  1. So looking forward to tomorrow (tonight?), guess it depends where you live. I've been in a bit of a lull - with only one or two shows that I'm actively following, so Justice will add something new to the rotation. Even if it's bad there will be CJH to look at :D.

  2. Yay, what exciting news. @Hannah Truong I too hope that he keeps his Last Empress hair as well, or just a bit longer and styled away from his face. I'm kind of amazed how quickly he can gain and lose weight from his face.

Justice is the series based on a webcomic right? Is anyone familiar with it, to know how dark his character will be from it?

Thank you @booha for posting so regularly about what he's up to. I've been reading older pages of the forum and noticed how long you've been at it.

  3. A nice conclusion to the series. Thank you @stroppyse (I think it was you) for the explanation above from the director's cut about the taped questions.

Enjoyed the comedic parts of this episode, like when Healer showed up to the cafe to kick butt. YS's dad and ahjusshi's reactions were hilarious as always. And their parting was sweet. I really feel that JCW could have chemistry with a cucumber with the way he can gaze at another person.

Liked how the baddies were always one step behind this episode, but kind of odd that they actually thought they had JH/Healer in line.

The ending was also cute. What I find somewhat odd is that when BS came back to work at Someday a few episodes ago he was bored with the daily routine and always sleeping on the job. So it wasn't clear that he'd be able to live "like everyone else" the way he wanted to. But now at the ending they show him getting his adrenaline rush from undercover photography of sorts. But, couldn't he have been doing that before? I like happy endings though so I'm not complaining.

Agree with @Dhakra the lack of mother daughter reunion was weird. The only reason I can think of that they didn't do it, is so they could have the scene where YS tells JH that they'll disappear together if they can't clear his name of the murder. Where YS says that her dad will understand and her mum doesn't know for sure that they're related.

@Dhakra I was also thinking of you when the chords of "oh my love" started up at the beginning of the episode. I think you'd had a reprieve after episode 15, but then here it was again.

All in all a good series that I was happy to rewatch. Thanks everyone for your comments, and insights (much more in depth than mine)

  4. Finished episode 19, and the kidnapping part got resolved more quickly than I expected. things I noticed this episode:

I remember when I watched this the first time I got tired of the flashbacks, but haven't found them as bad this time around - I guess they all happened at the beginning as set up, but at the time I just wanted to know about the present. This time around I knew where the story was going so didn't mind them. Along the same vein - I remember that I really disliked MS at this point round 1, this time I just find him pathetic.

Happy that Myung Hee has found some strength and moved out of MS's house and has started helping out at Someday. Also confused whey they haven't told her that YS is her daughter - it seems to me she'd be fine with happy news, it's bad news/difficult memories that usually cause her seizure. That along with perpetually taking sleeping pills can't be the healthiest thing for her - which it also seems she realises because she's stopped taking them to not feel so muddle headed.

I didn't mind the separation when Healer goes underground again, mostly because they showed both characters thinking of each other fondly, and they didn't drag it out excessively. Then we get to see everyone together at the end ready for the last showdown.

@Dhakra liked YS in her red dress - I think she's looking pretty good in the black trench in the ending montage. I've enjoyed all the knitwear that various characters have been wearing all series as well.

    Onto the last episode...

    • It feels the whole episode is pure fanservice, Healer finally meets Hacker ahjumma.

This is good to know. I got to the end of 18 when YS was kidnapped last night and wanted a break from angst, so took a break from watching any today. I forget how the ending goes, but do know it's a positive one. I seem to remember that the detective is going to clue in that ahjumma is involved, and at some point she needs to clear out of her house.

I've enjoyed the comfortable relationship YS and JH have had now that they're together. Have also enjoyed that they're getting along with MH now that his motives are clear.

BS sleeping all the time at work is pretty funny, clearly he's not cut out for an office job.

  6. I still can't figure out how TLE went so sideways. Even though Sunny and Woo Bin never said as much, I felt that all of their interactions/looks at each other were that of mutual understanding and love. They both knew that since she was married they couldn't do anything, but once they'd dealt with bringing down the monarchy they'd be together. But then scenes between them all but ground to halt, even before CJH left.

I also never felt that Sunny had one iota of compassion for Peyha - even in the cutesy scnes, she was always glaring at him, or trying to disguise her disgust.

I'm on board with you guys on that "Third Time is the Charm" romantic comedy with the two of them.

Just finished Tunnel last night, I was dragging it out to enjoy it for longer and I'm glad I did. I liked how it ended, though I kind of wished they'd had a quick scene, or even just a family photo on the wall in 2017 with all of them together.

  7. My weekend ruined my watching goal again, but I'm getting caught up - I'm midway through episode 17 now.

After episode 11, that I thought was kind of filler, I found that the story moved along nicely. I didn't mind that it took our couple awhile to get together after YS knew that BS was Healer. It took awhile in terms of episode length, but it seemed that they had progress any time it was a scene with just them.

I enjoyed the eventual hookup/bedroom scene, one of the better ones that I've seen in a Kdrama. When BS was draped all over YS  while she was cooking I felt her pain, my sweetie is always doing that to me when I'm trying to get stuff done in the kitchen.

I enjoyed how quickly YS got over the betrayal about her mother, and I'm to the point now where she asked JH if he's killed anyone to which he was relieved that she finally asked. Though there was nothing stopping him from telling her, I don't know why he was all angsty wanting her to ask first.

Secretary Oh continues to be sooo creepy, that character was very well cast.

Yes, but Healer is still in his hiding his identity from people mode, including from YS. Even though he knows he likes her, he's still uncertain about revealing who he really is to her. It was YS' idea that it would be okay for her not to talk or to see him, as long as she knew that he was there. So, against Ajumma Hacker's advice to let her go, Healer went on the "date" with her because he couldn't help himself. He knows that Ajumma Hacker is probably right that YS could find a more ordinary man who could probably make her happy in an ordinary way while he himself has loads of issues, including the whole wanted on a murder charge thing, but he couldn't make himself stay away from her. Even at the end of the date, he couldn't bring himself to not hold her hand, even if it's just for a moment before she leaves. I suppose I have sympathy for Healer's basic conflict with himself with respect to engaging with another person, especially someone he likes, whom he's not sure will actually like the real him back.

Haha, yes I knew why he didn't sit with YS I just envisioned him walking behind her, telling her not to look to the side then sitting next to her. He trusted her to not look when he was one row back, so could have also trusted her when he was right next to her.

  9. @stroppyse thank you for the explanation. I think I missed that Moon Ho was the one behind the Doble S guards trying to stop Healer in the first episode.

Just watched EP 11 - it was kind of filler. Maybe @Dhakra you're right about the pacing falling off at this point.

The date was cute, but he could have at least sat next to her so they could snuggle.

  10. @Dhakra I agree with pretty much all the points you made...except about the red dress. I can appreciate what the wardrobe department was trying to do - I just felt that the dress could have fit her better, or maybe if she'd had a better bra? I can see the appeal though, definitely a departure from the loose sweaters she's normally wearing. I did think her makeup was really nice and well done, different from the fairly clean face she normally has, but not over the top and garish.

Loved the rooftop beer date, and with BS looking at her with that gaze I can't believe she didn't fall for him.

Question - at one point Moon Ho says that he thinks Healer is going to switch sides and hurt YS, so he wants the detective to put security on her. Did I miss something? Why did he think that all of the sudden?

And, the transformation scene as BS and YS are turned into people who could pass as guests to a high society wedding are so hilarious, though they do look rather different and amazing after the transformation.

I was trying to remember if that scene was from this drama or some other one. I think I'm almost to it, I remember that I liked it first go round.

Also liked the post elevator rescue scene, but think I preferred the rooftop scene when Healer gave YS the external hard drive - it seemed more intimate and touching. Though Healer feeling all woozy after the kiss was funny.

  12. Have watched up to episode 7 now, but I should have commented as I watched them because now they've all blended into each other.

I've decided that the thing I like most about this show is the dynamic between Healer and YS, especially on the rewatch I find myself not paying as much to the other scenes if they're not in them.

    So my favourite parts were:

Healer watching YS and talking to Ahjumma, but then getting distracted when YS started her dorky dancing.

Healer (as BS) protecting YS in the greenhouse from seeing the baddie beat the woman.

When BS (dressed as Healer) and YS have their phone conversation. Which was kind of ridiculous, because by then end he was so close she would have heard him.

Healer getting the hard drive from the baddie's office, giving it to YS, and then sticking around to chat/hold her hand.

    Honourable mention to:

Healer handcuffing the driver of the white car to the steering wheel to get information from him.

  13. As predicted I got behind on the weekend, caught up with episodes 3 and 4 yesterday, might be able to squeeze in more than two today.

When I watched the drama the first time, it took me awhile to see if I was going to like it. This time around I knew that I'd like it, but started to enjoy it more when YS and BS started working together. The dorky BS is the best, I liked the scene when he was trying to help YS escape from the lunch room and the chief only to run into Moon Ho (is that right, not great with remembering character names) in the hallway. Also liked when YSs dad and the convict barista conered BS in the office after he brought YS home drunk.

Other impressions - Healer needs to develop better eating habits, everyone should just go eat all the food Myeong Hee is making.

Edit: Haha, spoke too soon, the next scene I watched BS got invited to eat breakfast with family. Mmm, now I want to make braised potatoes.

  14. @flutterby06, that human emoji tweet you found is the cutest!

Now that the FM in Taiwan is over, I'm hoping we'll hear soon about a positive confirmation on his next project Justice. Though perhaps he's preparing for that HK thing at the end of the month.

  15. I found the show to be so enjoyable. I find that you rarely see characters in dramas truly laughing - so to see an actor genuinely pissing themselves laughing can be infectious.

It seemed to me also that maybe he's matured a bit, and doesn't worry so much about how people view him. That might also come with having a fairly successful career built up now.

I have to agree with his thoughts about his mature look - it seems to me as though he looks as old now as he did when he debuted. If he's lucky he'll look 35 for many years to come.

The part with the food at the end made me want to take cooking lessons from his mum - but, at the same time made me pity his future sweetie - is he going to expect them to wake up at 4 a.m. to cook the family breakfast?

  16. We Will Channel you has been posted on Viki, and even though my Korean language skills could only at best be described as rudimentary, I couldn't help myself and decided to watch the episode in fast forward. It looks like it's going to be a delightful hour of CJH giggling along with the hosts as they poke fun at him. Sadly, though it's filmed in a gym, there's no working out.

Maybe you can just skip parts of the episodes and re-watch the bits you like best.  ;)  I've done that before.  It is really fun to watch the whole thing but not if it costs too much time or stresses you out.   I'm gonna do my best, too.

Here's one more:  I also noticed Kim Mi Kyung (the actress who plays Hacker Ajumma) in a very minor role in a couple of episode of  I Hear Your Voice (which I just happened to binge-re-watch last weekend).

Thank you for the tip. I think it's just this weekend that I'm going to have trouble keeping up since we have house guests. After that it shouldn't be a problem.

If I remember correctly Kim Mi Kyung more recently is the mother in My Strange Hero.

Just watching Episode 2, and got to the dancing/singing scene at the Coffee Bay. JCWs facial expression as the dorky teenager watching it is priceless. I quite like him in his Healer persona, but this dorky bumbling self is pretty cute too.

Btw, one of the things I had kind of forgotten that I really liked in this drama, is how they handle the younger selves to older selves transition. I rather thought it was neat that it shows their younger selves who then morph into their older selves once we had met the younger selves. It provides total clarity in terms of which character they are, while keeping them in character.

So I think on my first watch of this I missed the morphing part. Now that I know the plot, and know that there are younger and older versions of the characters I appreciated this detail during the rewatch.

Hearing the soundtrack again caused me to smile. I like that it's pretty upbeat, keeps the drama lighthearted even though the subject matter is a bit darker.

I'm not sure if I'll be able to keep up with the two episodes per day rewatch, but looking forward to the discussion.

  19. That sucks about his knee bothering him again. Seems like it will be a chronic problem for him, since we also saw him wearing a brace in the pool scenes of the Last Empress.

I hope he feels recharged after the successful FM and some rest, and will release information about his next project soon.

The interactions with the child actors are pretty cute. For his personal wellbeing I think he needs to work on having some of his own - from any interactions we've seen either on air or behind the scenes he seems to genuinely enjoy being around kids

  20. Thank you again @booha for finding and posting all of the Taiwan FM photos/videos. Not sure about all of his fashion choices, but I like his jeans and button up look. The jeans were nice and normal, not too wide not too tight, and long enough. Maybe because he has long legs I find sometimes his pants look too short.

Unrelated - I saw that Viki added We Will Channel You to its lineup. No episodes have been added yet, but we may get to see the CJH episode at some point.
