SEASONS? As in plural?! There's going to be more than one seasons?!
Oh goshhhhh... please no!!!! I can't deal with dramas with more than one seasons... 16 episodes is good enough! I'm trying to get my boyfriend to watch this with me... so far, he only likes Lonely Guardian (Goblin).. liked Mr. Sunshine and Korean Odyssey at first but hated them mid-way towards the end... I told him this was written by the same writer so he's up to watching it with me but not if it's more than one season!

I think when baek kyung ask haru to buy flower for him, baek kyung is trying to make haru remebee dan oh? Or maybe still testing if haru remember dan oh.
Do you guys realizw, in the sageuk manhwa, i think its baek kyung is the one who give flower to dan oh in sageuk manhwa
I think that secret is the reincarnation or modern versiin mahwa of flower. And that is why they are some part that repeating. But maybe foe some reason the writer did not put haru character in secret.
I mean everyone feeling is kinda the same on shadow except dan oh. Baek kyung still like dan oh on shadow. Do hwa still like juda when shadow. And i think juda realy think do hwa as a her guardian on shadow during in hospital scene
Poor baek kyung. He get the girl but not the girl's love. No wonder clamp stick to the pairing when they do crossover manga
I’ve noticed this too that everyone’s feelings are the same on and off the stage which is inconsistent with Dan Oh because she’s the only one who’s feelings on/off the stage is different. I feel like maybe in the beginning before she became aware, she really did like BK on/off the stage but once she became aware, she realized that there were no real reasons for her to like him when he’s just a jerk all the time... and her constantly reminding BK that she never liked him kind of makes me sad... it’s really unfair to him that although his feelings for her were genuine on/off the stage, hers weren’t. I wonder why everyone’s feelings are the same except for DO.. maybe it’s because she came from another manhwa so her heart will never belong to anyone but Haru’s...

The plot is very addicting and hilarious. Though i’m little bit confuse when the scene was part of the stage and when it’s real. Like the scene when BK pushed HR to the bookcase until his forehead bleeding. Was it real? If it was real then BK did something outside of the comic book staged. But DO heard the sound which is heard everytime she is entering the staged scene. So i assumed what BK did transformed to comic book stage.
I believe it was on stage but BK acted out of character and that’s why things are changing... he hurt an “extra” who didn’t have a name in the first place which means things that aren’t supposed to happen are now happening.. they’re making it seem like Haru is this bad omen and bad things are going to happen because of him but I think it’s because of him that things are becoming “real.” Plus, during that scene, DO was in character and it looked like Haru was too.. it looked like he wanted to do and say something but couldn’t because he’s a nobody.

Unpopular opinion here but I really wish this drama was a little bit more serious.. I found the first 2 episodes, although both entertaining, to be a bit crazy and wacky. DO switches her tone of voice from serious to aegyo 0-100 real quick and I find her cutesy voice kind of annoying when it’s overdone.
Although I already feel so sorry for her character for being just a plot device to get the two leads together, the moment that really tugged at my heartstrings was the confrontation between DO and BK.. when she really wanted to tell him off but the author made her character APOLOGIZE and then she asked him not to hurt her anymore when her heart’s already weak? I wish the rest of the episodes would follow that serious tone... Because I only really liked the actress in that exact scene.. however I’m excited to watch how DO fights to become independent and write her own fate.

I love this x1000!!!!
The scene where So promises to make Yeon Hwa HIS ONE AND ONLY QUEEN and QUEEN MOTHER happens BEFORE the scene with Soo and Baek Ah.
I saw it as So condemning Soo to a lifetime of grievances! Making Yeon Hwa his only queen and promising her that her son will be the crown prince gives her so MUCH more power over Soo!
Can you imagine living with such a EVIL, HEARTLESS, UNDERHANDED SNAKE who hates you? Who'll probably torment you endlessly? Who will stop at nothing to get rid of you? And knowing you have no status....no family....ABSOLUTELY NO POWER to fight her off.......(think of Lady Oh and Queen Yo. King Taejo LOVED Lady Oh but that didn't protect her from the evil clutches of Queen Yo!)
And Yeon Hwa is only ONE person!....Imagine all of So's other enemies who will come after you and cause harm to you or him!....
i just can't sentence Soo to that kind of life.
So in the next scene with Soo telling Baek Ah she's willing to leave with Jung....
I was like "Yes! Save yourself and get away!"
He said he would only do it under ONE condition and that is if she would throw her family away - especially Wook. He believes that Wook is the mastermind behind everything and by getting rid of him as her ally, she'd have no one to rely on.. that is the only way for her to really be HIS queen. YH is not innocent... she does business.. a trade for a trade. That has been her game all along, So is just giving it right back to her...

Everyone is so against So and his "new" personality but I finally watched Eps 17-18 and all I saw was a KING who was still being threatened from left to right and couldn't secure his seat on the throne! He thought if he became King then he could protect the ones he loved... but he became King and everyone was still threatening him with the ones he loved... not only that but he found out WHO were responsible for hurting the ones he loved and wanted them punished. Jung is his brother but he is ALWAYS against So - Soo told Jung to be more understanding since it was his brother Yo who shot Eun first and Jung disregarded that and directed his anger towards So. He even went as far as to threaten So about Yo's decree - yup, I understand So for exiling Jung! So may be King now but he is still trying to protect Soo while all she does is prance around the palace like everyone's a big happy family... people tried to kill So too, or did she forget that.. people threatened So with Soo's life, or did she forget that too? Some say So took advantage of Soo but didn't she take advantage of him too? Thinking that he's always going to risk his life for her... protect her... "stay the same" for her... and while he's honest with her, she's already lied to him numerous times!
I just want So to have his happy ending.. I don't care about anyone else anymore!

I don't know why I have this crazy theory that maybe it's because YJ's dad started drinking (because his marriage fell apart and he lost everything he wanted in a marriage?) that it caused KC to come to life.. it almost feels like KC is YJ's dad inner demons coming out.. I'm not sure if that makes any sense..
YJ's dad's marriage fell apart.. his webtoon became a hit.. but he wasn't happy because he didn't have his family. What is fame when there's no one to share that fame with? So he starts drinking.. and we all know that drinking turns you into a monster! Maybe metaphorically, KC is his demon.. or maybe KC is his savior.. who's here to save YJ's dad from self-destruction (if he's not going insane himself already, lol).
To me, I feel like YJ's dad was so depressed and stressed with all the fame (also not having a family to go home to) that he decided to put an end to his webtoon hit.. he had given up on everything that night he decided that he was going to kill KC by making him jump into the Han River.. but KC has a mind of his own and came to life.. kind of like saying.. "you're giving up on your life.. but I'm not! I will continue to fight.."

I really love the pace of this show. The transitions between the worlds is cool and seamless.
I wasn't expecting that ending. He noticed the effects of YJ's dad working and changed his own ending. The story is coming to life on it's own even without YJ's interference.
I agree with YJ it's unfair to let him die like that without avenging his family. I can see why it's difficult for her to seem him as a fictional character when she literally saved him from the brink of death. We don't know the reason or motive for the dad's behavior, but right now I'm glad YJ keeps saving him. So far, he really is a victim and to die in vain without finding out who and why the murderer did that to him and his family is just cruel. The murderer needs to be punished for his crimes even if it's another alternative universe/manhwa.
The dad is an interesting character. The writing [his suspicious behavior, his irrational hatred towards a fictional character he created, his long disappearances, and his bi-polar behavior] seems to suggest that he's the villain of the show as well as the real murder suspect, but I don't buy it. The dad's fear is real, he is genuinely freaked out about the situation and about KC in particular. He seems like someone completely consumed by something he can't control and at the end of his rope. If the manhwa has been going on for 10 years and that means whatever/whoever he's been running away from has been tormenting him all these years, hence his desperation to end it all.
I can understand the fear, but to want to kill him and so brutally at that (stabbed to death, poisoned, hit by semi-truck) implies extreme hatred. The dad could easily let him find the suspect and then die in peace since that's KC's sole reason for living, which the dad created. Maybe we're wrong and the dad doesn't have as big as a role in the progression of KC's story as we think. Maybe their are other forces at play here and he's caught in the middle. Or the story has been writing itself for a while now? If YJ and her dad can travel between worlds then maybe others can too. Then maybe the real suspect is from the "real world.
For two episodes the dad has been trying to kill him. It's like the dad not only wants to stop KC, but also punish him as well. Maybe KC isn't as innocent as we think? Or maybe the panel about his family's murder wrote itself and is he is convinced KC did actually do it? The possibilities are endless.
I love dramas that make me think lol.
I'm not sure if the dad is going to play a pivotal role in finding out who killed KC's entire family or not.. but I feel like the dad isn't the real villain like we are suspecting.. there's got to be more to it than that.. we don't know why YJ was pulled into the comic world - who's not to say that someone in the "real" world was pulled in as well from the beginning of the comic book series and they killed KC's entire family.. what if this person is jealous and hates YJ's dad for creating such a phenomenal hit in this comic series, got access to the portal, and decided to destroy everything.. what if, YJ's dad created this "black shadow/murder suspect" with no one's face in mind.. but got pulled into the comic world, is able to come back to the real world, goes INSANE knowing that the characters he created are real in their world, is creeped out because he doesn't know who the black shadow is (whom he created).. so with that in mind, he's fearful of his own creation and decides to KILL KC so he can end the series..
Him wanting to kill KC doesn't necessarily mean he hates the character.. yes, it's consumed his life for many years.. but it could just be that he thinks killing SC will finally put an end to the series.. or like I said, he's scared of his own creation.. he created something that is coming to life.. or maybe, he just put KC through so much obstacles in his life that the character came to life, having a mind of his own.. thus, changing the story..
I don't know what to expect from this drama at all.. I'm literally so confused..

Hello everyone,
I'm new to this show! I first heard about the triplets a while back but didn't think too much of them until the clip of Manse and Sarang holding hands went viral on Facebook. I started watching clips... first of just Manse but then suddenly, I became interested in all of the triplets! I never watched any of Song Il Gook's dramas (although I heard about Jumong) but he's a handsome man and I really respect and like the way he teaches and disciplines his boys. My favorite triplet is MINGUK... I fell for his aeygo! He has this charm that makes everyone love him, not to mention, he's super smart! I have some questions though since I'm not Korean:
Did they ever explain why:
1) They don't sleep on a bed? The others have beds... But the triplets are always shown sleeping on mats. Did the parents want to teach them traditional Korean customs first while they're still young?
2) Minguk can speak and enunciate words better than Daehan and Manse? From my ears, he seems to speak better, using full sentences - is it because he's a faster learner? We've already seen that he's the smarter one out of the 3

Please name some dramas or movies with a theme like this:
1) A friend falls for someone but asks their friends not to fall for that same person. He/she dies and later on, one of the friends ends up falling for that same person and feels extremely guilty
2) Two people fall in love but something happens and one of them dies. Years later, one person meets someone that looks just like their dead gf/bf and falls in love with that person
It doesn't have to be exactly like this but similar to this. It could be falling for the relative of the deceased, a sibling, a twin or a friend and it doesn't have to be Asian dramas/movies only. It could be anything with these themes.
Here's some that I've already seen or am watching with that theme:
- Which Planet From Are From (Korean)
- After School Bolbulbok (Korean)
- Shut Up Flower Boy Band (Korean)
- Summer Fever (Taiwanese)
- Catch & Release (American movie)
- Sud Sai Pan (Thai)
- Ngao Jai (Thai)
- Persevere Goo Hae Ra (Korean)
- Someone Like You (Taiwanese) -
Does anyone know if they're planning to release the rest of the instrumental tracks? There are about 3 different versions of the same instrumental background music that I want that were not released with the rest of the OST. I dislike how there is always that one unreleased track in every drama and it's usually a favorite that never gets released. The one I'm talking about is the piano one that always play when Dal Po and In Ha talk...

I think Hwang Jung Eum is very pretty too! Of course, I think she was more beautiful before her many plastic surgeries...
I've over-looked how "fake" the plastic surgeries have made her look... because she's an amazing actress,
she can still convey ALL of the emotions many can't after surgeries... and I can still see her "old" face peeking through
her new face. -
Sorry if this has been ask before but I just watch the ending and I would like to know :-
what's the meaning of the postcard that Do Hoon received it when he's in jail ? He look kind of happy after reading it ? Also what does the postcard says ? I know it's from Se Yeon but what's the meaning of that scene ?
The post card had a picture of SY's painting that he once went to a gallery to see and commented on it - seeing that she sent him that post card with that painting, it gave him hope that maybe when he gets out from prison, SY will be waiting for him.

Hello SECRET LOVERS,
Just wanted to drop by and say that I miss SECRET and the entire cast...
and I haven't been able to find a drama that really hooks me like a drug like SECRET did!
I used to wake up every morning around 7am just to come online to read everyone's recaps...
and now I find myself just sleeping in every Wed-Thurs.
I'm definitely buying the DVD once it comes out!
Good night, everyone! <3 -
Gosh, that scene with YD and KT sitting next to each other with those 100 pages and neither could find it in themselves to write anything about each other... that scene was so sad! How much I wanted them to write their apologies on the papers then read it to each other later!!!! I'm glad they finally showed us what happened with that last encounter with YD's mom... how she was in a hurry to run away... and KT and YD were too busy fighting that he couldn't get YD there in time! We can see that KT actually felt very bad and sorry about it... but he tried to make up to YD many times... it was YD who couldn't let go of that anger and bitterness... that he was so mad at KT that he actually missed his mom and it wasn't even KT's fault. YD actually blames himself... since he was too busy being at KIM TAN, he just decided to take his anger out on KT... that's why he said he came this far... everything has always been about KT... he might as well go all the way... but deep down, we can see that they both actually really miss each other!

How come no one's made gifs of the 3-way hand grab by KT-ES-YD? That was one of my favorite scenes!
-
@sunshinefate, you can find all the OSTs of Secret on this uploader's channel, and I think this is what you are looking for:
@cahya - that guy looks like the actor who plays Jae Ha, the jerk? -
I wrote my last
post based on the recaps read here [speaking for myself, I love all your recaps
and I had a huge smile on my face while reading them ~ they are way better than
the ending itself] ~~ and I debated not writing another one [after seeing it myself], because I feel
like the only people still watching at this point are people who actually
enjoyed it and therefore did not share my intense frustrations with the show. If this sort of thing WORKS for you, don’t
hate me or better - skip my post or sue me [Don’t you dare!]
That said, I HATED
this ending! Somehow the magic disappeared. We got a cheesy happy ending [ the last 3 mins] and I don’t feel happy at all!! What kind of finale was that?! There were
a few cute scenes, but SO many frustrating ones.
The scene which plastered
a grin across my face was when MH left. It was clichéd and stupid…
[he left and
came back from USA (like
nothing happened) after completing his PhD at Yale or Princeton;
he also started eating sweets, bread and rolls which helped him overcome his dissertation anxiety
~ LOL].
It’s like…it was
so simple? The story has been building up for THIS!? I felt cheated [i still
do].
Finale episodes
are tricky things. So often, dramas waste their last episode being something
other than the show was for all the other episodes.
I didn’t
need everything to be perfect; it just needed to be a reasonably satisfactory
finale for our OTP [no cheesiness] and I would have been happy to let it go
with one eye closed.
If I ever rewatch
this drama it will only be for the OTP. I’m going to be heavy-handed with the
fast forward button and stop at the first 5 mins of the 14th ep -> like that’s
the ending. If anyone asks me how many episodes Secret has, I’m going to say 13
episodes with a straight face. [As for now I’m going to remember all those
immortal lines and scenes they had]
My Weds &
Thurs are free of agony now! (I’m totally noting down the writers name. For
dramas to avoid…)
But, having said
that, I am sad S is over. This is the first kdrama in many months that I’ve
followed religiously. Great acting all round and a seriously addictive theme
song.
I had a great time
and really enjoyed your company…Please let me know which thread you are going
to follow next… Thank you
We must have been watching a completely different drama because I thought this drama was CHEESY in a twisted way from the beginning! It's not like it just got cheesy in the middle all of a sudden. There were lots of lighter scenes to balance out all the dark scenes. It was cheesy when MH was still dating JH and it was cheesy that YJ kept saying she loved DH in the car right before they got into the accident. I wanted things to be harsher for DH and SY but I'm satisfied with what we got because in the beginning, that's who they were... DH with a little conscience and SY being indifferent.

Hello Everyone! Before I begin my post, my laptop charger went out on me last time and I'm typing on my cellphone! Yes, I feel like my life was going to end because I almost couldn't watch the last episode of SECRET but I downloaded Viki on my phone and watched it in HD! I'm alive!
First and foremost, I'm so happy the drama ended on a good note! I knew they were going to give our OTP a happy ending! SECRET is now my #1 favorite drama of all time!!!! It's that good to me! Some of you feel like it was rushed, I don't think so. They ended it perfectly. Think of it this way...
Every story has an intro, body, and conclusion. My teachers always told me that the conclusion always has to connect and match the introduction. There were little scenes between MH-YJ in the beginning anyways that's why we were given so little scenes with them here. The story began with YJ's love with DH - that love resulted with San. Although I was hoping he remained dead, I'm glad they dealt with the San issue this way. YJ has always been selfless. I knew she wasn't going to take him away from his adopted mother because she herself knows the pain of losing a child. Maybe when he gets older, they can tell him that his "aunt" is actually his birth mother and she never abandoned him. In fact, he has 2 mothers who love him dearly
I originally wanted DH to either die or go to jail with force... But this way was better. He wasn't going to repent on his own. He is very bitter towards his father - blaming his father with how he turned out because his father was so worthless. Seeing San with his new family was an eye-opener, a revelation. He just wanted to be a better man but he had turned into a worthless bastard. He thought his father was worthless but he had also became that worthless father. It was great. Getting on his knees and apologizing to YJ, that was satisfying. That moment, he was truly sorry. So glad he and his mother got what was coming to them... His mother's reasons for taking San away were really selfish, by the way. Seeing YJ slap DH again for the 3rd time was also so satisfying!
SY - she went back to herself. The her MH knew she was. Strong, confident, cold, classy, and independent. Not once after their marriage did he show any resentment towards her. He still respected her and treated her like a friend. Like SY said, MH overvalued her. Sincerely apologizing to her because he couldn't love her... she finally got what she wanted but she wasn't happy. I'm glad they ended the marriage but still managed to be friends.
MH - YJ - their scenes were short but that last scene was totally worth it not to mention SEXY HOT! I like how the writers played with the fact that MH gets bored easily again and had YJ tease him with it since that was our original introduction of MH. Don't think anyone noticed but they wore the same (slightly different) clothes as when she came out from prison and he was outside watching her. THAT moment when she got out from prison was when the story really took off so it was good to see them wearing those clothes because it was like they were finally free to love each other.
SECRET breaks all Korean Drama rules, yo! We got an angry-choking hero who is also the biggest stalker of all time, a heroine who has a baby with another man and the baby is alive not to mention, she doesn't get to keep her kid, a heroine who gets hit by a car but walks off like a boss with no head injuries, a forced-rapey first kiss, two beautiful breakups with both first and second leads, an airport scene where they don't embrace each other but walk away from each other... yes, SECRET broke all rules! I'm very satisfied with the ending, the whole story! Very proud with the cast, the ratings, the hard work of everyone who was involved in making this drama such a success! For me, SECRET wins Best Drama of 2013 and I'll be pissed mad if they don't take home all the awards at the end of the year!
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention MH-YJ's stages of kissing! #1: Forced #2 Beginner lip lock after he gets on his knees #3 Intermediate kiss in bed (I saw little movements from YJ) #4: Professional and Expert! YJ makes the first move!!!
-
YAY! The instrumental/background tracks have been released! I have been waiting for this for a long time!
@jjsweeter0211: Thanks for posting them up! I wasn't sure when they were going to be uploaded... so glad they were uploaded before the series ended!
Everyone, have fun with the FINAL EPISODE of SECRET in T-minus 4 hours! It's D-DAY! I won't be back on here until I watch the last episode as to not spoil anything! I want to be completely surprised or unsurprised, I shall say, with this "beautiful ending" we're supposed to get! I'm going to log out of all my social media networks too! Happy posting and I'll be back later! Please make sure to post a loooooooooooot of pictures of our final MH-YJ moments! See everyone later!
Oh yeah, let's help SECRET break their own ratings record again!!!!! I'd be happy with just 18%! COME ON, WE CAN DO IT SECRET SOCIETY! -

I haven’t watched the first episode yet BUT every time I’ve watched anything with parallel universes, yes, the same people can exist at the same time in different universes.. just living different lives, different identities. I would think it’s the same here but we’ll see when I watch it lol
