Just some thoughts after episode 14:
Being a Kim works for Yoon Sung's favor because he does not get questioned by guards.
The CP knows there are things that YS is hiding from him. YS is respecting RO's request not to let anyone know that she left the palace and why (well, not all her reasons)
YS is the ultimate spy, being always there at the right time.
in the flashback where Ra On was held at swordpoint, there were clearly 11 assassins - 7 on RO's right side and 4 on her left side, + the 2 guards at the gate that YS disposed of so easily = 13.
I screen-captured the house where the CP and RO met in the last scene and the house where the soldiers are advancing, they are the same, but could still be in different locations.
As for the evil queen giving birth 1 month ahead of scheduled delivery - could they have induced it? Since if they wait another month, if would be difficult to explain the baby's stage of growth as a 1 month old baby will be vastly different from a newborn. As a member of the royal family, they will not be able to turn down royal physician's coming to check on the baby regularly. PM Kim was not aware of the baby swap, right? He believed the fortune teller saying that the EQ will give birth to a male. But even if he gets wind of it, I think he'll go with it, knowing how he covets the throne.
Master Jung is a great help to the CP. Wish he has more people like him around to give him advice. However, if he gets to marry the princess, then he will not be able to serve the court like what happened in Moon Embracing the Sun.
HY character is too forward, isn't she. She's in-your-face (or in CP's face) all the time. She's eager-beaver to see the CP and talk about their impending wedding. She does not even think about what the CP is going through, what he's thinking or what he's feeling (never mind that she doesn't know he's missing Ra On-nah badly), since he's still recovering from the wounds sustained and trauma from the assassination attempt. All she can think of is the wedding. Sheesh. That's why she received the rude brush off. She was already being rude. She did not even consider that the CP was distant and cold but still very polite to her before. But then again, she's also like that to the Princess.

i haven't seen the raw and the preview. But gauging from the recaps, there's an invasion in the palace, specifically the CP's quarters. But YS suddenly appears, even slashed a lookout outside before entering the quarters. Why is he there at that particular hour? Could it be he overheard his grandpa and his minions talking about this plan to attack the CP in order to further disrupt the king's already unstable mental state? Because BY was not there, which means that it was not the action of their group. It's just a thought...

Our main leads are working too hard to give us awesome episodes each week. In Episode 10 you can see how tired Bo Gum and Yoo Jung are. Makeup cannot hide the dark circles under their eyes. Their eye bags are prominent, and you can see the tiredness in Bo Gum's eyes in some of his scenes. Poor babies.

Wow, We're going to go through a few back stories in the coming episodes. We were already given some clues - the little princess who witnessed a murder, the uncouth queen and the palace maid who's pregnant (believed to carry a son, while the queen is carrying a daughter), Kim hyung who seems to be from a noble family also, Ra On's origin and Chief Eunuch Sung, the leader of the Baekwoon group. Is the Eunuch gathering intel on the PM (that would be a lot, spanning 10 years)? He might be planning to rally the troops into one solid group to topple PM Kim Hun and reinstate Ra On family's social standing. Who knows, he might also be planning to link Ra On with the CP later. But what about Kim hyung, since he's protected him from the time he was a young boy? I guess the ultimate person who will bring the PM and all his cronies would be the little princess and her testimony. We must not forget the role that Jo Ha Yeon will play. She might be instrumental in the unification of the baekwoon group, the prince and king. Dasan said he found a way for CP to keep Ra On with him. That's very intriguing. Will that mean taking Ra On out of the palace? The CP mentioned that he will change the sad ending of the fairy tale and make them live happily ever after, and it seems that Yoon Sung will also play a role not only in his grandfather's downfall but also in keeping the CP and Ra on-ah together. There's still so many plots to tackle in the last 8 episodes of this addicting drama that raised the bar in almost everything. Would it be too much to ask to have the last 2 episodes full of saccharine sweet loving scenes and a wedding?

This is just a conjecture I arrived at while re-watching the first few episodes. The three flower boys were childhood friends. Kim Hun was already a high level court official then. The king, the queen (CP's mom) and himself suffered during the uprising, leading to the death of the queen, the unstable mind and acquiescence of the king due to Minister Kim Hun's machinations. It could be gathered that he's threatened the life of the CP that is why the king is remaining quiet. He later steered things around, ensuring that his daughter would be made queen. The CP was still a boy then. I think it was floated around that Kim Hun was grooming Yoon Seong as the next king, given his power over the king and the court. The CP acted bratty to survive, but as Yoon Seong (YS) is a Kim and the grandson of the evil minister, this was what broke the friendship among the 3. Byung Yeon (Kim hyung) - also a Kim (maybe not related to the evil PM), remained with the CP, while Yoon Seong kept his distance from the CP. We do not know if he intentionally kept his distance from his friend to protect him somewhat from being targetted by his grandfather, and act nasty to the CP to keep the ruse up. In the later episodes he's been shown to help the CP even if its through Byung Yeon. OR maybe it was the CP who distanced himself from Yoon Seung because he's the enemy's grandson, which saddened Yoon Seung that is why he's cold towards the CP. It could be a misunderstanding. Maybe the CP thought that with the evil PM holding so much power, the rumor of him grooming and installing YS as the next king is true, which is what angered him, hence his animosity towards YS. Maybe he did not want to hear YS explain himself or the CP does not know if YS has political ambitions or none at all, and holding a minor position in the court just so he could keep an eye on things and help the CP somehow. When they were young he declared that he will be his friend's advisor when the CP becomes king, to keep him on the right path.
Just my two cents.

Reading the background info on Hong Gyeong Nae, could he be Ra On's dad? What if the guy who gives instructions to Kim hyung is Gyeong Nae? If this is correct, I can't wait for the protective character of Kim hyung to come to the fore, to protect the prince and protect Ra On as well. He might turn out to be the more possessive of the two.
Going back to ep. 5. I'm so in love with the lantern festival scene. Those were gorgeous colors against that dark sky, simply breathtaking. Awesome! Kudos to the production crew.

We can say that SIK is a real "superman" because it is really not easy raising a child, let alone three at the same time. Daehan, Minguk and Manse are adorable kids, but they are still just 3 (Western age), and could be boisterous, clingy, moody, cranky, playful, disobedient, etc. and forever hungry . He did make a comment in one of the episodes when he was writing a card for the mom and triplets to whom they were sending the Song's children's used clothes. He said that he does not bother to wear new or better clothes because his kids will just ruin them, as maknae Manse grabbed his black shirt's collar so he can climb up to his dad's shoulder. He dons comfortable and functional clothes, but will always be a fashionista, especially when he and his kids go out. Compare that to LHJ who wore skinny jeans when they went out to participate in the duck/swan boat race .
Agree with most of you about the frequent appearance of some of the moms once again. I thought they would only appear for head talks but they are now getting more airtime.

The close bond that the triplets display is really heartwarming. Kudos to the parents as well. SIK is one proud dad. We do not see the full extent of what he and his wife do to teach manners to their children, but we can see the results of their efforts, considering that the triplets are still very young. I think the characteristics they display now will still be there when they get older. Minguk is simply amazing. He has abundant love to share with everyone. He is very intelligent. Love the way he engaged in conversation with the teacher and putting things right, like when he clarified that it's Song Daehan who is the hyung (Daehan did not volunteer the information), that he's next and Manse is the maknae; also telling the teacher he is Minguk when the teacher called Daehan as Minguk.
- 15
-
I think they are crying more because the teacher's voice is quite loud and they are not used to that because their father or anyone else had raised their voice on them. Minguk and Manse are sensitive kids and they react well to their surroundings. As usual, Daehan is clueless, lol. While Daehan acts as the eldest brother at times, you can see how well Minguk responds to adults. The teacher was asking if Manse is the eldest brother, and Minguk immediately points out that it is Song Daehan (complete name, even) who is the eldest, then calls Daehan hyungnim. Minguk is such a smart little boy, just like his mom.

Manse has the thickest and darkest hair among the triplets so it is great to style that kind of hair. But his hair will not stay like that without some styling aid. Daehan's hair is just medium thickness and lighter in color. Minguk's hair is baby-fine, light brown in color and thin, so it is quite difficult to style. Massage with some coconut virgin oil might encourage hair growth. Still they all look so handsome with the hairstyle. Lol, love their wigs as well. Way to go, Mingukie. You are really one smart and resourceful boy!

I also want to add the I find it a cultural learning experience when I watch SIG and his triplets. At times they are very cute fashion models, but I so look forward to their other costumes, because Song appa do make sure that his kids costumes are complete. The triplets could be mini-ambassadors of culture. Some of those I can recall:
1. Little nobles - calendar 2015 shoot at home.
2. Sungkyunhwan scholars
3. Hanboks when they visited the palace - they had those traditional backpacks together with grass slippers
4. Persimmon-juice dyed shirt and shorts - the one given by Choo Sung Hoon in Jeju that they wore when they stayed overnight in a village
5. Korean Scouting uniform when they went on their 2nd camping trip
I do love their other costumes - tap dance, little scientists when they had a school trip, little mermaid, three little pigs, and I just saw pics of them looking like little explorers for the trip to the monkey village.

Omo, Song appa truly is very creative. I always look forward to the scenario he comes up with each week. He's an actor after all, so he is introducing his sons to as many circumstances as possible. Of course we also know that he would like to have a daughter or daughters as well. I never get tired of seeing SIG and his adorable triplets each week, because SIK can come up with so many fun and learning adventures for his children, which allow them to grow and adapt to situations. We know that Manse is a free spirit who is willing to try anything. He's a swashbuckler, he's an adventurer, a born-ham, a gracious young boy and a noona-killer to boot. Daehan is dependable, gentle, shy and very close to his dad, but he seems to follow his own drumbeat. I think he is a dreamer. Minguk on the other hand is precious. He's such a happy child, very smart, attentive, resourceful and follows directions carefully. Like some of you said, he's an old man in a young boy's body. Both Minguk and Daehan are neat-freaks, though Minguk is on a higher level than Daehan. This lovable boy shows his emotions easily because he's the sensitive one. During the camping trip, he did not mind wading in the shallow brook, not even noticing that his clothes are getting wet. Yet when he stumbled thus getting all of his shirt wet, he cried because he got his clothes soak.
I also love the time they spent eating. I do not see it as just plain eating, because it is an adventure, a chance to taste and learn about different foods in Korea, which gives the children (as well as us, the viewers) a new learning experience each week.
Program ratings dip and soar. That's the nature of the industry. While a percent drop could translate to several hundred viewers, we cannot expect the ratings to remain constant, since there are times when viewers want to see other shows that are interesting at the time. It's just like some dramas that for international viewers are not too appealing yet have considerable audience share in Korea and there are dramas that appeal highly among international viewers that are almost ignored in Korea.

It is really difficult to think up of fun scenarios with just one kid that is why Sarang's portion is getting stale. Just look at Ji On and her dad. While they go to different places like the other kids, there is only so much interaction you can get from a little girl who cannot yet make conversation that much. The twins are at the age when they are more active and exploratory and they have each other and their dad to interact with, which makes for variety. On the other hand, there are many outstanding things you can see and learn from the triplets. Song appa does research for the places he can take this sons to and what they could learn in the process. It is not only the kids who are learning new things, he likewise learns, being city-bred. We likewise learn a lot from them. He and his wife are super parents. I always look forward to their activities because they are very different from the other families, and the triplets are truly amazing. Manse never fails to amuse with his cheekiness, but he's one caring kid as well. Daehan is still shy around other people but he's talking more these days and is always the hyung, although there are times that Minguk acts like the hyung. And Minguk never fails to amaze, with his sweetness, his love for singing and dancing and his intellect. And when he's on an errand, he does not get distracted, except by food and bugs. He follows instructions very well and he is such a resourceful kid. Remember him asking a store clerk where to find the dates?
Who would think that at his age he would recognize King Sejong. It reminded me of a scene in Rooftop Prince when the guys from Joseon bowed when they saw the king's image on a paper bill. And he sure has a good memory, memorizing the stories from their nursery books and replaying them, and he even talks like an older person, and capable of changing the tone of his voice, even, I learn a lot from them and I teach them to my granddaughter so I am very thankful for Song Appa and his triplets. ♥ ♥ ♥

I agree with you @justsomegirl, two sets of twins and a baby brother has lots of potential. However, since the first set of twin girls were born in 2007, they are 8 years old now (Korean age) so they might not come into the picture. Maybe the other set of twin girls and the baby brother. Still, it would be great to see how the family copes with them. An only child could already be a handful, as we can see from Sarang and Ji On. Double the struggle for Hwi Jae and his twins. But I do have very high regard for Song Il Gook for continuing to manage his triplets, and they are all happy, healthy and smart. I do keep in mind the things I learn from his parenting techniques. And like most of you, I would like to see more of the triplets.

It's really enjoyable and educational as well to see the triplets getting exposed to a lot of adventures. They can already remember these fun activities their father is introducing them, too. Kudos to the triplets' parents for raising their children to be happy, loving, caring, healthy, intelligent and well-mannered. They know how to care for each other, including their parents and they care for other people as well.
When Minguk is not singing or eating (which I love to see), he looks very dignified and intelligent when he's quiet. The way he stares and concentrate on whatever is happening in front of him shows how intelligent he is, making you think that he is processing all the information he's gathering and committing them to memory. And in various angles, he's looking more and more like his father. Manse is so lovable as well, with his humor, laid-back style and his free spirit, but within him is the essence of being a Song child, as he shares most of the characteristics we see from his two brothers. Daehan is so mild-mannered, with a stubborn streak. He's still a bit shy with strangers, though. I love the fact that he's getting talkative now, but Minguk is still tops. It was fun seeing Manse singing Rudolph, The Red-Nosed Reindeer with Minguk providing ad libs.
Ji On is learning more words now and is beginning to talk more. She's such a cutie. I know she's a girl but I don't want to see her wearing long skirts, because it hampers her walking and taking part in activities. Just like in the episode when she rode a donkey. Her long skirt rode up to her thighs, anyway. Why not dress her in cute shorts and shirts? She's got some pretty nice leggings, too. I find some of her blouses in a style that is not fit for toddlers. They make her look way older than her actual age. She's bigger and taller than kids her age, so she already looks older in terms of body size.
The twins are still the wacky duo. Love the fact that Seo Un is talking more as well, although I think it would be beneficial to his development if his father talks to him more (at least during their segment) so he will be encouraged to talk more, I also do not like the fact that Hwi Jae always asks his twins about whom they like more - dad or mom. There should never be a question about that, since they are a family. It's not like they are living separately and the kids have to choose whether they have to live with mom or dad. It should be mom AND dad, not mom OR dad. That's not good parenting. He's done it in the last two episodes, I believe, and it seems he's done that in the past. I remember reading about Tablo getting a lot of flak from netizens when he kept on asking Haru whether she likes mom or dad more.

I agree with @tiendoank. I would greatly love if the triplets could stay longer in the show. For one thing, I watch RoS for them. They are not only cute and active but very smart, well-behaved and lovable. Song Il Gook and his wife should really be praised for raising their children to be happy, healthy and intelligent. It is difficult to raise one child, as we can see from Uhm Tae Woong's struggles with Ji On. Twins make it double the effort and triplets means tripling the effort or more. Their type of parenting is really commendable. Daehan, Minguk, Manse have different personalities and it is difficult for parents to cater to each one, but Il Gook manages. There's no favoritism shown. He disciplines them without needing to raise his voice, patiently guides them to do things right, and gives them the freedom to explore. He's always there when they need him and slowly takes their fears away. I love the scenarios he comes up with so that his kids will have all kinds of experiences. Plus, the dad is a fashionista and I always look forward to seeing what the triplets would be wearing in the next episode - it is like watching out for seasonal fashion items :). Even the costumes are right on. That means he puts so much effort with research and goes out of his way to buy the right stuff. He's very artistic and creative.
Of course CF offers will come, because the kids are adorable and they are popular. International fans get to see these CFs and their photos through this forum. Some of the members here might think that there's a flood of them - but this is due to the number of international fans who keep posting their adorable pictures and videos (a big thank you to all of you). Otherwise, how will we know? Not all of us here live in South Korea or has cable TV to see broadcasts from other countries (with TV ads shown). As he said during an interview, his kids' talent fees go to their educational fund. That's being realistic. An average family will have a difficult time sending one kid to school. So just imagine sending three kids (at the same time) to school. It's a financial drain.
While Sarang lives in Japan, she is more popular in Korea because of the show. She may have CFs in Japan, but we seldom (if ever) see it posted for international fans to see. She does CFs in Korea as well. Lee Hwi Jae's twins have CFs as well, some with their mom and some by themselves or with their dad (I suppose), but because there are less fans interested in posting/sharing them, we seldom see those videos and photos. What I am trying to say is that the triplets have more fans, that is why we see so many pictures and videos being posted.
The triplets' popularity contributes to how the segments for the show are arranged. Initially the show opens either with Ji On or the twins, then Sarang, then the triplets, then back to the first three. The last segment is usually the triplets. This is because if you start with the triplets, viewers might leave the show after their segment is finished. By putting them somewhere in between and in the end, the viewers have to wait for them thus causing them to watch the show in its entirety. That's the way I see it.

@chellsee Daehan looks so charming in those photos. What can I say, Minguk looks handsome, even when he's in serious mode. He looks like a very attentive and serious student there. Manse-ah, you look really cool, without a care in the world. These three are very happy children.

The triplets surely are very handsome and you can see some features of each one of them in each other. And they have grown so much. Minguk is looking more and more like his daddy. Manse has the thickest hair, but it seems coarser and darker. Daehan's hair is finer and not as thick as Manse's. Minguk's hair is the finest and possibly the softest. But you can see that he's got long sideburns like Chun Jung Myung.
Ji On is a big girl. It seems like her mom already has a hard time carrying her. It looks like she's just slightly smaller than Sarang who is older by two years.
The twins are very active. Will Hwi Jae get his wish of seeing his sons as active sportsmen?- 1
-
Sarang, the twins and the triplets have grown so much in front of our eyes, and they and their parents have achieved so many milestones together. Sarang's dad is so adept at making his daughter laugh and be comfortable while learning and experiencing new things.
Hwi Jae has lost so much weight but can afford to relax a bit as Seo Eon and Seo Jun are better able to play together, eat unaided and not too demanding of his attention. Those two have very distinctively different characteristics and traits. Seojun looks like he'll be as good looking like his uncle. Seo Eon looks like his dad, and he walks like his dad as well.
It is admirable how Daddy Il Gook manages to take care of his triplets. I admire his methods to discipline his kids and the way he teaches them. I also admire his keen eye for fashion, always dressing his kids smartly and beautifully. All of them, including appa looked gorgeous in that matching black and white checkered shirts they wore in one episode. It's now spring in Korea and pretty soon we will get to see the kids in regular shirts, not bundled up like cute little bears. For me, although Minguk eats a lot, he does not look chubby. He definitely weighs more than Daehan because Daehan is a picky eater, but when you see him play without the jacket and sweater, he's almost the same size as Daehan. Manse has always been the smallest but he's also growing up fast but he's not yet outgrown his habit of doing his suckling motion with his lips and cheeks and playing with his ear while eating.- 1

In the previous episode, when Appa Il Gook was showing the dinosaur book to the triplets, it was Minguk who was able to name all the dinosaurs in the book, with correct pronunciation, and their dad was so surprised. in the interview he even confirmed that Minguk is the same as his mom at that age, as confirmed by his in-laws. Not to slight Daehan because I love the triplets and the twins, but he got his answers wrong, and Manse, well, he's Manse.

Saengil chuka to the two very cute and lively twins - Seo Eon and Seo Jun <:-P
Advanced birthday greetings to my favorite triplets - Daehan, Minguk, Manse! :x
Hoping that you will continue to entertain us and be our inspiration each week.
Praying that all of you will grow up strong, healthy and happy.

In some of the images @phetbeo uploads, you can see some similarities among the triplets in some angles. In the images where Minguk was eating fishcake, you can see his resemblance to Daehan. In another, you can see similarities with Manse. However, they have quite distinct features, if you look at them individually, but as they grow before our very eyes, you can see how Minguk is getting to look more like his appa.
Even if Minguk is a big eater, he does not look rotund. He's definitely heavier than Daehan and he's stronger than Daehan and Manse but he's as active as them. I think they will be enjoying more taekwondo sessions, if the first visit was anything to go by. I am a fan of the triplets and it is evident that Minguk has a very good memory and he's able to pronounce words better. He clearly pronounced taekwondo and he was the only one to say his dad's full name. And identifying those dinosaurs...simply w-o-w and they are just turning three in a few days (western age). I wonder how they are going to celebrate their birthday. -

Daehan is such a lovely kid, but he's usually quiet and for production value, you cannot show portions of Daehan when he is not speaking or interacting because if the PD does that, people will complain that there is nothing happening, waste of film, airtime, etc. There's focus on Daehan when he's animated, like when he was happily dancing in Sarang's house, when he was crying during the dinosaur park visit, when he's being the good, obedient brother that he is, etc. So it has to be balanced, and they choose scenes with the other kids when they are actively participate. Just my two cents.

Just my observation. The one who's rude was Ha Yeon. How dare she accost the Crown Prince for not greeting her or registering her presence. Who is she? Even ministers who are older than the CP do not call his attention if he passed by them without acknowledging them. They may plot against him, but they always bow their heads as a sign of respect. I may have missed it, but it seemed like she did not even bow her head to the CP when she went in the garden. Okay, she was chosen to be his wife, but it still does not give her any right to demand attention anytime she likes. Her becoming the chosen wife was not something that the CP wanted. She wanted that to happen, big time. Since the first time she graced the screen, she was already rude. She demands to be treated like a lady although she does not act that way. She was like that until she learned that the guy she met a few times was the CP. Then her demeanor changed, she was tweetums all of a sudden. But her smile is too fake for me to believe that she's sincere. The CP is good at reading a person's character. He already knew what's her agenda from the start, especially when she orchestrated those "fated" meetings. He knows she's insincere. She is
infatuatedobsessed with his handsomeness, just like the little princess who fell in love with the beautiful face of the character played by Im Shi Wan in TMTETS. I don't think Yoon Sung will even consider her as wife material even if he's not in love with Ra On. There was no spark the first time they met. To think that YS is more traveled and worldly than the CP and he's an artist who likes to draw women.
