Hello everyone, I can't believe we have reached the last episode ... This drama on an emotional level, really reshufled me, I felt a range of emotions, hate love, anxiety, fear, respect, nostalgia, anger ... Much of the credit I think is due the great emotional acting of Bogum, but also Sodam, that I must say that gradually convinced me , making me know a character in some ways elusive, but really profound ...
We are at the end therefore, we still do not know what will become of our two leads, while we have a clue as to what Haehyo will decide to do ... I'm sorry I had so little faith in him in so many episodes but in the end he really moving me ...
I still believe in the happy ending ... Life is hard and difficult and this drama has introduced us to some aspects of it ... The words of Chalie Jung, who died in solitude, are a demonstration of this ...SpoilerBut I would like the happy ending because the drama must continue to make us dreams...

Hi everyone, it's still night in my country but I know many of you are waking up ...
I finished watching Episode 14 and I have to admit I've changed my mind ...
Hae-hyo and Jung-ha aren't that bad in their respective roles as Hye-Joon's friend and girlfriend. ..are human!After all, the super girlfriend or the super friend don't really exist ...
Hae-hyo and Jung-ha often see each other and dating, but they know how to set boundaries like when Jung-ha refused Hae-hyo's hand to wipe his lips.
That of these three guys is not the classic triangle because Jung-ha never questioned his relationship with Hye-joon and Hae-hyo never intended to cheat on his friend. Of course they made mistakes, mainly dictated by a lack of sincerity, but they are youthful mistakes, not a betrayal ...
Hae-hyo is not bad guy, maybe just immature and spoiled, he really accidentally fell in love with his best friend's girlfriend ... and maybe, indeed for sure, sometimes he is in trouble and embarrassed about it towards his friend... But so he likes Jung-ha's company so much who deson't hesitate to lie to Hye-joon and uses moral blackmail (pointing out the favors he has done to her over time) to have some time to spend with her .. this is not polite or elegant, but acts on impulse, probably showing all his immaturity, which is even more evidenced by the comparison with Hye-joon...
Jung-ha is definitely not the classic woman in love taht we see in the dramas... she has no heart-shaped eyes and does not allow herself to be commanded or treated like doll ... She's smart and independent, not prone to sentimentality, but very much respectful of her boyfriend, perhaps too much, because she never asks him for anything ... She is proud of him and tries to support him by doing her best, but she is unprepared to manage her emotions, her rationality and irony are often a personal shield of which she serves to prevent their to get way too close... Someone (I also did so) criticized her for inviting her friend into the house at night, but she herself realized she was wrong... Nobody is perfect... He left Hye-joo just to protect him, and knowing he wouldn't agree, prevented him from arguing ... she leaves with his usual melancholy smile ... maybe she won't even look at him ... but the life has hardened her towards love ... I'm sure their love story is not over...In this episode I really enjoyed the newfound relationship between the brothers in the Sa family ... and the family theme was central throughout the drama ... Hye-joon realized he could rely on his family and Jung-ha only relies on herself ...
Record of Youth proves once again a never superficial and courageous drama and I am proud of it and I understand why Bo Gum chose it, he wanted to leave for the military service, leaving something that could make us reflect and improve ... If he wanted, he could have make a romantic comedy like many others, even successful and forgettable in my opinion, lui could have done it, but he chose Record of Youth. Chapeau.

The 12th is an episode that confused me and at the same time clarified some things.
Jeong-ha loves Hye-jun and is walking away from him because she is afraid of causing him trouble. Towards Hae-Hyo she feels only gratitude but somehow she feels that she can talk to him about everything while with Hye-jun she can't really communicate.

Now it's time for Jeong-ha to show that her feelings to him aren't just fine words. If she back off of him again, then their relationship will be over ... But i if she decides to take sides with him, their love could still triumph. We have to wait for tomorrow's episode to understand what she will choose to do.-

Hi everyone, I've read your reading of the final scene of 12th episode...
I do not deny that I did not like what apparently anticipates.
Now, I am open minded, I have male friends, whit which I went out even when I was as a girlfriend.
But every situation is different, the reality in which Jeong-Ha lives is not mine. I wonder how a girl of her age could be so naïve, hhow she didn’t understand that behind Hae-Hyo's attentions there are feelings that a loyal friend shouldn't have towards his best friend's girlfriend...
She seems to live in a world of her own: she accuses Hye-Jun of not telling her immediately about the interview with her ex, but in turn she never reveals what she really thinks and feels to her boyfriend. And let's not talk about the ambiguous relationship with Hae-Hyo, of which she looks not have awareness.
We now come to the scene we are talking about.
Hae-Hyo went to get her (or she called him), it's raining, it's night. Can you explain to me why she should invite him in? Because she lives alone, it is dangerous and compromising to have a man in the house at night, because she already knows that people's chatter has already hurt her boyfriend a lot and then... as someone noted... if the scandalistic photographer was still lurking in front of the house her?I am disconcerted by her action but even more by Hae-Hyo's disloyal and ambiguous behavior, who has no scruples to seek his chance. In that scene he really looks like a predator.
I fear that in all this it will always be Hye-Jun who will suffer, to whom I honestly do not attribute great responsibility in the distance that has been created in their relationship. Basically he cannot behave differently from how he is behaving. In every way he tried to reassure her about his feelings. Maybe contrary to what Jeong-Ha's voice says, it is love that is not solid if faith falters.
My hope at this point is like yours, that the director shuffles the cards, that she decisively rejects Hae-Hyo and clearly mark the boundaries. I add, that afterwards she tells Hye-Jun everything, also confiding to him her feelings.
Again, I cheer on this couple and wish to see many more passionate scenes between them.
Monday's episode will also be special for another reason, because with Hyeri's cameo one of my favorite couples of all time will reunite on the screen. I can't wait.-

The realistic portrayal of the entertainment industry stories is one of the aspects that strikes me most of this magnificent drama. I read someone wrote that it is too obvious a story and I wonder if they looked at it seriously, nothing is obvious in the drama, the story is complex, the characters are all well described and the attention to detail is great. Starting with the relationships between the protagonists, because there is no classic triangle, the friend is neither good nor bad, the girlfriend is sweet but often keeps her emotions to herself and Hye Joon now is a top star but not as happy as he could have been, because his life is even more complicated than before, even if he no longer has the problem of money. He is honest and keeps his word. He is attentive, his feet are always on the ground and yet in friendship and love he seems too naive. Or is he less naive than he seems? What if he got off the plane seeing Jeong Ha's call?

Loved her Cameo and their chemistry. I hope they can act together again. We have seen many actors interact with our Hye Joon and all have left their mark on the drama, a show within a show.

yes, there were beautiful action scenes, but sadly few romantic scenes, maybe we were loaded with expectations for that bedroom scene. However, the awards gave me almost as much enthusiasm as those with Bo Gum as protagonist

Good evening everyone, I just finished watching today's episode and I want to leave you my impressions. I really like this drama, it adds something more to Bogum's career, it not only allows us to see him in multiple roles in the same drama, making us appreciate his talent and technique, but also describes what goes on behind theglossy showbusiness world ,showing that really not all is gold, there are rivalries, envy and wickedness. I am obviously rooting for Hye Joon, who like Bogum has a pure heart, and I hope that his love affair with Jong Ha will not be affected by media pressure, by the mounted scandals. To both, actors and the characters, I say: FIGHTING!
A special greeting to our golden boy who is in the military: congratulations on your performance. i hope it gets rewarded like that Hye Joon's in The King Returns, even if you won't be there to collect the award

Some might think that it was easy for you to play Hye Joon, but I don't think it was really easy to keep yourself detached from him, while at the same time acting completely immersing yourself in that role during the filming of the Wonderland movie. You did a really good job, I'm proud to be your fan.

I loved every one of his characters: Taek's sweetness, Min's frailty, Yeong's determination, Jin's sensitivity ... are just some of the qualities that made the palpiting heart ... Sorry for my foray into your paradise. I read some of your last comments and I wanted to say something about it.
My feeling is that sometimes you do not have the full perception of how important Park Bo Gum is for Korean culture ...
I'm European and I'm not a fanatic of k-dramas or Korean actors ... I approached this world a little thanks to the proximity between some dramas and the japanese manga, of which I am an avid reader since I was a child (in my country all the children have grown accompanied by japanese anime) ... I have never seen, and not I'm not even going to see, some of the most talked dramas, nominated in this latest discussion, like TMTETS, DOTS, TLAGG, they have plots that do not excite my curiosity and, even knowing the actors who played in these dramas, they do not have never aroused my interest either from a physical point of view or recitative... Then.. One day, three years ago, I accidentally came across in "I remember you" (Monster) and I was literally kidnapped by the character of Min and by the actor's interpretation, Park Bo Gum... It had never happened to me before... not with a asian actor... Also I noted he has a very rare beauty... So I started to care about his person (of Bogummy) and his work, to understand who he was, I saw his other dramas and at the end I loved all his lead roles...
.. after, I started to follow him professionally in other fields... the music (I already booked Bloomin on Amazon), Music Bank, for example, or Hyori's Homestay...
SpoilerToday I find myself here, after having attended another forum, always because of him and I say: Park Bo Gum is a national treasure for Korea... He should be protected... He is such a talented actor... and a person so charming... No doubt, today he is successful and is known... Sometimes I happened to ask informations about him to ladies or Korean gentlemen met by chance and everyone has spoken so highly of him, not only because he was handsome or good at his job, but also because he has a good personality and polite manners with everyone, so represents the ideal korean man... The Boyfriend/Encounter drama may not have had the highest rating of other dramas, but, being a romantic drama, without a lot of emotional issues or special effects, broadcast on a cable network.... and with some interesting intellectual games... I think it was a success!!And even more I think it's a success the cultural influence it is having ... I hope I can soon go to Korea to visit those beautiful places or read the translated books that Jin Hyuk read...

Park Bo Gum is a model of man and artist, must be loved and respected ... They could produce a dvd with ng, bts, removing the most romantic scenes, for me it would be unpleasant, but it would still be the director's cut dvd of one of my favorite dramas. I hope they change their mind and maybe do it later. Also because there will be the request of the other countries and they will have to satisfy it.

Good morning everyone, I am a great admirer of the talent of Park Bo Gum, as an actor above all, but also as an entertainer and artist in the most general sense of the term... When he chose as his second drama, like male lead, "Encounter" with Song Hye Kyo, I was excited and worried... I was afraid it would be a risky choice, because of age and the status of married woman of his co-star... Until now, I've only known SHK, I confess, when I first heard her name by Lee Min Ho, another actor I greatly admire, who had said he wanted to act with her. I did not see DOTS because I did not like the genre...
Here, now I'm here to tell you that deep down Bo Gum was right again and his choice was really courageous but at the same time right. He chose quality... because Encounter is a masterpiece of its kind. He chose the opportunity to grow as an actor by learning from a veteran like SHK, which I found perfect in her role as well as very beautiful. And in fact I think that Bo Gum with this drama has managed to improve further ... He is really a natural talent to enter the character, that allowed us to love him. ... I add that I am sorry for the criticisms, few fortunately and infinitely unjust: PBG and SHK I think they were aware of it from the beginning and deliberately chose to challenge prejudices and go against the current... A round of applause for their choice!!!Returning to talk about the drama, I loved it so much, from the rhythm, slow and relaxing, to the soundtrack, to the photography and colors, from the supporting cast, to the protagonist couple...
There is much talk of chemistry these days, but I think that in some cases this term is used inappropriately.
I believe we can talk about chemistry between two actors when they can make you forget their names in reality and make you focus only on their characters...Personally, I do not care if two actors are in tune out of the screen ...And I like that there are only a few Bts of Encounter (perhaps a forced choice) ... JinSoo is a couple to love within the story, only then you can get carried away by their love, that grows more and more until that final confession ... The line "Don’t be sorry. Thank you for being brave" reminds me of another more famous movie than many years ago, "Love Story", I must say that the writer makes so many literary and cinematographic references which are difficult to remember or notice, he was also really good ... but he could be more
... Because sixteen episodes seem very few ... I wanted to see our couple struggling with the path of Santiago, for example, and I wanted to see them as a husband and wife, deal with everyday life .. and the slightest glimpse inside that room at Cuba would have been nice.. ps I respect the candidate actors for the 55th Baeksang Arts Awards, but I don't understand an award ceremony for tv acting without a nomination for what is the best Korean actor, in my view, the only one who pushed me to subscribe to a platform to see and review the his dramas... I hope they give him some recognition and anyway I will see every part of the boring ceremony only for a few moments of Bogummy as MC

... Because sixteen episodes seem very few ... I wanted to see our couple struggling with the path of Santiago, for example, and I wanted to see them as a husband and wife, deal with everyday life .. and the slightest glimpse inside that room at Cuba would have been nice.. I will be going against the current about the evaluation of the final episode... given the high quality of the script we could not expect a final kisses and hugs, an unlikely encounter... but instead it was a final of growth and maturation of our young protagonists, which saw them face the biggest challenge , that of responsibility.
The responsibility that Jeong-ha took for example, who want to end the relationship with Hye-jun to help him in his career and to pursue her dreams... Or that of Hae-hyo who decided to enlist and thus take back his life...
Or even that of Hye-jun who has decided to enlist, risking to compromise his career, in order to end his twenties and enter thirty more confident of himself...
It is not an open ending that of the protagonist couple as someone can thought... she wore the shoes that Hye-jun had given her, a sign that she had never stopped thinking about him... and he was happy to see her wearing his shoes, sign that hadn't forgotten her... So they resume arguing as if those two years had never passed ready to start a story between two more mature and aware adults...
I cried at various times while watching this episode that really moved me and I'm sure that next week, when it will be broadcast with subtitles in my language, I will resume seeing it from the first episode, because already miss these guys so much...
I would really like a second season with the same actors, one that unties some knots, like Hae-hyo's unrequited love or a star's difficulty in having personal relationships ... or the night in the bedroom of the two leads..
... and yes, I also think they cut it due to the resumption of the pandemic ... what a pity!
