My mother also watch R88 with me because she wants to see Bogum kekeke...She's one of Bogum's biggest fan now hahaha...

Heck yeah!!!! Tell your mom I said 'hi'. :D We're all in this together. :D

I'm not even going to comment on that "Kyodo News" picture. Ugh... :dizzy: The color palette, the pose, the posture, and everything else. Beautiful.

And i don't think Bo Gum is a sport person but we might be wrong. he was a swimmer before. hahahaha

Darn it! I forgot about it!:( That's right. I should've said it differently. He doesn't seem to be the kind who can do sports out of the blue, like for a show and stuff. Some people are really good at that (sports) kind of stuff, no matter what it is.

Can you help to post the link of Maquia and Haruhana magazines? I could not find it. Million thanks in advance.

Yes, ma'am! :) (Don't know if there's a way on here to make it look prettier instead of just posting the link. :))

    The article in "Maquia"

On a side note, Bogum doesn't strike me as a sportsperson.

you are lucky that you could talk about reply 1988 with your mum.. i could not able to  convince my mum to watch it but i still talk about bogum with her henever i get chance.

She's not opposed to watching stuff that's not in the language she speaks, and I was brought up the same way. (It was never a forced activity, though, or anything like that. It's just how it works.) It's not her first drama either. Frankly, it's like any other TV series/movie/etc. Obviously, I don't show her all the dramas that I watch. I limit it only to those that I believe are exquisite. To those that I know she will appreciate to at least some extent, as in she will appreciate the acting, the story, etc. So, basically I choose from those that are already preselected by me out of everything else on the basis of "not a standard". :D (Doesn't have to be in Korean.)  However, I'm digressing here.

Going back to R88, there was en evening when she came back from work, and she was really tired. (We usually watched it in the evening.) She said, "Would you mind if we skipped it tonight? Although I love them all, and I even miss them." Not to go into too much detail, "Reply 1988" was a drama that I knew she would like (at the very least) for various reasons. When I saw it for the first time, it reminded me of my childhood and the way I grew up. There were many similar things. I knew she would definitely pick up on those. We've discussed scenes and re-watched them so many times.

As a fresh example, several days ago we were watching a drama, and there was a kiss scene. So, I said, "Oh, my ship is sailing." We chuckled, and then she pointed out, "But our people are better." At first, I was a bit confused, hence I asked, "Our?.. Who?.." She gave me the look that basically said, "Do not tell me you don't know who I'm talking about." And I immediately figured out, "Deoksun and Taek?" :))

Also, Bogum is the first one whose name she remembered right away. She calls some people by their character's names (not necessarily from R88), and at times that applies to Bogum as well. Yet, I don't remember anyone else (from the dramaland) whose name she got just like that. *snap* I was telling her something about someone or something else, and she went, "Well, Bogum [...]"

  5. Great writing, awesome directing, wonderful performances. That's R88. It's beautifully crafted. Down to a tee. There's only a handful of dramas like that, and I mean Korean, Japanese, and Taiwanese dramas. I'm an avid fan of it and an advocate for its brilliance.

Thanks, @onlysb1, for that picture.

Yay, Bogum has friends! :)) That's nice to know.

Don't even want to talk about TNGT. Ugh...:D

  6. My favorite Bogum scene in "Coin Locker Girl" has to be the one where she pushes him against the wall, and that facial expression of his! Awesome. (Such a heavy movie. The way they drag him away... :bawling:)

As to R88, I've stopped counting how many times I've already re-watched certain scenes, (Has seen it twice in its entirety.) My mom quotes it, too. In Korean. :))

According to above link , if the news is correct ... it seems bogum declined the offer of "Ansi city" movie ...

If this is true ... that's too bad coz actually i want to see him to act in this movie ... BUT ...i will trust his decission ... just hoping the best for him ..

And he was like, "Nope, in00022, not this time." :D

    Bogum declined Ansi City?

"Reportedly, the starring role had previously been offered to a number of other actors, including Park Bo Gum and Lee Byung Hun, who all declined."

Ok, now I'm starting to feel bad for those involved in the production. I have to say, though, that things tend to work out for the best when casting takes so much time.

And hello to all the newbies, lurkers, etc. I'm the one who is all about #AppreciatingAllofBogum :tongue: You know, from head to toe... :))

Exactly. You're my kindred spirit! :D

I'm glad Bogum joined the "Air Kiss" campaign. For a good cause. (I wonder why he didn't nominate anyone.)

  9. Those piano photos... Ugh... The first one (with that light) is gorgeous. Saved it to the designated folder. Hoping for more of this at other fan meetings.

(Still not quite ok with the whole "university autograph" thing. He might be happy and all, good for him, but that doesn't mean people shouldn't be considerate of him in return, or simply considerate of him. Moreover, it bothers me when some ask for autographs without being fans of that particular person. In other words, asking for an autograph not because you know that person's work by heart, but because you would like to display it on your Instagram page and stuff. Ugh... Anyway...)

saw your post and comments make me smile

    That's good to hear! :)

I'm glad that Bogum is taking the time to study and do whatever else he needs/wants to do. That's awesome. What I'm not so excited about is the number of people who are after his autograph. For Pete's sake, have some common courtesy, even though he's kind. Don't abuse it. The dude came to the university to study, that's not a autograph session.

As to his choice of the next project, as long as he doesn't make that choice on the basis of success (just for the sake of it), I'll be fine with whatever.

  11. After reading that Soompi article about them placing second, I decided to do a quick drawing. (I'm sure the ones who are in the know will get the gift box with "I love you" reference.)

At the time, I stumbled upon a couple of their scenes that actually persuaded me to watch "Reply 1988" and see what the drama was all about. (I wasn't against it though.) Needless to say, I'm a huge fan of this drama and Taek & Deoksun in particular. It's one of those cases when people are amazing at portraying their characters (individually) while matching wonderfully with each other. They look great together. They play off of one another really well. It's a win-win.

Like @badukstone, i would just skim through a show if it's not good plotwise and acting-wise, if only for the sake of looking at my favorite actors.

    *high five*:D

Oh, Taek & Deoksun, my lovely loves. An overflow of my emotions, gotta get a grip on myself. :vicx::D

And there we go, another video of Bogum & the piano... Love it! I bet I'll love it even if he just stands next to a piano without doing anything. :D

As to the Bogum Magic, that thing really does exist. Incredible but true. :D

  13. Here's my take on it: just choose something and start watching. :D You can always skip to the next episode, skim through a drama/movie, etc. I'm not the type to watch a drama/movie that sucks just because my favorite actor/actress/whoever is in it, so I'd watch bits to assess his/her acting. (For educational purposes, so to speak. :) ) That's something I'd definitely recommend, and that would be the case with Bogum's character in "I Remember You". Lee Min is worth looking at, even if it's only for the purpose of seeing Bogum at the opposite side, which is something we won't see for a while, I think.

@ccube3 I read your message and went to look for that ad. Well, what can I say? People at TNGT are evil, and so are my fellow Bogummers here. :D

Sometimes I just watch MVs of it especially with Dear Cloud's song.

    Amen to this.

(One day I'll go back to my grad school days and write an analytical paper on Choi Taek because this character and Bogum's portrayal of him deserve every single praise they get. Subtlety, nuance, and greatness.)
