  1. I don't think Suho and JuGyeong broke up in epi 15. Based on the translations of the preview, SuHo just said "Don't wait up for my calls and sleep well", due to time difference. I think it's just the editors playing with our minds wanting us to think that they broke up! *fingers crossed*

Ditto to SuHo being a great boyfriend, he definitely only live in dramas and webtoons. No perfect man like this exist in real life, sigh!

So I read that the text preview is out from one of the chinese sites and it roughly translates as:

SH and JK part with sadness. JK finally realised that the small boy in the comic bookstore was SH all along, and feels even more sad. In the meantime, time passes by....

JK is now a university student who is interning with Selena, her idol.

On the otherhand, SJ confesses his feeling to JK and leaves JK panicked and shocked. JK is then reunited with SH at a special place like destiny..

firstly let me start off by saying that i'm a HUGE shipper of king x queen and like many others, i am one of those crazy fan who replay the kiss scene to get through the week and i'm equally disturbed when this dude kiss the queen when she's vulnerable OR when the dude stops the queen from reaching out to the king (like wth dude?!) :rage::rage::rage:

minus abovesaid ethically fraught scenes, now if this drama was written from cousin pov, what i like about his love for the queen is he puts her happiness/wellbeing/safety first above all else and even as his life mission.

and i would say we need to see things from his shoes. u can't really blame him in the sense that the queen's only direct indication on her relationship matters so far is that she's just pretending to be lovey dovey with the king for practical reasons. so naturally, he thought the queen is in self-sacrifice mode for the clan. and then all he ever saw ever since she entered the palace is her crying, jumping into the lake, someone trying to kill her (made worst when he realized it was the king himself), her falling into vegetative mode for some mysterious reason and the king "demeaning" her by showing his affections for another woman publicly.. which also led him to call the king a possessive loser or in other words, why act all territorial when you don't even like her in the first place.. which also led him to go all like "you crazy girl [my insert] then why you even get intimate with the king when you knew that he tried to kill you/ you don't love him" (before he gets cut off by sobong crazy existential antics).

as much as i hated that he stopped the queen from reaching out to the king, sure he might have been a sour grape when he did that but on the other hand, he might have worried about her safety and secondly, to avoid the clan's misunderstanding that the queen stands with the king.

while sobong bailed the king out in many occasions, similarly cousin bailed her out. if he didn't come to sobong's rescue outside of oktajeong, drama would have ended at ep 2 as the case of misadventure of a husband and wife. and he did let her go in the first place because she had looked so happy to enter the palace.

my theory/speculation: as it stands out, it's all a big misunderstanding. he's turning into a villain out of his desire to protect the queen because he's afraid that if the king gains power, he will eliminate her. i believe he will either raise to the occasion (somehow helping the king in some way while helping the queen) or fade to oblivion once king and queen sorted out how they really feel and publicly acknowledge it.

Hello guys, new to this party and loving Mr. Queen to bits!

Unfortunately, Byung In is one character that I really can't stand. I don't understand where he gets his arrogance from intruding into the King and Queen's life without a care. Even Kim Jwa Geun (his adopted dad) was civil until the latest episode. I completely echo SoBong when she uttered "he's still the King" when she realized how brazen Byung In is. Loving someone doesn't give you the right to take advantage of that person's marriage sitaution (ie. Kissing So Yong when she is distraught) and definitely no grounds to intrude into the other person's marriage life. I still don't understand why the writer wants to write the 2nd male lead this way, its so frustrating to see him when usually 2nd male lead is used as a tool to evoke jealousy from the main lead.

I can understand Hwa Jin a little more but am definitely not a fan, she's acting the role of an entitled bi*** who is secretly jealous of the queen and thinks the world should love her. Its the cliche nasty female lead route, hence I turned a blind eye.

Back to the leads, I am loving Shin Hye Sun and Kim Joong Hun for their portrayal. SHS really embodies the goofiness and mannerism of a man without appearing too awkward and when she is "aroused" by the new consorts, it doesn't look unnatural at all.

KJH was perfectly cast in this drama. He gives off a sad pitiful vibe which befits his character yet can pull off being charismatic.

My other grouse now is that I started this too early and getting through the week is just crazy hard :sad1:

Bai Lu recorded a Vlog with luo yun xi during the fan meet! So sweet!

First part: Bai Lu introduced her special guest Yuan Shuai and Luo Yun Xi said he self invited himself. Their interaction here is really friendly and you can see that Bai Lu is very comfy doing goofy stuff in front of Luo Yun Xi.

2nd part: Practising for the song

3rd part: Bai Lu bidding goodbye to LYX like a fan girl waiting to see her idol:byebye2:

I also fell in love with the dog. For the Mandarin speakers out there, what is the name of the dog? I see the translation as being Wealth, but when I googled that, another word, sound came up. Thank you!

The literal translation for Wang Cai is "prospering wealth". "wang" means prospering "cai" means wealth. It is very consistent with their investment banking character, haha!

Love this show too and having withdrawal symptoms now. It had me hooked from epi1 to 36. Such a perfect ending and I especially loved the portrayal of matured love between both leads. It was refreshing to watch indeed!

PS @nuttyz I am sad to hear that BaiLu was having a difficult time. It did look like she had fun on set with everyone, cast and crew. Good to know it was a healing drama for her, like it was for everyone who is watching the drama too.

And she mentioned LYX knew about this too?

Yeap, she mentioned "LYX knows what this drama means to me and what I was going through during that time"

She didn't specifically mention what happened during the interview. But some on weibo was discussing about it could be because she and her family was under attack because of her dating rumours with Xu Kai. The C-Netz were trashing her and her family during that period. But again, we don't know what specific circumstamce she was going through. Happy to see that she healed from filming this drama. You can see how much she adores and treasures everyone. Her new drama "Overlord" just premiered and there's barely any mention on her weibo if you compare to the amount of promo she did for LIS.

  6. https://m.weibo.cn/7339882702/4563553094733934

For those who wants to watch the entire fanmeet, here it is.

Bai Lu seems very close to LYX. In her ending remarks, she mentioned that filming LIS was extremely healing for her because she was also going through a difficult period that time and that LYX knows what's going on. She mentioned that the 4 months of filming LIS was like a dream and she is very happy when she gets to meet Yuan Shuai at the film set as if she is meeting her boyfriend. She then corrected herself (wanting to be politically correct and not associating herself with LYX but rather from the viewpoint of JJ). She added that the actors chat group for LIS is still very active and LIS is definitely one of the best drama group that she has ever been.

I like how frank and comfortable both are with each other. There's no awkwardness between them and they are probably good friends offline. I'll stick to shipping them onscreen rather than in real life. Loving both their personalities!

BailLu has strong roles in general. I watched The Legends, Arsenal Military Academy and Luckys First Love and in all of the three she was excellent. Always trusted her partner and never let them down or act like damsel in distress waiting to be saved ... She is cute yet strong when she needs to. She is also beautiful and i think she has unique face among her peers tbh (this is my opinion).. she can pull off the cute face, the elegant look and can act like a boy (in AMA) ... She is flawless. I hope she will have a great career, she deserves that.

I shall watch her dramas to tide me over after this drama ends (+ rewatching n times).

I'm already feeling very sad about next week.:criesariver:

  8. Spoiler

I loved how in today's episode, JJ figured all out on her own via deductions, it is very in line with her character. Her character supposedly graduated top of the class with am double Masters in Psychology and Economics.

I get very annoyed when the FL started strong at the beginning and suddenly becomes dumb and resort to being a damsel in distress. She's really a rare character in East Asian romcoms who doesn't need a prince to save her every trouble. I also really liked that she stood up to YS in yesterday's episode saying that she wants to tackle the colleague issue on her own. Particularly loved the "I'm an independent woman, I don't want to rely on my husband" remark while she fell asleep on YS shoulder. It is very consistent with her character.

BaiLu is just lovely in this character. She's cute but I think having a deep voice and somewhat matured look makes her character a lot more believable as a fresh and naive investment banking analyst. You'll need to look like you have some brains, carry some depth in your speech but still look pretty for a ridiculously hot man to wait for you for more than 10 years. There's not a lot of actress who can pull off a freshie Inv. Banking analyst who can look the part but still pull off the aegyo.

And then pair her with LYX, I just died and went to LIS heaven. My favourites have got to be those natural pecks and kisses (on the sofa, in the cut bts scenes at the airplane) . It's just so real, I'm rooting for them to be together in real life!!

It is the drinking scene with the mother and LYX n BL kept getting NGs because the glass was just too full.

Bai Lu mentioned this was one of the 3 hardest scene to control her laughter and that she had to tactically cover her face so that the camera doesn't catches her laughing. :P

I still don't understand this drama's schedule. Last week 12 eps were available in dramacool and such illegal sites because VIP users got more eps and people have ripped the eps from them. So this week too VIP users will get more eps, right? If I knew I had to wait till Sunday for the next new ep, I would have slowed down on watching this week's eps. I'm all caught up now and I can't wait for the next ep. Sighhh.

VIP users only get 6 episodes in advance, so the only advantage of having extra episode is during the first week. After that, VIP users only get 2 episode updates per broadcast day but is always 6 episodes ahead of the normal user.

Did she say 'i love you' before he went into the operation room?

YS knows her parents so i dont think he would do that. I hope i am not wrong because this could ruin it for them. :(

Hello all, I couldn't resist joining this thread while waiting for new episodes this coming week!!

Yes, she did say "Loved you" while YS was being rolled into the operating theatre. I reckon it was ad-libbed and it was sort of like a parody for comic sake where people being wheeled into operations or dying often have last wishes to clarify, and in this case YS was pulling her leg saying he has one last question, hence she just rolled her eyes and said "Loved you" to shut him up for being so dramatic.

I love the bickering between the pair and LYX pulled off such a charming "domineering boss" role that makes him so endearing. Bai Lu is also phenomenal in being such an adorable dork that I have a massive girl crush on her. Both are such a visual to watch that i can't wait for Sunday to come!

  12. Such a great ending! Hyun Bin with his hair swept back is just yums!!

Overall I really enjoyed the series, it's probably the only drama with the best chemistry I have ever witnessed. It's so good I overlooked the scenes with the NIS agents being jokers haha. While the scene of them reuniting at the Military Demarcation Line was really romantic and touching, it was also dangerously close to reigniting the Korean War. I'm glad that they didn't proceed with the reunification ending, it would have been too much of a fantasy. The ending was really bittersweet, kind of like how Sam Sook likened their love to the "cowherd and the weaver lady".

Great leads and supporting actors, sizzling chemistry, beautiful cinematography, interesting premise albeit a little too fantasy (eg. How someone like RJH disregarded his parents safety for a woman he knew for a month?) and great comedy. I will treasure this drama for a very very long time.

Goodbye comrades! Now I'm just waiting anxiously for dispatch to expose our 2Ri couple dating in real life!!

@nuttyz how great is CLOY! Ohhh yes my friend recommended Find Yourself but there weren’t many episodes available so I was waiting for a few more to come out before watching. It’s kind of like Something In The Rain I hear (if you haven’t watched Something In The Rain then you should definitely watch). I’m always up for a good romance!

Yeah that’s true :tears: is the remake different to Enchanting Phantom?

I also just realised he didn’t win any awards for GMP which is disappointing. I think this was due to the channel the drama was aired on though. He was definitely the break out star for 2019 so hopefully he gets more recognition this year!

    Off topic from CXX-

    Spoiler

I am a huge Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin shipper after CLOY, I don't think I have the stomach to watch Son Ye Jin being lovey dovey with Jung Hae In hahaha! I saw some clips on youtube and boy were they super cuddly/touchy in Something in the Rain. I don't understand why they can't replicate those lovey dovey scenes in CLOY! Gets my blood boiling sometimes when they just stare off each other when the feels is sooo much more. Their chemistry is insane and they would make such cute babies that it's a crime if they don't get married, lol! #enough ranting#

Back to our little CXX, did we hear of any news if he is still with Hu Bing Qing? I can't wait for that show (with her) to be out actually, he looks really good in a suit.

Now that GMP is on Netflix, I'm super tempted to start a marathon on the whole series again :phew:

@Erafera1 @jewelsc @nuttyz @pad-hari  Hey Soompi pals! Where have you all been hiding and hope you’re all well! :D I’ve been in the Crash Landing On You thread lately but always find myself popping in here hehe

There still aren’t very many updates on CXX’s new projects. Looks like MDL has added one more drama to CXX’s works for this year, Fall in Love, so if all goes to plan, we might get CXX as a soldier after all

Hello peeps! Guilty! I have also been camping at Crash Landing on You

Yeah, he doesn't seem to have new dramas to be aired in the pipeline but like @jewelsc mentioned he has a new movie remake of Leslie Cheung's “A Chinese Ghost Story" to be out soon. In my country, many Chinese movies were not screened during CNY due to the Coronavirus outbreak. I reckon many upcoming shows/movies will be disrupted because of this epidemic.

In addition to CLOY, I also started watching "Find Yourself". I always found it hard to watch Chinese contemporary dramas, but this is really good that I got hooked from Episode 1. It talks about Noona romance and deals with issues faced by women over 30 on love, compatibility and social expectations. So far, I've really enjoyed it. The leads are really good looking too

  15. Just watched Epi 14, and I also won't be surprised if the ratings wouldn't rise up further. Epi 13 and 14 felt very very draggy with very minimal plot development. I agree with someone who mentioned that they should have just killed CCK last epi and moved the plot with Se Hyeong and dealing with the sticky situation that JH and his minions are in to fill the remaining episodes.

I don't know if you guys feel this but I just felt SR and JH gives off the "super tired vibe", maybe it's because of the back to back filming. The emotional scenes are still phenomenal, but somehow feels like it lacks something. Thank God JH kissed SR this episode, the lack of skinship in this latter half of drama is just dumbfounding!

It was for her release when she crossed the border and came into the S.Korean military's custody, to confirm and verify her status as a Korean citizen who was in NK under duress. So the father was certainly aware of her situation and she probably contacted only him when she made it back to the border. I think father cares and she is clearly his favourite, but has to keep an apparent distance because he needs to appear impartial before his children. Yet he truly knows his sons are useless. As for her mother, I'm not too sure how I regard her. She seems like a very conflicted person. And why wouldn't you be? Whether or not you have a loveless relationship with your husband, fact is Seri was a product of an affair. There's some level of betrayal there. Yet for the sake of name and face, you are made to raise her as your own daughter. I reckon the public may not know that Seri is the Chairman's illegitimate daughter - after all, for her to be raised in his household must mean she was placed under his official family register. But it certainly is a known fact, and the brothers have that resentment towards her as well. It is clear Seri does not actually know her biological mother. I wonder what happened with her real mum. Was she simply brought into the Yoon household from birth?

    @gilaswan, thanks a lot!

Now that made sense, so both Seri and Dad were pretending during the family dinner where the mum was absent. Yeah, I hope we get more backstory on what happened in the remaining episode. In addition to what you mentioned, I guess the mother is also conflicted because Seri is probably the only one with genuine love for her and gave her the least headaches amongst the three kids and adding to the fact that she probably had guilt abandoning her when she was little.

I recall seeing the Yoon family taking a family picture in the opening credits, I wonder if that signals a happy ending for the family, so it will be interesting to see if the evil 2nd brother and sister in law actually turns good towards the end. Eldest brother and his wife are just pure dimwits, lol, they'd just run Queens Group to ruins.

  17. I tried looking through the threads and didn't see anyone mentioning this.

Does anyone know what papers did Seri's father sign during his supposed "overseas trip"? I'm really curious about the backstory of Seri's family.

The mum definitely loves her in her own way, I can't really place what the father feels about her coz he appears so indifferent most of the time he is onscreen and epi 12 is the only time he showed any signs that he cared about his daughter.

  18. I apologise to the drama gods for complaining about filler episode 11. I friggin loved epi 12, probably my favourite episode yet. I went from aww, to laughing and clapping hard then teary eyed within that 1.5 hours.

    Loved loved loved!

    1. Soju scene

The confession was so in line with RJH's character, not saying i love u, but with actions of getting married, having babies and growing old together. It was so bittersweet on both side that they acknowledge each other's feeling in silence so that it doesn't become too hard on the other when they have to separate again

    2. NK Ahjumma support scene after the harsh talk during the laundry scene (super touching, you really only see the real side of people when you are down)

    3. F4 and Seri's reunion

    4. Backhug

    5. Insurance agent and Seri talk in the car

    6. RJH playing computer games was really funny

By the way, today was really PPL galore but it was woven in so fluidly I have to applaud the writer! Daebak! :phew:

  19. Yeah, I also felt the plot for episode 11 was very slow, unlike previous episodes. Typically I always that felt the episodes just finished very quickly, but today I was checking the time a few times and felt a lot of scenes were really unnecessary.

    1. SD n SJ - it felt very rushed to immediately develop a second loveline. Would have been better if they had a heart to heart about SD engagement and how she sees JH now to have some sort of closure (?) , rather than rushing to have SJ falling in love with SD

    2. North Korean Ahjummas - Granted it was a foreshadow of what might happen to the villagers, but almost 10 mins of that was painful

    3. CCK and SR - If he'd wanted to kill her, why not just do it at the lift area where they walked passed each other????? Bug for me

    4. F5s in Seoul - the fish out of water was funny but not so funny after a while. It kinda felt a little predictable

Oh my poor shipper heart, I'm  dissecting every piece of information/video for evidence. If they do end up together, they will be like a modern fairytale what with their looks and status! Kinda like Ji Sung and Lee Bo Young!

But yeah, the Swoon videos were very telling of Hyun Bin's fondness over Ye Jin. In one of the interviews, HB was staring at YJ so intently towards wrapping up that YJ had to nudge him slightly to look back at the camera. I don't see that in all his previous interviews with other co-stars, he must have been really smitten by SYJ!

  21. Hi shippers,

so to tide over the wait for episode 11, I scoured youtube for all videos of their interactions and also compared it with videos of their other co-stars. There is definitely a lot more warmth and sparks flying between bin jin compared to the other co-stars.

With the exception of the Swoon videos, "the piano" and "SR running towards JH" BTS scene, I noticed that they are a lot more reserved in the press conference, other interviews and even in some of the BTS (JH and 4 ducklings, the coffee making, the Pyeongyang chicken). Somehow Hyun Bin seems a lot more reserved compared to his love-shooting-out-of-his-eyes vibe during the Negotiation period. Son Ye Jin is still her cute, upbeat bubbly self.

I still think they dated during the Negotiation period up till early 2019, you don't just travel half the globe to do grocery with an opposite sex on their birthdays, what more 2 mega stars who are known to be lowkey at that.

Now, I am confused if they are reserved because they want to avoid more scrutiny or things didn't work out. What do you guys think?

With all those BTS images flying around, I wonder whether they would delay the subsequent episodes. They literally shoot scenes 1 week before their air date.

I don’t know why I am always on top but have nothing to share.

Anyway, my prediction for the upcoming episodes:

    Episode 11:

    1. SR tells JH about her return to Seoul. Maybe related to her father etc.

    2. JH tells SR why he is in SK without mentioning his real motives (aka to catch the evil guy).

    3. The evil guy approached SR’s brother (can also be the other way around).

    4. SR tells JH about her family issues.

    Episode 12:

    1. F5 finally meets JH and SR.

    2. Shopping time and probably dining with CJW.

    3. SR finds out the real reason why JH is in SK.

My expectation: please have a healthy relationship that is appropriate to your age!

I believe that the rest of the series will not only focus on SR’s family but also the conspiracy behind all the dramas in NK.

    PREVIEW 11:

Me loving RJH's new hairstyle and that suit in the new preview! Omo, those broad shoulders and dimples are to die for!! :phew:
