  1. Well, what can I say:neutral:...everyone sees what they want to see. I also watched the videos with Dilraba and Wu Lei and didn't see anything special there. But there's a fuss about something that isn't there. I even got bored watching these videos and turned on rewind. In short I don't understand how this can be compared to R and V.

The problem is that R and V don't appear together in the same scene. Therefore, how can we say that something happened to them or not. I don't really know who to blame anymore. Or maybe someone deliberately makes it so that they do not appear together, to avoid unnecessary rumors. In short, I do not know, but it is annoying, because we were already deprived of a lot.

When I heard that R would star in The Long Ballad, I was glad, because the description suggested something serious. I certainly didn't expect the drama to be on the level of The Rise of Phoenixes, but I did expect the drama to be as serious as The King's Woman.

It seems like they promised a strong heroine who would take the path of revenge. And in the end, I watch a girl who is constantly saved by the main character and everything is again reduced to romance. I'm tired of watching this. The drama stands as historical and in fact, since history is present here in one way or another, it could be turned into a good thing. I would even like to see a tragedy at the end, as in The Rise of Phoenixes and The King's Woman. But it's so obvious. In short, I am disappointed that this is not what I expected to see. I don't see a serious drama and she lost out in romance, because the second couple has become much more interesting and I'm more interested in their story. This is the second Dilraba drama that I can't finish watching. It's time for me to take a break, because the next two dramas are again RickRoll'D romance and again fantasy.

I was more surprised by Zhao Lu Si, who came out of light comedy dramas. That's when I saw her acting height, because it was very unusual to see her in such a role. Wu Lei is still young and improving in this drama, but I so wanted to finally see R in a serious drama.

In fact, you can also add the drama The Flame's Daughter and The King's Woman. R has exactly the same head position there. There is a very strong distance.

I mean, I've never seen a man so realistically carry a woman in his arms as in TMPOB and ELOD. This shows that R and V have a trusting and close relationship. They are always comfortable with each other.

I like Reba in Long Ballad. Her image and character. But the age difference is very noticeable. Wu Lei is similar to Reba's younger brother. This is noticeable both on the posters and in the drama.

Nah, a lot of dramas, especially period dramas, use voice actors to standardize because if you don't, you wind up with actors with different accents because they come from different places. The different accents are fine for modern dramas but it sounds really strange for period dramas. I remember Dilraba has used her own voice in a drama or two that I can think of, but TPB was not one of them. Her voice is much deeper.

Hmm, and in what specific dramas did Dilraba use her voice? It became very difficult to distinguish between the dubbing voices in different dramas. Sometimes it seems that the voices are similar, and sometimes they are not. I figured it out only when I watched various conferences and interviews of actors. When I watched the drama The Micro Era Of Love, then I realized that there was something wrong with the voices of R and V.

Ah, that's a little unfortunate, it's too bad AOL didn't come out before TMOPB and ELOD then. I was actually hearing that it was a bit like TMOPB and the cinematics seem pretty good. I do see the dragging on though, although that does seem to be pretty standard for Chinese period / fantasy dramas in general.

In fact, there is nothing wrong when the drama is slightly long.TMPOB very interestingly developed all the storylines, gave enough time to all the characters, without forgetting anyone. Although it is still impossible to forgive what they did with the history of DX and FJ, well, okay.

I read on a forum dedicated to AOL that the production required at least 50 episodes, and originally they were going to shoot 36. In addition, the author of the novel sympathized with absolutely not the main character. So the changes began. Everyone was deceived. Expectations were met, but not all of them.  The last time I read so many angry messages about the ELOD. The JX actress ruined many moments of the drama. Actually, I don't mind stretching the plot of the drama, but only if the main characters don't start to be neglected. We still watch their love story, and the secondary characters add an obstacle and intrigue. A drama shouldn't give them more screen time just to stretch the plot.

I watched and read AOL before ELOD. I really enjoyed AOL at the time, but if I read or watched it after ELOD, I think I would find it less captivating.

I feel exactly the same for AOL. I watched and read AOL before TMPOB. Then I looked at TMPOB and I liked it much more than AOL. Dynamic plot, lots of interesting storylines, because there were DX and FJ.

I liked AOL a lot more for the first half of the episodes, then it just started to stretch the plot and I turned on the rewind mode. I also noticed that I was starting to follow the other team. I liked the Runyu story. Oh, the censors would not miss such intimate dialogues between the main characters, as in the AOL book. It's so sad. I even wonder if the censorship missed the DX and FJ dialogue during the aphrodisiac. I do not mean actions, but a conversation about all the subtleties of making love.Oh RickRoll'D, they made me turn on the fantasy.

What I didn't like about the AOL drama: There were too many selfish acts of the main characters, which I condemned while continuing to sympathize with the other team. I didn't like that they came up with a secondary story that was just created to stretch the plot. The main character did not appear in many episodes. The plot stood still, the ending was unsatisfactory. The book has interesting epilogues about the further life of the main characters, many changes in the second half of the drama I liked less than in the book.

In any case, AOL and ELOD have become my favorite dramas along with TMPOB. But they also made me angry. AOL could have done everything right at least in the end, so many unnecessary scenes were taken for the second pair. ELOD I get angry at bad editing, cut scenes, excerpts from the script. Well, ELOD has a chance to redeem himself to the fans if they make a movie of additional chapters DX and FJ with the same actors. It's probably good that I watch the drama first, and then I start the book, so as not to be disappointed in advance. I prefer not to know what the main characters are going to experience. I also plan to do this with the story of Lian Song and Cheng Yu.

  6. I certainly did not read all the messages on the forum. I will say that I missed a lot of angry messages about rumors V and R with other people. It was too painful to read and I refuse to believe it in principle.

I don't really think so. that they've been dating since 2013. I think it's too fast, they just got to know each other after all. In addition, this is China, with their approach to serious relationships and even more so to marriage. So I think V and R built a trusting relationship and a strong friendship from 2013 to 2017. They also took care of each other.

I think they started dating in 2017. TMPOB and ELOD - this is the period when something already very suspicious happens. They became more reserved and serious. It's like they're hiding something.

It is clear that many people were already on edge in connection with the Tencent ceremony. A sudden lull in their relationship, all these rumors and their strange behavior to boot. But for me, it would be strange if they behaved at the ceremony as they did a few years ago. If this happened, everyone would definitely not be up to the award ceremony. On the agenda would be a question about these two. AGAIN!!! But some actors have long been aware of what is happening with V and R today.

They were also in the same building during the festival's Gala. And do you really believe that they never met or talked, just because there is no photo together? And why do we even think that there is no joint photo and they did not communicate that day? Why do everything for show? V and R are not the type to expose their relationship to the public. A few years ago, they were friends, they had nothing to hide, so they behaved openly, and you can add to this increased popularity.

I believe that they do not owe anyone anything, V and R are not obliged to disclose their relationship to the whole world if they do not want to. In the end, all these crazy fans, who are against them, will condemn them, etc. for them, in fact, no one.  Even if the whole truth eventually comes to the surface about the relationship between V and R, so what. They didn't do anything wrong, it's their own business, they don't have to report to a bunch of strangers.

It is likely that all the rumors that arose about them with other people, were V and R only on hand. While all this war between the shippers, the fans, and the anti-fans begins, they live their lives to their own satisfaction, enjoying each other's company. So to speak, they have diverted attention from their relationship, as fans are now trying to understand when, why these groundless rumors arose, what really happened to the relationship between R and V. Yes, in fact, V and R have not changed, but it is beneficial for them that everyone else thinks that something has gone wrong. And judging by some reports they are doing it well.

I admit that I miss the times when they appeared together on stage and starred together in dramas. I hope that in the near future we will be able to see them together again on the same stage, and I would like to see a new drama with them, I would like to see a modern one.

Do not despair and continue to believe in the power of our GuangRe.:)

Her character in AOL was more fleshed out. Very similar character. I did felt some sort of empathy for her AOL character but none for Zhi He.

I was amused by her character in AOL. She's not a typical annoying woman like Soo Jin, JH, and Zhi He. Maybe because in AOL, the main character was the most annoying. But her end at AOL was too sadistic, even for all her misdeeds. It would have been better if this outcome had been invented for JX, then I was more satisfied than this five-minute nonsense.

The funny thing is that the names of her heroines are similar. In ELOD, she is Zhi He, in AOL, her name is Sui He.

  8. Oh, those deleted scenes from the ELOD. I still suffer from "WITHDRAWAL SYNDROME". We were robbed and still haven't been paid for the damage. It is so annoying that there are dramas that simply do not need 50 or more episodes in the plot, but they drag and drag the plot, because money, money and money, and thus they spoil the film adaptations of the novels, forcing the audience to skip many scenes. And there are dramas that just can't do without 60 and 70 episodes. When their conscience wakes up and they decide to satisfy us furious fans who only sleep and see all the deleted scenes . :fear:When I watched the ELOD again, I began to see gaps and missing scenes in each episode.:cries:

  9. Hi everyone. I have been watching the forum for a long time, looking through the pages and reading many of the messages. At first, I noticed a strong chemistry between R and V in TMPOB. After watching the ELOD, I was already convinced that something was happening between them in reality. At first, I thought I was crazy, since I don't usually pair actors in real life. But then I started digging further and found various videos from conferences and shows where they are together and it became obvious that they are so close. Then I accidentally went to the forum and then everything became clear. HURRAY!!! I'm not crazy yet, and there are people who think the same way I do. I didn't even know they had such a history since 2013. So it all started when they were playing in the V-Love drama. The first sparks fly already from this dorama. And then everything gets stronger and burns with fire. Well, I do not believe that there is nothing between them.

I will say that I felt bad when I started reading about R's mating with other men, there was talk that V was married, which made it even worse.

There is a type of people who are unpleasant immediately at first sight Johnny Huang is just such a person. I don't want to say much about him here, but I wanted to say something. At first, I just didn't care who the new R drama was going to be with, and I didn't even know who JH was. I watched a lot of doramas with R and did not feel anything unusual, just interesting plot, looked and forgot. but after watching ELOD, I realized that I just can't watch any more other R dramas because it won't be as realistic as with V. So, at first, I didn't care that she was playing with this one.....But then I started to get annoyed with all these senseless rumors, I didn't like that JH apparently doesn't know how to treat women, it's not just about R, the situation with his ex-wife is shocking, it's what an insensitive jerk you have to be, that taking care of a drama that airs is more important, in addition, he also showed disrespect to the actress Wu Jin Yan on the filming of another drama.

The whole J and R drama was fake to me, I was probably disappointed with R for the first time. I don't believe it! All their smiles at each other are so fake and fake and cause only nausea. The eyes are empty and expressionless. So I didn't torture myself by watching this.... I had missed a lot of scenes with J before, I just didn't like watching him pretend. R wasn't real . She was trying so hard to fit in with this piece of RickRoll'D. Finally, she came out of this fake and became the same. Irritated by these senseless rumors about R and J, I see it is very profitable for him to climb up at the expense of R, and even joke that he wants to date her. IT'S JUST RIDICULOUS. And a terrible half of the fans want her to date this one......Are they really her fans? Or those who want to make her career came to an end? Just think, if he was a normal and respectful person, he wouldn't say it directly. R will never be with a lying and rotten person, she is above it.

It makes me laugh that R is being sent with YY. WHY? Now they'll send her out with everyone she's filming a drama with. She is currently filming a drama with Ren Jialun, so what are you waiting for, go ahead. Who will be next? . Sorry, what kind of fan nonsense is going on. I didn't notice anything between R and YY, I can even say that I even thought that they were somehow uncomfortable next to each other. They avoid each other, that YY, that R they look bored and indifferent. So everyone's freaking out about something that isn't there.

I looked at the Tencent ceremony from different angles, watching the reactions of different actors. I felt like R was under pressure, she didn't look happy, she had to put on a smile when she was on stage. All sat as it is free, without pressure, some actors communicated with each other, but not R. The reaction of V to R alerted me. He quickly changed his face, he apparently knew what was wrong with her, what she was thinking and going through. If they stopped communicating, why would V worry about R. Why would he care about R, especially if she didn't care. He will not be so humiliated, which means I think their communication continues and even more. I was horrified when I read all these insults against him. The question is why? Personally, I didn't notice anything unusual between him and the other women he starred in dramas with. He just treats them with respect and that's it.

I also wondered why V wasn't married or in a relationship with anyone. Although there were a lot of meaningless rumors. Only one thing comes to mind V likes only R, I have no other options. They used to be more open, it's true, but that's changed with the increased popularity. I do not see anything strange in the fact that there are no more mysterious messages or photos, you can congratulate on your Birthday on the phone, in personal messages or at a meeting, they do not need this show-off for everyone to see. This is their relationship and their personal business.

Excessive fan jealousy of R is just crazy. Yes, of course, on the basis of fans, her popularity is built, but isn't it her personal business with whom to be friends and meet. R and V are also people who have feelings and emotions. They met, felt sympathy and comfort next to each other, found a common language, talked, made friends and began to build relationships.

Sooner or later, R will get married, well, aren't these crazy fans going to be possessive until their and her old age. Normal fans will be happy for the happiness of their favorite idol. I find her claim of marriage and 3 children unrealistic. As noted earlier, it takes time, it will not happen only from your desire, given her career growth for the present day. She will definitely have one child, well, maybe two.  Actress Yang Zi is at the same age as R and approaches the issue of marriage more deliberately. So the statement to get married at 30 and have 3 children is unrealistic for R, (unless of course R and V have already secretly married, then in a year we will get unexpected news right in the forehead), add the stress of excessive, as well as future roles that she will receive.

That was a decision from last year to allow more dramas getting shown. If it's more than 40eps, it must have had the permit for more episodes before the rule was enforced. Given that dramas take months or even years before it is aired, this year and probably even until next year there would still be more than 40eps dramas. The more recently filmed dramas are mostly 40eps or less, unless perhaps the rules make an exception why it is more.

For Lotus Steps, if it is adapted for drama, two seasons would be better IMO. One each for mortal and immortals arcs, 30 to 40eps per season.

Thank you for explaining this nuance to me:). On the one hand, it's good that more dramas will be released, but on the other hand, some dramas, especially if they are filmed based on novels, require more episodes than the censorship and new rules allow.

4 volumes of the book for 40 episodes is very small, which means that global changes will be made to the plot. Yes, I also hope for 2 seasons, but this is such a rarity for Chinese dramas. Of great importance will be the budget invested in the drama and the consent of the actors for more than 1 season

And wasn't the reduction in episodes due to the fact that many dramas began to stretch the plot and add a lot of screen time to minor characters.

I'd love to see that, and their original outfits in the novel reproduced!

Speaking of Lotus Steps as drama, whoever produces it, if possible let it be two seasons of 40eps each. The novel is 4 volumes! There are just so many parts that might be lost if it is squeezed to 40 eps, unless the script would do away with unnecessary filler scenes.

What is the reason for the reduction of Chinese dramas to 40 episodes? This only applies to the drama is a fantasy or not? Last year and this year, there were dramas for 50 or 60 episodes. Can we hope that the Lotus Steps drama will release at least 50 episodes?

Xi Ze lives somewhere and is in seclusion. Qing Hua is the mother of Aranya and the present Queen, who had always hated her. It was not her uncle, it's Xiangli Que, her father, who eventually dies by his wife's machinations.

Whatever they were feeling, it will not be really proper for Shen Ye to admit to her how he really feels because first, Aranya is married, second, the Biyiniao has stringent rules in morality. Hence Junou was previously sentenced for execution and was only alive because Aranya's blood was used to drive back the winged white tiger. Even Qing Hua is considered unchaste since she was married for the second time to the murderer of her first husband and father of Junou.

They were supposed to be a fated couple but due to changes from when Su Moye took young Aranya as his ward, and then she getting married to the former Archmage Xi Ze, they can't be really together anymore.

The silence of Shen Ye stems from the Palace politics and how unfavoured Aranya really is from when she was born and even when the King was still alive. He can only work behind the scenes since he himself is closely watched. The day he learned Aranya died, Shen Ye book POV killed almost a hundred spies who tried to stop him going to the river.

Yes, Aranya is married, but I think she wanted Shen Ye to confess his feelings to her. Shen Ye also understood this. She even asked:You love me too, don't you, Shen Ye? Just one word from him would have been enough for her. She had hoped and believed to the last. Xijie wasn't even a barrier to their happiness, I don't think he would have minded if Shen Ye and Aranya had asked him for a divorce. I think Xijie helped them. But Shen Ye didn't say anything, and then it was too late.

Yes, I understand that the chance for them is lost. Fate intervenes and does not allow them to be together. Is all their actions and actions also influenced by fate? Their choice is also dictated by fate. The saddest thing is that Aranya never found out that he loved her, that he was the one who wrote the letter to Xijie and asked her to save her. She died thinking he hated her for making him her prisoner.

At least BQ will know what YX did to keep her alive. But Aranya would never be able to find out about Shen Ye's true motives again, nor would Shen Ye have the chance to tell her everything. Since their souls are now in the same tree, I hope they know the whole truth and find their happy ending.

Re: TMPB -to me one of the biggest failures/arrogance mistakes is how YH didnt put any protections on the mirror. to 1 only let him use or hear it. 2. add a come along spell so it stayed on his person.  Also why didnt he pick an out of the way place in the immortal lands to put BQ?  wouldnt have had the time constraint!  I had a little bit of a different perspective as I saw YH motivated by fear. TJ had been dictating so much of his life. That fear led him to not think clearly on things and there were consequences to that.  I think the 300 years of regret and choosing to be a good parent for A'Li helped him alot.

Re: ELOD  from the drama side. Yes Shen Ye should have TALKED to her even once or twice when they were younger. (He is an arch mage. and cant figure a way to do a simple anti-eaves dropping shield??!! So that he could explain why he cant let it be publicly seen as caring for her.) I only saw the drama but I really liked the scene after Feng Jui got the memoires and the two were going on the last days. and Shen Ye got all upset and was justifying his action in the paper his wrote and Feng Jiu calling him out and saying that it didnt matter. How was Ariana suppose to know and that there is a limit for every one.

Aside from what you listed in the TMPOB, I don't like that YX can't protect Su Su at least from Sujin. He knows what a RickRoll'D she is. YX doesn't even say anything. Why can't he stop Sujin from going to see his wife? He could have warned Su Su not to associate with Sujin, not to go anywhere with her. Or was it another of his defensive tactics? Very annoying.

Now the ELOD. Shen Ye stayed with Aranya many times during the day, I agree that it was possible to talk to her. How long did Shen Ye plan to play silent for? One could ask for Xijie's help after all. It was necessary to wait until Qing Hua, Aranya's uncle, died, and then what? During this period of time, Aranya's love could turn into hatred. As with Su Su in relation to YX. Here he thinks that he will become a crown prince or a Heavenly Lord and everything will be fine.

Neither of them thinks about how the woman they love feels. They wanted to save them in their own way, pretended not to love them, and ended up outsmarting themselves .....

So what do you mean by the main actors kissing backstage? A staged act for PR purpose?

The director asked Yuan Bing Yan to kiss Chen Yi, but he didn't even know about it, so it was unexpected for him. This happened shortly before the farewell concert.

And then at the farewell concert, Chen Yi ignored the actress, even when she was crying. According to rumors, his agency told him to behave like this, in connection with the release of a new drama, on the day of the completion of Love and Redemption. But some fans interpreted his behavior as something personal, that they allegedly met to promote the drama. Of course, many things were invented by fans and anti-fans. There was a lot of talk, including the existence of paid fans. Although I am skeptical of such rumors, it was just unpleasant to read that Love and Redemption are put on an equal footing with TMPOB.

I even understood the very strange behavior of Reba and Vengo during the filming of the drama. These two have long been under suspicion. At first, I began to think that I was just starting to rave, but reading the forum and watching the video where they are together, I was convinced that not only I have such an opinion about . What I liked was that their chemistry exists not only in the drama, but also in their personal friendship and sympathy. They were so sincere that I believed that there really was something between them.

Of course, we do not expect that the actors will come together in real life, but respect for your partner in the shooting should always be.

Sorry out of topic though.. Ladies, anyone who has watched Love and Redemption?

I don't want to offend the fans of Love and Redemption, but I think the ratings of the drama were too high. For me, it was the most offensive thing to read that people believe that this drama is a replacement for TMPOB and an improved version of the Ashes of Love.

I never got to see it through to the end because I didn't like the acting of the lead actress. The drama lasted only on the acting of the main actor Chen Yi, but he was assigned the role of a martyr who only does what he dies for the sake of the heroine. As for how much blood he spits out, it's not for nothing that dorama has been criticized for it.

What's so special about this story? Again, the world of mortals, the heroine does not remember her past life, and there is also a pill that deprives her of feelings. Does it remind you of anything?

But what I don't understand is, why do you have to make the main actors kiss backstage if the drama is going well? Why make a PR move? You probably know what happened at the farewell concert and that Chen Yi lost his fans. That's what it means to hunt for a ship, not a drama.

This unprofessional behavior of the actors alienated me even more from watching. Because the production teams of TMPOB, Ashes of Love, and ELOD didn't stoop to that.

But this is only my opinion, I do not impose it on anyone. It's up to you to watch the drama or not.

Yes, both Ye Hua and Shen Ye made bad moves/decisions.

I have the same felling I could not stand the stories, my heart sinks when watching and reading the books (I have low tolerance).

Ye Hua  in the book is a bit different from the drama. He even believed that Su Su pushed Su Jin (how can his eyes be so deceitful? At first I thought I read it wrong). But Ye Hua will mature and be a better Tianjun than current Tianjun (Is Tianjun a political rank? or a name?) given that he is in the same circle as DHDJ and Lain Song (in Sky Kingdom) and Moyuan's brother. They are good bunch of gods.

I want to believe that there was something else in the book about YX's feelings. Because if in the book he really believed that Su Su pushed Su Jin, then he's a complete jerk. You must know your wife's character. Yes, and as a mortal weak woman, and even pregnant, could push the celestial. It's one thing for the Heavenly Master to find an excuse to get rid of Su Su, but it's another when YX believes that she is to blame.

And the annoying moment when YX carries Su Jin in her arms in the drama. It's also annoying when DX carries off JX after competing for the Pimpon apple. And I don't understand one point, DX should have realized that JX was deliberately controlling Yan Chi Wu to harm FJ, but he just turned a blind eye to it or thought that Miao Luo was controlling her against JX's will. It's a demon, a demon can't take over a soul unless the soul itself agrees to do evil.

To be honest, while I don’t doubt Ye Hua does love Su Su, I wonder if Su Jin ever loved Ye Hua. Because hers is clearly an obsession. She doesn’t care about Ye Hua’s feelings, only that he belongs to her. It seems like she only wants him because everything else in her life spoiled life is perfect. She just wants what she can’t have.

and since this is an ELOD forum,

does Zhihe love Dong Hua? Hell no. She just wants the position being his queen can offer her. Come to think of it, she never really tries to impress Dong Hua, otherwise she would have tried harder at his lessons when he was her teacher.

Does Jiheng love Dong Hua? Nope. While I understand she thinks she loves him, what else can she expect when he is her only visitor and she refuses to befriend the biyiniao’s? The fact that he is a gentleman doesn’t help. But again, if she loves him, she would never try to break up his romance.

speaking of whether Ye Hua loved Su Su, what is up with the male lead always hiding the truth from the female lead? Yes, I get that they are afraid of losing their wife forever, but seriously... would you consider that love?

i am pretty sure these topics were discussed before but why not keep this forum alive?

I am annoyed by the fact that Jiheng and Zhihe, if they need something from DX, immediately remember their fathers. Here you promised my father to take care of me, I need to go back to the Heavenly Palace for training (in the case of Zhihe). You owe it to my father, if you don't want to marry me, then I demand that you cancel the wedding, never marry, and spend your whole life alone.

These women are selfish, manipulative, annoying very much. It seems that they grew up in prosperous families, in wealth and luxury like FJ. But the Heavens did not reward them with intelligence. They are created only to annoy DX, to prevent him from finally starting to build his own life.

Su Jin seems to have developed a possessive instinct since childhood. She cared about YX, so he belongs to her, wants not wants, and I will become his wife.

I can't understand it. She must understand that as a woman, he does not want her. Or she thinks she will enter the palace as his concubine and he will be happy to sleep with her.

Zhihe's possessiveness instinct was triggered much later. Since DX was taking care of her at her father's request, Zhihe started having delusions that DX would marry her sooner or later. She is blind and does not see that DX is indifferent to her.

Personally, I don't consider what YX did to Su Su to be love. Sooner or later, the truth will come to the surface. What would be the BQ if she remembered everything after their official wedding? I was annoyed by the scene in TMPOB when YX comes to Su Su with a wedding dress in episode 25. Did you ask her if she wanted to be your wife? And he still expects her to love him, how stupid, petty, and arrogant.

This forum should continue to live. We need to get to 1000 pages. It seems to me that when the story of LS and Chen Yu is filmed, we will move to a new forum, but the discussion of TMPOB and ELOD topics will not go away.

  18. I remember reading a story on behalf of YX. I really don't like the reason YX is marrying Su Su. It's like passion and lust, but not love, at least in the beginning. YX is young and hot, he is attracted to a woman for the first time. He had never had sex with any other woman, Su Su was his first woman.

It seems to me that the story on behalf of YX is not fully laid out. Too many things are unclear. Especially for me, it's not clear when Su Su falls in love with YX.

He was grateful that she had yet to fall in love with him.During this relationship, all enthusiasm came from his end. (I'm in a stupor, meaning she still hasn't fallen in love with him, even when she's already pregnant).

So when does she realize that she loves him? I have a problem with both the book and the drama. Everything somehow spontaneously comes out, what with Su Su, what with BQ.

In the TMOPB book, I could not find much information about what the immortals in Sky Kingdom did to BQ apart from what Su Jin did. I feel that the drama augmented the nastiness of the immortals in the Sky Kingdom (having said this I think the version I read is incomplete version? I might have to re-read it again). That is the aspect I don't like in the drama (harem, consort, nasty immortals etc.). With exception to Tianjun. Drama is close. He does not deserve to be Tianjun, terrible.

In the book, Su Jin is mentioned but from BQ 's point of view. I think BQ kept thing to herself and not telling anyone, even God Zhe Yan (but he gave her that pill anyway). So they found her already after she took the romance forgetting pill. But they should have investigated and not let it go.

YH in the drama seems to be a bit better than in the book (because in the book it is written from BQ POV- I don't know whether the book in Chinese has actually described better than the English translation?).

From book POV, Bai Zhi lives somewhere else and not with BQ. Bai Zhi's wife is actually very devoted mother, she is the one who saved BQ from dying when she stabbed her heart (to feed Moyuan). She has almost lost her life and Bai Zhi had to go and get some kind of medicine to help her. The same medicine that YH went to get for BQ (to give to Moyuan)

The writing style of the BQ book is different from the Pillow book. I like how TQ describes BQ's feelings. The book explained to me why BQ does this, her attitude towards her son, even when she does not remember that she is his mother. The TMPOB drama unfortunately lacks BQ's internal monologues.

Yes, I'm not his real mother, but I know for a fact that I love Ye Hua's son as much as I would love my own. I feel sorry for him, because he lost his mother at such a young age, and I always tried to protect him. But all my feelings revolt against such hurtful words.

In the drama, I misunderstand her reaction. I thought she was jealous. But Ali is only a child. But it turns out BQ loves him, yes, she loves in her own way, but still loves and cares.

I wish we could read more details from the book about what happened to BQ when it was Su Su. But the book made me hate YX even more than I did in the drama.  I didn't feel sorry for YX when he suffered for Su Su and lost an arm and his powers to help BQ get MY back.

I believe that such love as YX and Shen Ye have is abnormal and selfish. It's more like an obsession. The victims here are only Su Su and Aranya. They couldn't stand the betrayal and decided to leave. These are very cruel and tragic stories that cannot be watched and read without tears.:heartbreak::tired:

What's unlikable with Bai Yi is that his answer for his daughter's shortcomings would be a husband. As her father, he should be the first to address what he believes the daughter lacks, not palm off that responsibility to the husband to be.

Bai Yi and Dong Hua sees FJ differently. The father thinks, nay, looks for a husband to boost the support for her as she takes the throne. Dong Hua on the other hand says she is talented, capable, and has good personality.

Drama POV, LOL, that meal together is funny. Bai Yi couldn't eat, while Dong Hua was stuffing his face.

The most annoying thing is that neither Bai Yi nor Bai Zhi think about what FJ herself wants. On the one hand, it is good that the Bai family brings up children free and independent, but on the other hand, there is no help from the family.

What were they all doing while BQ was suffering from YX betrayal and destroying fox cave? Is it normal for BQ to drink himself into unconsciousness? And wondering where was Bai Zhi and all the other during the trial, Su Jin? Their daughter's eyes were taken away, she was humiliated by the heavenly ones, why don't you do anything or everyone was satisfied with the Heavenly Lord's decision. But if DX had not intervened in the lawsuit, Su Jin would have gotten off lightly, would have received punishment only for the Su Su doll. Or the Bai family just benefits from the marriage of BQ and YX so they didn't do anything. Shouldn't Zhe Yan be angry about YX's betrayal of BQ? I know her ordeal was worth it, but it doesn't change the fact that her eyes weren't returned. BQ itself remembered and took them away.

FJ wasn't even searched for when she left for the mortal world. If they cared about her reputation, they could have waited with the whole family for DX from the demon realm and demanded an explanation, but no, they refused to listen to him, where FJ doesn't really care either. I expected more from the mothers of BQ and FJ to help my child in some way. They are so dependent on the decisions of Bai Zhi and Bai Yi that they just do what they are told.

That is, the spies knew that DX was together with JX. But the fact that there is a problem with demons, they do not know. What kind of spies are these, or is their espionage aimed only to catch DX in treachery?

The Qingqiu seem to be aware of everything. But for some reason, they don't know anything about the problems with Qing Cang and Miao Luo. Why didn't they care about the fact that YX had a mortal wife and a child with her, as well as the fact that Su Jin would become his concubine?

Agree. In my opinion the TMPB drama destroys the magic of Pillow Book by inventing the new story of DHDJ and FJ. @Romulan I recommend you to read the  PB book and watch the ELOD drama (if you have not done that already).

I am glad I did not watch TMPB first, otherwise I would be put off watching ELOD. The only reason I watched TMPB drama simply to find out more context/background about Pillow Book (there was not much really). The 3L3W TMPB book on another hand feels better. I like the book more than the drama.

Although I am not fond of TMPB drama I still give it credit for bringing in Reba and Vengo into the story.  PB will not be a PB without them.

This Soompi forum gives the most useful information and makes reading TQ books more enjoyable.

I agree with you that the way the story of DX and FJ was shown in TMPOB spoils their magical story in ELOD. I watched ELOD after TMPOB and I will say that if it was the other way around, I wouldn't be able to watch TMPOB at all.

As for the popularity of TMPOB for the past three years, I can say that this is due not only to the production team, but also to all the actors involved. The reason is not at all in the love story of BQ and YX, but in the way each character was written, in their character development, in how interesting all the stories developed. And the main and secondary actors not only did what the director told them to do, they brought the characters of both TQ books to life, they lived their character's life as if it were their own life.

Personally, I liked the story of DX and FJ in TMPOB much more than the story of BQ and YX. But ELOD, I'm still obsessed with him. I was so devastated when it came to an end, it wasn't enough for me, I wanted it to never end. I'm still hurt by how messed up DX and FJ are in TMPOB. I've been healing my wounded heart by reading the opinions of fans about their stories in TMPOB, fan fiction is also very helpful.

The chemistry of Reba and Vengo has not been eclipsed by any drama that was released in 2020, and even now I do not see anything similar. It is necessary to be so able to show love on the screen that my monitor simply could not stand this flame. Part of me still thinks there was more to them than just acting.

Zhe Yan and Bai Zhen are copyrighted characters of TQ. So unless there's a consent or license to use the characters from TQ to create a drama about them, then it's infringing of copyright and may be liable to lawsuits and fines.

Si Ming is known as a Chinese deity for the fates of humans, so there's no legal issue of using the character in stories.

In TMOPB novel, DH and FJ are mentioned and in several parts of the story, particularly the supposed mortal trial of Dong Hua wherein Feng Jiu became the Honourable Concubine Chen. Thus, Croton can use their characters as how they were in the TMOPB book. How they met and how FJ stayed in Tai Chen Palace as maid were very briefly mentioned in TMOPB.

So far nothing has been mentioned if TQ was part of the script writing for TMOPB, but she was for ELOD.

Before producing TMOPB, Croton has tried negotiating for the rights to TPB from Liu Yuxin. This is an indication that they wanted to be true to the story of FJ and DH, since there's an overlap in the timelines of FJ and BQ in the mortal realm, and if they have the rights they could actually show details like how DH and FJ first met, and the years of FJ in Tai Chen Palace as a servant.

When ELOD finally went ahead for production, it was with Tencent and not Croton, and the license for the story rights was almost over.

Although Dong Hua is like Si Ming, a Chinese deity, Feng Jiu and their story is by TQ. License to use the copyright for the story and to use the character of Feng Jiu would then be required.

It's possible that Croton tried again after the very successful run of TMOPB to acquire the rights of TPB from Liu Yuxin, but negotiations have again failed, as another media company produced ELOD. She would later take another role as there's already an actress who perfectly played the role, and fans who wanted her to reprise the role. Not only that, it was very likely there aren't willing investors to produce ELOD if Reba wasn't FJ.

Thank you for explaining all the details of my question to me. :)

I really thought that Si Ming was invented in the TQ Universe. I need to read more about him.

  23. I have such a question.

There were rumors after the end of ELOD that a drama about Zhe Yan and Bai Zhen would be filmed. But to date, TQ has not written any history about them. So, if they want to make a drama without the original source, it will be considered plagiarism if they do not get the consent of the author?

But then the question arises in the drama Love and Destiny there is a Si Min that was invented by TQ, wouldn't that be considered plagiarism?

The same goes for DX and FJ in TMOPB. Even if their history was falsified, but in the drama, their external data, names and partially their character were preserved. Or did the production team get TQ's approval that the characters would be included in the drama, and only their storyline would be changed? TQ was involved in writing the DX and FJ storyline in TMOPB?

And if the team got every right to come up with the DX and FJ story in the TMOPB as they want, as long as it doesn't involve a Pillow Book, then why did they want to get the rights to the book again after the TMOPB was completed? What's the point if they have their own history of DX and FJ? Or is it necessary to get TQ's consent again in order to screen a DX and FJ drama unrelated to the Pillow Book?

With regards to Love and Destiny... I watched it after TMOPB and imo it's nothing like that drama (or the pillow book.) There are some similarities, but they felt more like a cheap rip-off. :vicx:

I think TMOPB and L&D shouldn't be compared. L&D is not bad on it's own (even though I didn't like it) as long as you don't compare, which is what I did initially.

I haven't compared Love and Destiny to TMOPB and ELOD. Just answered a question about the storyline in the drama.

It seems to me that the production team, desperate that they didn't get the rights to the Pillow book, decided to come up with their own story, sticking to the TMOPB Universe. Although they have satisfied themselves, many people think that dorama is just a pathetic parody of TMOPB. When I watched Love and Destiny, especially after watching TMOPB and ELOD, I also started to think so.

Everyone can watch the drama and make their own conclusion.
