I've read that in a few places - others are pointing to the very first scene in the last episode intro of them meeting at the riverside - Won-Jun is clearly his older self, and he's wearing the same tan overcoat he was in at the end of the episode ... I'll take that ending, I wanted them together even if it proved difficult

I was actually wondering about this scene expecting it to be the end.

Having said that, I read that the ending of the webtoon was even worse.

  2. Hmmm very surprise that there is almost no comment about this drama on this forum.

I've been waiting for this in Netflix because of Bae Suzy, but honestly I thought I wouldn't like it.

    Glad I was wrong.

It was a very good drama, and whilst the ending was quite bitter sweet, I guess it was realistic as @LeftCoastOppa said.

I know it will be very unlikely, but it isn't a sin to wish, so wishing for a season 2.

Doona and Vagabond are now my top 2 favorite Bae Suzy dramas. Just ironic that Vagabond also deserved a season 2.

@Bojun I'm curious, did you finish this drama? If you did, what were your thoughts?

@partyon Yes, I did finish the drama, and was glad that it was a happy ending. I also liked the OST and listening to it now.

I really wanted to give the ML character a knock on the head because of his weirdness. I guess it had to do with his unhappy first relationship, but seriously why let the past control your future.

I was also surprised with the low rating in Korea.

    Episode 15 -

    That ending ...

I think Writer/PD-nim is playing us - She's talking about quitting King the Land not breaking up

... and that ring, OMG its hideous

My exact sentiments. Enjoying how ep 15 was cruising along then suddenly that "WTF" moment!!!

I would really be dissapointed if the writers use the break up card with only an episode left.

The ring was beyond hideous!!! It looked like Captain America's shield TBH.

  5. Glad to see that Mr Gu let Goo Won and Sa-rang keep their relationship, but he still doesn't approve of it thus transferring Sa-rang to King Tourist Hotel. I still believe that the grandson would be a factor in Mr Gu accepting Sa-rang.

The trailer showed Goo Won crying and the evil sister saying she gave someone money then she left. I believe those scenes are totally unrelated and I would eat my short (sorry for the pun) if Sa-rang received money then left.

Nothing much to say except I hope it's next week already for the final 2 episodes. I expect nothing less than a new high rating for the last episode. Enough of the drama already and give us the sweetest of ending for the lovebirds.

  6. Interesting ep 13. I thought it was going to be bad based on what we saw on the trailer at the end of ep 12. But typical of the drama crew to mislead us with the words being said and the order of the events. I guess the only accurate one was when Goo Won's father said end it while referring to Goo Won's love with someone else. But we saw that the mention of Goo Won being married didn't have that bad of an effect on Sa-rang. It was more shocked that jealously. Goo Won also flat out rejected the girl who has a crush on him. I hope that the grandson being happy around Sa-rang will be a factor in Mr Goo accepting her as his son's girlfriend.

Episode 14 in a few hours and the trailer showed Goo Won and Sa-rang's relationship being exposed to all. I wonder who gave the tip to the paparazzi. Could it be the evil sister or Mr No (I hope not)? Goo Won's father seem really upset and there is this move to block Goo Won's appointment as hotel president.

But I don't think it is going to be that bad as there are only 3 episodes left. It is going to be poor form for the lovebirds to have a major setback with only a few episodes left.

OMO! at the 40:24 mark - end of the kitchen kiss - what is that thing running across the floor, that they clearly tried to pixelate out?

Rat? Spider? ... it looked huge :fear:

    Looks like a rat.

Wow someone threw a curve ball in the final minutes of ep 12. I wasn't expecting that marriage plan between the father of Goo Won and the other guy. I guess Sa-rang's expression was expected but she will likely receive a tongue lashing from the boss of the Dream Team.

With only 4 more episodes to go the next episode or two will be trying times between the lovebirds. Maybe even between Goo Won and Mr No. (I hope I'm right that this is just a ploy). We all know the trailers are usually not shown in the correct order so I have to wonder if the scene showing Goo Won's father saying "I'll keep it short. End it!" is about Sa-rang and Goo Won's relationship, or something else (i.e. like finding out what happened to Goo Won's mother).

Honestly too much of anything isn't good, and the numerous sweet moments is getting old, so this upcoming misunderstanding between the two comes at a perfect time.

  8. A bit surprised with the drop in ratings for ep 11. I guess it was because ep 10 was full of joy and happiness because of the Bangkok vacation. Having worked in a hotel before (Shangri La), I can relate to the importance Goo Won gave to the senior staff in the hotel during the 100th year anniversary. This will likely be the turning point in Goo Won's goal to get the hotel from her sister. I wonder though if there is something else behind the words of her sister when she told their father that you are not the only owner of this hotel.

So Goo Won's mother was basically kicked out by his father. We definitely want to know the story behind this. Also, IMO I believe she is still alive somewhere and the veteran room attendant probably knows something.

Had a good laugh when Goo Won and Sa-rang were caught in the act by her 2 friends, Mr No and the male flight attendant. I'm sure the truth about Goo Won's identity will finally be known.

Lastly, I believe Goo Won and Sa-rang will "level up" their relationship in ep 12 if the trailer showing Goo Won with his shirt open is an indication.

Almost forgot about that scene of Mr No and the sister talking. I believe Mr No is pretending to betray Goo Won as part of Goo Won's plan to know his sister's "evil doings".

  9. Whoa that Vertigo bar gave me acrophobia. But seriously that bar was quite cool and I checked out their website. As expected it was pricey, but for the 360 degrees view of Bangkok that is going to be worth it. The filming crew also gave a good job of showcasing the beauty of Bangkok.

Ep 11 was another feel good episode and I can practically see ants crawling on my phone and TV while watching. It was sweetness and romance galore from the knowing looks, holding hands and kisses.

Curious on the trailer when Goo Won says it hurts. Is that because his sister was able to one-up him during the 100 yrs anniversary of the hotel?

I've been wondering if it's just coincidence or deliberate, but Goo Won and Sa-rang have many emotional and/or sweet scenes were water in involved.

    1. Sa-rang tripping and falling into Goo Won's arm while crying in the rain

    2. Goo Won jumping into the overhang where Sa-rang fell whilst in bad weather

    3. The first kiss (I don't think I need to say more)

    4. The swimming pool kiss

    5. The scene in the dancing water in front of Iconsiam

  10. Episode 9 was definitely another feel good episode. Quite expected that it started with the kiss that enabled the drama to reach it's highest rating so far.

The shadow play was quite nice but my favorite moment was when Sa-rang's grandmother was hitting Goo Won supposedly for touching Sa-rang's hand, when in fact she was pretending to be angry because Goo Won only touched Sa-rang's hand. LOL She also said Goo Won didn't pass as Sa-rang's partner but has obviously been bragging about Goo Won with her friends in the market and the bank. Lastly, she opened a housing account for Goo Won and even paid for the first month.

Whilst the kiss in ep 8 was quite passionate, their kiss in grandma's house was better because it came after they have properly told each other their feelings for each other.

I'm still waiting for the episode when Sa-rang's friend discover that Mr. No is actually Goo Won. That will definitely be funny. Oh and the real Mr. No is going to be in trouble for sure, after bossing around Goo Won.

Expect some trouble for Goo Won as the trailer showed his evil sister discovering the benefit trip for Sa-rang and her friends.

Ahah at "Park Min Young level"! Is she like, the standard now!? Course no one and I do mean, NO one should overlook the worst - Park Shin Hye in, "The Heirs". Yikes.

I think Yoona did pretty decent in the kiss as she actually parted her lips ahah. And she moved her head to deepen the kiss. Oh the fact Junho pulled on her lower lip at one point. Lordy I am fanning myself here LoL!

I get why Muslims would be offended by the Arab prince. But the wealthy do indulge in all forms of excess, debauchery etc. It's not uncommon. Just a tad insensitive of a portrayal and typical of a homogenous country as South Korea tch. It's 'bout the same as the foreigners are portrayed as villains in c-dramas.

I found Prince Samir quite annoying actually and was glad he left finally LoL.

I guess I should be more specific with Park Min Young. Her kisses in What's Wrong with Secretary Kim and Her Private Life were like WOW.

You had to mention Park Shin Hye's cringe worthy kiss in The Heirs. I read she didn't know she was going to be kissed, but still, it was really bad. Her only decent kiss that I can remember was in Memories of Alhambra.

The funny thing I found with Prince Samir was when his number 199 jacket in Squid Game was in the clothes rack.

Their agencies claim both Yoona , Junho are just "very close friends". I don't know 'bout y'all... but that is not how "friends" kiss ok? Unless, they're fwb.

Oh my days when Gu Won leaned in close to Sa Rang and almost in a whisper. "Do I have permission?" I swear I combusted into flames ahahah. That was just.. so .. sexy..  what was the filming like I wonder LMFAo?

I wonder how many takes the kissing scene took? lol

  13. Wow that kiss was quite passionate and long too. I haven't seen many Im Yoona kissing scenes, but she definitely one of the better one's among the ladies. Not quite Park Min-young level, but a lot better than most. Leave you wondering if they are still acting. This scene beats the shower kiss in My Shy Boss.

Interesting trailer. I wonder why Cheon Sa-rang's grandma told Goo Won that he's not going to make a good partner? Also why Goo Won seem upset in one scene.

This drama had a very good first half and I'm hoping they can maintain it in the second half.

  14. The drop in the rating in ep 7 wasn't surprising as while we still had the usual moments between the lovebirds, there were also the scenes with the "bad people" like Goo Won's sister and Cheon Sa-rang's jealous restaurant co-workers. I'm looking forward to the time when Cheon Sa-rang's 2 closest friends realize that Mr. No is really Goo Won.

Funny that Goo Won said the Arab prince was a player when he touched Sa-rang's face in the house, her hand in the street and both of her hands in the hotel restaurant. They aren't officially dating yet, but hopefully they become official on the next episode. Curious if the trailer actually showed the Arab prince proposing to Cheon Sa-rang and also how Goo Won tricked him on the "Joseon wedding" scene.

  15. Interesting kdrama with it's take on remembering your previous lives. Although not even remotely similar, it reminds me a bit of The Beauty Inside because of the different gender and nationalities of Ban Ji-eum's reincarnations.

I've watched Shin Hye-sun in Legend of the Blue Sea and Angel's Last Mission, and I find her acting here the best.

I'm waiting for ep 7, and really curious on who are those 2 people who seem to know that Ban Ji-eum remembers her previous lives.

  16. I have to admit that the relationship between Goo Won and Cheon Sa-rang is really going too fast, and at this point the character development isn't really as good as other kdramas. But having said that it is a romantic comedy afterall, and it feels good watching it, so it has achieved its purpose. The scenes in grandma's restaurant was quite funny.

Goo Won is still a bit haughty, but his actions towards Cheon Sa-rang is showing what his heart really feels. Cheon Sa-rang is also noticing it, and she was quite cute when she showed jealousy towards the birthday girl that was flirting with Goo Won.

Another good ending for ep 6, with the shock on Cheon Sa-rang's face after seeing Goo Won. I wonder if her friends will also see Goo Won? If the trailer is an indication, I predict a new high rating for ep 7. Will we see their first kiss next week? I seriously hope we do!!!

  17. I hope it's next week already for ep 5. I'm sure this episode will be a new high rating judging from the scenes we saw on the end of ep 4. Cheon Sa-rang turning around to face Goo Won while a single tear fell from her left eye then tripping and falling into Goo Won's arm was the highlight of the episode.

I wonder if the "couple" picture taken by the lady while the two leads were in their tracksuits would be seen by other people later on. Also nice to see that Cheon Sa-rang was replying to Goo Won's text. Excited to see 4 episodes of flirting and hopefully the admission of love by episode 8.

  18. This kdrama gives me the same vibes with Business Proposal and WWWSK. First saw Yoona in K2 and her performance there was okay, but here in King the Land I find her performance a lot better. It also doesn't hurt that she has one of the nicest smiles I've seen in kdrama.

The plot is cliche but I'm glad Jun Ho's annoying haughtiness seems coming to an end as he's started to be attracted to Cheon Sa-rang. The ratings has skyrocketed from 5 to 9%. Hopefully they maintain it till the end.

  19. Was bored and had nothing to watch so started this drama as it was on my Netflix suggested list. I had no idea Mu-deok (er i mean Jung So-min) was here. I've was almost halfway into ep 1 and had this nagging feeling that I've seen her before. I was pleasantly surprised to find out it was her.

I like the storyline and having the cat is a plus for me lol.

Currently in ep 6 and Jung So-min was quite lovely in the plain wedding dress.

Deng Lun has been blacklisted in China. I don’t think any Chinese celebrity will ever want to be associated with him anymore which is probably why Yang Zi never mentioned him again. We won’t probably ever see him in the entertainment industry ever again:tears: but I hope LYX never ever gets cancelled..I could watch him forever:wub:

    Didn't know about this.

What was the reason for Deng Lun's blacklisting?
