  2. @rozelan Not sure if you've already found it, but this twitter account has archived Ryu Bori's IG posts, including the captions (scroll to the bottom of the thread):

To the new fans of DYLB, this is a collection of tweets that may be helpful for catching up: https://twitter.com/i/events/1311209475219439616 (updated till 28 Nov 2020)

@Sneha @Doan Mai Thanks so much for reading & glad you like it! Real life is getting more hectic, so writing has to take a back seat for now.

    @Jillia @annamchoi We've missed you here!

@ferily FYI, the epilogue will be presented in audio only (Ryu Bori will be the narrator, while PEB and KMJ lend their voices). So it sounds as though the epilogue will be focused on Song Ah and Joonyoung exclusively(?).

On another note, I caved and ordered the ebook script book despite my super limited grasp of Korean. Will be spending time (read: snail's pace) figuring out the script with Papago and hope to leave some thoughts/reflections here on some unseen scenes in time to come.

Hope everyone is doing well and staying safe :)

Ryu Bori started a temporary IG account yesterday to express her "thank you" and to slowly bid goodbye. Apparently she wrote an epilogue (which will be released in script-reading form, not filmed) in the blu-ray. She also mentioned the IG account will only be open for a few days so check it out while it's available. It's now 17 posts and counting.

Curtain Call 67: Attention, members! Do you like brahms? Producer Cho Young-min's surprise interview

"The story of a rocking dream and love of a group of classical music students on the 29th border."

Do you like Brahms, a drama that has been well-received for its detailed screenplay by Ryu Bo-ri, who worked in the classical industry, and for the delicate production of Cho Young-min?' recently ended in popularity.

Let's invite producer Cho Young-min, the main character of the delicate production, to talk about the behind-the-scenes story of the drama shooting and how he feels about ending the show.

Part 2 will be released next week with even more interesting content, including ad-libs from the shoot.

A collection of classical songs from "Do You Like Brahms?" will be released soon, and we'll listen to the main songs together with Lee Sang-min, director of Warner Classic.

Behind-the-scenes stories of "Do You Like Brahms," Jun-young's line in the drama is a true story of ○○○?

Do you like the SBS music drama 'Brams'?' is still popular after the end of the show. Fans are re-watching and proving themselves to be a fan. A related classical album is also scheduled to be released soon. Producer Cho Young-min, who directed the drama, visited SBS podcast "Curtain Call" and gave a review of the drama's production. Lee Sang-min, who is in charge of classical music at Warner Music Korea, also joined us.

Producer Cho Young-min said the actors' efforts were enormous because it was a music drama and they had to act as if they were actually playing. "Do you like Brahms?" Producer Cho Young-min said, "Kim Min-jae can play the piano a little, and Park Eun-bin learned it briefly when he was young. There was always a coordinator on the scene to help with acting. The quality of the first scene and the later scene is very different." Lee Sang-min, director of Warner Music Korea, said, "Music dramas have a lot of difficulties in expressing the parts they play in a realistic way. If the performance scene is awkward, it breaks the focus."

In the first episode of the drama, there is a scene where the heroine Song-ah plays Jun-young through a small window next to the stage. These small windows are only in the Seoul Arts Center. The production team paid most attention to the scene of the first concert set up as the Seoul Arts Center.

Cho Young-min PD said, "The small window to the audience is only at the Seoul Arts Center. But they couldn't film it at the Seoul Arts Center, so they made a set of doors in different places. The most expensive and longest shot is the scene of the first performance. It took about three days. It was hard to record because it was a concerto, so I bought a song. In fact, it was played by Lim Dong-hyuk."

The lines and actions in the play were realistic to classical majors. Although Ryu Bo-ri majored in violin, she interviewed musicians in advance and reflected their anecdotes. In particular, there is a scene in which Jun-young reveals to Song-ah how he felt at a competition when he was young, which is based on an interview with violinist Yang In-mo. It's an experience that people who haven't won the top prize don't know.

"Do you know the first thing that comes to mind when you think of me in a competition? Silence. Silence like the past. I got an award and had a party and came back to my hotel late at night. Obviously, until that morning, I could hear the piano playing in the room, but I can't forget the night's silence, which was so intense that I couldn't be forgotten."

Director Lee Sang-min says he plans to release a classic album on the 16th, thanks to the popularity of the drama.

Separately, we are also preparing a director's version of Blu-ray.

@rafeusjanela @cherrhys88 @annamchoi Thanks so much for your support. It's nice to know that DYLB has so many fanfic writers keeping the nation well-fed!

@Sneha I'm just an amateur when it comes to writing, but I'm grateful to hear that you enjoyed reading my short piece. I'm excited to see where you'll take your story in future chapters. Previews/teasers are always welcome! :)

  5. Sorry I can't join the rewatch party, but I will definitely be dropping by this thread as much as I can. And I will be eagerly anticipating all your posts and updates!

Hope SBS Catch will be generous enough to share more snippets of unseen BTS/interviews/blu-ray promo teasers further down the road. And manifesting a live musical performance by the DYLB cast at the SBS Drama Awards! That would be a reunion performance of a lifetime.

  7. Keeping a list of filming locations in the twitter thread below (ongoing).

Does anyone know where the following scenes were filmed?

    - Ep 16: cafe with Christmas tree where JY gave his grad recital tickets to SA

    - Ep 6 & 10: SA and JY walked on this road lined with small lights along the curb (SA told JY that she didn't want to be that kind of friend with JY + SA asked JY where she could visit his apartment)

    - Ep 11: bridge where JY tells SA that he doesn't plan to return to Seoul yet

Regarding the Blu-ray, I sent a DM to ask whether there would be any English subtitles, but was told that there won't be any. Unfortunately, having no foreign language subtitles is the norm for most k-drama blu-rays. The good news is that they have confirmed additional content:

Couple commentary: Jo Young Min PD, PEB, KMJ

Group commentary: Jo Young Min PD, PEB, KMJ, KSC, PJH, LYJ, BDB (the main 6)

BTS will also be included, but the amount of footage is apparently tied to the prepayment volume (another one of those marketing strategies...).

According to this news article, PEB and KMJ attended pianist Cho Seung Jin's piano recital together with screenwriter Ryu Bori yesterday evening: http://www.spotvnews.co.kr/?mod=news&act=articleView&idxno=388394

    Papago translation below:

Actor Kim Min-jae and Park Eun-bin watched pianist Cho Sung-jin's recital with writer Ryu Bo-ri of "Do You Like Brahms"

Kim Min-jae and Park Eun-bin, who starred in SBS' Monday-Tuesday drama "Like Brahms" (written by Ryu Bo-ri and directed by Cho Young-min), watched Cho Sung-jin's solo recital at the Seoul Arts Center in Seocho-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul on the 4th. Ryu Bo-ri, who wrote the script for the drama with the two, was also with them.

According to officials, Kim Min-jae and Park Eun-bin were invited to the performance with Ryu Bo-ri, who had previously worked in the classical music industry and had ties to Cho Sung-jin. The two drew attention as they watched the performance as if a passionate young Chae Song-ah couple, who dreamed of becoming a genius pianist and violinist in the drama, tore off the TV screen.

Cho Sung-jin played the last song of the day as a sonata in B minor on the list. The song was also played by Park Joon-young (Kim Min-jae) at a lesson by Professor Yoo Tae-jin (Joo Seok-tae) in the 11th episode of "Like Brahms." Rumor has it that Kim Min-jae smiled when the song he played in the drama came out.

"Do You Like Brahms," which recently ended, received enthusiastic support from Mania viewers, so-called "Danwon." After the drama's end, thanks to the favorable response from viewers, the popularity of the drama has continued, with a series of piano pieces, OSTs, and scripts.

  8.

The above is a 3-tweet thread by @/shjsky (twitter). Please click on the tweet for a full translation of the news article.

Papago auto-translation of PEB's Vogue interview (http://www.vogue.co.kr/2020/10/29/박은빈에게-귀를-기울이면/) set out below:

"Park Eun-bin's white, slender fingers had calluses. It is a hard change that occurs only to those who consistently and persistently play sensitive instruments from birth. If you neglect it for a week, it will disappear like a mirage. The callus is called a medal for those who play string instruments. In Do you like Brahms?, Park plays Chae Song-ah, a music student who wants to become a violinist, and she plays all the songs herself without a band. For six months on end, the tiny fingernails, which had been cut closely, had become smaller.

In fact, the actor didn't have to play that far. There are stunt actors for action scenes and bands for these professional dramas. Park had played the violin when she was young, but she had to learn the scales first. "That's right. No one in the production team expected this much, and I didn't think it would work. It's hard to get into position with a violin. I tested CG at first, but it was impossible to change my face because my face was so close to the violin. From the moment I found out, my skills really improved (laughs)." I stood in front of the camera three months after I caught the violin, and now, six months later, I'm listening to Chae Song-ah and Park Eun-bin's violin skills improve with my eyes as if I'm watching the growth of a child actor in a seasonal drama. "I was interested in playing the violin at first, and I wanted to be good at it. When I also felt that the actor wasn't playing in other works, my immersion was broken." The callus on the fingertips told me a lot about how Park Eun-bin was acting.

All of the songs Chae Song-ah plays in the play were actually practised by Park Eun-bin. If she felt something in common, she sensed Park's taste. "My first favorite song was 'Violin Concerto' by Mendelssohn. I've always wanted to play it since I was young. The melody was beautiful and sad, but it just felt like it was falling on my chest. It's hard to practice any song, so I took it for granted, but later I realized that it's a song that even major students find difficult. Bach's "Chaconne" was also one of the most difficult songs that I thought was simply bow-burning. The same was true of Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto. It was all an illusion from my ignorance," I wondered what the steady actor was thinking when I saw him let go of his hand from the instrument at the end of every violin performance. "For Park Eun-bin, did you do it right? Will the teacher say okay?' I'm thinking (laughing. Now I feel a little more comfortable and I'm trying to express my feelings. Thinking about what song it is makes me look natural and my eyebrows are distorted."

Do you like Brahms? has a different breath from the current drama, in which several people have died or have been exposed to hidden family history even after going to the bathroom. Even though some parts of life are compressed, the breathing and emotions are slow and slow like the actual speed of our emotions. Many emotions remain in Park Eun-bin's eyes without being verbally exposed or volatile. "The 80 percent of the eyes I made were determined not to miss the emotional line. Instead of speaking less, I talk a lot with my heart. That's why my eyes naturally follow my heart. We have a lot of abbreviations in our script." "It's a piece that has to express the emotions of lava well." This is an important point given by the price of the shortlist performance.

A lot more below (it's a very long article!):

    Spoiler

In the middle of youth, it is emotions that build up among the four main characters. Though they collapse, fall apart, and become empty, their feelings toward each other build up like blocks. What can never be tolerated in this world is sneezing and the laughter of those in love. Jun-young (played by Kim Min-jae) and Song-a keep smiling just by looking at their faces. "It doesn't say 'laugh together' on the fingerprint. There were definitely a lot of fingerprints like 'Awkwardness' and 'Awkwardness'. I thought that being awkward and awkward was the point. When I acted like that, Minjae and I worked well together. There were a lot of scenes where we were satisfied with each other. There is also a scene where Park Eun-bin was excited. "Was it the sixth episode? I didn't mean to confess, but the moment I saw my face, I filmed a scene that was flowing out of control. I had my hand on my heart, but I felt a lot of heart beating myself."

In fact, I started watching this drama after hearing Park Eun-bin's character description on a radio program. The host asked back, "Isn't it boring if it's good?" and Park answered, "In fact, we're all like that." Park Eun-bin pronounced 'ordinary person' and 'ordinary person' in a bravely. "I felt that Song-ah was a man of energy who forced others to tell stories. I thought I should be a speaker, a listener, an observer. I think I wanted to cheer for all the Song-Ahs in the world, and I wanted to support my life through Song-Ah." And I continued to speak with the calm voice that I heard on the radio. "I like nice people. I wanted to be a good person, never lived a bad life, and I'm glad I'm called a good person. But that's why I feel like I'm always taking tests. I haven't found the answer yet. It's an era of craving for Sprite. You want to retort when someone says something, but I never do. In fact, most people live with patience. He takes pictures of himself with regret and grows up thinking he's lucky to hold it in. Song-ah is not a stuffy person, but rather a person who has the power.”

She also spoke of his unrequited love for Brahms' life. "I like consistent people. They have inner firmness. People who stick to their own things, whatever it is, and live just firmly in their direction. In that sense, it's amazing that Brahms has loved Clara all her life. Brahms became famous for his unrequited love because it's that difficult. "Is it possible to have unwavering, consistent, and unswerving love?" Of course, this actor, who has 25 years of experience this year, clearly distinguishes between drama and reality. I also know the psychology of not wanting to see reality in dramas. "People who see her may like her because she's similar to them, but they may hate her because she's similar. So I thought a lot about it. I thought the drama itself was less stressful than ever. The atmosphere on the set, the staff, and the fellow actors all liked it, so we always smiled. But I couldn't sleep as much as when I was shooting a movie. I couldn't sleep well and woke up quickly and woke up in the morning. He must have felt burdened apart from his thoughts."

Do you like Brahms?, except that it shows a soft, flustered feeling, actually reveals a cold stare. In some fields, talent can never be overcome by effort, and just because you like it, you can't do it all. The moment you face a reality that you don't want to face is revealed without wrapping or putting a buffer. Actors are also considered desperate for talent that is given only to a small number of chosen people. I wondered how often the girl, who started her career as a child's clothing model at the age of five and debuted two years later in the drama "White Night 3.98," had to open her cold eyes to gain confidence in herself. "When I was a kid, I was the one who wanted to do it, not my parents. So I did my best. But I'm really introverted. At some point, I was confused about whether an actor would suit my aptitude when I saw someone around my age who was full of talent, sociable, and seemed to enjoy acting. At that time, a senior artist advised me that I have a much more capable personality and I have the potential to act. I believed that if I sublimated my feelings into acting, it would open up a better way, and I could spend difficult moments with that belief. Sometimes I think about what it would have been like to be a born actor, but I think I have no choice but to work hard in my own way."

There are 45 dramas that have appeared until the age of 19. Actor Park Eun-bin's filmography is vast and extensive. It is Park Eun-bin's power not to collide with her real age, age of her character, and personality of her character. When he was 22 years old, he played Heo Jun's wife Da-hee Ah-si in "Guam Heo-jun," showing the entire life of a woman until her old age, and Song Ji-won in "Age of Youth" who was picked as the opposite of herself, remained a life character. And now people recognize Park Eun-bin just by hearing her voice. In the Stove League, "You crossed the line!" You scream like a thunderbolt, but in Do you like Brahms?, even if she confesses "I like you" , Park does not disappear. Especially, over the past few years, I have made my work more exciting because it's Park Eun-bin. When asked about the work that became a turning point, Park chose "The Door of Secrets" without hesitation. "I found it an interesting and valuable experience as an actor to play the role of Hyegyeonggung Hong and develop my character. I learned how to put more than what was given in the script. Thanks to that experience, I was able to experiment with my limits in "Age of Youth." Ever since I was young, I had a sense of self-efficacy that I thought I could do well in whatever I did. In "Youth Age," I felt that the viewers liked it as much as I tried, so I gained confidence.”

Now she says the process is more important than the result. When asked if he is an "entertainment fairy," he corrects that the modifier from the "Stove League" is not old. "Honestly, do you like Stove League, Brahms? All of these are works that I wanted to do regardless of the result. There have been some works that have not been done well, so I may have calmed down, but the process is important to me. Even if the results were good, it could be festering on its own and it wouldn't be a box office hit, but it could be a good movie. I hope that I can leave meaning to someone if I work on my work without being too happy. I'll choose what I want to do in the future, but I'll also consider how it can affect the viewers.”

Park tends to objectify herself when talking about acting. This is how it's like this. "I'm also watching you act life, not me. For example, I think every moment I feel that 'Songa knows how to make that expression' makes me continue acting." To Park Eun-bin, acting seems like a process of learning about life. Listening to her story, the character she played unfolds on a screen in the air. "I try to rule out the idea of 'what would have been like if it were Park Eun-bin' when I acted. I added my personal opinion and thought, "Park Eunbin wouldn't have done that." Sometimes, I think that role and combination are blocked. That's why I can tell that it's not Park Eun-bin but Song-ah's face. That's a lot of fun." It's not a method acting, but rather a switch to turn off and turn on the character switch. It sounds like he is running a "bucca." When asked to choose a rich hopeful, Song Ji-won of "Youth Age" comes back. "I was very shy at first because I was a character at the opposite point when I was acting. I was like, "What's wrong with him?" But we got closer and more comfortable through season 1 and 2 for 2 years. I have a lot of embarrassing moments as Park Eunbin. If I think about turning on Song Ji-won's mode when I feel embarrassed and want to run away, I think I'm going to be confident." When I'm in the work, Park Eun-bin saves energy like a squirrel that collects acorns. "A character like that needs a lot of energy and often calms down. When I don't act, I can use all my energy for myself and come back to me. I think that's how she lives." When she turns on Park Eun-bin's switch, she reveals that she has never felt bored or felt lonely. "Have a good time alone. I couldn't have felt lonely in the first place. My mom has developed the power to stand on my own feet without relying on anyone." Because of occupational diseases, I think, "How can I express my Korean work if I did it?" When I want to rest completely, I watch Hollywood actors' SF movies or Marvel series. I don't imagine myself in a Marvel movie. "I don't want to do it (laughs). I want to keep their world separate." Private Park Eun-bin can't become a YouTuber due to lack of content, and she's happy alone, but it's more fun when she laughs and talks with the staff on the set.

The music that resonated at the moment of intense life remains a medium of remembrance over time. Schumann's "Troemera" will bring about a moment like the light green air this year. Like 'dreaming' and 'fantasy'. "I'm with Song-ah for three seasons, spring, summer, and fall, and it smells like rain. It rained a lot because of the typhoon, and it contains a lot of metaphor in the drama. I also think that the feeling of rain is similar to that of Song-ah, who is 29 years old. I think white will come to mind over time. I used white violin case, but white suits me best. 'My 29-year-old was in line with Song-ah.'

The reason why Song-ah likes the violin is revealed in the last episode. "Violin is a two-legged instrument. The part that matches my body and I can breathe with the instrument is difficult and good. Even if it's the same song, the interpretation is different depending on the person who plays it and the bow is different. The sound changes depending on the movement of the body. There is a violin, and it's not played by a person, but it's like a person and a violin are resonating together. That's why I started to like the violin."

After answering, Park raised her body and looked at me in the eye and asked, "Would I have answered enough?" It was time to go back to Chae Song-ah. There was still a fourth episode left. The wind was cold and the blue sky was dazzling, but somehow it was late autumn with the smell of rain.

  9. Papago translation of https://m.nocutnews.co.kr/news/5437089#_enliple set out below:

Why Park Eun-bin and Kim Min-jae Like Brahms
"SBS' Monday-Tuesday drama "Do You Like Brahms," which was well-received for delicately portraying the story of a 29-year-old youth who eventually finds his way in front of dreams and love. The title borrowed from the novel of the same name by Francois Sagan drew attention even before the official broadcast, and music took up a large portion of the work because it was a story of music students majoring in classical music.
I met Chae Song-ah as Park Eun-bin on the 20th and Park Joon-young as Kim Min-jae on the 21st, the day after the drama ended. Chae Song-ah, who eventually became a violin major after graduating from a prestigious university and failed to give up her "love for Violin for a long time," and Park Joon-young, a world-renowned pianist who goes on overseas tours after winning "second place without first place" at the Chopin Competition, asked them again. "Do you like Brahms?"
Park Eun-bin said she didn't know much about Brahms until she joined 'Do You Like Brahms. "I didn't know any other song than one that was really famous like 'Hungarian Dance.'" In Brahms' "Sunaebo," widely known for his devoted love for fellow musician Schumann's wife Clara, Park revealed that she had a longing heart.
"The fact that Brahms never got married and could live in a crush on Clara for the rest of his life is a very pure love. I was inspired as a composer, so I left a great song, but I was able to keep my pure passion. As a person, he's like my favorite ideal type. I felt that I was a person who could devote my whole life to something and love it with my heart. I didn't live in the same era as Brahms, so even though I don't know all the details, I think Brahms was a pure lover. When I try to think about whether I can continue to like something with such a pure desire, I think that Brahms is admirable or admirable."
Park Joon-young, played by Kim Min-jae, was the character who said, "No, I don't like Brahms." Would he have overlapped with the lonely Brahms between Schumann and Clara? In the play, Brahms did not play any of his songs. But Park eventually plays Brahms for her beloved Chae Song-ah. Kim Min-jae also said in a previous interview that he was asked "Do you like Brahms?" and that he replied, "I love you."
(Jun Young) I didn't like it, Brahms. After a long time, I fell in love with it. Like that, I was in this work, so I was comforted, encouraged, and confident. Through this work, I got so many things from people like me. I've come to love my work more."
Park Eun-bin and Kim Min-jae, who played violin major and world-class pianist, respectively, were impressed by their own performance in the drama. Which song was the most memorable for the two? Park Eun-bin listened to Bach's "Chaconne," while Kim Min-jae listened to Schumann's "Traumerei."
First of all, Park Eun-bin said, "The writer selected an important song according to the content, but I learned about 10 songs because I heard that I can practice the violin as my favorite song, but only a part of it went out on the show."
"It was certainly Bach's 'Chaconne' that went out (on the air), but I thought Bach's 'Chaconne' would go well with the scene where she played alone in despair because of his talent." As you will know when you listen to it again, it was somewhat tragic and sad, but it was it was beautiful. So I chose the song and practised it, and by chance, in the scene of the Jungkyung's recital, they chose Bach's "Chaconne." What is it? Did you choose this song to prepare for it said. I didn't ask, but I was amazed to see it again in the drama.
"I don't think I can forget it," Kim said, citing the song he practiced the most. I think I can play with my eyes closed. Another song that comes to mind is "Moonlight Sonata"+"Happy Birthday Song." In the third episode, Jun-young played a song for Song-ah who hurt her heart. It's also a song that I've practiced so much. "When will I play with the orchestra?" He also did not miss
Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2. The song that I listen to the most these days is Schumann's 'Dedication.' It's because the melody is good. "I actually like all of Junyoung's piano songs.""

Regarding the above article, it's interesting that Park Eun Bin chose Bach's Chaconne as being her most memorable piece (it was ultimately used in Jungkyung's scene and kudos to Park Ji Hyun for nailing the performance of that difficult piece with such emotional impact). I hope PEB will post an IG clip of her rehearsing Chaconne one of these days too.

    p.s.

I've also made an amendment to one paragraph in the epilogue regarding the Brahms' piece performed by JY in the epilogue. Many thanks to @rozelan for proposing such beautiful piano concertos.

  10. This seems to be the final BTS:

It shows world-renowned pianist Son Yeol Eum playing Widmung (she did the studio recording for Widmung at JY's graduation recital). Such a powerful and beautiful rendition of Widmung. Kudos to the DYLB production team for delivering such a stunning performance of this piece. (Son Yeol Eum won the Silver Medal at the Tchaikovsky Competition in 2011.)

I wish they also showed us some BTS of the graduation recital itself to demonstrate how the cast and crew pulled off this feat. But that's being greedy. They've already given us so many BTS clips, promotional clips and even special video compilations. It's time to say goodbye even though the heart doesn't want to let go yet.

  11. @Jillia Oh, I actually meant the BTS of those scenes. Because the final unreleased video is under SBS Catch's playlist, and knowing that they will save the "deleted scenes" for the bluray, doubt we'll be lucky enough to get the additional/bonus scenes of the drama itself.

But I LOVE your idea of additional scenes that should have included in the drama. p.s. this twitter thread quoted below has a collection of some of those deleted scenes we need to see!

Some think the wedding ring shopping scene could have been HH rather than JY based on the back-profile and long-sleeved white shirt (not rolled up per JY's usual style) @cherrhys88 Sorry, I can't rem if you were you the one who reposted the photos here. Do you know?

A new interview with Ryu Bori, screenwriter of DYLB (Papago auto-translation reproduced below - please forgive the inaccuracies):

'Brahms' author, "If you've done your best like Chae Song-ah, I believe that's worth it."

'Do you like Brahms?' The writer said about the message she was trying to convey through the drama.

"Do You Like Brahms?" depicts the growing pains of 29-year-olds in diverse and realistic ways. People who seem to be in a position of no shame were experiencing their own growth pains, while those who belatedly jumped into their dreams were suffering their own growth pains.

But through this process, each path was different, but grew up in his own way. Do you like Brahms? In the final episode of ", both Park Joon-young (played by Kim Min-jae) and Chae Song-ah (played by Park Eun-bin) were able to have a happy ending.

In a written interview with HeraldPOP recently, writer Ryu Bo-ri said of youth in the drama, "The main characters of the drama are not characters running at full speed, jumping obstacles toward distinct goals. Young people who pause on the boundaries of school and society and take time to find a way forward," she explained.

This could be the most wandering time between dreams and reality. However, even if I give up my dream in the face of reality, I think I will have less regrets if I did my best until then. Wouldn't I know by myself that I did my best here, not by any quantitative indicator or by others?"

Regarding the message he wanted to convey through the drama, he said, "Some people find their way fast and run fast, and some people do well from the beginning, but I hope they don't hurt themselves thinking that I'm behind others just because I don't. If I did my best to love and try my best without regret, I believe that it is a valuable time and will surely be a nourishment for the future in any form. The future is about the accumulation of time in the past, he added.

From Park Joon-young and Chae Song-ah to Han Hyun-ho (Kim Sung-chul) and Lee Jung-kyung (Park Ji-hyun), they grew up and sought their own happiness. She continued to write about their growth history by asking, "Am I happy?"

When the word "happiness" came out, writer Ryu explained, "I once talked to the director that if there was a subtitle in this drama, it would be "Finding Happiness." "I think 'the way to find happiness' is to cherish and cherish myself as I live my life to the best of my ability to regret every moment. We are all imperfect and lacking in our own ways, but no one else seems to value me unless I value myself. I believe that only when my center is firmly in place can I be happy wherever and whatever I do."

The point at which the drama drew particular attention was that it incorporated the relationship between Brahms, Schumann, and Clara, who were real musicians, into the character. Their story went through the whole drama. Do you like Brahms? As " became the talk of the town, the love story of the three people was also talked about among the public.

Was there any occasion for Ryu to incorporate the stories of Brahms, Schumann and Clara into the drama? In response, he said, "I thought classical music was a good fit because I wanted to write a story about someone who had a crush on someone else for a long time. Classical music is literally something that has been loved for a long time, and I think doing music is interpreting and loving the music written in the sheet music in my own way."

"Then I remembered the stories of Brahms, Schumann and Clara, one of the most famous love stories in the history of Western music. Considering Brahms' love here, his lifelong crush on Clara did not bear fruit, but I wondered if Brahms was a failure or unhappy. I wanted to think that I found something to truly love and that I was happy just because I did my best in that love, so I got to share the story of these three people.

"Do you like Brahms?" which has produced a lot of fans throughout the show. Lastly, Ryu said, "Our main characters who are now past the chapter of their lives will be happy, sometimes hurt, and sad, but they will eventually live their lives solidly. After the 16th episode, I want to leave the future of the characters to the viewers' imagination," he said, asking them to support the future of the characters.

  12.

It's Sunday again but I don't look forward the first Monday without DYLB...Think SBS Catch will probably drop the final BTS tomorrow. Wonder if it will be some bonus scenes from ep16 or even earlier episodes?

    My wish list:

    1) JY's graduation recital - Widmung performance

    2) Graduation scene - SA, JY, MS etc posing for photographs in graduation gowns

    3) JY's and SA's couple photoshoot - that endearing series of black-and-white photos they took just to insert one photo into SA's violin case

  13. 2 hours ago, MidnightRain said:

I have a question about the ost, there is a song sung by a male vocalist that doesn't seem to be listed in the ost, but there are some lyrics that goes by "please don't leave me stay with me my love". It was played at the end of episode 6. It's driving me nuts, does anyone know what song it is? Thank you in advance!

Edit: I was looking up info on the ost on weibo and the song is sung by 10cm and was supposedly to be a part of the ost. No idea why it's not released though. Boo, I really liked the song too. Actually, this entire ost and the instrumental are really good. This whole drama matches the season well.

Many fans have raised this question too. Unfortunately, I also haven't heard the reason why they aren't releasing as part of the official OST.

SBS has created its own "parallel scenes" collection!

    My final thoughts:

@Abirami Ramakrishnan The intro animation did nothing to help us predict everything that transpired in episode 16! So many drama fans were in despair after being trolled by the ep 16 teaser and bracing themselves for a "this is reality" sad, bittersweet or open ending. Did you say you're thinking of writing the scenes that you wished we saw in the drama? Please say you will! Thanking you on behalf of the drama fans who are feeling salty about the many deleted scenes.

  14.

Excerpts of my favourite parts of the article:

"To describe the drama, Park Eun Bin chose the word “talent.” She said, “There’s a saying that vaguely having talent for something is tragic. I related to that. Being vague means that one is not exactly good enough to dominate in that field nor bad enough to give up.

Park Eun Bin shared that she had felt this way toward acting. “I thought a lot about what my talent could be. But once I see how I’ve held on and continued acting without getting tired of it, I think persevering is a talent too."

"On the drama’s conclusion, Park Eun Bin commented, “Even though we’ve said that the drama is about the process of finding happiness, there were a lot of people who thought the drama had a sad ending. I thought that it was a happy ending where everyone could agree that they’d found their own path to happiness.

She added, “Among the viewers who supported Chae Song Ah on her search for happiness, I think there are people who began to do so after finding similarities between themselves and Chae Song Ah. I thought that their hopes for Chae Song Ah to be happy was like their own happiness, and I’d say that these viewers were most likely satisfied with the ending.”

Deoksugung Stone Wall Walkway was used as the backdrop for so many scenes:

    1) JY's solitary walk - phone call to SA

    2) JY-SA first walk together

    3) SA's solitary walk - feeling down after seeing JK leave JY's apartment building

    4) JY's solitary walk - post break-up

    5)  JY-SA's second walk together - during the "waiting" period that SA requested from JY

    6)  JY-SA's third walk together - a date under the cherry blossoms in spring

    7)  (Bonus) JY's Brahms album cover was photographed here too ;)

  15. From Kim Sung Cheol's agency featuring some fun BTS between HH and JK:

And it does seem that quite a few scenes were edited out of the aired footage which is a huge pity. One imperfection of DYLB for me is that some of the most annoying side characters (Professor Duster, PSJ etc) received too much screen-time at the expense of the main narrative. (Thank goodness they wrapped up on a good note in the finale!!!)

  16. I don't quite know where to start. I began watching DYLB without expecting to be so emotionally invested in Song Ah's and Joonyoung's lives. But their story resonated with me deeply, and I needed to see them find their own paths to happiness.

The courage to let go of a cherished dream and the strength to keep on dreaming. The courage to love that overcomes the fear of getting hurt. There's so much to say, but perhaps music speaks to the heart more directly than words:

@annamchoi @Jillia @rafeusjanela @Y.Q. @vangsweetie637 @Abirami Ramakrishnan @cherrhys88 @Sneha @debbsthebee @rozelan @Ameera Ali and many many more who have been here in this thread. Sorry for not being able to tag everyone but please know that you've not been forgotten. Thank you so much for being part of this memorable journey :)

  17. Just finished watching with subs and will need more time to organise my thoughts about ep16 and the drama as a whole. Thank you so much to everyone in this thread for sharing the DYLB journey with me. The feelings that I can't put into words yet. I will save the long goodbye for another time when my heart feels ready.

Dropping this here - the BTS will be premiering at 2pm KST today:

When watching ep16 (SA's "goodbye to her beloved violin" scene), remember to notice the photo in her violin case. It seems to be this one:

@Ameera Ali Thanks for the gifs in your post below! JY who always puts himself before others tries too hard to accommodate everyone without caring about himself. And dearest SA who knows him better than he knows himself.
