Apparently LYJ’s adoptive father is deputy director of the governor general hospital and/or director of the police force, according to google translation.  And all these while I’ve always thought he’s some kind of commander in chief of a whole army, who strategizing and directing his troops on how to approach in the battle field.  Probably someone could confirm one way or another from his uniforms.

  4. You guys got new info even faster than the fans at Weibo.  Amazing!  Forgot to mention the new drama is planning to broadcast on mid Sep.  That’s good she has some few months off before filming again.  Thanks God only 6 plus weeks to go for DD, then couple months later after its ending we get to see her again.  Hurrah!  Thanks Your Majesty!

  5. Lee Yo-won, Choi Gwi-hwa offered lead roles in OCN’s Running Investigators

    Lee Yo-won, Choi Gwi-hwa

There’s something to be said about under-represented jobs getting the spotlight in dramaland, so I’m excited about this new drama in the works. OCN is starting to cast for its newest project, tentatively titled Running Investigators, and has offers out to Lee Yo-won (Buam-dong Revenge Club) and Choi Gwi-hwa (Suits), who are both positively considering taking lead roles in the show. If she accepts, Lee Yo-won will have a busy 2019, with her drama Different Dreams about to premiere in a few months’ time.

There aren’t that many plot details about Running Investigators as of yet, but it’s quite an unusual topic for OCN: The show will center around government employees of Korea’s Human Rights Commission and will follow them as they investigate reports of human rights violations in different corners of Korean society. It’s somewhat of a timely topic right now, given the current scandals plaguing the Korean entertainment industry and the country’s reckoning over its treatment of women.

These civil investigators don’t have the authority to compel anyone to comply with their investigations, and their findings don’t automatically result in criminal charges, but their work will shed light on those who have had their human rights violated. Which doesn’t sound all that satisfying to me right now, but I’m hoping that we get to see some kind of justice served in the course of the drama.

The show is being adapted from a collection of short stories written by author Song Shi-woo, released together under the Running Investigators title, that was released back in 2015. The book is labeled under the mystery genre, and each of the short stories involve a different human rights case that was modeled after real-life reports. I don’t know whether that makes this project more intriguing or more depressing, but the mystery label certainly explains the OCN connection.

OCN is planning on airing Running Investigators in the latter half of the year.

I also read a reference from DC the drama is based on the novel, and its writer has been working for 2 years for the drama.  I don’t think the title suggesting actions in terms of physical fighting, rather it’s implying investigating and shedding light on those whose human rights are violated.

Wow, our queen hasn’t done filming DD till several more weeks, yet she got an offer to play another main role in the second half of this year on OCN.  It’s the story about the investigators of the National Human Rights Commission.  She will investigate about those who violate on human rights, something like that.   I guess we might have our wish comes true if she plays detective, albeit it’s not police type but still.

    The actor is Choi Ji-hwa.

Cool agent Lee wearing a hat and pointing a gun at someone.  Can’t really tell the other man standing in front is Fukuda or KWB.  Could it be someone else?  If KWB doesn’t have that kind of car then I’ll say it’s Fukuda.  He’s so in love with LYJ that even knowing she is a spy, nevertheless, still driving her around doing espionage at night.  How sweet.

Elegant character cut image.  Love the outfit from head to toes.  The coat is among one of my fav.  LYJ in DD is probably the most fashionable character of Yowon in all her works thus far.  She could wear many coats, hats, scarves, gloves, and possibly boots too.  She’s marvelous in both period/modern clothes and traditional ones as well.  Assuming an average of 5 outfits in an episode so there would be 100 pieces of clothes gracing the screen.
