  1. I finished this drama a few weeks ago. it's just so good. It has topped my favourite cdrama list. I wanted to know what's next so I just purchased the books, without really realizing I only bought the first 5 of 20 xD. My chinese is crap so maybe i'll just see how the first 5 goes. However, I also started reading some reviews and it sounds like... Fan Xian is much nicer in the drama. . Oh well.

I had an inkling after I saw the Saintess that the source material might be a harem, then I saw the tags on novelupdates. lol. I should be used to this, as a former (?) anime fan.

Aww. I'm reading the past posts and it sounds like Xiao Zhan won't be revising his role? TBH he was my carrot into this show, but it was so good, so even if I didn't see him, until the end, I didn't mind. And TBH his character was a bit... :unamused:. lol. Ah I believe he filmed JOL while doing the untamed because it was mentioned in one of those BTS videos of the untamed (might be a fansubber).

There are trolls every where. And it is known that people get payed to taint dramas, actors and fandoms in china. You just have to learn to ignore them.

All that said there is some issues with the production, so I understand some of the complaints or criticism.

and @weirdnshort I don't get why they do this in dramas and movies, It really doesn't make any sense. It had made more sense if they were running and ZF was hitting and questioning XY. Although maybe they would end up at the barn to fast for it all to have time to take place.

Yes! I wish... I wish they did that scene (Ep. 13 spoiler)

    Spoiler

of Ah Fei punching Xie Yun underground, after they got away

    It's cute but, this is

    Spoiler

why the other guy had to die.

    If they just ran...

    Spoiler

that guy with one hand would still be with them.

Story wise it’s following the novel more or less. There are some changes not nothing too crazy. My issue with the show is the weird pacing in some episodes. Like the forced romantic scenes when they were running for their lives. I mean there are time for cute scenes but not when the enemies are about to catch up lol.

oh this is starting to bug me right now.

Did they stop and chit chat when they were running in the novel?

  4. I just finished ep. 12. I find it enjoyable, the only problem is, I think they have too many characters, so it makes the plot kinda thin.

I'm enjoying watching the leads act with each other. It's so cute.... and Yibo's smiles/winks are deadly to me.

Anyways, I created a family relationship chart because there are just so many characters. I tried making it spoiler free, but it might spoil some people's experience.

Feel free to correct me if you find an error. I decided to put the techniques in the character's profile because there are so many @_@.

I'm watching it at viki's pace so it should be a lot slower than you guys who are watching it elsewhere.

  5. The Fei couple won fan favourite awards recently for two different dramas, which happened to by my first two favourite cdramas (The Story of Minglan and Gank Your Heart)

I can't remember where I've watched the video - but they were cute interacting with each other - couldn't decide who should speak first.

Ah me too, because of the leaks, i also picturize Shi Mei as Chen Yao, since the description of Shi Mei also white beautiful soft spoken, really she is Chen Yao. And of course Leo and Arthur also very fit with the description as Chu Wan Ning and Mo Ran.

There are so many heart breaking moment in this novel, so many misunderstood, indeed they both are wronged. But yes the romance parts are sweet, i cant believe they are exist between two man sigh... They are just too sweet! Even just a simple action like holding an umbrella, my heart melted! Really meatbun has messed our heart!

I havent read MDZX novel, but i have watched The Untamed, i found it quite scary at some scenes (i have a puppy heart yes lol), but still acceptable. I dont know how they will show Ta XianJun when he rules the world with blood, hmm maybe it will be like when Wei WuXian did the suicide from the cliff, dark and red clouds with blood everywhere, ghotic theme. Well they still has to follow the rules to pass the censorship.

Because it wasn't scary enough, I would only watch the Untamed when it was dark outside and - with minimum lighting. lol the only episodes I was scared was in coffin town/Yi City (which is so awesome).  I personally don't mind the romance between the two guys - I actually kinda like it than some of the romance I've read/watched with straight couples. I felt like some of that connection was missing in the Untamed (I just finished that drama last month and haven't read the novel either), which is understandable because of the censorship.

However, reading 2HA... the romance is a key part of the novel. Don't really know how they'd exclude it, without ruining the story.

I have started to read this on April, but not in a very serious mode, and after i continue to read in serious mode, i am hooked, now i am on chapter 130. Really the scriptwriter has a very difficult job for adapting this novel without ruining it, i think almost every chapter has gore and intimate scenes. Of course i skipped all the BL part, still hard to accept it though... But it really a very good novel! Quick plot and always focus on main characters. They should get a very high quality of CGI to make all the things alive. Finger crossed!

One more thing, they also changed Ye Wang Xi character into a girl. Dont know why.

I'm only on chapter 50 - so I haven't been introduced to Ye Wang Xi yet. Interesting. they changed another character. Now that I got further into the story, I really don't mind Shi Mei as a female. I could totally picture Shi Mei as one (it really helps that they used the name "Mei")

Yes... haha yes there's plenty of gore and scenes where Mo Ran is trying to figure out his feelings for CWN, which aren't exactly PG. looooool.

I've watched the Untamed (by the same production company (?)) - and I didn't find the gore that scary at all. lol. They used super bright red blood, which I find very jarring and wished they'd have made those scenes more scarier (with the use of music, darker lighting). They're probably going to go with that same tone.

I find some of the romance parts sweet and I feel so sorry for Chu Wan Ning. Chu Wan Ning is my favourite character - I just want to give him a hug T_T.

So far this is my favourite  heart breaking quote from the novel (spoiler alert for those that haven't read it):

    Spoiler

"When Shi Mei died, Mo Weiyu disappeared from the world...

When Chun Wan Ning died, Mo Weiyu no longer knew what the world was anymore. "

Arthur looks so good as Mo Ran... I can't believe he's only 20 >_<

I've read so many good reviews of this drama..but i am not into BL. Is there anyone out there who loves this drama even though they weren't exactly into BL stuff from the get go?

I wasn't either. I even watched it occasionally with my mom - and she has no idea to this day that it was BL. It's not a full blown romance and I think it's subtle. It's more about bromance in the drama version.

  9. Broke up with my bf yesterday...I probably should have broken it off a while ago, as things always felt off. But I because of the lockdown and time on my own, I think it helped me realize I am happier by myself. We're just not suitable for each other. It was hard for me to call it quits, as I felt some unexplainable guilt about the whole thing. However, now that I have, my friends and family all seem to support me, which makes me a bit teary, more so than the end of a relationship. My mind was a bit of a mess yesterday... but I think now, I have a better understanding of myself and what I want in life.

  10. Just started this over the weekend as I was in Wang Yibo withdrawal from "Gank Your Love" (which is a really good drama by the way).

    I'm on Ep. 17 now.

I tried watching this a year (?) a few months (?) ago, yet couldn't get into it as I was not familiar with cultivation, Xianxia at that time - I still don't know it but I've been reading some translated cnovels in the meantime since the lockdown (while procrastinating on my online courses XD).

It was still very confusing for me, but I was motivated. They really don't explain much in the first 3 episode just dive you right into the story...

Anyways, Wang Yibo is so stoic in this drama. Honestly I would have thought it was due to lack of experience, but I've seen him in Gank Your Heart...where he behaves more like a normal human XD.

I like that there's a bit of action, a bit of mystery. There's definitely some bromance in this one. lol

So at work, I'm looping the song "Bu Wang" by Wang Yibo on Spotify. I think this is my favourite one from the OST. This song is quite sad... but it's so beautiful. I am imagine that the normally stoic Lan Wanji is very lonely (and drunk from Gusu’s Emperor’s Smile) and is singing this by his lonesome self under the moonlight... missing his good old friend Wei Ying :bawling:

This probably have been posted before, but this is probably my favourite video of Wang Yibo singinging Bu Wang:

  11. Elders Scroll Online. I think I've had an account since the beginning. I was on hiatus for a few years and got into it again.

Currently playing Templar (trying to be a healer, but I have DPS skills too), Nightblade (Stamina) (love looting), Nightblade (Magika) - I might delete this character... I made a weird combo.  I find this quite easy to play - easier than Skyrim  but yet still fun. My favourite thing to do in this game is to steal things and be a dragon hunter.

I might get FFXIV when the free trial cap goes up to level 65. I had a Playstation account but I prefer ESO so I kinda stop. I might start over on the PC and play it casually

I'm a crappy gamer. I just play for fun... I mostly solo MMORPGs (because none of my IRL friends play with me) and because I got yelled at years ago in a dungeon, attempting to be a "healer" but didn't have the right skills. I tried a dungeon again 2  months ago (FFXIV forced me to) and it's really not bad and is fun.

On my list to finish: Witcher 3, Skyrim (I doubt I'd ever get to this, but playing in VR is pretty good), Persona 5,  FFXV

  12. Since this is a kpop forum. I'm just curious if anyone knows. (Why) are they still filming kdramas? I'd think they'd also be socially distancing, since there's quite a few cases in SK as well.

I like my kdramas, but I think they should be on a hiatus for everyone's health and safety. Perhaps the broadcasters should use this opportunity and do reruns of previously hit shows.

  13. I hope everyone safe. I have been catching up to my kdramas (during my lunch hours). It feels weird watching dramas of people walking around the streets. I miss going outside and I think I got a bit cranky staying at home. I'm lucky that I live in a city where...there is plenty of space and the population is not dense. I'd hang out in my backyard but it's still full of snow.

I'm also lucky that I think my job is pretty safe... I feel sorry for those that are unable to go to the grocery stores or get food.

    I miss the fresh air!

  14. I watched the first two episodes. I love the production. It has a magical feel to it, and transitions seem seamless. I think Lee Dong Wook would be a scene stealer (I'm very surprised he accepted a second lead role) . Yoo In Na's character is hilarious...

I saw the Quebec City scenes <3 I was fortunate enough to have visited this city years ago. They were filming in the tourist trap area, in Old Qubec (http://www.quebecregion.com/en/quebec-city-and-area/old-quebec/). I am planning to go back and these scenes make me want to visit it more.

  15. Hello, I'm a new fan (like really fresh - I don't even know how many members there are in this group. hahah) I just heard the song "Blood Sweat and Tears" and find myself youtubing them...I think I'm going to buy their album. Then I saw that there's  a "Wings" version...with 4 CDs on Yesasia. What is that? http://www.yesasia.com/global/bts-vol-2-wings-w-i-n-g-version-4-disc/1053553633-0-0-0-en/info.html

Any other songs you recommend? Besides "Blood Sweat and Tears" I like "lost" "lie" and "stigma" the most in this album. I haven't searched for their previous songs yet.

EDIT: OH. it's actually 4 CDS.

  16. Ahhh we have a drama thread. I didn't realize we had one (I was previously in the movie thread).

I just started this drama a few days ago (I'm up to ep. 11 now) . I love RPG games (I'm not really a mmorpg fan - the only online games I played are guild wars and now i'm playing elderscroll online) so this I really liked the whole idea that gamers are the central characters of this drama. The kdrama "Lucky Romance" also featured games as a plot device but...that was more about developing games, rather than playing them. It's fun watching the actors act in the game world. It's kinda like how I feel when I play games...that I'm sucked right into that fictional world.

I like the characters of this drama. I like that Bei Wei Wei is so composed, yet not absorbed with her looks. She seems humble too. I think the actress was a bit on the skinny side, but she's decent and her acting fits the character.

Yang Yang. wow that guy is so . Yeah he's a bit young (for me lol) but such an eye candy. I can't tell if he's a bit stiff cuz of his character or if that's his acting. But when he smiles...I just swoon. hahahah. He certainly looks very "god like" and is a major draw of why I continue to watch it. Xiao Nai - is a bit too perfect in my opinion. But is so swoon worthy <3. I'm like his fangirls squealing when he was on the screen. hahaha.  I like this dorm mates... they seem like they'd be fun to hang out with.

I'm not a huge fan of Cao Guang. He comes off whiny and clingy. To me, that's not very attractive...if the girl says no, get the hint. yesh.

I read somewhere (was it here?) that there is a game like Dreaming of Jianghu in real life? I wish it was in English (or that my Chinese was better :( ) Now I feel like playing a Chinese historical game :P

  17. This drama is so fun. To be honest, I wasn't expecting much from it. The first 2 episodes got me laughing so hard that I was tearing up. I like the fact that they're kinda friends. I have to say I'm a bit disappointed with the big...reveal at the end of the the second episode. Only because I like the whole tease....well if they keep it light then I'll still be happy. Park Bo-gum is a pretty good actor. I liked him in "I Remember You" (he freaked me out in there). I really enjoy watching his expressions. Kim Yoo-jung is a delight in her role. I hope they keep this up.
