  1. Oh man, this umbrella gifs made me tear up

I really need to remember we have these sweeties to protect forever and ever. And OMG! The umbrella motif is really following us from the start with Joon Young wanting to give Song Ah an umbrella and now finally he can provide one. UGH! So GOOD!

Also it made me realize that together Joon Young and Song Ah are already learning to give-and-take as a part of their relationship, being a gift to each other. While their personal choices may have led Joon Young to feel less free, Song Ah to endure hardship, both to suffer in silence for their own imbalanced relationships, being together has made them stronger for who they are and for each other.

Which led me to thinking that to encourage growth, one may need to do some clearing first (prune/trim and other garden/farm actions) and returning to the roots of their current situation as mentioned by @ponderings   and root these out once and for all.

While I had a strong wish for Dimples Couple to perform music together, I felt responsible that they are now suffering in consequence. I could not imagine the backlash for Song Ah :(

Shall we get some air and ice cream? :)

I quite agree too the opening chords of Gummy's song is by F. Chopin. When I first heard it in the episode, oh it's Chopin. I also referred to it as "No Other Love", a super simple piano piece I studied many moons ago.

I learned after that the Chopin music was "made" into a song and recorded in 1950s. A bit old-fashioned (furthering the writer's love of old things) with very romantic lyrics, here:

I also think the answer to Song Ah question "Is there any space for me? will be answered once she accepts JY as her partner in music, not just in love. Tbh, this is my fantasy scene, like a love scene, for Song Ah and Joon Young to play together, see how they connect musically. For her, who is feeling insecure about her music, to put her trust in him being more experienced in performing lol. I'm super giddy about Joon Young being persistent about partnering with Song Ah, musically that is ;)

I like that too, that they don't judge as they share their pains and flaws, not just show their good sides (as Cha Young-in said to JY).Really seriously, the writing and direction are just too good isn't it?  There's no throwaway line or scene, this coming from a writer who studied violin and business :)

On JK: I realized this on my re-watching that her mom died on same date as her birthday (there was a grave visit scene with JK & her grandma in  happy bday ep 3, where grandma says JK dad makes it a point to be away at this time of year). Very sad to think that for last 15 years her family does not mark her birthday as well.

On SA: I  feel she'll never give up the violin, even if it may mean a "hard life" for her. She may not have a performing career like JY but that she'll find a way to apply to her life the lesson of "harmonics where A, C or F can be in the same voice"  (something like that from lecture scene) :)

With the holding hands and intertwining fingers is JY little smile of a contented heart as he kept a sleepipng SA close while on the bus ride home (it's not a bed scene per se but they slept together). Have a fun watch everyone :)

  4. @Jillia Loved The Beloved cup pic. First to come to mind is the film "The Beloved", a Beethoven biopic and his mysterious lady. Beethoven is also composer of Moonlight Sonata, one of SA's favorite music played by JY in the Happy Birthday scene. Modern take is "Your Moonlight" OST by Chen (as pointed out by a youtube commenter). Looking up poet Paul Eluard, he wrote this for his wife Gala. He also figured in his own love triangle with Gala who left him to be with painter Salvador Dali (Gala's final partner). Talk about following one's heart ... I'm such a sucker for these bits and crumbs.

Saw the raw 2x now and subs are up now too :)

  5. Hello to everyone, from a fellow DYLB fan. Excited to be here! I’m grateful to all of you for sharing your thoughts and insights for this special drama. Since March, I’ve waited for DYLB with great anticipation. I thought that for sure I’ll get to enjoy scenes and solid acting performances with PEB & KMJ in the cast, aka the Dimples Couple.

I was deligthed to find the storytelling as solid yet subtle - the writing, direction, music, editing, even the outfits.* With its layering of reveals and feels, DYLB is so watch-able I always had to view an episode, clip, MV, BTS, article, pics or any more than once…a day. :)

“The silence of that night was so powerful I can’t forget it.” A most memorable from Ep. 3 which Joonyoung shares to Songah. I could say the same about DYLB, quiet, intense, unforgettable.

Also intrigued with writer's interview saying there's SA character reveal in the final episode. My first thoughts there's a backstory to her liking the violin, maybe in her high school or college time that intersects with JY timeline. Looking forward to unpacking clues in the next (or previous) episodes.

Happy Monday viewing with the handholding, overnight trip and all!

Edit: twinning outfits of our Dimples Couple
