i have been rewatching the last two episodes and feel a bit worried about the situation. as long as rm doesn't address the hate so min receives for no fault of hers and shoves it under the carpet, this will continue. i do worry about how this is affecting her. whatever you say, it is not humanly possible to be impervious to all that hate on a regular basis. it affected her brother enough to make a post about it. so what about so min? i believe she is holding up because she has good people by her side but sometimes even that is not enough.

 

when i watched the hollywood stars episode, i felt let down by the pd as well. it was a golden opportunity to showcase mongdol as a team and celebrate their contributions as rm's women. instead, he started the interview by comparing them saying sjh had received a warmer welcome. 

that continued with the clips as well. the whole point became who made the men's hearts flutter more? who is more beautiful? that shouldn't have been the case. perhaps it was a rehash of lks-sjk where lks was treated like the unpopular maknae and sjk as the star. however, sjk and lks were close friends and everyone knew the cast was closer to lks than sjk. that is clearly not the case here. the two women are being unfavourably compared with each other all the time by the haters. why add to that? you could see how things started becoming less fun from there. so min did note that her clips were not included and asked why that was so. perhaps members understood by then that sjh had to be given more focus in the episode since her clips were longer. only lks went to so min. kjk of course just watched from the sidelines. so min got upset with lks when he took time with the bag and gave him a badge. then there was unfortunate talk about who is better among the two and i felt so min got upset when it was repeated twice to her. jsj was just saying something, but the way it was reported to her wasn't that great. that was continued even when carrying their boxes.

 

so min became slightly edgy after that and started bossing them around when she had started the episode all excited and full of smiles. some of it was for variety but i could also sense all was not right from the way members were behaving. finally when it was revealed that there was a penalty, she sat down in apology as though she felt she had crossed a line. i believe that wouldn't have been the case if they had been given equal due. so min was imposing herself more than usual may be because she felt upset. of course, she did make it funny, but it would have been a funnier episode if they hadn't made a skewed comparison the concept of the race. sjh was gorgeous when she joined the show and did make the men's hearts flutter. that was fine. but so min should have been celebrated as one who drew everyone in with her growing charm over the years. she would also have been in a happier frame of mind if that had been the case. then there was the penalty which wouldn't have gone to sjh even if so min hadn't been bossing everyone around. so min's role is to get the penalties, so it would have gone to her anyway.

 

i believe pd tried to make it up by giving so min a penalty which wasn't a penalty. now that has been used by haters against her. well, he is still learning on the job, but in some of the recent episodes, i see members' tempers flying everywhere. some of them are getting more violent with each other than i have seen them in a long while. so hope he gives them more healing episodes to make them bond better as a team. 

 

it is not like this is new. rm used to be highly competitive and some unpleasant memories remain when things got too competitive. however, there wasn't this much hate in the fandom during those days. there were korean antis who disliked some of the members, but not to this level. today, pd needs to handle things more cautiously. until the hollywood stars episode, i felt he had been doing good in bringing some kind of peace. mongdol were being teamed up more and the two as the sisters-in-law worked well as a team. there were also more sjh fans speaking up for so min but now we are back to square one. 

 

so, let's see how things go. if kookmin are together and want to declare, they would need the team to set it up for them. but for that, there needs to be more harmony everywhere - within the team and outside the team. if i go with the assumption that they are dating, what they are doing now is following their professional roles as best as they can with the hope that when the time comes, the team will support them. kjk supports chanmin whenever they play the couple and there seems to be some sort of understanding there. however, yjs also makes it clear it is a loveline and they don't have a chance of making it real. we don't know whether there will be a stronger push before the awards, but generally, that has been the trend.

 

if things don't get resolved, i fear that unhealed wounds will just fester. so min appears strong, but is a vulnerable person underneath. i also feel that after she came back, she has become a bit more edgier because of what she has gone through. she seems much more care-worn than she used to be - feeling empty in her happiest moments, unable to find the balance between work and relaxation. it is good that she is doing another show where things seem much more relaxed than on rm. she is also doing pottery which is a good way to clear her mind. perhaps she is drinking, but i still feel it is not as much as it used to be in the beginning of the year. kjk also talked about drinking with her and you don't often hear of him drinking other than at the year end parties, so it could be that he is also looking out for her.

 

why i feel kjk can support so min is because he now gets her in a way that shows a lot of understanding. in the hollywood stars episode, after they moved to the second place and members acted slightly mean and upset when jsm was bossing them around, he understood she may have been feeling upset. when he covered her legs with the jacket, so min became all smiles and calmed down. even when others were treating her as unreasonable, he kept on being genuine with his compliments. kjk's bgm for so min ended abruptly and they made the switch to ji hyo. everyone had switched over to praising ji hyo, but kjk still thought of giving her a cheesy compliment when there was no need to do that. i don't know if it would have been aired if the compliment wasn't cheesy, but he started off by asking her if she was feeling uncomfortable and the way she answered genuinely, there could be things we don't see aired.

 

even during the quiz, he kept on praising her as a devoted and thoughtful girlfriend making her smile again and again. i have noted this in another episode as well. that was the episode where jsm pushed kjk when he joined her team and looked kind of angry when she did that. it was coincidentally or not the episode filmed after someone had impersonated her in the message board. in the hollywood stars episode, when kwangmin were fighting, kjk commented that jsm was taking out her anger meant for others on lks. she gave the bomb badge to lks perhaps because she was upset with others but couldn't take it out on them. so who knows? she could have taken out her frustration on kjk when she was just feeling upset overall. kjk got upset but was afterwards extremely soft and sweet with her. that was the episode in which he guided her hand to slice the balloon. so i do believe he senses what she is going through and is encouraging and supportive when she is feeling frustrated. 

 

despite everything, i feel they have a thing going on because of that. they do have a tacit understanding which reveals they spend a lot of time together.

 

all the same, i feel like i have always felt that the team should address this in some way. they have closed the korean comments section, but that wasn't the problem in the first place. i also don't think it was meant to support so min alone, but to stop the fanwars.

 

i suspect there could be other reasons why they haven't addressed it in any way and those are not good reasons when i think of them. whatever happens with kookmin, it would be a blessed day to see this hate end and some kind of justice served to jsm.

if there is a marriage, i feel there will be signs even before that. that is what i meant by the breakthrough. it is now all chanmin on rm and kjk has stopped interacting with jsm on sns. last time, kjk, haha and se chan sent a coffee truck for jsm's drama but this time, there hasn't been any such overt gestures for her movie. there might be indirect support which is why jsm attending jang hoon's show is interesting though it could very well be kingkong. 

 

anyway, from whatever i have seen of jsm, don't think she is the kind to wait indefinitely. that is why i give it one year.  i also don't think kjk's family is going to let him spend one more chuseok without any good news in the horizon.

 

 i also found jsm's recent interview interesting. when asked when she will come out with a movie again, she said "this winter or next year (her voice grew quieter, then louder) whatever happens next year, i promise to come back with a project". i don't know what she meant by that, but is she anticipating something that might put off her drama comeback next year?

 

kjk is also planning to come out with his album and this is RM's 10th year. lots of things are coinciding. will wait it out for some more months. if there is no movement on both their sides, will think it is a goner. it will be 'oppa-dongsaeng ftw' 

this is cute. so min feeling embarrassed after her ears tingle and kjk asks her to turn around. i found it interesting since kjk is not on her team.

so min turns to look at kjk after se chan's ears tingle, but he is busy laughing.

i am not sure if kjk helped her and her 'my name' costar get that interview. so min is part of a good agency now and had participated in 'knowing brothers' even before this. that said, last year so min attended a mall opening in Anyang which kjk also attended some days later and that seemed like kjk's recommendation to me. however, this could be her agency's effort as well.

 

anyway, we don't know how much jang hoon knows. from the questions, got the feeling he believes kjk is single and since he insisted more on kjk than ysc, seems like he believes there is a stronger possibility in that case. i honestly don't expect so min to say she likes kjk there. even when her costar told her he watched rm regularly for her, she was joking he shouldn't act like that when they were doing business. kjk had also said on mud that he is looking for a woman who accepts his love for exercise and that was in the context of how jsm believes women don't like men with perfect bodies. so if she says she likes kjk despite that, it would be weird. they also don't have that history on rm right now. i also believe that she will never admit she likes kjk first even if she may like him. it is just too much controversy to court. jsm did say on hanna's show that when she likes someone, she is the passive kind who admits to her liking after the whole thing is over.

 

anyway, the next episode was the one with the precious sisters. when the clips were shown, kjk didn't say anything about so min and mentioned just sjh. so min then singled out kjk among all the cast and was asking him to be active and win her favour. even when lks wanted to be the crazy fan and kjk recommended him, it was kjk whom she wanted to sing to her. when he covered her with the jacket, so min said 'jong kook oppa is good at these things' when during the interview two days back, she agreed with soo geun that he didn't do things women liked. 

even during the quiz, when he was silent about her entrance, she called out his name asking him what he had to say about her. when she was dancing, one of the first people she went to was kjk. that got edited out though. if she had denied any romantic development between them two days back, then some of these seem weird. she denied that with se chan as well, but then they are the loveline and have to do the work. why did she want kjk to get so involved if she knew there were unnecessary speculations about them she wanted to avoid? 

 

so let's see where it goes. somebody like jae suk who knows the dynamics of the cast quite well may know when to ask kjk and jsm such questions. since jae suk ruled out chanmin recently, seems like he thinks that won't work out. wonder if there will be responses to this on mud or rm. what i know is that jsm has been asking people to set her up with someone for the last 2 years. however, everybody sets her up with someone unsuitable. the last one involved ysc setting her up with someone who had a gf. yjs kept on promising her last year that there was a man he had in mind for her, but that introduction never happened. what is the deal with this? either her friends have bad taste in men or they know her enough to know she doesn't want these  dates to work out in the first place.

 

all the same, we are in need of a breakthrough. let's see how the year ends. if this continues like this for one more year, i don't see any hope.

waiting for the subs, but this is what i understood.

jsm's answer to both ysc and kjk is that if it doesn't happen in 3 months, it is not possible. when kjk gets mentioned, her costar also looks a bit curious and not completely convinced when jsm crosses her hands. then jsm insists he is just oppa. after that, in response to seo jang hoon who talks about the 3 months, she responds to how when people get to know her closely, they think she is better as a friend. after that, jang hoon again brings up kjk saying he is more suited for her. he doesn't do anything that women hate. then soo geun says kjk never does anything which women like and jsm agrees. after that, jang hoon asks something like he is only exercising, so what is wrong with that? then i believe jsm says, 'but he exercises too much.' 

i get the feeling jang hoon has heard a lot about jsm because his analysis of her 'she wants to get married quickly', 'she is extremely romantic' all need to come from somewhere. after all, he is not a fortune teller by profession. of course, as a host, this is information he will have to collect, so may not be a surprise. still, i don't know why he was so into it, repeatedly bringing up kjk and suggesting he is suited for her. he drops ysc quickly, but keeps on talking about kjk. well, he knows kjk more than ysc and he is doing a show where kjk is one of the ugly ducklings. he has also done that to jessi while on mud. still, this was a bit weird.  it is again to kjk that her costar reacts and not ysc. 

 

i am not sure what to feel about it. when jsm has denied things with lks, ysc as well as odm, there has been an element of truth to them. it is a variety show and she is promoting her movie and her costar. of course, with chanmin and her movie promotion on line, the last thing she would do is confirm even if she likes kjk. however, wouldn't that be obvious to jang hoon as well, who has been an entertainer for a while now? why did he keep asking her about kjk?  this was like he wanted her to date kjk!

 

jsm's next sixth sense episode is with cha tae hyun. let's see if he asks her anything. btw any idea when this 'ask me anything' episode was shot.

I didn't watch the fortune telling episode  with jsm and her 'my name' costar but based on the articles, seo jang hoon did ask so min about se chan and jong kook.

 

jang hoon told jsm that she seems like the kind who is ready for marriage. but he told her that should be careful with men and that people with huge expectations about romance like her can end up in the wrong relationship. she might think this is the man in my destiny and end up choosing wrong. jsm then said that she is unable to meet the right man and though she is able to throw the bait, she is not able to catch it.  jang hoon then suggested that so min should go for men with clear personalities and suggested se chan and jong kook. i am not sure about this since there are conflicting articles. some say this was her response to both ysc and kjk, some say this was her response to just ysc. the detailed article mentions this as her response to ysc and since kjk was brought up separately, perhaps this is what was said? so min was asked about se chan and she said that if it doesn't happen in 3 months, it won't happen. jang hoon then told her that it is too quick. so min then said that men when they get to know her well find her better as a friend than a girlfriend. then jang hoon asked her to go for jong kook since he never does things women hate. so min then said he exercises too much and doesn't drink and play around? lee soo geun agreed with so min saying if kjk never did what women hated, he never did what women liked either. then her costar said so min should go for a man who has stopped playing around. but then soo geun said a guy who has once played around will always play around.

 

so min also talked about how she feels empty even in her happy moments and cannot find the balance between work and relaxation. she likes working but when she works too much, she doesn't feel any emotion and that when she relaxes too much, that doesn't work either. jang hoon advised her to feel happy in the small moments and not look for big achievements to get her happiness.

 

jsm was here to promote her movie, so that needs to be taken into consideration. she is also discussing her love fortune on a variety show and i am yet to watch the episode, so there are no body language clues. but yeah, we have to keep an open mind. sometimes, i get the feeling it could be a some that hasn't gone anywhere definite, so lots of uncertainty all around which could explain their contrasting opinions on exercise and so min searching for blind dates. then there are those weird times when  i wonder if they could be dating. but the first option could be more plausible.

Please.. Anyone who specializes in this matter make sure who the boy is? among the reasons that made me suspect KJK is ..

1 .the boy she is interested in and not her ex-boyfriend ..

2. try to observe KJK's reaction, the way he looks at JSM (  before LKS tried to faint for the fourth time) .. and the sweet thing when he used the  somin's name instead 'you' in the pick-up line and the answer to the JSM question

 

when i read your comment at first, i thought there was no way that could be the case. my guess was that kookmin may have had discussions because they do hang out a lot. since jsm loves talking about her love stories to others, there isn't anything surprising in kjk knowing them. that is true  ... but something did smell fishy to me on a re-watch. perhaps it is my delu just like with you, but it is a strong delu nevertheless.

 

jsm specifically asked for the colour of the scarf and when it was revealed as black, everyone said it was an unusual colour. now in cases like this, the listeners have to figure out which bf jsm is talking about and ysc who knows her well tries to figure out things by asking her details regarding the year. he was correctly able to identify one of her exes though he got the answer wrong. now this question is about the colour which must be unusual for jsm to make it into a question and yet familiar enough for the guys to hazard a guess. she says she has a habit of doing this for all her boyfriends, but it is debatable how true this is. if it is a current boyfriend, you wouldn't want to call him an ex, so it is better to say she does it for all her boyfriends. when lks teases her by asking her if she uses the same colour for all her boyfriends, kjk says it would be upsetting if true. jsm then grows flustered and she asks them to focus on the colour of the scarf. now this could mean she is indirectly saying the question is a bluff in some parts and what is important is the colour. it is then that ysc has a moment of enlightenment and exclaims 'black'. now that is an unusual colour for ysc to figure out so quickly because who knits a scarf in black for a bf? now if the bf is one who loves black and ysc knows the bf, then that makes sense. jsm could have gifted ysc a scarf, but i am not too sure if it was black in colour. As we have seen countless times, jsm puts a lot of thought into her gifts, even for friends. so why would she gift a precious friend like se chan with a colour that is not really him? what i find suspicious is that after ysc says black, yjs creates a diversion by asking him how he is so sure about the colour. could it mean he is the bf who received the scarf? ysc denies it. afterwards, ysc tells a story about jsm gifting him a black store-bought scarf on his birthday and makes it the reason why he guessed it right so easily. kjk himself called ysc a smokescreen, so doesn't it seem like a perfect case here?  kjk then says knitting a scarf is hard and implies it is meaningful since jsm must have been thinking about her bf when she knit the scarf. 

 

 jsm goes on talking about how the guy she was interested in covered her with the scarf on a winter's day. when she says she liked it although it smelled of his spit, lks trolls the bf asking her if her boyfriend used to drool. if kjk is the guy, that could be lks trolling him. ysc interrupts lks telling him not to joke like that and kjk comes to the bf's defence claiming if the gf was jsm,  it was no wonder he drooled. one can consider it as kjk trying to flatter jsm, but his usual style is to tease her. he teased sjh but when it comes to jsm, he keeps on imagining himself in the scenario. he imagines how the boy must feel when he receives a hand-made scarf, he imagines why the boy must have drooled.  unlike the others who are trolling her, kjk keeps talking about how he has heard she is a very devoted GF. it is definitely suspicious for me. lol

 

i don't know what their status is, but that quiz and the way both reacted made me very suspicious. if we think that kjk was the guy in her confession song, jsm went all the way to meet the singer in private so he could approve of her lyrics. she also made her confession song the centre of her first RM Korean fanmeet. when it came to the episode, she wanted kjk to participate more, like asking him to sing the BGM or calling out for his reactions from time to time. when she prepares questions, wouldn't she want some things in there to be about her bf if he is part of the cast? remember kjk once claimed he liked taking pics of his girlfriends and jsm clapped and laughed the most? so when it comes to these shared stories, perhaps you also include those which can make your special someone's heart flutter?

i watched  only the opening subbed but i feel the episode was set up more for sjh than jsm.  The premise was that the guys used to see sjh more as a woman once upon a time, but that down the years, they see her as one of the boys. so min has only been on the show for 3 years and they still treat her as the maknae. i also don't think jsm's appeal was her beauty in the first place or her being able to make their hearts flutter the moment she met them. kjk himself has said that she grew on him over time - 'the more you see, the more you like' and it must be the same for some of the cast. lks and ysc have always been her friends and the three hang out all the time. kwangmin share the same agency. jsj picked jsm over sjh in the radio interview saying he felt more comfortable around her. yjs does an additional show with jsm. haha and jsm also regularly interact outside the show. i don't need to talk about kookmin - kjk and jsm drink together, he knows what she is watching, he has her book in his house, she was the only member to attend both his concerts last year and be invited to sing on the stage with her. sjh used to hang out more with the cast before but for a few years now, i don't get to hear those stories. so, just get the feeling she has her circle now and while she must be chatting with the members on kakaotalk or phone, i, personally, feel it isn't as it used to be. sjh has become quieter on the show and now that there is another female member, there won't be that special consideration like before - 'she is the only female member'. so i felt it was pd's way of giving her a special episode which has been her fans' demand for a long time.

i wish though that the concept was about treating the two girls as princesses because recovering initial feelings would lead to comparisons and since both women have different charms and sjh has been longer on the show, it is not a fair comparison. i also felt bad to see kjk being penalised for singing to jsm since the  concept was about the men being nice to both the women and not just to sjh.

anyway,  i don't think the pd's purpose of the episode was discovering the initial feelings for so min. we should keep that in mind when we see the episode. compared to sjh's clips, so min's were shorter and from the way the guys kept praising sjh while being normal with so min, you can notice they did what they were supposed to do. it is a bit sad but to me, it just means those feelings are still there for jsm. yjs also said that - we treat you the same way we treated you when you first came. jsj also said that 'i don't know about our resolution about jsm, but we may have forgotten our resolution about sjh'.

 

so i wouldn't go much by the spartace focus which was again clips used romantically when they weren't like that in the first place. for example, kjk calling sjh "pretty jh" was in an episode where he was recruiting members for his team and he was being sugary sweet to everyone on his team.  the guys also know that, but they are exaggerating because spartace used to be a loveline. i didn't find anything weird in jsm's words to kjk away from the camera. i thought it followed the concept of the episode - the guys had to do more to win the favor of the ladies. since kjk hadn't said anything about jsm in the opening other than that she likes episodes where she is the centre, perhaps it was about wanting him to do more. she also addresses him as jong kookah and asks him whether he has anything to say about her entrance during the quiz.  so  i would take 'you shouldn't stay quiet' as not asking him to be more active with sjh, but to be more active with her. if jsm wanted sjh to be treated as kjk's loveline, she wouldn't have asked him to sing her BGM. that is not usual jsm. she doesn't pick kjk even when she can; so i definitely think jsm wanted to be treated as special by kjk.

 

i do feel kjk was being asked to do more for sjh by the pd because the three clips that were shown to the cast were about spartace. it was haha who was part of the love triangle but only one clip involving him was there. lks has also been quite considerate of sjh during fanmeets, but that was also not shown. ysc also talked about dating sjh in his first episode as a permanent member. that wasn't there either. i believe that is why kjk was also trying to play his role. it was on sjh whom kjk commented in the opening - that she used to be very pretty while the guys were more unsophisticated. he called out  'pretty jh, where are you?' a few minutes later . that is another reason why i believe jsm's words to kjk  soon after wasn't about wanting him to be more active with sjh because he was definitely doing his part.

 

if kookmin have private conversations, it must be at the parking lot like kjk mentioned in a previous episode or those conversations won't be aired.  towards the end of the episode, kookmin have a conversation by themselves in a corner, but it is not shown and the others also talk to take the focus off them. but the way so min touched kjk and put her arms around him is important.  it is much more casual and intimate than what we have generally seen her doing in front of the cameras. so it shows one can't always base their relationship based on what we see in front of the camera. other things may have been conveyed there than the words. that is my feeling. i also wonder if she felt a bit upset that her clips were not shown. she got a bit hot-tempered with lks who was the only one who helped her with her bag. yjs, haha and ysc went to sjh while kjk decided to watch everything from the sidelines. it was after that she went to kjk - may be wanting his attention, wanting him to do things for her. in the next segment, kjk did that. he covered her legs with jsj's jacket.

 

coming to spartace, kjk has a strong friendship with sjh and loyalty because of them being close colleagues and the firing incident which involved just the two, but never seen any romantic spark. perhaps he looked at her more as a woman in her early years, but down the years, it has been just a close friendship. i feel the spark between kjk and jin young - they have chemistry but i have never felt that between spartace.  kjk's mom said the truth - if they didn't date even after 7-8 years of being close colleagues, then it is not going to happen.  whenever he  has been teased about her in a loveline, he has always been awkward.  sjh has been more active in the loveline than kjk has ever been. The questions about marriage compatibility were raised by sjh during the fortune forecast but kjk just joked he has to be careful about sjh.  even when  haha once said sjh got upset when kjk picked hjy over her, kjk didn't change his stance.  haha has tried to pressurize him many times to choose sjh or date her,  but he hasn't done it. last episode, if he wanted, he could have played sjh's husband, but he didn't. this episode too, when they played the clips and said he was shy, he defended himself. first time, he said he was just awkward. second time, he said "you guys asked me to do it". the third time was him being sweet to her as part of the mission to get everyone on his team, but he couldn't obviously mention that. all he did was compliment her on how pretty she was. it was not about having any feelings for her once upon a time.

 

anyway, i thought the episode must have had a conflicting kind of concept for kjk and jsm. kjk's supposed role this episode was all about being extra sweet to sjh since the introductory clips were all about spartace. it didn't have anything related to jsm. on the other hand, for jsm, the concept must have meant today she could make a demand to be treated not just as se chan's loveline. she could demand that kjk also should treat her as a woman - sing to her, talk more about her. that is why she was doing things with kjk she normally doesn't do. she went to him asking him not to be quiet, wanted him to sing BGM to her, called out his name during the quiz asking him to comment specifically on her. kjk doesn't do these things to jsm these days because that would be getting in the way of chanmin loveline. but he also understood what she wanted and tried to do as much as possible - sing to her, cover her legs, say cheesy lines. if kjk had picked up sjh and brought her to the chair at the very beginning, i would have seen something there. but if you watched the proceedings, it was after he got penalised by sjh for singing to jsm  claiming he should be singing only to her. so, sjh was asking him to treat her as his loveline for the day.  sjh must have thought since jsm has her loveline, she could also expect kjk to play his part in their loveline. 

 

i haven't watched the rest of it subbed, but these are my thoughts. anyway, sjh interrupting kjk when he was being sweet to jsm made me realise kjk and jsm both might have professional roles they need to keep in mind when they are on the show. kjk cannot treat jsm differently and jsm also shouldn't demand special attention from kjk. despite all that, they still manage to be sweet to each other.

suk jin's face at the back  i will interpret it as 'they are not the loveline ... pd, what to do?' interesting that when sjh and others objected, yjs brought up yeh to tease kjk: 'are you done with yeh?' lol well, kookmin are not even the loveline, but when they have a flirty interaction, everybody is like 'too much chemistry'! it was also nice to see it was jsm who suggested that kjk should sing the BGM though it was lks who initially offered to do it.  i hope somebody translates the english lyrics for jsm. it is a great song for a woman to listen to!

were the cast having a break when haha shot this? if so, jsm came near kjk's car and later opened the door and at 2:29-2:30 seemed like trying to make eye-contact. he seems to have noticed and also at 2:37 when she shuts the door and leaves. it reminds one of that incident with a woman's eyeliner in kjk's car. 

 

kjk's cheese to jsm today: 'aren't you uncomfortable sitting in your chair because of your wings?'

the theme of the episode was to fawn over the ladies, so taking all of it with a pinch of salt.  still, even with both having different lovelines, i thought there were enough kookmin moments to satisfy our hearts. i saw jsm going to kjk after the opening (don't know for what) and putting her hand around his shoulder and from that and their car interaction as well as kjk's comment that they had spoken at the parking lot, get the feeling they hang out a lot together. while jsm had expressed a wish for kjk to sing the BGM, the man sang so passionately to her that haha had to interrupt it forcefully.  he also answered her question rightly and we had a little kookmin handhold after a long time.

i think she has already chosen since the flowers se chan showed in the preview are on the table. even if she has a choice, i think she might choose between se chan, haha and yjs. i will be very surprised if she chooses kjk. judging again by the opening preview, it is chanmin on one side and spartace on another. so they are likely to stick to those combinations. however, sjh could choose haha as well. anyway, it is all about making it a good day for the ladies, so the guys would all be trying their best. i am not hoping for a lot of kookmin, but something must be there.

 

they will also show clips from earlier episodes and it must be a nostalgia trip for everyone. while they will show more spartace and perhaps kwangmin and chanmin, i am hoping they will show the kookmin scene from the pool.

 it reminded me of how so min reacted to the hand hold after the hula team finished off their dance. everyone else is smiling. 

 

generally, her expression gets a bit frozen at times like this and she has a fake laugh.    she started laughing properly after haha said ji hyo had married once.

 

 if you watch so min in places where kjk has had lovelines, you will notice similar expressions. her smile is somewhat frozen which is why i believe she could have feelings though she generally acts cool about them. i was also surprised by her reaction to the imaginary scenario of the BF offering his jacket to her GF. since jsm has many male friends and has been in situations where her then bf started snooping on her phone to find out which guy she was texting when she was just being nice, i thought she would be more understanding of similar situations involving her bf. but it was like a different set of rules.  even when it was her bestie and her bf was just offering the poor girl a jacket because she was shivering in the cold, jsm found it an upsetting situation. that was surprising for me.

a very interesting episode indeed. whenever it came to questions about jsm, kjk seemed to know a lot. one was about her break up style . he seemed to be telling yjs as much as jsm.  they sure must be having a lot of deep conversations for him to know her that well. the second time was when jsm was asked about what she would like to hear from her boyfriend tonight - say something sexy in a sweet voice or say something sweet in a sexy voice and he was the first one to say "i think i know".   of course, the way kjk looks at her when he roleplays is intense, but i was also impressed by the silence when they stare at each and jsj interrupts saying he should have tried harder.  when kjk defends himself, jsm agrees. usually, members make fun of him when he does these things, but looked like everyone was in a hurry to move on to lks.

 

this is before she chooses. haha says the key word is tonight. i guess since it is night, she might prefer a sexy voice. ysc then sings  "the man of the night". kjk chooses to drink water right before that moment and doesn't gulp it down for some reason.  when he picks the card, his mouth is full of water.  when jsm picks b, the others are  all looking at her,  but she uses the card to hide her face and look at the option of the person or persons  to her right.

the toxic antis are the craziest. when korean antis exposed that many jsm haters were sjh fans after unearthing the #sominout tag, suddenly we had some antis creating fake anti pages for sjh with the hashtag #songjihyoout to prove ji hyo also got hate. if you checked their following list, you would know they were so min antis in the first place. at this stage, the people behind these pretend ships/anti pages need treatment.

 

let's keep reporting these accounts and those hashtags . we don't need such fans in any ship or haters pretending to be fans.

i love how jsj always lets kookmin team up. it's hard to say with the members since there are times they are fine with them teaming up and times when they don't encourage it. sometimes i feel he has a soft corner for kookmin. he sometimes suggests things which make my heart flutter.

1. when the roulette chose kjk as jsm's flogging destiny and kjk appeared hesitant saying she was his favourite dongsaeng, jsj gave some wise advice "hit her as hard as you love her (sarang)" for yjs to change it to "hit her as hard as you care".

2. after kjk complimented jsm on writing trendy lyrics after her confession song became a hit, jsj suggested to kjk that she should write his lyrics from now on. 

3. when kjk was putting his arm around the  jsm standee, jsj was the first to notice and ask, "why are you doing that?"

4. jsm was hesitant to dance with kjk after haha teased her about having feelings for him and tried to dance with ysc and lks. maknae line gave her the  perfect excuse by acting out of breath but it was suk jin who summed it up perfectly

5. jsj thinking of calling up kjk immediately after talking to jsm on his youtube show.

6. after kjk praised ysc in the bus as a good guy, jsj went 'all our members are good ... kjk is good, jsm is good.' why do they always go together in his head?

7. jsj asking jsm what her mom thought about kjk when the others were pushing chanmin. members accused him of being more interested in being the forbidden couple, but kookmin fans know he was just looking out for kookmin.

7. jsj and kjk team having a group discussion about which team's balloons to hit with their guns. kjk says let's go for the team with the least penalties. jsj  says 'let's get so min's team out.' jsm's team had sjh and haha, then why call it so min's team? was it another case of 'hit her as hard as you love her'?

8. kookmin go out on a waffle date all by themselves and poor se chan is sent to bring them back. when they play a word quiz in the next round, jsm answers 'gas station of love' when asked to come up with a nickname  in 6 syllables for her BF . the nickname inspires jsj to compose a song on the spot. suspicious!

i like kjk so much because he is unpretentious.  he doesn't do fan service for the sake of it. he treasures his fans, but never to the point where it becomes fan service. whatever his flaws are, he doesn't hide them. if he is a nag or a miser, it is all out there in the open. some people criticise him for his life choices but they get to do that because he doesn't try to hide how he is in real life from the viewers. he has hidden his girlfriends from the public, but we know the rest of it. we know how he is with his mom, his dad, his long-suffering brother, his friends, his staff whose patience he sometimes tests to the limits, like say his stylist :)). he treasures his manager like a younger brother but it is never used to score brownie points for himself. 

i would say he hides his virtues more than his vices. lks said on healing camp that kjk doesn't like it when his dongsaengs openly talk about what they owe him. i guess that goes for many of his friends and colleagues as well.  he lets them diss him all they want on variety shows but never lets them broadcast what he has been to them. 

 

there are times when i get frustrated with kjk as when he gets too competitive or talks all over people, but i can voice them because he never lets me feel he needs to be put on a pedestal and is above any kind of scrutiny. i love being a fan of a celebrity who isn't afraid to be human. it would suffocate me to be the fan of someone who always has to project the image of an angel. that is why i like the kjk fandom because fans are generally chill. if kjk does something over the top, we can point that out and move on. he lets us be real - real people instead of fawning fans. still, those bouts of hair-pulling come with a lot of love and respect for the person he is. whether it is his work ethic, discipline, will power, perseverance and intelligence or his simplicity, generosity and the ability to forgive and forget, i know they are not easy to find.

 

i wonder if you have come across this  https://m.post.naver.com/viewer/postView.nhn?volumeNo=28343913&memberNo=22346125  it is a blog by a korean mom where she offers parenting tips to other parents.  it is titled "want to be like kim jong kook than yi sun sin?' in the blog, she talks about her 11 year old son's obsession with kjk. her son is so fascinated by kjk that he does push ups on his own even when he is just 11 years old. when his mom asked him why he did so he said he wanted to be like kjk. then mom came to know that her children were watching a show called RM and that they were fascinated by kjk's character on the show - somebody  strong and smart. now the child follows kjk's other programs as well, knows all about his favorite food and lifestyle and wants to grow up as a healthy and strong adult like kjk. in the blog, this mom was advising other parents to let their children find suitable role-models on tv who could inspire them. she said great generals of the past like yi sun sin won't appeal to a younger generation so they need someone they can look up to. she makes her kids draw a table and write about the qualities they admire in kjk. even her son who hates writing gets really serious while writing about kjk. it made me feel so warm reading it and also made me aware of the burden kjk has to shoulder as a celebrity whom many young fans look up to. that may be the reason kjk always says that he wants to live his life well because if he gets into a controversy, it will also affect the precious memories of his fans. 

 

somehow kjk strikes that balance between being himself and being a role model and that is definitely a difficult trick to pull in my book.   so, that is why i am his fan.
