  1. So as I was watching the Korean version of GMP and seeing all the previously deleted scenes, I kinda felt grateful to be part of this awesome fandom cause not only did we get special episodes (to ease the tragic ending), but we actually GOT to see the deleted scenes because of the release outside china. I can’t really say the same for other web series which have a lot of fans too.

This is a long shot but if you are interested in having the uncut (International Version) of Goodbye My Princess with English subs, particularly if you are in the U.S. and have a Netflix account, you can make a request for a title. After all they have had other Chinese Dramas Ashes of Love and Ten Thousand Miles of Peach Blossoms on the site. See the link https://www.wikihow.com/Request-New-Shows-and-Movies-from-Netflix I submitted a title request. I figure if there are enough requests, then maybe, maybe they may buy the license for it. You never know. Be sure to request the International 55 episode version if you have a Netflix account.

I have been looking around Weibo and watched the highlights reel from the production company and they definitely cut a lot of scenes from the mainland China version. There is a whole backstory shot with Mi Luo and Peng Zhou that is not even referenced, not to mention the kiss(es) in Li Cheng Yin's bedroom. Some people have noted that Li Cheng Yin had red ears and a mark on his cheek in the scene that was aired in China. I read the translated novel and it does describe the kiss he gives her after tying her hands with the belt, his ears turning red and her fighting back, biting him on the cheek. I have a feeling they shot the entire scene and when it was edited, they took out that prior to him requesting a kiss (in the novel he asks for a kiss back after kissing her) before letting her go. I wonder what else they had edited out. Other things I've found out while looking through Weibo is that Chen Xing Xu was on deliberate diet to lose weight at least from going through the posts on his Weibo page. I wonder if they (the director and production team) asked him to lose weight for the role. Also, it seems that the director Li Muge likes to shoot guns in his off time.

Doing this today. Thanks for the idea! Hope one day the 55 ep version of GMP does end up in Netflix :-)

  3. I just watched the first two episodes of the korean release. Besides having more LCY scenes which give us further background into his character before he met XF,  it seems to me that there are also more XF and Gujian scenes together? In the original version, it was really fast paced, in no time we already had GXW and XF meeting each other. In this version, they spent some time showing XF and GJ’s pre-gxw friendship/relationship. Sometimes I find myself thinking I’m watching a completely new drama

  4. For those asking about the source of these rumors/info, which I myself am seeking confirmation of:

I originally saw it first in an IG post yesterday from the instagram user draco_ccccc which I follow for spoilers of the drama, Then it was deleted so I assumed it was just a rumor. Then I saw this in the stories, it’s no longer there now, but I got a screen capture of it:

All credits to draco_ccccc, Are you in this forum??? I hope you don’t get mad that i share your posts :tears:

    IG stories post

Then now there is also this post about the Taiwan broadcast of 55 episodes:

IG post now about Taiwan broadcast

Sorry guys, i dont know yet how to embed images, I need to figure it out again, hope the links work!

Then I just randomly went to Baidu to look for info, here is what I saw from one user’s post: Tieba Baidu post about taiwan broadcast and extra ep

Sadly, I am not fluent in chinese :( I can only understand bits and pieces and I might end up misunderstanding it. I hope someone can confirm this info

  5. guys, can anyone confirm the rumors that I’ve been seeing lately in instagram and baidu:

    1. Taiwan’s broadcast of Goodbye My Princess this coming May will have the complete 55 episodes (china only had 52). So I’m guessing all the scenes that were cut out will be finally shown there.

    2. They are now beginning or are already shooting a special episode, the content of which is not clear (flashback?? happy ending?)

    Is this for real????!!!

LoL. Just when I thought I could actually move on from GBMP, suddenly this news comes out :joy: How to move on hahaha.

But kidding aside, if these rumors are true, then I guess this is something to look forward to!

  6. Hi everyone!  I’m really excited to watch this drama. In case anyone wants to read the chinese translated webtoon, I read it from this chinese webtoon site http://m.ac.qq.com .

Or you can google this 腾讯动漫

When you’re in the website,  use the search box and find: 金助理怎么突然这樣

I’ve only read upto episode 43. After that, it limits the viewing access and requires a fixed period of waiting time for every succeeding episode that you want to view for free.

Hope this helps other excited fans out there!!! :D
