I can't believe the under-rated, under-hyped, but truly magnificent drama "SECRET" is coming to an end, you guys! I've followed this drama from the beginning... stalking the thread day and night... totally immersed in the story, emotionally invested in Yoo Jung and Min Hyuk, and had cheered them on forever! I'm so sure we're going to get a happy ending but I'm also a nerve-wreck right now because I don't know what it's going to take for them to finally get their happy ending. This drama truly is special and it has won my heart! IF it has a happy ending, it's going to be my #1 Favorite Korean Melodrama of ALL TIME and that's saying a lot, everyone! At #2 is Nice Guy/Innocent Man which was also a wonderful drama! I'm so sad that SECRET is ending but it has been great! I love that the writers are sticking with just 16 episodes because I really think it would maintain its wonderful quality that way. I hate it when dramas get extended and then they start dragging... and lose its quality. I'll be back later for my final words once the drama ends... but I want to sincerely thank the writers, staff, producers, directors, extras, camera crews, fans, supporting actors and the four amazing ACTORS for making this drama the BEST drama I've ever seen and had the pleasure of watching! Thank you everyone in this thread for all your insightful thoughts, comments, and opinions and for making this thread so fun to read... for translating and recapping... just, thank you for everything!
Ji Sung, you and your lovely wife Lee Bo Young can finally go on your long-awaited honeymoon now... you both truly deserve it. Thank you for your hard work... JO MIN HYUK will always be in my memories! The greatest and best STALKER of all time! -
Those of you who thought it was a low blow of KT to "snitch" on YD... All I have to say is: NOOOOOOOOOO.
YOU REAP WHAT YOU SOW.
YD started it. He started the fight the minute KT came back to Korea... finding any and all reasons to take down KT. Now, they're both immature little boys, seriously, they both just need to patch up and be friends again... because I think they both actually have so much in common that that's the reason why they're fighting. So we know what little YD and KT saw that day... YD's dad's affair... okkkk... but that wasn't a good enough reason to hate on KT when he tried to cheer him up.. and then to bring up the fact that KT is illegitimate all the damn time, GROW UP!
They both have dirt on each other... they're both using it against each other... but let's remember that KT doesn't want to. YD's the one who was coercing him with the people KT loves... even having the nerves to show up to KT's house acting like a friend... so what does KT do -- NOT SIT BACK, DUH. He's going to do the same... pay a visit to YD's... how is that unfair? KT can't go to YD's house but YD can go to KT's? Let's not be bias here... so after all that, KT clearly said for the last time, "don't do this again" and what does YD say "that leaves one person left, Cha Eun Sang." Seriously, this guy is asking for it...
KT is a stalker? So is YD!!!!!! -

SY-YJ throw down: loved that she was kind of giving SY advice to not obsess over a guy who clearly doesn't love her based on her own personal experience with DH. Loved that whole speech...
DH kneeling down to YJ: The guy has no remorse for what he's done... he knelt down in desperation. I just thought it was cool that MH knelt down to YJ in Ep 12 and DH here in Episode 14 for two totally different reasons

What makes SECRET different from other Korean dramas is that this drama DOES NOT (just a little) focus on company and share holder problems... nor does it focus on birth secrets which is why it may seem like there are still a lot of loose ends that need to be tied... From Episode 1, we were given very little (so little that it confused me) information about MH's dad's work + KM and all this talk about SY and her shady father who never bothered to show up to gatherings and meetings - talk about some in-laws. The writers never focused heavily on the relationship between MH and his step-mom either... nor did they cover in details what happened to his mom...
That's why even if the drama ends and none of these questions are answered, it's okay to me... because they never focused too much on it in the first place. We didn't even see MH get injured at work... because that wasn't the point... the point was that he got injured and YJ went to go take care of him. So the point is, all of this company, share holders, SY-MH arrange marriage stuff doesn't really matter how they're all going to turn out... they weren't the focus of the drama anyways. Just like MH's invisible sister MJ. Does it really make a difference if she's his real half-sister or not? Not really. I just ask that the writers close up SY-MH-YJ-DH nicely that everyone can be happy and satisfied with. Maybe the unimaginable conclusion would be DH making a sacrifice for YJ after realizing everything he's done? Since at this point, it doesn't look like he'll ever repent.. who knows... -
Many interactions between MH and YJ in Episode 13 which I loved! I swear, I love every single scene with them in it even the violent ones where he choked her in Episode 2. They're just sooooo hot together! SECRET is my favorite drama of 2013!!!!! ^

I know everyone thinks that the bus/backhug scene was so fake and corny, but I LOVED IT! Everything about it was just perfect for me... the way he came out of nowhere and ran to her in slow-mo... then he grabs her and she steps back... and falls perfectly into his arms (which were positioned just right, by the way)! The scenery was absolutely breath-taking! I can't wait to see them smiling and laughing with each other in tomorrow's episode...
Loved the scene where she flashbacked to the toll booth scene in Episode 1 where he tells her "I'm a customer you should love" which is so ironic because she really did fall for him! I just love the parallelism and symbolism in this drama! Everything works perfectly... did anyone notice DH and SY's nasty richard simmons car scene again with her trying to get into her car and he won't let her... I swear, this drama and its repeat scenes with different situations and emotions!
Loved the scene of YJ and DH in his office where she tells him off! She was so confidently frightening! I got goosebumps watching that scene... "Stop acting like the victim. You make me sick. Don't call my name."
Loved the scene where MH tells YJ not to kneel down for anyone! That if anyone should kneel, it'll be HIM! Wahhhhhh! YJ is so used to taking care of other people... and apologizing for others that it's really different when someone else is willing to do it for her! While in the bathroom, with YJ telling MH that she wanted to apologize... and that she could do anything other people told her to do if it meant she could help her boss... did anyone get flashbacks to YJ's noble sacrifice in Ep 2 where she voluntarily confessed to the crime in DH's place... begging him (as a Prosecutor) to save her and her boyfriend? Instead of DH, YJ is now putting herself in the line of fire for MH... awwwwhhh...
Loved it when MH yelled at his father to not touch YJ or else even if he was his father, he'll never forgive him... and that he's definitely going to protect YJ and his dad can't separate them again (again, meaning the first time with JH of course). Then he runs after YJ banging on her door... calling her Yoo Jung-ah... and her telling him she didn't want to see him anymore because she's always reminded of that day...
LOVE... LOVE... LOVE... I just love a good love story! For those who are getting impatient with the pace because no further secrets have been revealed yet... we still have 3 episodes to go! All of these secrets could be dropped like a bomb in just 10 minutes! PATIENCE dears. I'm enjoying MH and YJ's love story because I know this is just the calm before the storm... and what happens after a storm, RAINBOWS! -

Secretary Choi (Gwang Soo's older brother) is weird... I was always suspicious of him from Episode 1. I know he means well... he seems very loyal and faithful to MH and his dad... but with loyalty and faithfulness comes something more dangerous too... and that's to keep OTHERS who seem like a threat away from the Jo family. That's why I thought maybe he had something to do with JH's running away... he seems very protective of MH and his dad and maybe JH seemed like a threat... maybe he felt that JH would only drag MH down and MH should always stay up -- you know... since he's an heir and they can't get dirty or get involved with low beings. Even MH's dad thought JH was trash! So, do I think Secretary Choi is going to see YJ as a threat too? HELL YES! Secretary Choi warned DH not to try to reach up to MH... who's not to say Sec. Choi won't shoo YJ away... and yes, I agree with everyone that this time around, MH will surely protect his woman! Go big or go home!

But yay to first form of half-confession from YJ!! And that scene in TGIF will be really awesome but it makes me fear that we are not gonna see an aftermath of the kiss scene in the car

He just felt gratitude (in best case) that she sacrificed herself for him. He hesitated so much to propose but after some thinking he thought it was the right thing to do. So when he saw MH and YJ almost kissing it was definitely not jealousy, but fear of being caught. I don't think he is capable of true feelings, for example he is atracted to SY but he is also using her to go up the social ladder. I agree that he is a very hateful character (I also hated the actor's character in 49 days, but that whole drama annoyed me) and I hope that the unimaginable ending has him going through all sorts of hell (same with his never satisfied mum).
I've read tons of comments about MH falling in love but I would like to know if you guys have seen signs of YJ affection towards MH, cause you obviously see more than me), I'm too into the drama and remain with the last scene in my head. The only one I remember is when after that party, she thought of how MH helped her and putted a jacket on her shoulders.
It seems from the preview that MH's dad wants to get rid of YJ and with the help of DH too. This dads don't really have an eye for people, no? No wonder MH had such twisted values.
There are only 4 episodes left and both MH and DH are at each others throat. MH has to gather the evidences for at least the death of YJ's father , but DH has back-up from MH's dad, SY and I really believe KM too. Maybe he blackmails him with something, because KM doesn't seem like a good boy. If one of the leads dies or the bad guys don't get what they deserve, there's no justice in kdrama land [-X -

Synopsis for SECRET says the story's about a man who doesn't believe in love and a woman who gives up everything for love... but I think the real story is about TWO MEN. A man who won't give up anything for love and a man who gives love up for everything! Yup! That's why there's so much focus and comparisons between MH and DH... in the real world, there can only be ONE winner... who will it be?????

Yeah so that how far my dream went on. I kept wondering why the hell was i dreaming about Dh, I love MH all day. Then I was reminded how Dh was in his office and was remembering the night he picked up her father and he said Yj. The way he called he named was not with hate or frustration, it was more like sadness.Again i started to think dh loved Yj was when he was staring at her and mh almost bout to kiss. A glimpse of sadness was shown and then him quickly being pissed on Mh being with Yj.

People are upset because MH kissed YJ FORCEFULLY... I'm choosing to believe that the force-kiss, like someone said earlier, washed away any ill thoughts, intentions, hatred, anger, and bitterness MH had towards YJ... the vengeful MH kissed her that way... when he kneel down before her and kissed her the right way, that was MH saying "let's start over... let's do it right this time... let's leave all that behind... we're both victims..." and I know, I know... in the real world, it's just a TURN OFF.. but hey, this isn't real-life so get over it! I say this in the nicest way though...
And how come people didn't say anything when disgusting A-S-S Do Hoon forced himself on YJ... frolicking all over her neck... unbuttoning her shirt then stopping when he saw her scar -- which she got because of him! Ugh, don't tell me it's okay because he and YJ had been intimate in the past.. blah blah blah... it was still pretty disgusting and she didn't like it too! Hmpf...
The pessimistic part of me says YJ accepting the kiss was just her listening to MH's orders -- or in this case, he's blocking her and making her sit and girl doesn't have no where to go so... but I believe that this is the beginning of her starting to feel something for him. Maybe now, she can be aware of him as a MAN and not just someone who she owes a debt... I think they're good for each other, gosh, I hope they end up together.
The writers better give us a happy ending (I'm sooo certain they will and that they're just toying with us right now)... because after all the secrets, what messages are they trying to convey? SECRETS = NO GOOD = NO HAPPY ENDINGS? Justice should be served... yes, secrets are bad... but people can be adults about it and grow from them too since like MH said, there isn't a secret in the world that can be kept forever... it's all about how we deal with them that makes us human...
I don't care what anyone says... I SHIP MH & YJ... because they're the OTP and I always root for the OTP! -

I always felt that YJ understood why MH does what he does to her -- torturing and stalking her.
She feels bad for him and she's sorry... but she's just letting everyone vent out on her...
But isn't it ironic how the positions have switched... and now it's YJ who wants to seek out revenge
on DH -- saying "you better not disappear. I will make it so you get tired of seeing me. Wherever you go, I'll be there."
It's just funny because when MH was doing it, YJ was all "What is it this time? What do you want from me? Is it not enough?"
and now she's doing the same to DH... hahaha...
LOVED it when YJ made that smart richard simmons remark to DH about how he got his position by sticking to MH and she
was doing the same... I just wish there will be more of those moments.
SY sounded awfully hateful this episode... making that remark about MH's dead mother was a low blow.
Don't speak about the dead like that, woman.
DH is such a snake... can't wait to see his downfall! I want to see his crocodile tears again when he finally
regrets everything he's done... and please do not redeem his character. I want to see him rot in jail for life,
end up in a psych ward, or die by his own hands...
The writer needs to give us more MH/YJ interactions... YJ still does not even feel the slightest
attraction to MH! Those two are bursting with chemistry... but it's such a shame
that we don't even get to see them kiss, hug, hold hands, accidentally kiss, accidentally fall on each other, or anything! Ahhh! -

And sorry, I don't like Young Do at all... I don't understand his intentions! He has daddy issues... and for some reason, he's taking out his anger on Kim Tan. From that little flashback of young YD and KT, they both saw something embarrassing. KT says it's normal... but YD got all butt-hurt over it... KT then tells him his secret and YD decides to be a little prick about it... I thought they were "best friends..." Him bullying ES is just to richard simmons KT off -- why again??? Seeing him and ES together is NOT even cute at all when he's staring at her like a creep! NO, NO NO.... don't like YD! I also don't like Rachel... besides the fact that she has mommy issues, there are no inner layers to her. All I see is a spoiled brat who demands this and that... running around demanding YD do this and that...um, why don't you do it little princess! At least Bo Na has conflicting thoughts... -

I'm going crazy here thinking about Chief Producer's statement regarding the final episodes of SECRET! As if we need any more secrets and twists, they're going to keep them coming until the last episode! By this point, I'm wondering if they revealed their "trump" card yet! I'm so nervous for our OTP and no, neither one of our OTP should die -- unless of course, they die together. The ending is going to be something we viewers can't even imagine -- I'm hoping that's YJ and MH getting together because I know how unimaginable that is since she just started seeing DH's true colors so late in the game! The Chief Producer said they're going to mainly focus on YJ-MH relationship and punishments will be given to the wrong-doers so I hope they stick with that and give us a happy ending! I always thought from the Opening Title and Teasers that it was interesting how MH runs towards YJ and chokes her -- and they fall back... the whole time that they're falling down together, his hate and anger turns into realization, understanding, and love. His hands moves from her neck to hugging her... and at the end of the teaser/title, they're still going down. That's why I said if they can't end up together happily, they can die together.

we're going to have a looooooooottttt of DH scenes *yawns* BOOOOORINGGG...
I know he's the main antagonist and antagonists alwaysssss have more scenes than anyone else
but can they just shut it with the words war and eye darts and just get to the point already...
like, "Do Hoon, I know you were there that night and I'm going to prove it" then PROVE IT... there we go.
End of story. And YJ needs to stop giving DH second chances. He straight up lied to her face when
she asked if he was last seen with her dad.. and she knew he lied.. why bother
confronting him in the RAIN (wtf) and tell him to get on his knees and apologize... why would he
do that when he lied to your face??? Ack...
Bring on the revenge, throw his sorry a-s-s in jail so we can skip to the
happily ever after already, PLEASE! I looooooveee SECRET, I really do... I haven't fast-forwarded
any scenes even those with snooze-fest SY and DH... but I just wish the writers
would speed up the revenge part so we can give our leads their happy endings - whatever that may be. -

In K-Drama Land, anything is possible!
It is completely POSSIBLE to fall in love with just 6 episodes left...
I've seen worse... like that disappointing drama called "When A Man Loves" with Song Seung Hun
and Shin Se Kyung. She was basically a (excuse my language) W H O R E until the last episode
when she all of a sudden, had a change of heart - I kid you not.
Besides, I thought I read somewhere in this thread (maybe in previous pages) that
the focus of SECRET was love, not revenge. And I'm pretty sure MH stopped his revenge
when he took her to the hospital already. Everything else he was doing was
just stalking her and making sure YJ and DH ended up at the same places.
I'm worried that YJ might go straight to DH with that USB and confront him in the next episode,
judging from the written preview.. because it'll put her in danger. What I want to see next episode --
YJ to calm down and carefully think about how she's going to approach these new
revelations and don't let DH know that she knows.. instead, goes to MH to ask him for help.
Together, the two can bring DH and SY down. -
I'm just going to say...
ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN IN K-DRAMALAND.
I'm not saying YJ has to fall in love with MH now... she can develop feelings for him later.. and we can have a time jump in the last episode... who knows... they can meet at the same place they first met... with her as his substitute driver! Why does that sound so romantic though? And no, death for one of the two is NOT an option! Both have endured and gone through some major S H I T in their life... they don't need to lose anyone else!
Leaving it to the Drama GODS (aka writers) to lead our torn souls into each others' arms -- hence, the promo with them embracing each other

I haven't watched Ep 15 because I'm waiting for SUBS...
I was getting frustrated and even depressed reading everyone's recaps
and feelings about this episode... but all of a sudden, I'm OPTIMISTIC after hearing and
seeing for myself because yes, I went on Viki and fast-forwarded to the bus scene where YJ
leaves MH... and sure enough, we see the SECRET intro with the rain drops...
and I'm pretty sure we've been lied to. There was a secret in that scene..
and it'll be revealed tomorrow. I, for one, don't want San to be alive... yes, the child was born
out of love... but just look where the kid got 50% of his genes! I don't want YJ to be attached
to that family anymore... I hope DH's mother was just spitting lies to shut YJ up...
I'm not mad about the cliches as some of you are... SECRET is still a Korean Drama
which means we were bound to see some cliches but what I like about this episode is
that even though there were so many cliched scenes, the characters remained consistent.
YJ beautifully broke up with MH (hehe, she broke up with DH too - she's just a heart breaker, isn't she)..
Sacrificed her love for MH to save him and the company... instead of holding on to him like she
did with DH in the past, she let him go... shows growth in maturity. Love is painful...
and sometimes, you have to let the one you love go.
MH marrying SY seems like he let go or gave up on YJ very easily, just like he gave up
on JH very easily... but difference is, he understands now what it means to love someone
and what it means to have to give it up... I still think he's got something up his sleeve so I'm
going to remain optimistic!
