  1. LOL comraades there has been a speculation from my country's local newspapers that the shaman is Seri's mother because both need sweets during stressful times. :joy:

@lavanta it's such a beautiful and well-put review from you. I agree with you that I also support the idea they don't remember meeting each other in Switzerland. I mean, we've been to the airports, bus stations, shopping malls and we interact with a lot of people every day. It's very hard, if not impossible, to remember a strange face after meeting only once. The fact that they encounter each other as strangers and still be intrigued and helplessly attracted to one another is even more beautiful that knowing their fates intertwined.

I'm sure after this series is over , this thread will continue and there will be several pages where us comrades discuss our most favorite scene of the drama. To me it is so hard to pick one, but my top three favorites so far must be the scene where he walked her back to the border and told her that she could date another man but don't ever be lonely again, the scene in Mongolia where she told him "sometimes the wrong train can take you to the right station", and last but not least the soju scene.  Just one thought however, I imagined it would be even sweeter if he gently caressed her cheek as he confessed to her during their drunk moment, and looked at her with yearning eyes (he already did), that will be over perfect for me. Never in the years of K drama experience that I have seen a pretending-drunk scene that has been more emotional.

Just my two cents. Thinking back it's been quite a thrilled emotional roller coaster ride. I can't believe how far they've come and how far we've come from where it all began.

Me too me too.. I was watching MotA last night to pass the week and I got seriously shocked when YJW started yelling at Heeju in ep1 lol. So off putting. But the dimples are on full display there tsk. Unfortunately SG was quite unbearable for me, but MNIKSS was lovely.. I think I watched it right after it aired in 2005 lol.

    Spoiler

I agree, I could not bring myself to enjoy SG either even though I tried twice. I didn't quite feel HB's character in that drama , from appearance to personality, even though I know it was an international hit. I loved MNIKSS too; it was refreshing even though shouting hitting and jerk male lead was still a problem in K drama back then. My favorite of HB before CLOY was Hyde Jekyll Me. Although it got bad ratings because of poor timing, his portrayal as two distinctively different characters were excellent. That drama got a huge forum on Soompi too with about 500 pgs, meaning people internationally loved it. His physique was best in there, so was his clothings.

But now. CLOY is da best. and HB in CLOY is da best. :)

Since we're all discussing about when did RJH start liking Seri...for me, when they're in Pyeongyang and RJH PLEADED for her photo, he already liked her...though perhaps he hasn't realized the depth of his own feelings.

I agree with some posts or perhaps I saw it in Instagram comments. Son Ye Jin is so  pretty eventhough she is crying! Usually people getting uglier when crying until the nose is red. But eventhough she is crying a bucket until her nose is red, she is still pretty. Amazing!

I think when these two have fallen in love is around the market with scented candle. At least that’s when their eyes said so, softer looking into each other compared to previous scenes. RJH denies the feeling of course, because he cannot fall in love with others as he has fiancee. But his acts speak differently.

Along the way, he unknowingly felt jealous when he saw Seungjun held Seri's hand and Seri gave his subordinates mini hearts. Perhaps he started to come to terms that he's liking her when he got very anxious to lose her from his sight in Pyeongyang and blurted out his Avengers-claim "I'll protect you as long as you're within my sight." You can notice the air became still between them at that time...then Seri tried to laugh it off awkwardly while Jeong-hyeok's expression was like "whattheheckdidIdoandsay."

    >>>> I LOVE ALL THE ANALYSIS. Thanks to that comrade's nagging question we got to revisit our (their) old fond and bittersweet memories. It's been an amazing ride, we have bonded over their blossoming relationship. I sincerely hope they (we) get a happy ending that everyone is dreaming of.

  4. OMO OMO episode 12 is the best of best I laughed and sobbed like a fool! :joy::bawling: 20% rating for this episode please please please!!!!

    Moments that made me cry:

-RJH confessed to a drunk YSR that he wants to stay here with her and have twins with her.

-RJH wearing shoes for his little soldier.

-The ahjummas looking out for one another

-RJH and the ducklings witnessed YSR vulnerable

P/S: so our questions have been answered one by one. RJH doesn't remember their encounter at the bridge but he looks so happy to realize their intertwined fates!

P/S 2: I don't need any bed scene or wound dressing scene. It's obvious both RJH and YSR have thought about being intimate, it's natural for having those feelings when being in a relationship. However, they're both aware that this is a forbidden love and their love don't have a future, so refraining themselves from making deeper memories is logical. These two are the most mature characters I've ever seen in the entire K drama history.

THANK YOU THANK YOU CLOY CAST AND CREW AND WRITERNIM for making such an awesome drama. I am honored to be in this roller coaster ride. If you happen to follow fans' reactions and read this line I wish you the best of best in the outcome of drama and achieve the ratings as you hope for.

Writer has been trying to show NK in a positive light all this time, I don't think she wants to show JH just defecting to SK.

wonder if it was JH’s or CCG’s pin that fell in the cave.. where are his clothes? They should be found soon.

    >>>>yup, these two details + the ep 12 teaser "I wanna stay here with you"  make me wonder where the future of RJH is...in his heart which one will be more important? The love for a girl or the love for his country (and also his family and his family's reputation)?

Imo the scene in which RJH walking and watching Seri from afar in Peongyang and stopped by the bus with some empty patriotic slogan and also this scene where someone left the red pin in the escape tunnel are very symbolic. They signify RJH's real struggle that although he may not be aware during daytime (being too busy falling in love and protecting his lover), he may have to deal with it every night when he's by himself. This is still the biggest question of the drama that is currently being hidden by other events that are revolving around RJH and YSR.

F5s in Seoul - the fish out of water was funny but not so funny after a while. It kinda felt a little predictable

I agree with you comrade. Maybe without the teaser at the end of ep 10 we will be more excited.

With that said, I still hope we have a lot of plot twists in store and waiting for us....It's been a very thrilling ride...we may be closer to the land a little bit, but brace ourselves because we will be swooped up to the sky in a minute!

  6. My favorite details after watching ep 11:

    1. That scene where he crawled across the tunnel and my favorite piano piece (that signifies the struggle the couple goes thru to be with each other) was played.

    2. That Pyo Chi Su using the exfoliation service :joy:

    3. Yoon Seri wrapping the scarf around her boyfriend to hide him from the public. She also bragged about how dangerous SK is (CCTV. Camera etc.) Mission Protect Boyfriend at All Cost.

    4. I know Hyun Bin looks good in whatever he wears, be it hoodies or long coat or suits or uniform. However, why am I under an impression that she is dressing him down (to his fullest potential fashion style) because she is jealous? I mean, I've seen HB wearing better suits.

    5. RJH reading comments about himself and be chuffed about it.

    6. That RJH knows how to race a girl's heart by keeping his face so close to a girl in a tiny space (the fridge's space :) )

    7. The writer keep it very realistic and consistent with the situation that yes, as soon as RJH catches CCG he will return to NK. He's not here just simply for love. ( He may change his mind later thou...)

    8. That episode 12 teaser.

Some other musings though: Did I just watch too many K dramas, or I know something was bound to happen the moment he left her? I mean, he knew he was coming there to protect her, why would he leave her alone without any one accompanying her. If CCG is after Seri, the guy will probably always be in the vicinity. RJH is smarter than that.

I'd rather they cut this ep 10 mins shorter but reducing the filler scenes' time. That way we don't feel so dragged about lives of people who are not relevant to the story.

Hoping that anyone who has the power still gives this this series a good rating. The cast and crew deserve this for all of their hard work.

And I wish everyone stops talking about ratings . Just enjoy the show. The world wouldn’t crumble even if this drama records lower ratings. They have done better than what was expected.

I think everyone here talks about ratings not because we ourselves need high ratings but because we thought they deserve high ratings and Hyun Bin wished for high ratings. If anything, seems like many of us on this forum are not living in Korea and do not have the ability to rate :( I'm sure most of you on this forum love love love this drama regardless of what the numbers are.

Let's hope that SYJ recover soon and the cast and crew can have all the rest they need to maintain proper health.

And hope the crew has some free time to glance at this forum to know that we care about them and we truly root for them.

OMO, I am having a hard time trying to focus in anything else while waiting for ep 11 hahaha. In the meanwhile, I have been watching BTS and interviews, photo sessions

I wish we have more English translation for those Instagram video clips. The people in Her Private Life were excellent in translating any latest clips and that just brings the heat of the drama to another level.

Staring at Hyun Bin in that uniform

I could understand why there is an accusation thing going on. I mean, Hyun Bin has made North Korean officer uniform looking way more appealing than South Korean ones imo. He has also twice (here and in Confidential Assignment)  gives me a very false impression about how cool and handsome and wonderful NK officers are. The worse of it is I when I prefer this honorable, serious guy than the playful male character in Descendant of The Sun (I cant even remember his name).  And yes, I am aware of my unpopular opinion :) Argh, guess I'm too old-school.

    Regarding this post:

    https://www.koreaboo.com/stories/north-korean-youtuber-shares-whats-real-in-crash-landing-k-drama/

    Quote

Kang Nara shared that she actually had a chance to advise the Crash Landing On You production team on certain North Korean facts and that about 60% of the show’s portrayal of North Korea is accurate.

And the curtains… The richer families in North Korea like to show off their wealth by adding lace curtains to their windows. So that was pretty well portrayed… And the kimchi cave! Since rural North Korea doesn’t get electricity, they don’t have refrigerators. They have kimchi caves where they store kimchi and that was also recreated well.

...It’s called saseukke when a woman has her hair down. People will comment on it, like ‘That saseukke of a weirdo’ or whatever. It’s considered unacceptable to have your hair down and wild like this. So everyone wears it in a ponytail. That’s why there is a scene that shows Hyun Bin tying Son Ye Jin’s hair. Yeah… Having your hair down is considered a sign of capitalism and not allowed

    >>how awesome is that our writer-nim and production team paid attention to these details? We are watching a very high quality drama in terms of investment and preparation guys. Let's not let the negative news like the accusation spread and affect the effort of these hard working people. :)
