  1. Visiting this thread coz I missed the show today.

I feel it will be a while before another Xian xia drama lives up to my expectation.

I suppose Pillowbook is out next year but it's not the same  :(

    Spoiler

Does anyone have any news on good Xian xia novels that may hit the small screen soon?

Really wish that Sansheng, Wangchuan Wu Shang will get a live adaptation.

Will watch Go, go squid for Yang Zi. The novel was interesting in the beginning but will admit got bored towards the end...

lol.. looks like everyone is watching sweet dreams..

me totally for DL.. although its not boring when i watch it, but if i drop it. .i don't feel the urge to go back to it.. unlike sweetness.. that i completed over 2 days :)

Q: if anyone watched korean variety heart signal 2, doesn't DL look like the doctor Do gyun? and a faint similarity to gong yoo (more in demeanour i think)

This boy is so awesome, when is his next drama coming up

    ***************

read the translations.. drama was pretty close to the novel.. epilogues are really funny

    ***************

do we have access to subbed DL stuff besides the drama?

    *************

      Hide contents

what other dramas can i watch?

    - sweetness liked

    - ten peaches - watched, still like sweetness more, although thsi drama is good too

    - legend of fuyao - bored to death

    - b'ful love - adorable

    - meteor - on hold, lost the drive

    - O2O - meh except for yang yang

    - NIF - hmm, on hold..lost interest

    - bloody romance - on hold

don't want bad print/super old dramas unless they are exceptionally great

preferably recent (completely subbed ones) (not princess agent or king's woman or flame daughter.. just don't feel excited with the teasers)

    Romance preferred

    awesome fights/superpowers def preferred

    Jin Mi's Immortality

There were a few pointers: as @Kimchi Sweet Potato said, the flowers bloomed in the Flower Realm. When Liu Ying/Demon Queen was presented with her gift from Lian Qiao (Flower Realm doing public relations with the Demon Realm), she is told that the 'Water God' nurtured a new type of flower for the Demon Queen to name. The only Water God who can grow flowers = Jin Mi. I take this as not only does Jin Mi retain her powers as heir of the Flower Goddess, she reclaims her role as the Water God. How the step from reincarnated human back to a titled immortal is unclear. I agree with @thehumantree, in that the only explanation would be the 6000 years of spiritual power (side stepping questions such as her memories). I find this contrived, if not a forced explanation. Sad, considering the series has been terrific in tying it's lose ends. More so than even the novel in some respects.

Finally finished watching with subs and I am convinced Jin Mi is immortal.

The town's people were gossiping that she was obsessed with cultivation and not to become an immortal but a demon!

Also as @Nudafu pointed out, the gifting of the flower.

I have been in denial about my withdrawal...I am in drama withdrawal :(

Anyway, as promised to @lynne22 the final FMV (i think), Xu Feng's redemption:

    4. As the two are good friends, Deng Lun said that they're too familiar with each other. Yang Zi is like a man to him since they're like brothers or even sisters. As he told Yang Zi that he doesn't feel anything when he kisses her, she started eating garlic and durian out. Completely at her mercy, he'll ask why she can't rinse her mouth and complain that she shouldn't be like that, why is she picking on him.

Lol, Yang Zi is savage. But I can totally picture it. From the BTS, they are VERY comfortable with each other. Real friends. Whether they can get out of the friends' zone and be more, that's up to them. Wish them all the best. Will certainly be keeping an eye on their future dramas and hope they can work again together as the main lead. I have become a fan of this pair.

So what is everyone gonna do to relieve their emptiness after the end of the drama?

Going back to my drama motherland. Eyeing TvNs 100 Days My Prince. In the past, I would try to watch something similar but I have since learned that no two dramas are ever alike and 'rebound drama watching' destroys the next drama. I end up comparing the shows. So now, I try to switch between genres. Alternatively, I read novels but ran out of those after TMOPB. Bookmarked Pillowbook for next year though. Don't plan to watch any historical/period/costume Cdrama anytime soon.

However, if guys have recommendations, I'm all ears.

I'm confused about this too. I can't tell if JM is mortal or immortal... they also don't say that she got to keep her memories. We assume she does but who would let a stranger hold her like that or kidnap her on her wedding dressed the way XF was hehe

The flowers bloomed in the flower world, I will take it as a sign she is an immortal...but her true form goes flying afterward...I dunno. I need subs.

I am saving the last 4 episodes.....all the spoilers I have read "BIG SIGHS!" AND so disappointed they didn't include all after marriage shanigans epilogues like in the novel from what everyone has stated here.  With those I can easily forgive and have the screenwriters redeem themselves. But no....I hope the DVD special have all cut scenes.  This will be my Friday night treat still cannot bear it to end.  My fave OTP by far because it was my most fave novel, my first.  Cannot forget your first!!!! LOL  ok end of rant.  I am now a huge fan of both Yang Zi and Deng Lun.  If rumours are true, I hope they have a reunion in the near future.

Off topic but I will move on to Yang Zi's New drama Go Go Squid, same production team as Love 020!!!!  My 2nd fave novel (maybe see some of you there).

Any future projects for Deng Lun?

Does the DVD special have Eng subs? I have never purchased one for a Chinese drama before.

Not that bad? She schemed from day one and teamed up with every single villain. She killed 2+ people including two supreme immortals and tried to kill Jin Mi too several times. Etc.

She and the Empress deserve what they got. I think the Emperor was not as bad; he  at least sacrificed himself as he realised everything was his fault.

I second this. I think SH got what she deserved. I mean even the scene where she had the two Demon prince tortured shows how bad her character is.

  6. Giving the drama 8 out of 10.

It was a good adaptation but certainly could have been better. The biggest issue being, the storytelling and editing. The way was paved. The novel was already written. Why did they get so lost? I certainly didn't mind the additional side stories when it added to the main storyline or OTP. But what infuriates me still is they removed essential OTP interactions and aired the rubbish fillers instead. That ending was disappointing. Had they even just removed one Mu Ci related scene, we would have had at least 10 minutes more of OTP time.

Is Jin Mi wearing the Phoenix feather? And is she mortal or immortal?

And before I forget, thanks everyone for the lively discussion, translations, and spoilers the last few weeks. You certainly helped ease the frustration.

    Thanks for the spoiler.

So ep 60 -61 is the wedding.

    62 battle.

    63 revive, wedding and baby..

I need more love dovey ep..

I do wish the battle happens early in episode 62. My anxiety stems from how little time we have left.

I love everyone's response to my question.

My perception did change and I agree with most that Phoenix suffered more. His suffering is reactive, as a result of what was done to him. Of course, excluding purposely hurting Jin Mi. And that boomeranged back to him.

The addit of the wedding and the stone are ingenious. We won't really know if it came from the production team or writer nor do I care at this point, but it does plague the mind at what could have been had they invested more in this type of storytelling. No point in crying over spilled milk I suppose. Don't get me wrong, I still think this was a well executed adaptation. Plan to rewatch this in a month and will see how I react to it then. Watching live has its torments.

    Tuesday.

This is one of the most 'fair' drama I've seen. Like what people are saying on weibo...

JM admirer drove XF's mom dead. XF admirer kill JM's dad.

    Both parents are all dead.
She crushed her Chun hua qiu shi. He burned his Huan di feng ling.
He died because of her and she'll die because of him (and RY).
She revived him and He'll revive her next. :ph34r:

Edit: But I feel that the reason why they're able to get back together and forgo all the bygones in the end is because they experienced death.

Like Bai zi hua in Journey of a flower. It's only after Qiangu's death that he realized that all he wanted was her and nothing else mattered.

    Eloquently said. Love it!

I would have to agree. In the drama, it appears she sacrifices herself for both of them.

    Thank you!

Been going crazy with impatience. Dare we hope they MC before the war...just sayin, they owe us a second one.

Now, I can at least start the work week with some sanity.

My memory of August 2018 will be this drama, HSALF (not sure yet if that is a good or bad thing).

This question has been abused so many times but will this drama end on Monday or Tuesday?

Also, who do you guys think suffered more in this relationship? Jin Mi or Xu Feng?

Will be interested to hear your thoughts and why.

Personally, I used to think they suffered equally. Now, not so sure...

Xu Feng is probably aware that JM is the bride but he likes to act like he's unaware. He obviously wants to proceed with the marriage with JM by acting like he thinks it's SH. We all know he's a stupid bird when it comes to love, but he's definitely not stupid in general. lol I lowkey, highkey wish the marriage goes through though but we all know it's going to get interrupted with the war.

And oh my gosh. I remember someone mention how DL needs to put some chapstick on those dry lips of his and now I cannot unsee it. I can't stop staring at it. It's that distracting! :bawling:  :joy:

Also, they're giving Pu Chi a love story so late into the story. Like, why are they doing this to us now?! We're trying to just get our OTP's scenes from the novel without a rushed ending!

Lol, now I can't unsee it too...

  11. Although I always believed that the bride was Jin Mi, I am a bit apprehensive about the switch.

I would like to think that Xu Feng knows who he is marrying. Not because I am against the deception but rather I can't stomach the thought that he would actually go through the wedding with Sui He.

Now, I'm sorry Demon Princess but I may have to kill Mu Ci myself if they keep up with this storyline....

    SO sad!!!

But, I am a little confuse. He had the pin then why did he threw it and fire ball at JM?

I am a bit confused too.

So I let myself create a little fan fiction in my head until the subs come out.

I would like to think that the hairpin was conjured accidentally. Because he didn't really want to hurt her but was trying to keep her away from Sui He. His face on the second fall says it all.
