/unconscious, the FL leads soul took over the body. If this happen, the only way for them to communicate is only by writing letters to each other  (just imagine how Hyun Bin act as Robin and Goo Seo Jin in Hyde, Jekyll and Me, it will be somewhat like this...)

I can imagine how Shin Hye Sun act if the original So Yong is a soft-spoken, well-mannered kind of person (probably a combination of her character in Oh My Ghost & My Golden Life)

I wonder if the show will ever revive the real So-Yong's "soul" at some point, but Bong-Hwan in Queen's body is so much fun :joy:

It will be crazy if the writer choose to make both original So-Yong soul and Bong-Hwan soul share the same body like what happen in The Eternal Love S1 (C-drama). The people at the palace might think that the Queen has gone totally crazy if this happen :D

Anyway, I read that this drama is actually inspired by a Chinese novel,  (also adapted in drama as Go Princess Go). But the drama has few alternate endings tho...

I saw Go Princess Go poster, and man, the emperor's face there seriously reminded me of our king here in Mr. Queen :o

  5. Man, it's been a while since a kdrama makes me laugh out loud like this during its premier (a plus also because it makes me crawl out from my cave  and dropping out a comment here)

    Hisashiburi everybody!

Shin Hye Sun is awesome as always. Looking forward to see how the writer develop the plot. Hopefully if there is any romance in it, they could deliver it in a good way.

For now, am going to enjoy the ride (hopefully could stick until the end, which I rarely do these days )

  6. Guys, have you ever wonder what actually happen to the characters in Trumpet Creeper after the comic ended? I mean, did the world just vanished or life just go on like usual and the oblivious character just continue living their life using the pre-set characteristic and background that the author has created in the comic.

Let say the comic world did not vanished after the comic ended and all character will continue living, however now since the author has leave those character own their own (because the author did not continue the story), does that mean the characters can do now whatever they please? If that's the case, Do Hwa and Baek Kyung can still have their own happy ending...

    What might happen is..

    Spoiler

You know like how often we wonder what actually happen to drama characters after the last episode that were aired? I mean, what if after the drama end the character choose to life their life differently from ending that the writer wrote.

For example, in Boys Over Flower, what if, I mean, what if, after the story end Ji Ho has a one on one face off with Jun Pyo and said that he is objecting the marriage for real and want them to compete for Jan Di affection fair and square this time. I mean, Jan Di didn't even said yes to Jun Pyo's proposal, so there is 50-50% chance that she actually might refuse his proposal. Her refusal might be because she wanted to focus on her studies and career for now. And since Ji Ho and Jun Pyo is now competing fairly to gain Jan Di affection, who knows what the end result will be. However, we may never know what actually happen after the drama ended...

Anyways, back to my point about how Do Hwa and Baek Kyung can actually get their happy ending in the drama.

Some people say that Ju Da might actually gained awareness and actually reciprocated Do Hwa feelings in shadow, but since the author wanted her to be with Nam Jo, so she cannot do anything about it. However, since the comic world did not vanished after the writer ended the story, Ju Da might end up living the way she wanted after the comic ended.

Let say the Secret manhwa ended with Nam Joo proposal scene and Ju Da accepted to marry him, once the final stage has ended, suddenly Ju Da said that she need to retrack her words. Something like this

JD: I'm sorry but I don't think I could marry you and accompany you to America (yes, yes I know this is so cliche )

NJ: But why? I love you and I thought that you also love me too?

JD: Sorry if I had lead you on all these while and made you think that I actually have feelings for you. For all the good things that you had done to me, thank you. You made my school days bearable. And, thank you for being my knight in shining armor eventhough it was just a scenario that the writer draw.

NJ: Draw? What do you mean?

JD: Never mind about that. Anyway, I hope you'll find a woman that truly love you and be happy with her. I truly wish that. Oh Nam Joo, thank you and goodbye.

Then Jo Da went to search for Do Hwa and tell him what she truly feels and off they go creating new beginning for their story.

Meanwhile for Baek Kyung, after Dan Oh 'death' in Secret, he decided to turn a new leaf. Now he want to live a better life for Dan Oh's sake and he did not want to take life for granted because he know death can come to him anytime. After the comic end, he slowly try to change his problematic attitude, learn how to control his temper and leashing it at appropriate place. He might end up being an athlete (UFC or Judo or probably Tennis) and end up falling for someone else that he know through his journey of rediscovering his purpose in life.

I think that is the best way, the writer could end Baek Kyung story.

I mean, it doesn't mean he MUST be together with Dan Oh to have a happy ending right? As long as he got a better and happy life, I think I'm happy if he ended up like that...

I think this song can really speaks out about Dan Oh frustration about the writer and how the writer wrote her story

  7. Since the writer is lack of creativity (wth with recycling conversation from his/her other work), I think Ju Da and Nam Joo will end up like those typical shojou manga ending, where both male and female lead will be together after facing through all obstacle and challenges together..

My take on how the ending of the drama will be...

    Spoiler

    - Dan Oh character might be 'killed' by the author despite of Haru and Baek Kyung attempt to save her from dying.

    - But don't worry, Haru and Dan Oh will still be together, since they will meet, AGAIN, in another manhwa. Like how Ji Mi Chae and Haru end up appearing in Secret manhwa, it is not impossible for both Haru and Dan Oh to appear in another manhwa (or probably they just end up transporting there via the blackhole)

Like, Dan Oh after dying her soul end up being transported to the other manhwa, while Haru accidentally went to the other manhwa via the blackhole (he might be super sad after Dan Oh passing and somehow one day the blackhole appear infront of him and he just walk into it, I mean he felt like he has nothing to lose now, so why not go through that weird thing)

Probably this time, they'll be a super super super insignificant character in this manhwa (you know those nameless or sometimes faceless character in comic where the writer draw just because they want to fill in the background of the frame in the comic) And since they are super insignificant their action will not be restricted by the author and they will have their own free will. So, they could live happily ever after in the comic world :)

    - It will be interesting if the manhwa is actually a follow up josei manhwa about SaeMi's life after graduating high school. She has accepted that she is not fated with Nam Joo, but ended up being poor since her family has gone bankrupt (you know like those typical makjang drama plot, where share partner betraying one another, etc). And since she is now poor, she need to live like a normal citizen, like struggling to save money, go to work, do house chores without any maid helping, etc

The male lead? Hurm it can be her colleague (her team leader/manager/department head) who is actually the son of her family chauffeur. The guy initially dislike her because her snobbish attitude in the past, but end up having a change of heart since he saw her different side.

GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH. And now I'm writing those cliche storyline that has been used numerously by many drama writer. LOL :D

Anyway, I'm looking forward to see what writernim will do in the remaining 6-ep

Did I miss something? Was is said that the female lead from Flower is a time traveler? Was she even the lead?

I did put my thought in the spoiler since the thing that I mentioned is actually the ending in the webtoon. Since the drama doesn't really follow the webtoon, so must take everything with grain of salt.

For those who are curious about the webtoon ending (someone did a summary at tumblr and share it)

  9. Instead of Rooftop Prince, I think the writer might use Scarlet Heart/Moon Lovers as the reference for the drama.

The reason why I think SH/ML is the reference that being used:

    - the drama is in Goryeo era

    - the female lead is time traveling

    Spoiler

doesn't in the webtoon ending, the writer mentioned that Dan Oh character will have a follow up story, where she will be time traveling to ancient time

    - have drowning scene (well the female lead end up time traveling when she is drowning)

Anyway, I have to see more of the Flower/Trumpet Creeper scene to decide which periodical drama that they use :)

  10. OMG, the latest episode is sooo good. Anyway, too bad for Baek Kyung now, since Haru is back, his chance to capture Dan Oh's heart (in shadow) is getting slimmer..

That last scene where Haru hug Dan Oh, oihhhh the feels~~~ For me, Lim Hyunsik's Rendezvous really describe Haru+Dan Oh's situation in ep 8. The song I put in spoiler :)

  11. Hi everyone! Been watching the first two episodes and so far, I'm enjoying it. Like some fellow soompier mentioned earlier in this thread, I agree that MK's 'human allergy' is rather psychological and not like normal allergy type that people used to get...

Anyway, JA's oppa is getting on my nerve, I mean, why he must said those harsh words toward his little sister. I actually worried that he will end up choosing the CEO aka MK frenemy's side (still don't remember the name tho..) and this will complicate things more when he realize that JA is actually his assistant sister.

Since I actually watch all three dramas in W-TH slot, below in the spoiler are my personal review. Read at your own risk, because it contained spoilers.

    Spoiler

    1. Black Knight - The drama set off rather nicely. It has fantasy elements and the scene where they shoot at Slovenia seriously pretty. But after watching the first two episodes, I can't help but to get a Goblin-ish vibe from the drama.

See, Black Knight has a male lead who somehow have some kind of weird curse(?), where people who cause problem/pain to him end up dying. We have two ladies who has been alive for 200++ years because of a curse - something related to both of them doing evil things to the female and male lead past-self. We also have the backstory of the reincarnation of the two lovers with tragic past, in Joseon time (not really sure about this part because they don't show much of this part of story yet), who end up meeting again in the current life.

And last but not least, we have the second female lead who has a one sided love with the Rae-Won's character, who is kinda scary, since she is very adamant to make Suho (Rae-Won) and Hae Ra(Se-Kyung) not meeting in this life and don't fall for each other, which she has failed because both of them has met each other, apparently Suho otw to rekindle his past feelings (both Suho and Hae Ra are separated childhood friends in their current reincarnation).

Anyway, the story is intriguing but I need to see few more episodes to decide whether to continue watching or not. Because currently, I'm watching the show because of KRW and having a hard time seeing Se-Kyung's acting since I am still not convinced about her character (or maybe I'm just tired of Candy-ish character in korean drama).

    2. Nothing to Lose/ Judge v. Judge: Tbh, I'm just watching the show to pass time. The heroine is decent when she is not on her impulsive-crazy mode. So far, the drama is kinda predictable and like most law-themed korean dramas, there always be people who in the higher ranks with power who'll end up screwing up innocent's people life for their own greed (...and now I am reminded of the bad people in Whisper, you know the one that screwed up Lee Sang Yoon's character when he was a judge) And seriously, can someone make Yeon Woo Jin have a better haircut, because my eyes bleed whenever I see his current hairstyle..

Disclaimer: The short review is purely my personal opinion. I don't have any intention to bash any parties, just merely stating my observation and feelings toward both shows :)

I just did some random research about buckwheat flower.. And it turned out that buckwheat flower symbolize money and protection. I don't think this is a coincidence. hehe.

Kim Shin's version of Goblin : Can produce his own gold + can be a human helper (guardian angel?) whenever he feels like helping.

Buckwheat flower : official flower that represent the Goblin :D

Anyways, I also stumble upon some random Chinese poem interpretation regarding buckwheat field, 'In an interview with Ya (a Chinese poet) conducted at University of California, Davis in May 29, 2002, he revealed that he chose buckwheat specifically because its bloom in white, the color of death in Chinese traditional color symbolism (Ya, 2002). This suggest that the flower symbolize death and the buckwheat fields become the site of death, representing battlefields or village torn by war. (Source: New Perspective on Contemporary Chinese Poetry by C. Lupke)

I love it when a drama actually triggers me to do research at the internet :)

Maybe because the King had matured into fine man and Shin of course didn't see it. Notice also that after Shin killed that counsellor , the King's body is wrapped entirely and never bothered to open it because "It's too late" as he said.

And the speculations can also verify Reaper's CROWN brooch

Agree with @LyraYoo opinion regarding the King had matured into fine man. Because you see, if you watch back episode 1, it seems that many years actually has gone by since Kim Shin's death before he was resurrected due to the earnest prayer of his people. Even the evil minister who appeared with the young King during the early scene (where the young King sentenced death to Shin's family), now seems old (his beard is grey the time Shin visit the palace with the intention to seek for his revenge).

I think it is intentional that we viewers only were shown with the wrapped body of the deceased king instead of seeing his face, because they'll save those scene to show to us later. I believe there is more backstory about on how Wang Yeo/Grim Reaper end up become a Grim Reaper. On the other note, I remembered in Arang, Yeon Woo Jin's character end up being a Grim Reaper in the end and it was because he wanted to redeem himself after all his wrongdoing (correct me if I'm wrong tho...its been a while seen I watch that drama). So I think I goes the same way, why our Wang Yeo end up being a grim reaper...

Anyways, the lighting in this scene actually bothers me. I mean the loan shark car headlight is actually shine infront both WY and KS but why the heck there's light from the back of the guys (spotlight?) Because previously all the streetlight has been destroyed by either one of them. But the scene still looks cool though. hahaha. So, I'm going to overlook the light thingy because Gong Yoo and LDW look super hot in this scene :D ...

  14. Hello everyone!

OMG I can't believe that Gong Yoo is back in dramaland and graced my laptop screen again (being missing him and waiting him to do drama since that wretched Big).

To be honest I was a little bit wary and skepticle about the drama at first because I'm not fond of the writer last drama (yes, I'm among the ones who doesn't really like DOTS) but then again, after watching the first two episode, yep, I'm totally going to continue watch it. The characters, the storyline, the symbolism, etc just fits my preference nicely...And it has been a while since I watch a drama that make me wanting to speculate and came of with many possible theories (regarding the connection between characters and the backstory)

Guess I'm going to hang around at this forum often (maybe in lurking mode tho)

My speculation after watching episode 1, 2 and the extended 6 minutes preview.

    1. The grim reaper identity : he is the young king who actually killed Kim Shin's family. Why he end up being a grim reaper? Well I can't figure out that myself yet, but it can't be that God wanted to punish him after the things he did to Kim Shin's family. My imaginary scene:

God : You like to kill someone that much eh? Well, I'm going to turn you into a grim reaper *shoves the oblivion tea to the young king*

    2. Sunny's identity : She might be the reincarnation of the young Queen who died centuries ago. I mean, how come she'll end up finding the ahjumma who sells the jad ring, and oh so coincidentally like the jade ring that the Grim reaper kinda have interested in. I mean, the so called mysterious granny being keeping the ring all these while, why she suddenly wanted to sell it to somebody now? Anyway, in the drama, it hasn't being clarified yet whether the young Queen is Kim Shin's family member or lover, but my instinct told me that she is more of his sister than a lover (don't see the usually I-love-you-but-I-can't-have-you look on Kim Shin when he saw the Queen). It will be totally awesome if Sunny is actually the young Queen reincarnation because its like the God is messing around with Kim Shin's life *suddenly reminded the things that those so called Gods in Arang and the Magistrate do*

Enough of my silly speculation, I'm seriously looking forward for next episodes. Until next time~~~~

  15. Honestly I'm kinda excited with the article about HJM got the offer to act in tvN's drama. God, time passed so fast that HAJINA actually happened a year ago.. Seriously, she should accept the drama offer if the script is good (the PD and scriptwriter also need to be awesome), I don't want her to be saddled with another disappointing project like HAJINA... Whatever it is, Ji Min unnie, I really look forward for your future projects, especially your dramas!

edit. just found out that the upcoming drama, Tomorrow With You will be directed by Yoo Je Won who previously directed High School King of Savvy & Oh My Ghostess. I kinda like the PD previous shows but we actually need a good screenwriter to make the drama good to watch..

editedit. I wonder if PD Yoo Je Won will be working again with writer Yang Hee Seung? Because both of them work together in HSKOS & OMG. If she is the writer for TWY, the drama is actually in a good hands...
