^__^ no, I'm pretty sure she can see through both,
She was probably only blind in one eye.
SB was totally blind and now can see through only her right eye, which has Nayong's cornea.
We know this because in an early episode, when talking with the friend who took her money, she said she had never seen Dr. Kim Nayong's face before. Dr. Kim Nayong was the attending physician who took care of SB all the while she was waiting for a donor. She was also the person who comforted SB when SB was stressed out enough to call the hospital to rant and rave about the non-progress in finding a donor.
I think the confusion comes from subtitles in the early episodes where SB's speech always talked of her having Kim Nayong's "eyes" (regularly using the plural noun).

I see what you mean, but is HS really worth it enough for her to deal with his family? If she marry him, she will have to deal with demon family and his mother will ALWAYS interfere. She's better off with TP.
I know the formula calls for SB to end up with HS, but right now HS is not worth the trouble. The writers have made HS out to be an indecisive character, without the sensitivity to make him endearing. Some of that is probably due to the actor's inability to convey subtle emotions through expressions and body language. The quick flip-flop in his decisions about his love life is all due to the writers.
Kim Nayong --> SB is understandable because Nayong is dead.
SB --> Soobin after the family meeting debacle, even if only because of his mother's push, is irresolute.
Soobin? --> SB up till episode #35 is weak, considering the lack of effort he spent.
SB? --> Soobin?... even after SB's rejection, just shows that HS lacks depth in his character.
I agree with a previous poster that HS needs to show some backbone. He hasn't pushed for anything to go his way from the beginning of the series til now. I thought he would be a stronger character from what I saw in the first meeting with Soobin in the plane and cab. Further development in the series just shows his actions to be learned responses to set situations, without really revealing any depth to his character.
But hey... the writers have kept us interested in this wishy-washy character. That's success for any drama... and this one has averaged 20%+.
I don't think SB's rejection is because she feels she doesn't deserve him. She likes him, but the importance of that feeling pales in comparison to what she feels for Nayong's family. Growing up as an orphan has made "family" the most important treasure in her life. She would value her growing attachment to Nayong's family much more, and would rather put her efforts into nurturing that growing relationship.

Rofl I want to see KBSW's version of this drama too. To be honest, from the stuff that I've seen KBSW sub, rofl the translations aren't accurate and they usually leave a lot out. I don't know personally, I feel that SoShiSubs is doing a great job of keeping up with YAMD, esp since it's like 160 episodes done, even though I hardly touch the project, I know the translators and all the subbers work really hard to get the episodes out asap. (And I don't think I've seen a subbing squad finish a whole daily drama before?)
I agree that Soshi-Subs have done a fantastic job at great speed. I suspect that KBS World's subs would be inferior in accuracy and completion from the work I've seen on "Likable or Not" and "High as the Sky, Wide as the Earth". I merely wish to see the differences to see how subtle connotations are handled.
The English language does not handle the respective tones naturally. Relationship terms does not translate well. I like comparing different translations to see how these are done by different teams.
I liked the subs where terms like "oppa", "hyunh", "unnie", "noona", "noonim", "dongsaeng", and others are used with sidenotes giving the definitions and cultural context.
Soy, I understand that you're of Vietnamese heritage. I'm sure you've heard from native speakers of Vietnamese like myself that accurate translations of cultural contexts are usually not possible. That's why I'm learning Korean, but that's pretty slow for an old fogey like me.
You and your Soshi-Subs team have done a great job. You can safely compare yourselves to best fan-subbing team out there, the WITH-S2 subbing team.

According to both SoshiSub's and KBS World's subtitles, when Tae-young and his father are talking in EP002, the father mentions a little brother who was drowned.
Does anyone know where the KBS World's version of the subtitles can be found? I love the subtitling work done by SoshiSubs, but I suspect the translations made by them may be a little "young". I would like the opportunity to compare the two versions.

So Hose's mom knows that Hose was about to have a relationship that is more than "just friends" w/ Na Young? Did she already know that Na Young is from a poor family? And why does Taepoong have such animosity towards Hose? Did they have some conflict when they were younger?
Sorry for all the questions, I only watched ep. 1 and then I skipped to ep. 16.
Sorry. Silverwingz already addressed these questions in post #1101.
Please consider this an addendum.
Hi,
HS's family have known Nayong's family for thirty years. Nayong's father was HS's father's driver for 30 years. Nayong's mother worked as a maid/cook in HS's home for a number of years. HS, Nayong, & TP were classmates for most of their academic careers.
You should check post #1 of this thread for basic relationships in the drama.
There is a series of pretty decent recap of the drama episodes on www.kpopit.com. Check for posts by kpopit for links to specific episodes.
You can catch up on the whole series on YouTube with English Subs on the Soshisubs channel. The original HQ versions can be found at the Soshified Forums. Soy's posts on this thread will give you the links and information on how to join the forum (you need to have 50 posts to download the HQ English Hardsub episodes).
Hope that helps.

Hey guys,
The only person who knows that HS was going to propose to Nayong is her brother TY. HS told TY that when he went to the academy to confirm Nayong's death after he was told that the donor consent form was signed by her father and brother. HS's family only knew that he planned to "become more than friends" with Nayong. The rest of Nayong's family suspected that HS's feelings for Nayong was deeper than that of friendship after they received the consolation package from him... and seeing that he found out what happened to Nayong before anyone else other than her father and brother (TY). Soobin and her family hadn't an inkling of any relationship other than that of employer/employee and schoolmates between the families because of their class bias and distant relationship with Nayong's family.
I think the HS character is written to be stiff and indecisive in non-professional relationships, so I am not too disappointed with that actor's performance. The real test of his skills as an actor will come as the drama's plot line develops further. My guess is that his character is supposed to grow and mature because of the catalytic effect of SB's appearance in his life. My only real complaint is that HS is not captivating... and I'm not sure whether that is due to lack of acting skills or intentional characterization to provide room for growth.
I found the TP character captivating from the beginning to now. I read somewhere that the actor wanted this role to be different from his typecasting as a handsome rich boy (his previous roles were like the HS character). I think he really rose to the challenge and is very successful in playing this role. I like the way he plays this character and the character itself much more than what he did in "Hello Miss".
My favorite character here is YoungSook. I hope the actress gets the chance to show off the full range of her acting skills. I loved the character she played in last year's "High as the Sky, Wide as the Earth".
I love Korean dramas, but I wish they would break the formula and actually make the "evil" characters suffer their just deserts later on. It feels unsatisfying to see only the protagonists, like SB here, suffer through most of the drama.

Here's another Thank You to Skyeler,
You are great at getting the HQ YAMD episodes to us so fast.
Sorry you have copyright issues and had to stop uploading to your channel on Veoh.

I don't know anything about KBS WORLD schedules.
You can watch English Subbed "You Are My Destiny" on YouTube thanks to the wonderful work of Soshi-Subs fansub group. You can also download HQ version from their forum at http://soshified.com/forums/ after you have registered and have made 50+ posts.
Skyeler (Skye824 on Veoh) has uploaded HQ unsubbed episodes 001-023 to Veoh. Just search for "You Are My Destiny". He has also made available MegaUpload links for episodes 24...28 in this thread. Just search through the last 4 or 5 pages (i.e. pages 39-43).
I hope this is helpful.

I think it would be better if SB becomes a member of the family as a daughter & sister, not as a bride. TP's acting is better than HS, but I'd like him to become an outstanding individual in this drama as a brother to HS, and shove the fact in HS's arrogant mom's face. Make HS's mom come crawling to Daejin's house to beg for them to allow & encourage SB to date HS.
