Speaking of slapping I actually want to see Chaegyung slap SHIN!!! Who's with me?
Right here, buddy. I'm just waiting for it. Somebody has to get slapped soon or it's not a K-drama anymore. And Shin is the perfect one for it. In fact, I'd really like to see the Queen give him a good one too. Everybody gets a turn!!!!

Twenty-something pages ago, Telly (or maybe someone else? can't remember) posted a pic of Joo Ji Hoon and the monkey trio smoking, so I thought it'd be funny to point out Eun Hye's own colorful past.
Actually, it's from a BBVox music video. But still, it's different from what some (most??) of you have seen of her.
I think this is another subconscious reason why I'm not a Shin fan. Because contrary to lots of Goong'ers in this thread, I came to this show as a Baby VOX fan. They were my favorite group out of that whole late 90s, early 2000s Korean pop explosion, and Eun Hye was a member I always liked. Now, though, seeing her in Goong, she's so... TAME. It's like, I want my pop star back!!! The one who drank beer and danced beside hot guys in videos!!! Yeah.

yul: WTF, you didn't even ask how chaegyung felt about you. you've got all these plans to marry her and you haven't even thought about what she really wants in all this. what kind of friend are you? for that matter, what kind of husband would you make?
shin: you're just WTF all-around because of your caveman, hypocritical mindset. you can keep secrets and seek comfort but chaegyung can't, lest she be hit by your ever-present, idiotic desire to keep her by your side for amusement. all this nonsense about tradition and wives listening to their husbands. feminism happened, dude. read a history book.
hyorin: WTF, i don't care if the writers gave you a sob story and want to call it character depth, nothing excuses how vindictive you acted. spare me.
dowager queen/yul's mom: WTF, power corrupts the weak-minded and you are the poster child for it. and you have too many hair ornaments.

Enjoy, fellow Yul/KH fans! It isn't groundbreaking, and there are still spots that I look at and wince a little (Kang Hyun's hair, Yul's coloring is a little off, etc.) but ah well. I think I was just sooooooo ready to finish it that I didn't care anymore. Overall, took about 4 hours. Yeah, I'm a slow artist.
Last but not least, huge thank you to Loleia for the technical inspiration. She manipulated Harry and Ginny from Harry Potter on this ad (it's slipping my mind what brand name it is--CK, Ralph Lauren?) and I happened to see it a few months ago. I also use her brushes like crazy in my graphics.

ooh yes, he is QUITE fine. i think he looked and acted best when he was carrying hyorin out of school. before that, he was just a supporting character with a good line every now and then, but at that moment, he became a CHARACTER. i was like, you go, beetle!!

I have a quick question? I was just looking through this thread and I saw that some people ahve peoples of Yul and CG's freind together. Is there something going on between them? I haven't been able to keep up with this drama but is really curious about that. = D
it's yul and kang hyun, and we're a cult following.
there's nothing concrete going on between them, but there have been subtle hints here and there. we're just speculating. oh, and i like to manipulate in photoshop, so don't take every pic of them together as canon. -
I think it's the school trip, dear Goongers. And from the last pic posted by Angeline & jhessy, I think something went wrong with CG. She was outside, freezing I bet, and her friends looked kinda worried, kinda, and Kang In looked like he was shouting to someone. It's just an assumption, but I hope it's not using the manhwa... *horror*
a school trip to where, exactly? they all look pretty dolled up.

we figured people talk so fast here that it really is like a chatroom already. plus, we would have gotten lazy with upkeep.

eh k, just finished watching 16. if i conveniently practice amnesia and therefore conclude that episode 9 never existed, the first 10 minutes of 16 are incredibly pleasing to watch.
*will now restock memory* however, overall, this ep was more introspective. necessary story chores yet again, but it was done better than 12 and 13 were.
kang-in is fast becoming my favorite male supporting character. he looked so heroic carrying hyorin. i mean, i saw caps the whole week leading up to it but the live action moment was like *sigh*. i love how he looked at shin and cg and just sighed before walking on. it's like, "you people don't even deserve the grace of my voice." ooh! *loving it*
but on a picky note, the whole effect was less, um... effective. same story tool twice = MURDER. can a guy faint for once? just to shake things up.
random note: ji hoon was looking especially HAWT in hyorin's flashback when they're walking down that path. and this is ME saying this.
random note 2: um, technical laziness sighting. when shin and cg are in bed, the editing on "perhaps love" was ghastly. did anyone else's hands automatically go to their ears? wtf, sound editors, wtf.
hsinyi069, thanks for the behind-the-scenes pics! i always look forward to scenes that have yul and kang hyun both, even if they don't interact directly.

I'm not crazy about the rumored ending from that Chinese website either. I have enough trouble overlooking Yul and Shin as first cousins fighting over the same girl. If they turned out to be half-brothers, it would be,

Agreed. I think that's why I inherently liked Yul better from the start. It wasn't the character (still isn't) so much as it was the technicalities of KJH's better acting. *nod nod*
But I think the elders blow the young'ins out of the water completely. Especially the Queen, she's awesome. She's got that stare. *wiggles fingers dramatically*

does anyone else feel like all the characters are such an obvious one-dimensional product of their jadedness that no one feels genuine anymore?
imo, yul's evilness is the same tactic that gave hyorin a sob story. drama formula reigning yet again. they establish a character, establish what viewers THINK they know about that character, and then very purposely (and badly) write a 180 for the sake of gaining our instinctive sympathy (or hate) and they like calling it "depth." ack--
*stops before she pulls out her rhetoric and lit crit papers* this is what happens when i don't get yul/kh. grrrrrrrrrrr! *hits writers*

NEW FAST FORWARD: THE BEGINNING - Was it all just a dream? Chae Gyung gets a rude awakening and learns that at the end of it all, it's only the beginning.
And of course I threw in Yul/KH shipperness. All right, I'm off to watch 15 and 16. Y'all get some sleep, ya hear?!

it's probably a flashback of what they did after they first met at the train station. ho-toot seems to be wearing the same outfit.
if that's the case, then is the king yelling at shin also part of that flashback? i thought the newspaper pic looked like it had them in their bum clothes. then again, i wasn't looking *too* closely, but it definitely wasn't their thailand get-up.

haahaha, i thought of that too when i saw it! i'm all, dang, no wonder they're all so unhappy, all the men in this family just can't let go of their ex's. i hope shin's mom and chae develop a really sincere relationship because of their partially parallel stories.

is it because GOONG originally comes from a manhwa.... so the manhwa fans somewhat must be those who appreciate the Art and beauty of the manhwa drawings itself... *ponders*

wow, considering they were all kicking her butt in the ep 14, that pic jarred my universe for a second, hehe. i love casts that are good friends though, and it looks like all the goongers get along really well. yay ~

Gaaaaaaaah, I'm gone for a day and all this Yul/KH stuff just pops up outta nowhere!!! The directors are going for my placement theory again. Just look at that table. I love how everyone's making sure I see all the pics 'cause you know you all want more manips! ROTF, ok, ok.
A masquerade, huh? Interesting. I did have an FF planned out for Shin/Chaegyung dancing around in an empty ballroom. Dernit, I should have written it before all these previews came out!! Maybe I'll have to switch it over to Yul/KH now. *evil laughter* Or wait. Hyorin teaches Kang In some ballet. puahahahahhaha
