So LuoJiDu was broken into different pieces. The heart is sealed away in the jar, the ribs and bone is used to make Juntain Cehai, soul was used to create God of war. So what is mosha xing??? The left over spirit of LuoJiDu

    Question about mosha xing

    Spoiler

Mosha Xing is Luo Ji Du, Mosha Xing was divided, half of its soul is with the God of War, the other half was sealed in a jar. Mosha Xing disapeared right before God of War was created.

Her name is lanlan.  It seems he will marry her before he marries Xuanji.  And this is a fake marriage.  But the girl is in love with our SF.

    Brace ourselves, angst ahead.

Dijun and Mosha actually were in love but Dijun tricked Mosha, divided it’s soul, made weapons off its limbs, and created the God of War with the other half and put a glass heart in it. I also pick the pieces the drama already gave, HC said he was betrayed before, Si Ming told Teng She the story of the lovers and in the first episode is explained that Mosha disappeared and after that the God of War surfaced. I don’t know if the drama will follow the book, but in the book XuanJi is both Mosha and the God of War.

I also didn't read the book, but read similar spoilers. :sweatingbullets: The difference in what I read is:

      Hide contents

According to the spoilers I read, Baidi was never in love with MSX--it was one-sided on MSX's part. Also taking into account that Baidi as HC is a drama only change, I'm guessing they'll change some aspects of the Baidi-MSX relationship for censorship purposes as well (since the actor for MSX is male). Also taking into account the short scene at the end of 28 where HC says "When I let you go that time, I shouldn't have done that. It was because I couldn't see your feelings that caused me to go through a love trial." I think if they deliberately gave him that line of dialogue (err, inner monologue?) that one-sided crush has a high chance of making the final cut. I still think the story SM told TS is mostly fabricated, but for what purpose? Does it serve the story aside from making SF jealous? We can only guess. The drama might still choose a completely different path though, but imo it would be hella random to introduce a random bride for Baidi at this point.

    Spoiler

Yes, I agree with you that they will make some changes in HC and MSX relationship, probably make them only friends. I don't doubt Si Ming story, I think only something really big could make the God of War rebell like that, and if the God of War didn't love HC, why didn't kill him when she knew the truth? She was powerful enough to do that. And if HC didn't love her, why would he become a mortal to help her pass the trial? Why would Si Ming lie? He wouldn't make anyone jealous by telling that to Teng She. But the past is past, I think now she only loves Si Feng. HC will pay for his mistakes, no doubt it will have a sour taste.

@Nat_93Is that the background story for Bailin Dijun? I also don't think that is the reason. The way I see it, i think it's kind of obsession, he believed he was the one who created her for the greater cause,  so he is the one who can control her.

@pad-hari Oh no...next episode is gonna be a hell ride :bawling: Poor Si Feng, it should have been a happy occasion with XuanJi's dad finally approve their relationships, but alas...:bawling: What exactly did Si Feng's shifu tried to find? And why he only found out now?

@gladiolii I also find it funny with HC & Tengshe, i think he does something to him :D We can always have Tengshe for ice breakers. I love that he likes Si Feng because he cooked him delicious foods, like master and pet, the way to get into their heart is by food :D

I didn’t read the book, this is from the spoilers people gave from the book and Dijun backstory with Mosha.

These are interesting thoughts (the debate about whether HC likes/loves XJ or not)! I'm leaning towards that HC does have some kinds of feelings for XJ. In episode 18 or 19, when XJ's heartbeat was going wild due to SF's kiss, one disciple (I forgot her name) came in to check on her. After she told XJ that her intense heartbeat was related to "love," HC overheard that conversation. The look on his face showed signs of unhappiness, and perhaps even jealousy. For sure he was disturbed lol. Also...when HC destroyed the flower lamp thing, he put another piece of the Kunlun tree into the pot. The flower lamp grew...so does that mean that deep within his heart, XJ is in it?! It might still be too early in the story to really know his true feelings, but we'll see. I suspect that he does like her more than just a friend/mentee.

I'm only up to episode 19, and so I can't say too much about HC's character/I will have to continue monitoring his character development. Unfortunately, it's very hard for me to say I like HC as a character. Though I do think his character is interesting and his character adds another complex layer into the story overall. So props to the writer! Overall, I feel similar to what XxchinesedramacrazexX said. HC is a character that is selfish and his actions and behaviors seem to stem from his desire to "keep the heavenly realm" at peace.

The lamp is a huge giveaway that he loves her, but his reaction also shows that he didn’t know it himself.

I see him as a very tragic character rather than a villain. He said he was betrayed in the past, I wonder if he means he felt betrayed when Mosha rebelled against heavenly realm or when the God of War killed his fiance’s family. He sacrificed Mosha to fulfill his duty with the heavenly realm, then he sacrificed his love for the God of War for his duty again when he had to marry the other girl to keep the realm safe. He couldn’t love her but he can’t let her go too, for me it’s really a pitiful character that will never get a happy ending, probably he is the one who suffers the most because he lost her twice in his imortal life, then saw her fall in love with another nine times, and now again, but since he is mortal too, he can’t hold back his feelings anymore. It’s his antics that reminds me of Night Deity, trying to control and manipulate Jin Mi, creating misunderdstandings between her and Xu Feng, not his personality or backstory.
To end my reflections, I’m totally a XJ and SF shipper, but I wan’t a better end for HC, I wish he could be better and get peace, really, I don’t hate him at all.

It's the scope of the story, truly.  It's so hard to pull off parallel worlds with multiple characters.  I feel like it's information overload every episode, I actually don't think the pace is slow, I feel the opposite actually.

And while most of us enjoy the connection between the male and female lead, I think the story is not JUST a romance but more of the story of Lee Gon vs. Lee Lim.  So to be honest, those who thought they would be watching a romance are all probably disappointed because it's not that so far.

Yes, that’s what I find it boring. The trailers, the previews, all made me think it would be a sci-fi romance, but it’s not. From seven episodes we got two episodes of some romance, the rest is a bunch of disconnected plots, some connected, some just aleatory. The pace doesn’t work for this kind of plot, and for those bashing me for not using my brain, yes I’m using but it’s just not good enough. I’ve watched a bunch of dramas before even without any romance like Forest of secrets. But sorry, KES maybe is trying something different but it’s not working and it shouldn’t be promoted as a romance, because the romance it’s not the main plot here, and sorry to say, the main couple doesn’t have any chemistry at all. Some scenes are so cringeworthy and forced if this was not a KES drama and hasn’t the star power of KGE and LMH I bet the ratings wouldn’t reach even 3 points. And for those saying why I’m torturing myself, last week two episodes were somewhat good and made me stay, the preview with FAKE dialogues and editing made me think some things would happen and bam, it was all fake, this episode looked like third episode all over again, it’s almost the middle of the drama and some characters like the whole police office, the palace doppelgängers, the palace staff could just disappear and I wouldn’t miss anybody, there’s so many aleatory characters that I don’t even recall their names, but now I’m out for good and you can stay in your bubble alone thinking everybody love this drama.

  8. I finally can say I liked the episode. Finally there are pleasant exchanges between the couple and something to look forward too. I wish, tho, the scene he arrived with the helicopter would be better if she really was alone and lost, I mean it’s kind stupid the guard didn’t give her the money first and it killed the mood for me, this drama keeps losing momentum with unnecessary details like that. I agree the PM thing is shallow and unacessary (again), waste of screen time. I think all this episode should’ve happened in episode 3, again I don’t know if it’s SBS stretching it. KES did improve the dialogues for this episode, was a bit funnier and less cringe, more like KES dialogues I do think she should give LG more depth, but fortunately she did it with the lead she was much more likeable in this episode. That’s it, I see the light in the end of the tunnel.

Lols If you was talking about currently on Netflix and not airing on tv than why you was talking about ratings?anyway first of all I give twotm article because this is that drama that you can consider have high ratings between all running shows why you are bringing past shows are we living in past?(I don't know if CLOY was aired on Netflix or not that's why I won't argue about it) secondly what do you mean by fake news or downgrading critics????? Can you mention or quote some of them?

I won’t talk about this anymore, I’ve said enough and even more than I should. Anyone who read this thread since the beginning know what I’m talking about but the moderation is perfectly right, this kind of discussion change the point of the thread: The King.

I hope we have a great episode 5, I hope the leading lady and the king finally get along, I mean, it’s episode 5 the romance MUST happen. I know there’s Einstein plot, villain plot, police plot, politics plot, but what people really want when they watch KES is a good romance and it isn’t happening in the first 4 episodes, the main plot isn’t happening, but it must! I need episode 5 to be about romance at least 70% of it.

I said currently on Netflix not “dramas that are airing”. I wasn’t even comparing to any other drama because I didn’t want to bring more controversy but since you don’t understand exactly what I said here’s an exemple: Crash Landing on You episodes aired one hour on Netflix after airing on TVN and the ratings everybody know what it was. For your concern, I not even whatching TWOTM. Seems like every time someone tries to say anything negative is because probably a fan of the other show hoping TEK fails. You look like can’t have a proper discussion without spreading fake news or downgrading critics.

Thank you for your input that wasn’t needed.

Let’s discuss this after the drama has ended.

    —————————————

Why are people so obsessed with this drama’s ratings anyway? I can list so many dramas that were a huge success and well loved even though their ratings weren’t DOTS per se. I just would never go into another drama’s thread and leave a comment to let them know it was rating low lol. Yes, and? Your point is? It just seems a little too passionate for a neutral viewer and fans would never. So who would? I don’t need to answer that for us to know.

I’m not here for pointing the ratings, I’m watching the show too, but reading the discussion I saw people insisting and comparing and spreading wrong information. I’m just clarifying that. Years ago I watched a drama that was also picked by ratings and compared with another drama airing at the same time, even with names with “moon” in it. But yeah, the show did bad in ratings but who cares? But we did not try to spread wrong information or deny it. It happens, not always the drama we love will do well in ratings. So no need to be delusional and spread false information.

Yes literally it means the same time but 1-hour separation is really not much to write home about. As the above said we avoid mentioning other dramas in here but most aired a day later which means they escape immediate cannibalism on itself. Except two and one of them aired 4 hours later I believe that was the closest. airing immidiately after can have a masive effect obviously which is logical

No they don’t, all the current Korean dramas airs one hour later on Netflix. King is doing bad in the ratings, don’t be delusional about that. If the drama gets better the rating will too because everyone wants to see LMH and KGE.

Improvement, not much but anything is better than nothing. And i think  we can take positive that second half showed growth.

Now next week, i hope it picks up! I am optimistic. Atleast it stopped negative trending of decreasing rating for last 3 episodes and increased from previous episodes in both half.

Now next week, director needs to make it worth watching from very start of the episode. Please more thrills! But i hope the lost viewers,  give it a chance again.because it deserve double digit.

We have still 12 episodes left, but next 2 weeks are most crucial to decide  it's  fate! Let's  hope for the best

Best decision i took to leave negatives out and real good posts here. It made a huge difference

    Nation wide

    8.0% and 9.7%

    Seoul

    8.8%, 10.1%

Yes I will give it another chance, because I love the actors, and I like the writter, I’ve watched all her drama including Love in Paris. But this one, I blame SBS for stretching the drama to make more profit, forcing KES and the director to put in so much fillers, repetitive and boring dialogues to make one episode into three. TVN always go for the quality over fillers, even doing 12 episode dramas. I don’t have another explanation for such poor dialogues, this is not the KES I know at all. If the drama was all out I would’ve dropped it in episode 3, but since it’s only two per week I’ll probably watch it till it ends and just skip the fillers. I really hope it improves because today’s episode was a huge disappointment to me, the preview made me think a lot would happen and the plot would move but it only happened in the last minutes and the rest was a bunch of fillers scenes with no real connection with the real plot. I’ll stay for the actors.

I love everything that you said <3 Thank you for sharing... I cried again reading your words... I miss them so much already :((( The only thing I wasn't very thrilled about was HB's flat expression in the Switzerland finale... It was filmed early on in the series so I guess he hasn't built up enough emotions of JH character yet... but man the last 2 episodes were such roller coasters. The script was so well written and the actings was super as well. Thank you everyone for sharing your thoughts here... it gives me such comfort knowing we all love CLOY and will miss them dearly

I felt the same with Gong Yoo in Goblin’s finale. Those ending scenes filmed early unveil flat, in my opinion.

“Saudade” is such beautiful and complex word, as Portuguese native speaker I can say it’s a lot more complex than that because it’s actually a feeling and for such to have a word for this feeling, psychologists say that it makes us more melancholic than normal. We have lots of songs with this word and is actually more like “nostalgia” than “miss you”. Nostalgia you also feel melancholy  when you miss the past. Saudade is when you feel melancholy for missing someone.

Agree with your comments, I did the same thing you did as it's hard to cover that much ground in one night. But I think I wouldn't have had as much insights as to what is going on w/out the privilege of their thoughts, which thankfully was in the book.

@Nat_93  Fengjiu was born when Bai Qian was in Kun Lun, (timeline) after BQ was 20,000 years old if I recall correctly. People still refer to him as Dong Hua DIjun (an honorific title I believe for his previous accomplishments) but he does not play an active role as the current emperor (DH is retired). DH's role, despite being retired is to ensure that the 8 realms maintain intact/peaceful - so anytime anyone threatens to disrupt it, he will intervene.

Anyway in this story, there isn't that much focus on what happens in the Emperor's court (the heavens) as compared to TMOPB. In the book, it begins with BQ and YH's wedding. But for the sake of viewers who have not read the book, they are going by FJ's age. So, we see her now a young vixen and getting saved by DH, and thus trying to repay him. In TMOPB, this is the equivalent to the scene in the forest where he first saves her and she goes into the palace to become a maid. I think it's better that you don't compare both stories as TMOPB (the original novel) didn't have any details on what went on between FJ and DH (it was put in by the script writer). Thus, you may feel somewhat confused, if you compare.

Am rushing back to my hubby's hometown for CNY shortly, to beat the traffic. :P

To all forum soompiers celebrating CNY, a very Happy and Prosperous CNY to all of you:blush::P:blush:

Yes, that’s what I thought. But It doesn’t explain why everything is so different in demon helm and why some characters seem young.  Looks like it is before TMOPB, not after, thus, Bai Qian and YeHua wedding. Anyways, I give up and will just watch ignoring the timeline. Thank you all for the patience

  17. 7 hours ago, 9tRedFox said:

Yeah, I also don't think Dijun is the emperor, cause basically he had given up on this position before even Bai Qian was born, I believe. It's just that here he fights creatures that we didn't see or hear about in TMOPB.

@Nat_93, it should be even earlier that TMOPB because Dijun supposedly saved her 2000 years before Bai Qian and Ye Hua's wedding.

But didn’t Bai Feiju borns when Bai Qian had already grown up?

Sorry is not that I want to see the TMOPB story in Pillow Book, is just that I got confused with the timeline and where to place things in my head.
