  1. If I was the Cookie lady, and a certain lady who sucks at baking cookies, would continue to ask for tea parties, I would certainly make it my life mission to her life hell :loolz:

I just voted for that option in the poll only because I feel for Cookie lady who puts so much effort in teaching everyone how to bake cookie, and the worst person at that just cares about tea parties (and also skips some for no reason) :isannoyed:

Jokes apart, I did have doubts about Bom being Jin Woo's daughter but the only piece which sort of doesn't sit well in the puzzle for me is the fact that Moon Young was the one who gave him the orphanage info where his daughter was, and they confirmed that she was adopted. If Moon Young and her husband did really adopt Bom, then surely Moon Young would know which orphanage she was in. Anyway, I am still inclining towards this theory thinking that writers will have some logical reason behind this.

Secondly there were surely some subtle hints towards romance between Jin Woo and Moon Young, but I just think that they don't really have enough time for that left with only 4 episodes remaining in the drama. They might end the drama with an open end wrt their feelings for each other maybe.

Talking about the Cookie lady's revenge against Moon Young, seeing the latest ep, it surely something more personal than Moon Young prosecuting her or causing disturbance in her previous works. I do think its related to something his father did, like killing her father and faking his death using his dead body. It might be why Cookie lady made Moon Young's husband follow the same path as well. There's too much parallel in between Moon Young's dad case, and her husband's case, and that is something the writer has been hinting towards with the flashbacks Moon Young was having. There's a chance that Cookie Lady believes "Child must bear the sins of the parents", and maybe that's why she is being punished here, for living a comparatively better life than her despite her father's sin.

But then again, it might be related to Moon Young being directly related to Cookie Lady's dad as well, sort of prosecuting him and leading his death in jail or so. But seeing how Moon Young's father has been serving Cookie Lady, it seems like he faked his death like her husband, and then stole Cookie Lady's father's identity like her husband was planning to do with Tae Soo's identity.

Overall I am enjoying the drama and look forward to this week's episode. I hope they end it well, and not rush the ending. The pacing of this drama has been pretty good, and I hope the writer continues to do a good job with the ending :hwaiting:

I'm gonna pass on "Nothing Uncovered" because it features the actor who played in Empress Ki. @Sleepy Owl and I ended up calling him Cockroach, because he - just - wouldn't - die during the 51 episode run. :rage:

Let's just not remember that dude Noona. That guy had the main character aura when it came to facing death and would somehow dodge it throughout the drama :isannoyed:

I didn't really drop it Noona, its just indefinitely paused at the moment, but I might get back to it anytime whenever I feel like watching it, I promise :sweats:

Talking about the Noona Romances, i believe many would have really wanted to see more from the couple in Tomorrow, but we never got to see much. It was sad, and I really would have wanted to see more of them.

Other than that, I did enjoy 18 Again, I Can Hear Your Voice, K2 :piggydance:

  3. I am kinda late to the party. I believe most of the members are already aware of how like many others I really wanted the ML to end up with 2nd FL in K2. Their chemistry was off charts but yeah, it didn't really happen.

But for me, the biggest upset would be Lee Dae Gil (ML) not ending up with FL in Chuno. It was just so cruel and sad for him there. Dude became a slave hunter with the sole purpose of finding her, and when he finally met her, she had already married Song Tae Ha the 2nd ML. His life would have been totally different had he met FL earlier much before she would fall in love the 2nd ML there. But then again, Chuno is among the rare dramas where the 2nd ML ends up with the girl. :eats:

Similarly I did really think that in Start Up, FL had better chemistry with 2nd ML there, which is why I felt like they suited each other a lot better. Especially after the break where the ML and his friends end up going to US for some years but FL stays. :piggydance:

Talking about Mr. Sunshine, I personally think Gu Dong Mae never had any chance with the FL. I think Kim Hee Sung (call him 2nd ML or 3rd ML, for me personally this dude was 2nd ML) had better chances with FL given the fact that they were actually engaged and suppose to marry each other. Would I really ship them though? Nah, I think I liked the main pairing in Mr. Sunshine there.

Gu Dong Mae actually had a lot better chemistry with Hina Kudo (2nd FL), who was the Hotel Owner in the town and I know many viewers actually shipped them. :exercice:

Also, I will nominate Doo Chil Sung and Seo Poong from Wok Of love. While the FL was insufferable, these guys' chemistry was off the charts!:D

This was one of the main reasons why I didn't drop that drama, otherwise yes, the FL was insufferable there :piggydance:

I count only Kdramas or Kmovies. Maybe it is enough but I never watched less than 20 kdramas per year. It is the first time for me but I really didn`t have the mood to watch more.

Really? I know I don`t like or watch vampire dramas but I thought you like them. Or maybe you like only zombie dramas.

Okay, so I am replying to this pretty late Chingu, so again I might have to recheck how many dramas and movies I watched in 2023, but pretty sure it was lesser than previous one.

I hardly watch Vampire dramas, I have watched a few of them like "Blood" or "Scholar who walks the Night", but yeah, I am more into Zombie genre, the stakes are higher in there :loolz:

Let's lure Ms. Koko @kokodus to watch it with us! I already convinced her to watch Death's Game, we can surely convince her to watch a light makjang too.

And let's not forget @agenth, she will probably want to see her favorite Secret (Love) oppa!

Noona, tell me when we got to start it, I guess I am ready for it maybe :sweats:

I am hardly watching anything right now, so may as well join you for this.

The only dramas I am currently watching are "The Good Wife", which I am rewatching and "Wonderful World" which started well, but seems all over the place for now. I will still watch next week's eps before deciding if I got to continue watching or not.

Yeah, I was trying to remember the other day which high school drama you had recommended me :sweats:

I had nothing to watch, and wanted to start something new. Also Noona, while we are at it, what was that Jdrama that you had recommended where a robber tries to rob the house of a family where all the members are criminal in a way or two. :hooray:

Lie After Lie (Lee Il Hwa) - I do think that Lee Il Hwa makes Chairman Kim quite a delicious villain. For me she was an excellent villain in the drama. She is cold and it's easy to root for her downfall because she’s really evil. I think she is also ruthless.

This woman right here, she was pure evil. All the ways that she tried to harm the FL there surely made all the viewers hate her a lot. There were times when I wanted to spartan kick that woman down the cliff

K2 (Choi Yoo Jin) – For me, she’s the mildest of them all – She delivers all kinds of evil, but she also displays certain sincere emotions because there’s always a reason behind her actions. I love their insane chemistry with Ji Chang Wook. Despite, she also gives me stress. Choi Yoo Jin becomes one of my favorite female villains due to her marvelous acting in the drama.

Its been so long since I watched this drama, I watched it when it was airing, and didn't really rewatch it. But I think almost everyone who watched that drama agrees with you, we had a similar comment from @lebeaucouple Chingu on this as well.

What I think is, Choi Yoo Jin was firstly a pretty well written character. From what I remember, for a long time she actually remained central Female character in the drama, and the "FL" was getting very limited scenes. Thanks to this we got to see more of her, and understand her. At the same time, she did start changing after meeting the ML, so by the end, the writers had redeemed her a lot, which is why we all remember her as lesser evil or more of a gray character instead. @agenth Chingu, I look forward to see what you think about this as well. :eats:

Talking about my favorite Evil ladies:

    1. Lady Mishil - This woman right here was something else. I got to say, she had all sort of powers, was controlling all the key figures, and had married the most important people in the country. Her husbands were in court, and also major general in army, and she herself was well known and respected among the Hwarangs of her time.

She was twisted, smart, evil and had her own agenda throughout the drama. For me, she proved to be one of the hardest villains (including among the male villains) to defeat. And if remember correctly, @larus, @joccu Chingus and also @Lmangla Noona liked her character. :rubchin:

    2. Han Je Kook - In Graceful Family, not only the good guys, but also the bad ones were scared of her, that's how dangerous this lady was. Again if I remember correctly, she had most of the things under her control given the fact that she was chief of security or something similar for the Chaebol family involved.

Its always the calm ones who are most dangerous, and so this lady would hardly lose her temper and would approach all the situations with cool mind.

    3. Choi Myung Hee - What really surprised me in general for the bad guys in Vincenzo was, they knew there would be consequences, and still they would try to go after Vincenzo somehow. Choi Myung Hee was the same, she was smart, had pretty good connections in the law department thanks to years she spent as Prosecutor, and more importantly, she was a lot more ruthless than that Law Firm President.

She never really hesitated from taking extreme actions, which involved killing. Its just that as I said, just like other bad guys, she never really calculated the consequences of going after Vincenzo despite his warnings and so well, ended up with the ending that she had. But yeah, you don't always see evil ladies who are as evil as her in dramas.

@kingpin Chingu, interestingly both Choi Myung Hee from Vincenzo and Empress Yoo from Moon Lovers had an ending they deserved because of their actions. But at the same they influenced the plot of their respective dramas a lot. :piggydance:

I watched most of her drama, she is a talented actress, good piano player and once a university professor. For K2, in my opinion, I wouldn't classify her as top evil actor because her character role in K2 was a Madam President, a leader that need to protect a country, it's hard to see any politician being righteous in the Kdrama, her role can be a gray character with a thin line between good and evil, whereas the evil characters in other dramas have distinct personalities and are easily identified as evil because of their selfish thoughts and actions.

I mean, I would say that maybe she started changing after meeting the ML, but yeah, lady had some blood on her hands from the start if I remember correctly. But still, I do agree that they sort of tried to redeem her in the end :rubchin:

    17 hours ago, lebeaucouple said:

Where in the past it was easy to see distinct characters, nowaday many characters fall somewhere between angelic and evil until we learn their backstories, which makes the storylines feel more humanity and realistic.

A well written villain will always have a backstory, that's what makes the viewers feel more about them. That's something I felt like the writer missed out on not only Park Yeon Jin from Glory, but all the bullies in it, I had expected to see some backstory to understand them more.

At the same time, we have also started seeing more of gray main characters as well, like Vincenzo who are not like your typical main characters who are all righteous and good. So yeah, such sort of characters who are not completely good, have got their own flaws etc. actually make the drama look more realistic.

Hmmm…Ko Moon Young’s mother from It’s Okay Not to be Okay.

She must be kind of sinister for her daughter to turn out the way she did - so haunted by bad memories, icy, absolute and merciless.

That was one of the best twists in drama for me, which shocked me a lot. Throughout the drama they had been teasing her existence despite her death being mentioned multiple times as well (correct me if I am wrong), and she was such a sweet nurse in that nursing home.
