Btw does anyone know if the OST played towards the end of episode 15 is going to release? (It was when Hong Ji Ah was saying she knew how her mom felt..)

Another song to be released tomorrow so it could be that song you are looking for...

PS: There is still quite a number of songs in the OST not featured yet!!! Is Episode 16 going to be a Music Video to play it all?

  2. Jang Na-ra gets into the spirit of things

In South Korean drama Sell Your Haunted House, actress Jang Na-ra stars as Hong Ji-ah, a realtor who has the ability to exorcise spirits from haunted properties.

Pop-rock band CNBlue frontman Jung Yong-hwa plays Oh In-bum, a con artist who pretends to chase away spirits to swindle money.

As they work together to clear paranormally-infested properties, Hong discovers that Oh, who is also a powerful medium, may be the key to unravelling the secret behind her mother's death.

Here are five things to know about the two artistes.

    1. POLAR OPPOSITES

Jang (The Last Empress, 2018) plays a hot-tempered exorcist and realtor whose fists speak faster than her mouth, but she says she does not share much in common with her character.

In an e-mail interview with The Straits Times, the 40-year-old actress says: "I am not the kind who doesn't have many fears and is cool with letting things go easily."

    2. DRAWN TO THE SHOW

Both the leads were instantly drawn to their roles.

"Hong Ji-ah is a character of a different vibe compared with my past roles," says Jang. "I decided to take up the role without any hesitation."

The stories in the series are also tales people can easily relate to, she adds.

Similarly, Jung, 31, who has appeared in shows like Heartstrings (2011), set his eyes on the role as it was one he had never tried before.

Sell Your Haunted House is the first drama he is appearing in since his last series, The Package (2017).

    3. MUTUAL ADMIRATION

This is the first show Jang and Jung have worked on together and they have only good things to say about each other.

Jang praises Jung for being not only quick-witted, but also passionate about his work. She was pleasantly surprised by how well he had memorised his script. "It was interesting seeing him become one with his character," she says.

Jung thinks Jang is innovative when it comes to acting. "As we rehearsed together, she would come up with new ideas and express them through her character. I thought that side of her was amazing."

    4. UNEXPECTED TRIALS

Jang confesses that one of the challenges she faced during filming was the act of rolling her eyes as she was not used to it. Another challenge was adapting to filming at night.

"Since the nature of the genre required us to film a lot at night, it took a toll on me as my body clock got turned upside down," she says.

Jung says he found it challenging and fun to play a medium stuck with memories of resentful souls.

    5. JUNG'S DEBUT CHINESE EP

On his upcoming Chinese EP titled Stay In Touch, Jung says it took him a long time to record the songs as he had a hard time pronouncing the words in Mandarin.

"Despite that, I will probably keep improving as I keep on doing it," he says.

He is curious to see how his fans react when the four-track album is released on his 31st birthday on June 22.

  3. I just want to say episode 12 was amazing, the portrayal of how JA fought through those fake memories were heartbreaking and JNR delivered it very well.

Although I know some would say that the repetition of the memory is bothersome but let’s consider this. Do we tend to rethink about something over and over again in our mind when we can’t get over something?

That’s the actual scene being shown here. Just that we are now in JA’s mindscape and witnessing her every attempt to break through the fake memories placed on her mind.

The fact SYHH took something so intangible and managed to turn it into tangible and heartbreaking shows how detailed the team is. That’s definitely a scene to remember for me.

  4. I am seeing a lot of people asking about romance and so far I thought I am seeing a lot from OIB side, it’s really obvious for him and his actions. Very innocent and direct about liking JA and wanting to impress her. That’s the usual K- courtship, so yes there is romance involved.

For HJA I honestly don’t think she would react that openly about her emotions. But we are seeing hints of how she cares for IB quietly and thinking about him and consideration for him. Those I believe are as much as someone jaded as JA could react favourably towards another person. She may not be considering romance for now since she has been too closed up for so long, or even dare acknowledging it. But from the latest OST revealed so far, she isn’t too far from acknowledging romance in upcoming episodes. It is going to be baby step for her, very slow burn but I do appreciate the effort put in to make it as realistic as possible coz someone like JA just won’t simply fall in love that easily.

  5. An insider sharing from our SYHH scriptwriter about a scene in yesterday’s Episode 10.

    Spoiler

Do you recall the dramatic scene in which Hong Ji A used her own blood to write the Ghost’s name on her palm?

Well guess what? It wasn’t in the script at all. According to the writer, JNR proposed to do so while shooting that scene and the director accepted her idea so that’s how this scene came about!

Wow! I thought that was a really impressive scene!

That was harsh the way Ji Ah lashed out on In Beom. A lil unfair as well 'cause he's in the dark too. Hopefully there's more to the story & that In Beom's actually innocent. Miss Joo though LoL.. What is her deal?

That mom what she said of her daughter's friend living in a rented apartment was insensitive. And they wonder why their kids misbehave.

At least they have a home ok? And then telling her daughter will end up like that if she didn't study hard enough tsk. tsk. tsk.

I noticed most of these spirits die real easy ha-ha usually by banging head against something. But Byeol's fall could've just been a minor fracture not a complete wipe out Idk. I'm no medical major. And the previous with the artist too. A lil stretched on logic.

I agree that HJA sounded harsh at the end, but to be honest while I think about her character, I felt it was in line with her personality to do so.

Let’s not forget that HJA is a hot temper direct person who speaks her mind without much filtering. She is only cold and learned to hold back her emotions because of her experiences. Now in the face that OIB is the child she has been searching for, who brought the Egg Ghost to her place and indirectly causing her beloved mother’s death (it was explained in the beginning where ever Egg Ghost appears, there will be deaths occured.)

Then this very OIB is the one who is she is slowly learning to trust and care for, came to her because he wanted to find out about his uncle’s death. This destroys the weak trust she has in OIB and coupled it with the results of her mother’s death... if we look at what HJA knows so far, it was simply as she claimed, OIB brought along Egg Ghost which caused the deaths. She was harsh in stating it but she wasn’t wrong to say so if we follow her thoughts. Within the short moments she has to process what she has learned so far, the double blows of hurt and betrayal caused her to lose control and her cool. We can see how she loses her cool when it is about her mother.

I’m not defending HJA coz we know and she should know better that OIB had no choice or say in the event. He was very much a victim.

At the same time OIB based on his memory also asked what did HJA’s mother did causing his uncle’s death? But as viewers we know the Uncle died of poisoning, which was not what OIB thought. Both leads are missing pieces of the puzzle and making their own conclusions hence leading to their flawed confrontation.

Both of them are so drown in pains that they reacted in defensiveness and harsh remarks and tones. For OIB his question about why his uncle was there was finally answered by HJA, because he wants to save OIB and HJA’s mother died because of the Egg Ghost.

They could have reacted better, especially HJA who knows more about how ghost possession. But I am cutting her some slack in this stage since she is the last to know and most emotionally unstable.

I like JNR's recent drama choices. I did have hesitation about SYHH, but HJA is awesome. She should take more strong female roles and dramatic series as her earlier works were mostly comedy but she is shining in the dramatic roles such as the jilted wife in VIP.I'm not familiar with actor JYH, but I thought he did extremely well here. I also like IB's sidekick friend. Was he that guy in Sec Kim?

Well to be fair to JNR, she was kinda boxed in by many producers, directors and scriptwriters so she does not really have much of a choice of scripts coming here way until her recent years.

She was unfortunately to be trapped in RomCom Eye Candy or girl next door  goodies two shoes roles which she tries to break free off since her return to Korea. (The same happened to Gong HyoJin, which made her decided to go into Movies since most scripts were RomCom which were similar to her previous roles.)

For JNR, I would say she is a classic example of having to earn her own roles by proving that she could be more than what people expect of her.

For Example it was through Once More Happy Ending that the Team from Go Back Couple saw her and decided to offer the script to her, because they felt she looks young enough and has the skills to take on the role. (Who later joked that the greatest challenge was actually to make her look her age?! LOL) Then from GBC, she was noticed to be offered The Last Empress, and from TLE, the assistant director asked her to take on VIP, and VIP + TLE leads her to SYHH. (Yes SYHH script was received before the filming of Oh My Baby in case anyone wonders).

So you can say in a way all her roles came because somehow she had to convince people that she is capable to do more than a RomCom lady. There is also the fact that her management is small compare to others and that she keeps a very low profile, so meatier roles or big productions hardly goes her way unless someone in the production team offers it to her after somehow seeing her previous performances in other dramas.

And a fact that JNR tends to help out to bail out others in their time of needs. Some of the scripts she has taken on are actually to help former co-workers on other dramas, eg Mr Back, VIP, Old Farewell etc...

It’s interesting learning how far she has come as an actress despite the boundaries others set for her, proving time and again that she can be more than what they think.

Hopefully, with SYHH’s HJA, more different roles will come her way and we can see more of her different abilities, I have always thought that we haven’t seen her best yet, like how HJA brought surprises to us. She is indeed like what she hopes to be, an onion like actress who can keep surprising us with different layers of acting.

JYH did surprised me too and I think he did well against JNR despite not having much acting experience. OIB is definitely a challenging role and I’m looking forward to his performance.

PS: Yes, IB’s sidekick is Kang Hong-seok, the guy from What's Wrong with Secretary Kim and Hotel del Luna.

Netizens found out a piece of information in the contract, in fact Ji Ah is 4 years older than In Bum , i don’t know to post the image in this post , sorrry

    In Bum : 04/05/1995, Ji Ah : 27/02/1991

Lol. Yep, I saw that too... I was also amused reading that they have no problem with the de-aging  of JNR by 10 years and are convinced so by her visual hahaha...

But it’s obvious that they need a Noona relationship here for the power play and to take lead so I’m not surprised that Ji Ah is older than In Bum. Just simply amused that both leads are de-aged for their roles and the k-netizens reactions to that little details.

I seriously don't know what Jang Nara has to do to get a Daesang. The Last Empress is the top rated drama on free TV with a lot of hype as well. She is the hot favourite this year but SBS opted to give it to the leads in Shall We Kiss First. She was one of the favourites last year but KBS didn't even give her Top Excellence. What the richard simmons?

    5

Actually, I would think that the fact that The Last Empress lost because it's just half-way through the series... No enough material to convince the judges for a straight win I guess. We haven't really gotten much of Jang Nara's character growth yet as of now. But she has been showing hints of potential so far... If the drama was scheduled for 2019 Awards, then she would have gotten the Daesang for sure.

  10. Hello friends,
Still waiting patiently for our dearest Hyo Jin ssi's productions to be released..
Since I have previously done a couple of KHJ Characters vids, a challenge was issued to me to try match up Ji Hae Soo and Tak Ye Jin by a China fan in bilibili recently... An interesting idea which I have never considered previously, and I thought I could try...

So here's the end product for all of you to see... Have fun~

I thought there was a JJang thread. Not sure. I usually don't go to couple forums. I love them onscreen together though! <3

Hmmm... I might have been too late then, coz when I was checking through the listing, I didn't see any...

Anyways, here's another with a play on the idea of 3 lifetimes, reincarnation and Go back time... XP
O-O, my player was playing that song and a little rabbit plot just got stubborn and decided to burrow into my muse to work it out...

I'm no video editor but it's fun trying to tell a story with video....

Hope you all will enjoy watching as much as I have plotting it.

  12. Oh wow.... It makes me feel that I am so late.... XP

I have just finished watching my second reruns of FTLY yesterday and was feeling love for our snail couple but shocked to learn that Soompi does not have a Jang Hyuk Jang NaRa couple thread... So I thought I will just post the aftereffect of my not so perfect product here instead... Freshly off the oven with nowhere to share the love.... :(

In case anyone wonders, it's a mixture of SSBG, FTLY and OF scenes... I thought that will really sum up the historical value of our beloved JangJang Couple... Since not many K-drama couple can claim to have worked together 3 times... :)

Whether it has a happy ending or not, I think it's pretty open-ended to me. I hope that you will enjoy this as well.

  13. Hello everyone,

I'm here again to make some noise and contribution to this thread...

    So I rewatched <Fated To Love You> and <Go Back Couple> recently...

and thought that it would be a fun thing to try to do a couple of edits.

And an old song of Jang Nara brought back memories of how I used to love this song...

After taking time to read up on the translated lyrics, I just can't decide on which series I want to use it on....

I intentionally wanted to use a JNR song for my edits coz many people know of her as an actress now,

But I just want to pay tribute to her singer origin, plus I really like this song... XP (I'm repeating myself)

So I created two... Hope you enjoy it!'

Video: Go Back Couple - Choi Ban Do & Ma Jin Joo (Son Ho Jun / Jang NaRa)
Music: Perhaps - Jang NaRa (Album: My Story)

Video: Fated to Love You - Lee Gun & Kim MiYoung (Jang Hyuk / Jang NaRa)

Music: Perhaps - Jang NaRa (Album: My Story)

  14. Hi Everyone,
I have read so much about New Non-Stop 2 from this thread but haven't seen it yet...
Anyone of you can point me to the direction with sub? I know MBC has most of it up on Youtube without sub...
But I really hope to be able to understand them and to watch the full series instead.

I would be most grateful to anyone who can point me to the right direction. Thank you.

  15. Hi everyone! I am still trying to scoll through the 345 pages of history when It just came to me that I have never introduced myself before... I hope I am not too late being the newest kid on the block. I'm from the sunny island in SEA and not really a big Korean fan... Another favourite K-actress of mine is Gong Hyo Jin. But Jang Nara is always the first Korean artiste I liked and started following through the years...

Ok... to be honest, I started out being a fan of singer Jang Nara than Actress Jang Nara, I have the full collection of her albums and First Story and My Story are my favourites... Dream of Asia is also an interesting album... Strangely enough, my favourite songs are often those penned by her. Yes, she is a songwriter, another aspect of her which is lesser known. She writes lyrics for her songs but it was not often and widely publicised. Eg. 혹시라도 in My Story and 흉터 from Dreams of Asia. (I have a soft spot for singer-songwriters... lol)

Though I collected her mandarin albums as well, I still prefer her in Korean but some songs such as 飛不起來 is also pretty neat. I am amazed by her by her ability to capture close to 90% of the Mandarin words correctly and that's really tough for a non-Chinese. I don't have a deep understanding of Korean, but Nara is the first Korean singer who made me felt as though I could understand her whenever she sings. That's is why I was so impressed by her back in 2008. I started late and by the time I completed my CD collection in 2012, I was crushed to hear that she stopped singing due to anxiety. She may not be the best singer with the best ability but I strongly felt that her ability to portray emotion outweigh any others. The ability to communicate the right emotion to others despite language barrier should prove that she is a capable singer. So I hope that I will get to see her onstage again. Healing Camp broke my heart when I learned that she went through so much in the short span of time... And I am amazed by her personality, always polite and kind, but at the same time sad about her low confidence level in her own abilities...

Hmmm... I was never a big fan of singer-turn-actress / idol-turn-actor kind of artiste, simply because there were too many of a disappointment to even try to respect them. Each to their own craft I guess, while there are some who are truly multi-talented, not everyone though. So when I first learned about Jang Nara as an actress, I took it with a pinch of salt. Expressive enough to be considered a worthy actress, not woodish like most. She is not afraid to put aside image and tries her best to get into roles but not the kind of subtle acting I look for in professional actresses. So for many years, the idea of Jang Nara acting, didn't quite make an impression lasting enough on me. Especially when it is obvious that the poor girl has been boxed up by producers to play silly, bright, mischievous roles repeatedly. The industry was not looking at her ability but rather framing her with her cute image, and forcing her to be trapped in acting limbo. It was until 2011 when BFB came out, I started to see the kind of subtle acting I wanted to find in her breaking out. She is still trapped in the babyface image, but she is tearing away from the bonds that used to held her firm. Following repeated successful attempts in School 2013, FTLY, Mr Baek, I Remember You, One More Happy Ending and the latest Go Back Couple, I could really see her improvement over time. By now, she is already a full-fledged award winning actress, certainly one of the few excellent ones of her age. So, I was once again sad to learn during GBC that our Nara-ssi doubted herself and her ability as an actress. It shouldn't be that way but judging from her roots, it's not hard to understand well. She was tossed into scene by fame and was struggling with expectations for so long that had slowly eroded her confidence in her abilities. It hurts more when we know that in K-world, preparation is everything but she was never given the choice or chance to prepare herself.

It is with a heavy heart that I decided to be more active, in hope that together with other fans, a stronger voice will speak out for Jang Nara and allow her to believe in her abilities be it singing or acting and support her to become the best of her abilities. Alright, it's getting way long and it's time to put a full-stop to this endless talking... Catch you guys soon!

  16. Hello everyone,

Well... since my hard-disk crushed on me, I have been trying to re-download most of my Nara collections (if possible)...

If you happen to have any varieties or videos on Nara-ssi to share, I would be most thankful to you...

Well, just as I am re-downloading series... I have finally managed to complete the JangJang Couple collection with The Success Story of Bright Girl, Fated to Love You and Old Farewell. So I will present you all with this little video I have created. Hope that you will like it!

Jang Nara is currently reviewing the offer to headline drama "Dog, Witch and Me". If she accepts the offer, she will play an arrogant, visually-impaired former cellist.

The script will be penned by rookie writer Yoo Jun-min. Jo Su-won PD of Pinocchio and I Can Hear Your Voice was previously attached to the project (back in April 2017), but has since withdrawn.

No word on the station nor the airing date though. I think it was slated to air on SBS, which will make this JNR's first SBS drama since Bright Girl if she decides to star.

Definitely glad to hear that she is reviewing scripts now. And from the way it sounds, this drama seems more than your usual romcoms. It looks like after GBC, the industry is relooking Jang Nara in another new light by offering more challenging roles than the usual cutie pie damsel in distress leads. I got to agree with Jang Hyuk that she certainly has the acting chop for challenging roles as can be seen in GBC, but often overlooked due to her sweet meek youthful image. Hope that this will be a great start to more challenging roles for her! It would be good to regain and build up her self confidence again.

  18. Erm... I do see that there isn't many topics on Jang Na-Ra in here despite her currently airing drama. So I gonna try to say something here.

I think I am one of the rare few who recognise JNR as a singer than actress, coz I used to have all her albums before K-pop became international. While she is not one of the powerhouse kind of singers, She definitely knows how to pack an emotional punch to her listeners... so even if I know nothing about Korean, I like her soulful delivers.

Saying that... I do watch her dramas and while she has done well, she is often trapped in tailor made role, which taps in a lot on her cuteness and playfulness... recently her youthful looks.

But it was in recent years having catch her Chinese production and recent Korean productions, I have realised how many she has grown. She is truly a multi-talented artists whom I hope to continue seeing on screen and hear about! Hope to see more people noticing her for her talent and effort!

Hey Yamie! Good to see you in this forum :) [check your PM]

Same as you, regret that I m a late boomer too, only started watching IOTL in 2016 and went crazy over her. Since then I have completed Master's Sun, Producers, Jealousy Incarnate, The Greatest Love. Now moving to Pasta!

Thanks for sharing the MVs, see you around! :D

IOTL is the best... hahaha~ I totally adore her in it~  I can rewatch it a million times and still love her  to bits...
But i gonna recommend Thank you too~ It's an Aids theme serial in 2007... And it's incredibly touching.... with Jang Hyuk!!!

I heard that this is the game changer for her coz before it, she was always being casted in bad girl role....

I will rate it as a second favourite and side along with MS.... (TGS is too cute... well... Pasta's Seo Yoo Kyung is also the cutest.... hahaha~)
