They should make another drama on dong hau dijun. How he become the master of the universe. That would be epic.

A lot of fans will be thrilled like a stand alone book all dediacated for Donghua...hope Tangqi is reading this...I would say Donghua's( character in the novel) is to be considered an iconic titular role...I think there is more story to tell because his character is so mysterious and even his origin is vague...can't deny that a lot of fans are thirsty and want more...❤

The problem is they didn't release the cuts as teasers per se. If you follow closely, the scenes were inserted into various interviews. The boat ride were inserted into interview with the costume designer and Reba's. Other cut scenes were inserted into other BTS. Fans are eagle eyed and once they saw those clips, they would expect them to be included in the broadcast. So yes, big blunder either way.

Regarding the 60 eps overseas edition, Weibo is buzzed with this rumor. I have seen a lot of posts but so far, we just don't know. The Korean version have just started broadcasting so all we can do is wait. I do hope somewhere there will be an uncut version.

I also saw a rumor on Weibo. By rumor I meant just that so don't take it too seriously. Someone posted that ELOD production actually filmed enough materials for 70 episodes. The first few eposodes were supposed to be about DH and his 72 generals battling. That is why we saw those leaked.pics of a young Dong Hua. Someone posted a question to the actor playing BY (FJ's father) and asked if they filmed the battle scenes. He said yes, they did.

So, the materials have been filmed. Although they did initially planned to release only 60 , so even then a lot of scenes would have ended up on the cutting floor anyways. By reducing it even more to 56, we can only imagine how much have to be edited out.

Would love to see DH and his legendary 72 generals...Im curious to what DH is like during prehiatoric time and battle...I think he's  a different person back then...I want to see the ruthless Donghua before my eyes until he united all the realms...

  3. My question that keeps boggling in my mind is, what is really Donghua's true form? They said it's a rock but I don't think so because he just sprang in the blue seaout of nowhere though in aranya's dream when he was fighting with the serpent he transformed into a phoenix and sometimes a dragon. I just concluded tht since he's the master of the universe he can be anything he wants to be.

For the latest clip boat scene, I feel there is a bit of disconnection. BGG mentioned that TaiChen palace is not as beautiful as BiHai Cang Ling. Based on the ending ep56, I assume BGG was all the time in BiHai Cang Ling, isn’t it? How would he knows about TaiChen palace? Also, isn’t the current resident of TaiChen palace is QingTi?

Perhaps my brain is not functioning properly due to the withdrawal syndrome! :joy:

They said in IG the reason why Donghua doesn't want Gungun near FengJiu its because she's pregnant so I deduce they already have gone to Taichen Palace...just my analysis but maybe there's much better explanation than mine...:D as for Yingti he didn't dare to be the successor of Taichen Palace as per Tangqi the author...(someone said...when they translated the outakes and bonus Dongfeng treat)

Can someone help to shed some light...

FG was wearing DJ’s ring when she was sleeping/recovering from the battle. The ring was flashing in purple and her finger was moving after BGG meting DJ scene. Does the ring flashing in purple means that she is going to wake up or because DJ’s heart moved/happy since he has a son now? The ring does made up of DJ’s half heart.

I think it moved because the two most important forces in her life already meet...so when her fingers moved it is the time that she's about to wake up...(based from the conversations it was already 3 months from the day that they defeated Miao Lou).

  6. P.S

I love Vengo's final interview...he knew Donghua too well...I think he was still in character when he was adressing fans on his final message...(He knew that the novel and Donghua's character are quite popular in the fandom universe and has a cult following).

I love it when Vengo said everyone has a chance in love beacause Donghua in his lonely millenial existence found one...he is really a romantic dork...

  7. It was bitter sweet watching the last two episodes...I can't help but think they seemed like Mr. and Mrs. Smith when they were battling Miao Lou...except that they are wielding swords instead of guns.

I have to say that they defied destiny and came into conclusion that they really worked hard in those three lives and three worlds to be together and destined...one couldn't say the other one didn't love as much as the same...Both were even. Siming even said it...( he didn't know if Fenjiu is a misfortune of his majesty or the other vice versa.)

I'm happy with the boat scene it was a better closure as a big fan of the novel...

Thank you for all the translations and informations...please update us every now and then on Tang Qi's specials and book writings (Lotus steps and Bodhi Vines)... I will never forget Donghua nd Fenjiu...

Hi i love all your insights about the drama...i read all your comments on the other forums...I felt that Donghua was highly amused to BFJ when she cast them away with her tricks...so he played along when BFG mistakenly thought he was Migu...then it was funny when he remarked to BFJ to just pour in the tea on her if she wants to be a total mess... "..."

  9. I agree with some fans that the mortal realm in the drama shouldn't have taken 5 or more episodes but instead should have included the most important parts in the book...I deduce that they just want to promote or debut the actor YiYingti and have more exposure(though I love his acting he made an impression on me). Some important scenes that should have been translated were sacrificed. If they just want to establish BFG debt  to Yingti reason why she wants to get the pimpon fruit...it shouldn't have taken that long...I concur that the line where Donghua said his famous line, "I never feared destiny and I don't need it's charity..." would have been an epic scene..

  10. I have just watched ep 53 and 54...these scenes in the book are the poignant phase of their relationship...

Jiheng was so selfish not far from Su Jin's character...I think girls who harbor and fancies Donghua should know that...Donghua doesn't like damsel and distress girls. Somewhere in ep 52 or 53 something when Lian Song was curious what made the stoic and cold Donghua be so in to Feng Jiu...It was when Feng Jui was making her scabbard for the Hexu sword that Lian Song thought that although some  girls would loved to be spoiled and pampered...BFG was different from the rest...She is a heroine in her own right who is independent, tough, amusing, child woman, knows household chores (cooking, sewing etc) and has her own thing and career ( monarch). Donghua even said though he was the jealous and possesive type of guy he won't restrain her on what she loves doing best or decision. Donghua knew that she picked the right Empress and it's worth the wait all along...

@ces8 haha. Before FJ, he just never met a girl worth his time and energy. After FJ, he is definitely making up lost time!

DH is indeed beautifully flawed. He is like many chinese main male leads, who tries to solve everything on his own and does not communicate with others. But his shameless behaviour and sharp comments are at god level. I do like how he adapts quickly and have the skills of a natural player!

It certainly helps that Vengo is gorgeous to look at.

Yeah you are right Vengo embodies Donghua perfectly...

  12. Thank you for all the sub epilogue chapters...silent lurker but I must say...Donghua Dijun is one of the novel characters in the universe that I can't forget not to mention master Yuwen Yue of PA. I'm a big fan of the book and his character was flawed but it was well written...It's the ubiquitos question circling these days..."Where can I get a Donghua Dijun.."  "..."

This page and forum is really a bomb...It's my place of peace and zen amidst the corona brouhaha...truly greatful to each and everyone...

On the side note...I just couldn't imagine that Donghua being a desireless, emotionless ancient diety and having attained single one mindedness, is actually a pervert and has a voracious appetite of (you know what I mean ). It dawned to me he knew those things way before since he's very good in Buddhism...he should have also read Kama Sutra and is well versed to it theoretically...:P:lol:

The actor who played Takashi Mori is really good. I mean i hated his character a lot lol

I'm looking on his name in Mr. Sunshine's Wikipedia but it's not included there. His name is Kim Nam Hee...I agree he played his character well.  He's such a psycho.... Hope to see him in other dramas.

I'm glad that they showed the back story of Hotaru and Dong Mae but I'm still waiting on the story of Hina and Dong Mae. I mean when did their deep and complex relationship start.

@lilyphenix- I love your interpretation on how the ronin boss freed Dong Mae. It just perfectly make sense specially when the boss said, "You now have something you cherish above else" and slashed DM to make him fall in the abyss ...I think ronin's at that time too had a code to follow. Sorry I keep mentioning DM - I'm a sucker of these type of characters portrayed in a drama or movie.

Aeshin cant lie and hurt Eugene all the time. I think she will go with him to fulfill her promise after what will happen in Japan (he'll probably save her again :/).

She has to pay off the debt and spend the rest of her life with him. If she does not understand it, she is an emotional vampire.

If it does not happen, writers could destroy her character. There is a border between when you fight for the homeland (sacrifice) and the promise you make to the person you love (especially when you use this person, this love destroys him, I'm starting to wonder if she loves him the same way)

There is no denying that Ae Sin loves Eugene but this are trying times and war is brewing...It may look that way, that Ae Sin was going to use Eugene to pull the impossible mission but (from what I understood...personal Interpretation so I may be wrong) the day when Eugene's life was spared and accepted to be an instructor in the military academy...Ae Sin and Eugene are already comrades (secret ally)...the scene with Go Sang Hong and GDM is also a testament when the grandfather explains why Eugene has to be the one to kill Mori. Furthermore the scene in the bridge when Eugene told Mori that he just made up his mind and will kill him. So I think Ae Sin went to Eugene as a comrade seeking for aid...well Eugene's response is of personal and as a lover...I cannot blame him...their love story is really complicated blossomed in a world of chaos but I remember that Ae Sin mentioned that if love is just limited to one then no different love stories can be ever told. (something along those lines)

  16. I remember back in my college days with my siblings one of my sister would go in the streets to rally and my mom would be so worried because they are abducting and torturing students and label them as one of the rebellious group in the mountains...Watching Ae Sin holding a gun, my sister's words back then keep ringing in my ears, "You don't understand what revolution means..." I think it's the exact same scenario in the case of Eugene...In one of Ae Sin's conversation with Hina after her hair was cut she placed her country first in the Hierarchy when she was telling the important things in her life thus the motto, "Country first before anything else..." justified and explains it well.

I have to give the writer and director a big round of applause...the drama not only conveyed the story telling in the dialogues but it was also translated visually...I place this drama personally as a contender with NiF franchise...

The heroes and heroines in this drama are often talking about sad ending BUT I am betting my two cents that there is always sunshine after the rain.

Historically South Korea and USA are very close allies...they even called it, "The relationship forged in blood..."  I think this line says it all for the upcoming and final episodes...
