@Fandomized Q If they have a very excellent storyline for season 2 of Backstreet Rookie, I will be so excited to watch the sequel of this drama.
The new movie “Restricted Call” will be released in June this year. It looks like JCW has only a supporting role in this movie. I don’t even see his photo on the movie’s poster.

I think both JCW, KYJ and their agencies would not agree to do Backstreet Rookie season 2 if there were better scripts and other drama offers that are more beneficial and promising to them. I have faith in their decision.
There is no official announcement about the broadcast date of drama The Sound of Magic yet, so we will see how it goes...-

Thanks @agenth for the information. So sad that the thread of Backstreet Rookie drama is not available anymore. It has over 300 pages, and I had so much fun with it during the time the drama was aired. Backstreet Rookie is one of my most favorite dramas of JCW, so I am happy to know that there will be season 2. I just hope they will make season 2 better with more interesting, romantic and dramatic storyline.
JCW is such a busy body. I’m sure he won’t rest too long after the drama “The Sound of Magic”.-

Yay! He has 16 millions followers on his Instagram. I can’t wait to watch his new movie in July, and also his new drama on Netflix too.
It’s been a long time since my last visit on this Soompi forum. Anyone knows why the thread of his previous drama Backstreet Rookie has disappeared? We don’t know if he will come back as the main lead for season 2, but Taewon Entertainment website has officially updated that “Backstreet Rookie 2” is on their lineup of new dramas.

Thank you for the update. I’ve been reading the webtoon online on MangaOwl, and I think it’s pretty interesting. However, the drama has only 6 episodes? I hope that’s just the number of episodes for season 1.

The recent news says that both Kim Ji Won and Ji Chang Wook are tested negative for COVID-19. The production team are considering if they should resume filming in about 2 weeks based on the test results of the staff and cast. In a new video uploaded by actor Eum Moon Suk, JCW said the filming of this drama had been tentatively scheduled until mid of January 2021. Hopefully everything will be on track.

It’s so sad that filming is halted, but I hope they will be able to continue soon if all other staff members get tested and have negative results. It’s only 12 episodes with 30 minutes for each episode. It’s not a lengthy drama so that they can get it done quicker...I’m really praying for all cast members are doing well and always stay healthy.
It’s so nice that the drama will be streamed online on Netflix too.

At first I thought the “moving poster” is the first trailer ( I was a bit disappointed because of its simplicity), but actually it is not a trailer. The idea of “moving poster” is quite creative.

Yeah, I notice that he wears a ring, so I guess his character is married. In the new stills, he carries few different cameras too. I think his camera was stolen by a pretty girl so that he has to buy some new one.
Anyway, based on Glorious Entertainment’s update, the official English title of this drama is “Lovestruck in the City”. It sounds better and more memorable than “City Couple’s Way of Love”.
Last night I had a dream, and I saw both of Ji Chang Wook and Kim Ji Won in my beautiful dream. It’s very interesting!

On AsiaFlix apps, it’s said the drama will be released legally there too, but it’s not sure if it will air simultaneously with KakaoTV.

I don’t know if it’s been confirmed yet but several JCW’s fan page said that the drama will be premiered on Dec 8 on KakaoTV and simultaneously on Netflix.

Kim Min Seok has joined the cast of Ji Chang Wookand Kim Ji Won’s upcoming romance drama!
On September 25, the actor was confirmed to be appearing in KakaoTV’s new original drama “City Couple’s Way of Love” (literal translation). The short-form drama, which is currently being produced with multiple seasons in mind, will follow the realistic dating lives of young people fighting to survive in a hectic city.
In what will mark his first acting project since his military discharge in July, Kim Min Seok will be playing the role of architect and cynical realist Choi Kyung Joon. Despite being a self-professed passive observer of the world who rarely gets angry, Choi Kyung Joon refuses to stand by and watch when it comes to other people mistreating his longtime girlfriend.
Kim MIn Seok commented, “I’m grateful and honored to be able to greet you through a great drama like this following my discharge. I will do my utmost to portray Choi Kyung Joon in a way that is both relatable and comforting for viewers, so please look forward to it.”
“City Couple’s Way of Love” will be helmed by Park Shin Woo, the director of the hit dramas “It’s Okay to Not Be Okay,” “Encounter,” and “Don’t Dare to Dream (Jealousy Incarnate).” Ji Chang Wook and Kim Ji Won were confirmed for the leading roles earlier this week.

Top actors Ji Chang Wook and Kim Ji Won are set to unite with the PD of internationally trending drama It’s Okay to Not Be Okay for a new drama.
Kakao TV has confirmed that Ji Chang Wook and Kim Ji Won have been cast in their new drama Love Laws of City Men and Women, which is set to air later this year. Love Laws of City Men and Women is a new work written by I Need Romance and Discovery of Love writer Jeong Hyun Jeong and also co-written by Jeong Da Yeon. It tells a story of a life-threatening love within a city.
Because the production team decided to have the drama air via KakaoTV, the format will be different from traditional dramas. There will be 12 episodes, with each episode lasting around 25 minutes. The drama will be produced in a season fashion, with Ji Chang Wook and Kim Ji Won leading the first story.Ji Chang Wook will play the role of Park Jae Won, an honest and passionate architect. He is a romanticist who loves walking the city streets and collects various hobbies. Park Jae Won is a “camera thief” who can steal your heart and disappear like a midsummer night’s dream, and a person she can’t forget. Ji Chang Wook is expected to portray Park Jae Won’s perfect but excessively passionate character in a variety of ways.
Kim Ji Won will play the role of freelancer marketer Lee Eun Oh. She is normally an ordinary woman, but her alternative character is Yoon Seon Ah, a woman with a free spirit. She falls in love with Park Jae Won after impulsively leaving for an unfamiliar place.

JCW is an antagonist in movie Punishment?
I don’t know if I’m happy or not. After drama Five Fingers, JCW said he didn’t get any new offer for drama or movie that made him quite depressed. I’m not sure if acting as an antagonist would bring any good consequences. However, I like him in MV “Cry cry” (T-ara) even though his role is a bad gangster.
I’m sure JCW has multiple offers for movie, and if he decided to choose movie Punishment, I guess it must be good enough to convince him to accept the antagonist role.

JCW said he is not afraid of over exposure, and he feels sick if he doesn’t work. I think JCW will consider to do some new project soon because he doesn’t like to take a long break.

@Jillia 51 episodes take too much time to rewatch. Maybe I can just watch the scenes that have Ha Ji Won and/or Ji Chang Wook, and the rest I will skip.
@partyon Empress Ki has a good script, great cast, excellent directing, and beautiful music. JCW portrayed his challenging role as TaHwan so well in this drama that I don't think anyone else can do it better.

It's been more than 6 years since the last time I watched Empress Ki. Time passed so quickly. JCW said he wanted to do a historical drama because it's been a long time, and he would like to be King again too.
Empress Ki is a good drama, but the last 13 episodes were kinda painful to watch. The scriptwriters tortured The Emperor and also the Empress too much.

There’s a marathon of drama Healer on KBS W channel in this September. I really miss writer Song Ji Na of drama Healer. She’s a very talented writer. Hopefully she will create another masterpiece and cooperate with JCW again someday.

I have been always hoping for JCW to take on a handsome and cool doctor role in a medical drama, but somehow he is now considering a hospice patient role instead.
Anyway, I believe in his choice. I’m sure the melodrama “Tell Me Your Wish” has some interesting points that make him consider it. Do you know who are the director and writer of this new drama?
Today I went to a movie theater to watch the movie “Hard Hit”. It’s a good movie, but most of the time we can hear his voice only, and he only shows up on screen for less than 10 minutes. Of course he did a very good job in portraying his role. Even though his face is dirty and his hair is messy, but he still looks so handsome, ha ha…
