Kwang-Il's a really interesting character. Terrifying and violent, but really... interesting, and strangely relatable in a way that Yoon-Hee hasn't been.

But I have a feeling that we're about to see Yoon-Hee begin to do some interesting things.

    --

As far as whether Kwang-Il will continue to mess with DH and Ji-An...

Hmm, maybe. He is pretty obsessed with her.

But I think he's also discombobulated by DH's sincerity and dignity. It's like his brain shorted out.

i think KI’s backstory is more complicated than it has been led on. I wouldn’t be surprised if his father beat him up too so maybe subconsciously he was relieved that his father died cause the abuse died with him. But then he felt guilty for being relieved, and if it is true that he has a crush on JA, then his guilt is doubled, let alone tripled by continuing the cycle of abuse by beating her up too (thus showing he’s no different than his father that supposedly loved him too but beat him up as well). If that’s that the case. So far we just know dad beat up JA and that in the beginning episodes JA remarks to KI during one of his beatings that ‘he must like her’ cause of how he seems obsessed with her by always waiting for her at her place,

I felt a ray of hope as YH and DH  drove home and played the quiz games..... then the smell of divorce wafted into the episode.

I loved how the divorce is being set up. he hits the 11th floor,  the doors open, he cannot bring himself to step out of the lift, he presses close and goes off to drink. That conversation on his way to the divorced guy's bar is more like what I expect from a man. Men detest the idea of another man being with his wife and to see him having mental images of what could have happened between his wife and the director felt absolutely real. His friend saying that all he thinks about when he has a moment of stillness is his wife and "that bastard" was DH speaking right there.

The beginning of bar guy’s monologue resonated with me where he said the wife was more detestable when she came back to him. I feel like if my partner cheated on me, but then still tried to stay with me instead of breaking up (whether they were still together with their side piece or not) with me would make me hate them more because they’re being selfish and greedy in a sense. Essentially they’re just thinking of themselves because in no way is YH or my ‘partner’ considering me in their decision to stay in the marriage. Even if now she knows about him being aware of the affair and still trying to make amends, it goes to show that her not wanting to be alone outweighs the remorse she feels for hurting him.

That said, maybe the quiz game was symbolizing the hope of them to be co-parents and on friendly terms if they post-divorce. Not saying they will get a divorce because I agree, it’s always sad seeing marriages break up and I would hate to see that happen. However, I also hate seeing two people stay together when they seem happier apart. I mean imagine how difficult it must be to be your supposed significant others presence that you end to take a breather by opening a window or avoid them when they’re home early by getting a drink at your friends bar. I mean even if you live like roommates there should be a level of comfort and ease that these tow just do not have. I think they would get along better as divorced because then they wouldn’t be so disappointed and unhappy with each other all the time.

I hope DH gets up from under his brothers, especially the oldest one. I am a first born, and that brother is a shame to all first borns in the world. I wanted to slap him when he insisted that DH must succeed so that they can have a big funeral display. Surely!! Nkt!! Step up to the plate! Everyone else should look up to you!!

Ugh I agree. I mean even though DH is lucky to have a support system behind him compared to JA who’s all alone (what she must have briefly thought/felt during the times she listened in to his convos or when everyone rallied up for him after finding out he got in a scuffle), he really lucked out in the brother department. Not only is his father deceased so there’s no breadwinner, but now even the one supposed to be in charge of that is relinquishing responsibility and dropping it on DH. It really does annoy me and honestly he got on my nerves from the beginning by how he kept talking about JA in a sexual way, I mean you’re even older than DH and he’s the one that has to bring you back to reality that She’s the same age as your daughter dude!!! Even younger. At least have some class like your brother why don’t you.

This is why some of us just keep small circle of sincere people in our lives. She is a tough young woman who does not need protecting. Jian just did fine all on her own.

I also noticed when DH turned around in that bar. This is not the first time he did that. He waits as if there's always a reserved seat for her beside him. These are the subtle gestures that the PD is adding into the scene that separates DH's attraction for her and putting aside all the kind gestures. The revelation of Jian - He was rattled beyond belief but one thing that strikes me about it. He didn't say no or reject her either. DH completely avoided it, told her to go home, and that she was crazy.  The easiest way for him was to deny the connection and made it appear ridiculous rather than facing the possible hard truth that his feelings for her was more than just compassion. DH's eyes showed so much annoyance and anger after he walked away coz Jian clearly drew the line. And I agree with you again, she laid down her cards once and for all. It annoyed him immensely because now he cannot see her anymore.

Chingu, I agree that JA is protecting herself in a way most of us do after learning the hard way through being alone during hardships in ones life and everybody being gone when you’re at rock bottom, kind of like that ‘go spend your winter where you spent your summer.’ People (some at least haha not to generalize) will tend to stay when you’re in a good place and avoid you like the plague if you’re going through a difficult time or you have a dark, incrompehesnible  past. She doesn’t want to get hurt again and she has every right to prevent that from happening when there’s no one else around to stop it besides herself. That said, her confession really shows how much she’s willing to get hurt and not protect herself at the expense of protecting DH.

yeah I noticed his body language too. How he was looking out the bar window, as if waiting for JA like how he did that night when asking if the pretty girl showed up. Then also how at the end of the episode after she walks away from getting hit on head, he looks back (always a sign to me in kdrama land that the other person has feelings when their gaze lingers on the other person ).

im sure it annoyed him immensely too that she crossed a line with a confession because if she had kept it to herself, then now there wouldn’t have to be thus established distance that he does not want. I think of it like how the ahjussi at the bar relish in YRs presence because she’s like a breath of refrshing air in their boring daily routine. By pushing past the platonic boundaries, JA has put DH in a position where he can no longer look forward to their exchanges because it now risks a chance of being interpreted as something else. Maybe he slapped her on the ends because she was saying it loudly in a neighborhood that he is well known in aka he fears his reputation as ethical will be tarnished because deep down maybe there is some truth to it and he is scared to be judged by the people that have known him all his life. Because before then he does as you say and just dismisses her, as if he is also dismissing his own feelings and the potential of this being something more as nonsense.

Funny cause I also feel like JAs confession was also to herself because she hasn’t outwardly admitted that her feelings for him run deeper than admiration of an adult (which maybe it is just that too and this whole thing was just a plan to protect him from private investigator...but was it just me or was she sad seeing him and his wife playing quiz game in car? And then him not wearing the shes..which btw, I wonder if it’s actually cause he’s sentimental and wants to save her present and not ware out her shoes.)

Also I would like to take note of his breathing in the very end of ep after JA walks aaah, which always seems to be heard when he is in a negative rather than positive mood. So I feel like he was really conflicted after she left.

someone mentioned that DH had flashbacks to what KH said about her liking him as why she threw out the money. So maybe he did think through their interactions that she had a crush on him. But then finding out about the money, he knows it was all misinterpreted. So if he maybe doubting her confession because she didn’t have feelings when she threw out the money so why would she have feelings for him now? Then again so much has happened between them until now so I feel like he did take her confession seriously. Especially by how she conveyed it by mentioning the shoes, longing for him and being slapped (referencing one sided love convo with coworker that said it was with someone taken) so the sincerity seemed there.

  2. So some questions for ep 9.

before I do though I have a general q that I’m not sure if it has already been asked before but I am curious to know the answer of. Why did the show runners decide for our leads to use the subway instead of bus for transportation and is there some symbolic meaning behind it?

at the beginning, JA stays in subway when it’s their stop and only DH comes out. Is she staying behind because she’s swaying in her agreement with JY or cause of the possibility that’s he does like her or what?

why was DH so shy around KHs actress girl (YR?)?

Did DH seem more upset about finding out JA stole the bribe money than he did finding out about his wife’s affair?

what do you think of JA purposely passing by bar (I say this cause she probably knew ahjussi was there based on wiretap) and ignores him as she walks by him?

Did you guys agree or reed or disagree with JA telling YH that DH knows ‘everything’ aka about her affair?

(I do have to point out, in the total two times that YH and JA have met, JA has always left YH like in shock. First with recording of JY now this reveal. Any thoughts on what the significance of this pattern means?)

LJA smiled the most in these two episodes since we first saw her, which I hope she will have reason to do in the final half of the drama. Much attention is given to the time she smiled at PDH, which LGI was witness to. However, for me, the smile that moved me to tears, is when her grandmother signed her gratitude for the delicious food that PDH bought. In that moment, LJA's broken smile had me aching so much for them - for grandma who found so much to be grateful for in something so small, and for her, to finally have a reason to smile because her grandmother was happy, even if just momentarily. Tears.

Wow I didn’t even realize the grandma scene until you point it out. So true, I am more touched than I was before now knowing this.

Oh! And same here, her being shipper or not doesn’t affect me enjoying reading her and everyone here’s posts. Honestly you all are the reason I’m not scared about how the story will end whether it’s tragic, happy or open ended, at least I will have you all here to discuss with so I’m not alone. Thank you guys and I have enjoyed reading everyone’s input because you’ve all made me think even more deeply about the show than I ever could have by myself.

But when she finds the other pair is in the glove compartment of her car will she not wonder why it was put there and who put it there? What if she will know that her husband went to the campsite where the Chairman was camping? Will she feign ignorance or will then confront husband? I hope for an all-out confrontation and DH to yell like he did with JY

I think YH will react with a sense of betrayal (karmaaaaaa) when she discovers that DH is now aware about the affair and told JY to break up with her. I would love for there to immediately be a confrontation and as you said, DH finally releases all his pent up anger and vents to her. But I could see YH not immediatrly confronting him kinda like how DH feigned ignorance. However DH did say he would know when she knows (but will you really when you didn’t know how to your wife was cheating?) so maybe she will go immediately and confront him after finding out. Then in this case I could see YH with divorce papers already signed when she confronts DH which is the tip of the iceberg for hm and blows up

Why can't men and women in kdramas be seen as 'people'? Is the need to romanticize and sexualize so great that people feel like they are wasting their time watching a drama unless it has some romance? Why can't there be care, respect or liking without putting it into a box of 'crush / infatuation / friendship / love/ soulmate / father-daughter / siblings' etc.? I think PD of this drama said it the best in the press conference, that people cannot wrap their head around a relationship that doesn't have skinship / sexual relations (or back hugs, ILUs, terminal illnesses, nonsense of that sort).

DH initiates conversations because Ji-An doesn't talk; he is awkward because she is not an open person. He inquires about her because he knows she has a hard life. It's not sensual, sexual or friendly - it's basic human decency! He talks to everyone that way! I would love for them to be sitting together without any distance on a train, but I believe they have a connection only because they are trapped and lonely and miserable. Once things work out for them in their lives, they will be thankful for each other's support / help (even if they don't verbalize it), and move on with their respective lives.

But if 'romantic notions' gets the drama more viewers, what the hell!

Hello, shipper here from Delulu island that wants to apologize to you if you feel uncomfortable. I certainly don’t want to seem like I’m perverting or sexualizing a relationship that is intended to be pure and platonic. I love this drama, the story and characters, so I enjoy watching it romance or not. But as I have a tendency to ship characters and enjoy that as well, this is why I share my shipper imagination. In no way am I trying to taint anything innocent and I’m sorry if that seems that way. I should have put a disclaimer because I am not trying to disrespect any of the fellow viewers here or possibly strictly kindred spirit bond between the leads. I understand that some fans percieve JA and DH’s dynamic as one of two human beings being each other’s pillar of support without any sexual or romantic notion behind it. And that’s totally cool, I love seeing different perspectives on the relationship between the leads and I also think it’s imprtant to show that people can be as close as family without being related by blood or married and in a romantic relationship.

its just personally I am delulu over these two and I can’t help shipping them, so I’m sorry in advance to other posters here that may get disgusted or offended by my delulu posts cause I really don’t mean to be and I just wanna fan girl my heart out somewhere and this is my only outlet.

Chingu, sorry to cut your post (I agree with all of it) but I had to say for this point, I had a feeling that JA was recording JY when he said all that stuff about being with a married woman (she does need some kind of security for after the job so that he can’t get rid of her easily right? Just feel like that would be such a JA thing to do-tape her convos with JY).

Can someone one give me some credit for predicting the recording right?! JA was recording her convo with JY.

I thought it was telling when YH was dancing to that song in their affair room with JY, she replayed the song that’s as JYs favorite because his favorite song is becoming her favorite song instead of her original favorite song. (I do not do justice with quoting haha) but maybe this ‘song’ is really a person. On YH side at least, I think she is genuine with her feelings even if she hadn’t actually divorced DH yet and would sometimes seem like she still cared about DH when she was being considerate of him quitting instead of being fired and having like a logos divorce if that’s even possible (which it isn’t cause now DH knows the truth honey).

So we know JY was married previously. I think that JY (among other things) was jealous of DH and Yhs marriage. Seeing the perfect couple in their perfect life with a DH content and happy (something greedy JY can’t stand) so he kinda wanted to ruin the happy marriage he envied for himself by sabotaging it with an affair. That’s how it started just like I think YH started the affair because she was bored with life, unhappy with her husband (couldn’t feel his ‘love’ for her, just thought he was there in body) and needed like an oasis in her desert of a daily routine (when she says ‘how am I supposed to go on?’ During their break up, I felt like this affair was her breath of fresh air in her suffocating marriage and life).

when get older nothing spectacular or amazing happens just because you’re an adult now. On the contrary, once you’ve achieved everything like a kid and husband and a successful job, then there’s really nothing else to work for. Or look forward to. And you’re just in this standstill of like is this really what society hyped us up to aspire for? I think this is a feeling that both DH and YH are experiencing is they’re growing up (and apart) but not sharing that similiar feeling to become closer because cause the other spouse is partly responsible for this ‘boring’ life. I don’t think DH considers his life boring-if anything I think he prefers a comfortable and safe life hence not wanting to be promoted or have a change in his life with a divorce.

DH represents a nice person/adult in the middle class (I mentioned economic standing because JA replies to her grandma when she calls him nice, that it’s easy to be when you have money and no financial problems like JA does). I say nice too cause we see in first scene he’s the one trying to save the bug. And even now with how he’s handling the whole affair, and how he hasn’t told his brothers anything about it for most likely the sake of themselves and not putting his family through a whirlwind of drama and emotions. He definetly avoids conflict (is it for the sake of others, or for himself, or both?)

maybe JY is right, and DH is a good person because he isn’t ‘broken’ yet. But then cut to the scene where the d-list actress states that she’s relieved and happy to see people who’ve failed that are still standing and happy (hit me right in the feels). DH isn’t a nice person because he’s middle class, or not broken, or for selfish reasons. I think he is just a good person that has morals and ethics we rarely see in modern society (his viewpoint on talking to people behind their backs, or filial piety with JA and her grandma, protecting his wife’s pride at the expense of being hurt more than he already is, etc). That said, I do think he’s suicidal and I wonder if it has to do with bearing all these burdens while remaining selfless? Having no pillars when you’re the pillar for everyone else? And then maybe this is a representation of the Ahjussi that commit suicide?

To fend off possible criticism, the production team has paid extra attention to self-censoring some of the more provocative scenes.

Omg what scenes?!! I’m dying to know haha I wish they didn’t self censor!!

Interesting how YH goes into a depression after break up and says how am I gonna go on? Maybe it’s cause of humiliation or because the affair was the only

thing that made her boring and mundane life worthwhile. DH, when walking with JA, talks about the monk and scene pans to pic of his kid and wife while talking about reaching point in life achieving everything you’re expected to. Is he saying that he too is depressed and wish he had become a monk? Also is he suicidal or is there a chance Dh will try to kill himself? The snow scene, bridge scene and then now the roof scene all seem to have an ominous feel to it?

ahh I can’t wait for next week. These past two episodes are just fueling my delulu shipper mind. How it was cause of ahjussi that she smiled for first time in drama. How she protected Dh by going to wife without any motive behind it. How she also got his wallet for him (kinda reminded me of scene when DH when to guy that humiliated his bro in front of his mind, both of them are like tigers that were sleeping and wake up roaring when their loved ones are hurt). How she says she likes him and then JY says he likes her cause he wouldn’t go out with a girl if he didn’t (he is a hoobae so I’m too asking him up on that). How ahjussi called her pretty.

What were your guys thoughts on when he talked to JH about JA saying she was 30k years old? Was he saying he could relate and he too thinks this place is his home when it isn’t but keeps getting reborn anyways?

@nearsea please keep on posting your thoughts. Let's promote diversity of opinions and healthy discussions. This is just a show and nothing personal should come into it. Let us avoid behaving same as all the narrow minded knetz that made My Ajusshi got backlash in the first place. I just need to call out the major double standard this drama is receiving compared to its other counterparts. Thank you for pointing Secret Affair and the noona romance airing right now. These shows are so well received without controversy. You know why? because both shows do not shatter the illusion of a typical female kdrama fantasy romance. We must admit the notion that romantic kdramas are marketed to cater the female perspective. So it's ok for Kim Hee-ae & Yoo ah In, Sohn Ye Jin & Jung Hae In to have age gap romances and people will root for it. But if the roles are reversed then it is such a big ruckus, blasphemous, and K-feminazis carrying their pitch forks. Frankly, I'm also getting tired of the hypocrisy that's plaguing the kdrama world because probably I have been around watching them for a long time. It is honestly very unfair and gender bias.

Agree with everything!! Also if we wanna bring up other shows and taboo topics, what about the ones that have the leads thinking they’re siblings/family?!! (Hwarang, my father is strange, etc). It has been awhile since there was an airing show where the leads or one of them thought they were brother and sister or related. And romance still happened. But then cause of an age gap (which is also not new-I love Tae Ri, Big, Mr.Back) but somehow Knetz have sleective amnesia and forgot all this while blasting My Ahjussi team for a way tame taboo compared to other topics addressed. Also, maybe if they stopped their judgements hate the. We could finally have same-sex romances cause if there’s anything that shouldn’t be taboo it’s that and yet it’s never shown in kdramas.

  10. @ninaanin agreed! Also if PDnim didn’t want to make it seem like JA doesn’t see DH as a man, why did he have the sudden kiss scene? It wasn’t consensual so it can’t really count as a kiss and then DHs side with the train scene where he seemed to be trying hard not to invade her personal space, while looking nervous like he was hyper aware of her presence, so if PDnim was planning to develop a platonic (which seems the case based on press conference) why have those scenes? To show that yes moments like that can happen between man and woman who aren’t relatives but essentially at end of day still consider each other like friends and family?

  11. @tsukiazura please come to the dark side chingu, we have pineapple bread and cookies!!! Hehe.

i love that you brought out the train scene. That was what really made my shipper heart so excited. Just as you said, the hand clutch inn the polenta was so telling like his evident effort to keep an appropriate distance to her when they’re cramped in the subway. Also how after their pseudo kiss, he makes a point (maybe way too much of a point?) to draw the line by publicly talking to her in office with blinds off and people looking.

what really stays with me is the statement that Dhs wife had. “Your body is here but that’s it.” And “you don’t love me.” How I would love for her to say, after seeing Dh and JA together that “you look at her how I’ve always wanted you to look at me. And when you’re with her, it’s not just you’re body there but your heart too.” Thus once again showing this soul mate connection between them.

also I know I mentioned the younger bro and the actress possibly serving a foreshadowing as how JA ‘destroys’ DHs career like the actress did (she was hired for it) but I also like looking at DHs wife’s affair/‘relationship’ with JY.

there were comments at the beginning of show where she mentions him being ‘young’ And even JA asks Jy ‘why he’s with an ahjumma’ thus showing the reverse age difference that is somehow now a big deal with them but so blasphemous if it pertains to JA and DH (maybe because she’s younger and a female?)

I know at least since the wife obviously has no concern for age in stopping herself from indulging in her desires, my heart is ready for her to ‘misunderstand’ DH and JA.

They get along really well from the start. True, he managed to trick her in museum but she was kinda prepared for his actions. She installed  a tracking device in his smartphone so that he couldn't escape if something happened. She is well aware of the fact that he is a con artist. But she also knows he is very smart. I really like their interactions. They are so natural. I am looking forward to tomorrow's episodes. Hope there will be lots of action.

Same here I’m so excited for tomorrow and this is becoming one of my fav shows! I agree too that they both have great chemistry and it was from the start. What’s interesting is that as a con artist he always refused to pretend to be a prosecutor until HR. Now of course with the possibility of the baddie being involved in his dads death(? Refer to paragraph below) he will continue posing as prosecutor.

Omg so here’s the thing (just ad an epiphany as I was writing this out). Ive been wondering if the dad died (in DCs flashback as a kid when ‘grizzlie’ is hurting his dad). And we see an identical looking man complimenting Hrs mother. It’s easy to think that it’s always DCs dad, especially cause he always exhibits the con artist swag. But what if end DCs dads twin brother aka uncle and also the father of real prosecutor which is why they look alike?

  13. I love the female lead and this show. I like how already in the beginning there’s this natural gathering of them to scheme together (when they’re in the library and he suggests the museum plan that had me laughing so much. Con artist influence on a cops investigation at its finest). Even though it sucked he betrayed her and stuff (which I guess we shouldn’t be too surprised since he is a scammer in the first place so it should have been expected) it doesn’t stop them from still working together. @dramaninja said it perfectly. They are meant to be partners.

  14. So looking at the dynamic between the actress and director brother, and the paraphrased quote “She destroyed his career” made me think if maybe this was alluding to when DH either discovers truth about JAs actions like having actually stolen bribe money from him, working for JY, bugging his phone, etc etc and even being fired as a direct result of her. The director and actress forgiving each other, building this pseudo-friendship, is maybe what will serve as an example or even basis for the younger brother when he consoles DH and possibly supports the idea of DH sympathesizing and empathetizing with JA.

just one thought I wanted to put out there’s. That the past relationship of the director and actress will be what the future relationship of JA and DH (destroying each others careers?)

so I am mad that the lead actors friend posted spoilers about there not being romance in the next 10 episodes. I am kinda jealous he got to find out the spoilers though, like jeez get me some actor and actress friends I can read lines with of upcoming kdramas so I can get me some spoilers too. But yeah thank you spoiley chingu for letting me know that next four eps I won’t see any romance between them (I am fearfully hiding in the shipper shadows cheering these two to be end game!)

But yes, maybe the younger bro and this actress will end up together. And so will our leads. I am curious if that bar noons was referring to DH or his hyung as the one she felt similiar feelings to like the actress did. I would love if it were the hyung so she ends up with him and voila we have our three couples.

  16. I think she listens to the mic partly because it lessens her loneliness. I know it serves the purpose for her to remain informed and find Days ‘weak spot’ to get him fired as per her deal with evil guy, but after ep 4 and seeing preview for ep 6 where she seems to hear something on mic and runs, I think she always has the buds in and listens because listening keeps her company in a sense?

  17. Spoiler

Good riddance to the haters. I for one am enjoying this drama a lot, even if there will be no romance. This is the first show in awhile where I don’t even have the patient to wait for the two episodes and watch them together. So far these are my questions that I hope are answered tomorrow or we can speculate on together.

we have seen a photo of Ahjussi and his wife with a young child. What happened to him? I don’t know if I missed something in the last 3 episodes that already mentioned something pertaining to this, but if so please enlighten me chingus. Does this have any connection to who JA said she killed? I’m also curious about her backstory. Who’s will we find out first? Probably our lead guy. I’m surprised his brothers didn’t talk about it yet, i was expecting his hyung to say that he was shipping our leads because he wanted his brother to get over the grief so his child and have some fun?

what is the history between him, his wife, and JY (the one she’s having an affair with-not sure if I got his names initials right)? Okay we know his current motive for targeting our lead is because he’s the hubby of his lover and he also poses as a threat (for example, when that harabouji showed up at the company and asked our lead for dinner but he refused cause he already had plans).

company politics seems to be the, if not one of the main, plots for this show. Funny how the guy working for JY says himself that he’d be in jak if he were actually a politician. I am very entertained with JA. I was not expecting such an apathetic (her emotionless exterior when he pressed up against her in the subwa, or kills the ladybug, or even when she’s eating silently) yet calculative (bugging our lead guys phone, getting his ally fired, snapping the kiss photo, etc) younger female lead. To me, she represents a survivor. Anyways, Analysis aside, I also have a couple questions in regards to this. What is the future of this company, our lead and his job, JY, and JA? Will our lead be promoted or fired or stay in his job? What was that whole arrangement with the temp agency? Does the 50 million bribe mean that the temps won’t get their wage, just cause I’m confused how they had all that money to waste in the first place (since it ended up in company hands which means it’s completely confiscated and useless right?). What is the fate of these company politics?

  18. That loan shark, is the younger brother of uri ahjussi the main lead? Forgot the character chart and the connections.

anyways, rarely di I watch a drama at the beginning without a few episodes out like 6 or 8. But I was really looking forward to seeing this show. It’s a little more darker than I expected but love the plot and characters. Also the potential lifeline between our leads. I cannot wait for future eps.

Here's a sample of what Knetz had to say about the IU teasers released yesterday.  Not exactly glowing praises, which is surprising to me because I thought she is above reproach and thus the fierce protectiveness when her casting was announced.

Article: 'My Ajusshi' Lee Jieun's solo teaser revealed... forget the IU you remember

    Source: Sports Seoul via Nate

    1. [+530, -44] Putting the issue of IU's acting skills aside... they really need to start casting her for roles that she matches...

    2. [+480, -61] If IU gets into another acting controversy, she needs to seriously consider quitting her career in acting. Every single drama has had an acting controversy. She's perfect when it comes to her singing career so please leave acting alone... why does she volunteer herself for hate........

    3. [+383, -53] Feels like a flop

    4. [+44, -24] It's hilarious that she's supposed to be playing a 'cold, ruthless' woman when she's been on varieties all this time looking the opposite. Her agency needs to step it up and give her roles that she's capable of pulling off.

    5. [+37, -14] I just.. hate the title ㅠ when I think of ajusshis, I just think of fathers or the old men out on the streets...

    6. [+35, -15] Why do dramas keep casting her? There are better actresses with better skills and visuals, the industry is brimming with trainee talent... why IU? Her past dramas have all ended up as failures so you can't even use the excuse that her fame guarantees the drama success.

    7. [+22, -16] I was seriously hoping she'd stop acting after 'Moon Lovers' but I guess she's just not listening. Aigoo.

    8. [+15, -13] The drama hasn't even begun yet, why all the hate...

    9. [+13, -3] Something about it is cringe... I can tell she chose a heavier role to change up her image as an actor but... she tends to overreact, like in 'Pretty Man'..

    10. [+12, -2] Honestly, she's not that bad at acting... but she's not lead role worthy. She's a perfect fit for supporting roles but she obviously doesn't want to pick those. Her acting skills and her image aren't enough for lead roles yet..

I like that the knetz are having none none of it with anymore drama on kdrama sets. It is true that this year in particular (or maybe because I joined soompi this year so I’ve been more updated on the news regarding kdramas; it already happened here too when they had to replace an actor) but I really feel like this year particularity were a lot of problems so I hope we don’t go through anymore. Actresswise, I believe in IU, I think she did great in Scarlet Heart Ryeo and there were scenes where when she was tortured or in a dark place as her character, she pulled it for well so I’m sure she can succeed with similiar circumstances like the teasers showed.

there was a clip in the teaser with a guy in a brown leather jacket like JKY is wearing, was that possibly him in the teaser?

and now the million dollar question; is there gonna be any love line between our two leads?!
