  1. Good point....Isn’t in the Japanese culture, when the woman’s hair is stranded down...it means she had just slept with a man the night before.
  2. Anyone has the link to BTS where Yukee got bitten by the horse? Thanks!
  3. Also when they were in a cave healing her, ZM said she’d die protecting both her family and WJ. WJ then responded that he know she’d strongly keep her words to that. That’s one of the biggest reason he kept on pushing ZM away knowing that they’ll have no future together. However, After the wedding crash he realized how both of them have the same goals, at that time he had no more reservation but to pursue his goal to be with ZM. The script writer has a very modern interpretation of relationship - love comes with responsibility, family, and end goal together - the bonus is to be with someone whom you have chemistry with. Finally WJ realized all those aspects to be with ZM - that’s why you can see him going all out with her.
  4. Yeah, I didn’t like the fact that they put this scene in also, since It sorta defeated the purpose of her being smart and it did put ZWJ in a difficult situation. I hope they direct it in a way to make the Ming Sect knew as you mentioned above to portray how they disapprove of ZM and ZWJ being together for political reason. I do have a feeling that they take this script down the political route, from the beach scene and the lake scene when ZWJ rejecting ZM and the fact that they made ZM father die at the end and ZM pointing sword at ZWJ forehead. It’s another heartache for them before they are able to be with each other.
  5. Don’t you doubt ZWJ love for ZM. His looks tell it all. Even if ZM is sick and want to hand her the fruit first, he can’t look at her with those eyes if it’s not out of love. And his eyes toward ZZR is completely reserve.
  6. I think the modern way of acting is to convey emotions through eyes expression, unlike the older dramas where they exaggerated through a lot of body gestures. I like how subtle and warm it is. Joseph’s acting is definitely convey through is gaze and one can tell that the way he looks at ZM is different than other girls and he is attracted to her the most.
  7. Yes I agree with you, it’s the jealousy that always get the worse out of people. ZZR has a priviledge on the good sect and considered to be the model girl material. She is pretty, gently and has support from her sifu to become leader and Ming Sect to marry ZWJ. She doesn’t know how to use that to her advantage. She could have both fame as leader of her sect and to win ZWJ heart if she knows how to act wisely. I do feel that she lacks confident because of her upbringing, plus jealousy that ultimately leads her down the wrong path. As for ZM, she has the huge disadvantage for being a royal Mongol who constantly tries to defeat the sects. That’s why no matter how hard she tries to prove her love for ZWJ, she’ll not get the support that she needs. ZM is an admirable character in a way that despite the opposition, she’s strong and confident enough to go against all odds to choose love besides everything else. And for ZWJ - When think about it, I no longer think he’s wishy washy, but somewhat wise in love because he waits and weights his actions before acting upon it. Clearly he has feelings toward ZM, but won’t choose her. In this way, I think he’s more realistic - having strong feelings toward ZM, but controlling it because he knows there are important aspects in life besides love. In this way, ZWJ can be a likable character because I don’t like the kind of Romeo and Juliet love - galloping and dying for love without considering other factors being at play like responsibility, and family.
  8. I can see your frustration the way they portray ZWJ in this version. But isn’t his character always wishy-washy? I think in this version they made ZM more in love and desperate over ZWJ, which I think other version doesn’t show as much. In return they do show a lot of infatuation moments of ZWJ towards ZM. I think Joseph portrayal as the ZWJ in love with ZM doesn’t come out as strong because the director seems to spotlight ZM love in this version (which will make Yukee, the actress memorable as ZM). But I do notice ZWJ gaze and look towards ZM in all the scenes they are together, are very special compare when he looks at other girls. And when he was forced into making a vow to marry ZZR, you can see he was unwilling to because he knew he has feelings for ZM. Also it seems like until this point, ZWJ stance for the Ming Sect is the priority over love. He is somewhat similar to ZZR in this stance protecting the sects against the mongol. So I think he does somewhat feel ZZR will be a better match as a wife, knowing that ZM and him have no future together as opponents, even though he has stronger feelings toward ZM (it’s modern concept of picking a wife - mind over matter). I can see why ZWJ chose ZZR out of logical thinking.
