Personally, I think with the older games, they've explored almost all possibilities that can be done. When they do old things, people complain, when they do new things people complain. So it's almost a lose/lose situation for them.
I think for them to go forward, they HAVE TO try new things to see if they'll work or not. If it works then they can always revisit it later and start changing it up. Some of the games can only go so far in concept while others have been explored in several different ways. Namely name tag.
I mean lets look how they've done it
Regular team vs team
Attacker vs. defender alternates
Multiple team
Complete mission first
Last man standing
Last man standing with Super powers
Figure out how to eliminate
Find the name tag
Time travel
Spy
Double Spy
Triple spy
Timed release

If they wanted to they could just be doing the original variation over and over again. But then it'd end up just like any regular sports game. It'll get repetitive. Only instead it's the same people playing each time. It changes up when there's a guest but again, that only goes so far. -
Would anyone happen to know the song that was playing in 159 just when everyone was arriving at their first location?

I'm sad. It's almost always the 3rd crew that has the best last performance of the show. Kaba Modern, Fanny Pak, Hype 5-0, and now Phunk Phenomenon.
But damn, IaMmE's last performance was quite possibly the last final performance I've seen ever since Quest Crew's. And it felt like it was the longest one too. And up to this point, I have no figured out what sets Iconic Boyz apart from the other crews.
IaMmE better win this.

It's starting to wind down and we're in it this week with the Biebs.
1. Street Kingdom. People wanted to see Krumping + Bieber and they produced. And they produced HARD. For the first they were able to give choreography with KRUMPING. WOW. And it was suuuupper clean. I didn't notice it the first time but the Noodle diss at the end had me rolling.
2. IaMmE. I think this was the groups personal weakest performance but still better amongst the remaining crews. I think the glide circle was gimmicking though because they were basically stepping side to side as opposed to gliding and it didn't look all that great.
3. Iconic Boyz. An alright performance. They should've used actual basketballs. The D-trix soundbyte won me over though.
4. Instant Noodles. I may hate them but this was a cool performance. I was hoping for more chairs but they were able to do good with what they had.
5. Phunk Phenomenon. Clean performance. I didn't think much of it. I think it was safe.

I guess no one likes this show because it's not Asian infested haha. Looking at the crowd, it was straight up white girls in the audience. I laughed haha.
1. IaMmE - WOW. That was SICK! The skating and the lean was one of the dopest things I've seen in a choreo. I really hope this crew wins. And sorry for being a guy, but my heart got broken when I found out that one girl's only 15 ahahh. I thought she was at least 20. Either way, she's hella smooth in her moves.
2. Iconic Boys. They really redeemed themselves this week. The close up of the big boy had me busting my balls.
3. Phunk Phenomenon. Solid performance. Taking choreo back to the basics and doing it well. Their bboy (Bebo?) is really keeping them alive. And D-Trix isn't lying, he's currently one of the best bboys I've seen. I mean..HE FREAKIN' JUMPED OVER A GUY WHILE DOING A FREEZE!
4. Instant Noodles. I really do feel these guys are the cancer of the show. I just don't see what others do. That being said, I did like this performance. The best I've seen them ever do. But I don't recall them ever doing their challenge.
5. 787. Good performance but they didn't really fulfill their challenge.
6. Street Kingdom, as much as I love this crew, this was more of a duet performance. But the duet portion was dope. It showed that Tight Eyez can really dance. The camera angles REALLY screw up the viewing. I couldn't see CRAP.

Weekly reviews
I'm torn between which final performance I liked more. Street Kingdom or ReQuest. I'm really pissed that MTV had to be stupid and go top view for the 2nd wave. That thing was meant to be view from the FRONT. But after watching it twice, I had to give it to Street Kingdom. With a song like ET, they were free to be all over the place and be alien about their movements. This is so far the closest that they were able to show the world what krumping really is.
And so.
1. IaMmE. Now that was sick. The peel off, although similar to ReQuest's cloning challenge, was executed in a much better fashion and looked really sick. It was more of a fan out but the mimicking of moves was dope. And they kept their challenge going throughout.
2. Street Kingdom. Read above.
3. ReQuest... somewhat took went an easy route with the performance itself, but the challenge was awesome.
4. 787. I liked how they used their injured member. And in a pretty creative way.
5. Iconic Boyz. They didn't really do the challenge. And it was a simple challenge. The rest of the performance cool, but not fit for competition.
6. Phunk Phenomenon. Loved them last week, was meh on them this week. Seemed all over the place.
7. Instant Noodles. I don't know what the judges saw but that was not a clean performance. And they didn't really do it smart. There was nothing firework about it.

The Office isn't The Office without Michael Scott. I loved the opening credits nod with the Dundie trophy.
I think the previous episode would have been more fitting as Michael Scott's last episode. The Rent cover was very heartharming.

1. Phunk Phenomenon had to be the best of the night. I really liked how they switched between players
2. ReQuest. This is more than likely a tie because this was awesome too. There were some parts where I couldn't tell who was who.
3. Footworkings. It's too bad they had to go because this was sick too.
4. IaMmE. The beginning was pretty eh but once they started getting into the intricate stuff with the gears and on point with the sounds, then it got dope.
5. Iconic Boyz. A fun performance. I think all the glowy stuff made it look cool.
6. 787...cool way of teleporting but it was pretty meh.
7. Instant Noodles... I'm a video gamer and I like bboy but I thought it was pretty whack.
8. Stomp Kingdom. I was pulling for this crew but they wasn't much that they could've done.

i dunno if request should be qualified to be on ABDC..not to be racist or anything.. but it IS AMERICA's best dance crew..
I really think it's a copout when people say it's AMERICA'S [insert name here]. Especially when America is basically a melting pot of all cultures. Sure they may not currently be living in America, but did anyone complain when the Canadian and Puerto Rican groups were in? I personally think it's cool that they're opening it to outside crews. Gives the group an opportunity to break out and gives viewers a look at what's OUTSIDE of the USA.

Based on the opening number I was pretty meh towards all the group. As the show progressed, IaMmE, Request, and Street Kingdom are my current top.
But looking at the preview....kids? REALLY?

One of the versions will be awful to everyone. Tekken players will hate SF x Tekken, and SF players will hate Tekken x SF. Which is why it's actually pretty brilliant that they're making both games because they realize that there's just no way they can make one game, and appeal to everyone.
I'm more of a Tekken fan but I'm REALLY excited for SFxT. It's probably because I've been wanting to do something different with Tekken characters. T6 didn't blow me away as much as T5 did. It sort of felt like a step down. Like a mix between T4 and 5 whereas 5 felt more like 3 and tag.
Anyways. Here's an interview that MarkMan and I (Neil Aguilera/shortboy) did with Tekken director Katsuhiro Harada, and Tekken game designer, Michael Murray.

Wow, mel, didn't know Soompi was around for that long. Then again, that was when the whole k-pop boom started here in America. Ahh... the good ol' days of Music Video Heaven/MVH on The International Channel. Please tell me I'm not the only one that knows about that?
And to go off what you said about the boom period, the majority posting in this thread, to us, 2005-2007 was our boom period. That's when we were highly active. 2008 members pretty much witnessed the end of it but still held on as they were starting to get into the culture themselves. I feel bad for the newer members because they don't get to experience what we did during our time. But hopefully it all does come back some day.
And yeah...where did the HTML codes suddenly come from? Forum BB codes look so much more cleaner. Hah.
I also must mention that during the beginning of the forum change, I could not for the life of me navigate through the new member profiles. I also do not want to see Soompi on facebook and elsewhere. I preferred seeing Soompi ON Soompi and no where else.

To me, I see the forum changing as the K-Pop industry changed as well.
My activity on here severely died down when the variety show X-Man was canceled, so I no longer really had to be around to sub the show anymore. Plus, from the looks of it, the majority of people that have posted in this thread alone are the ones that have been here for at least 3-5 years now. So to say, we're growing up.
Maybe the forum facelift had something to do with it too, but our interests have just gone elsewhere. I occasionally still pop up to read current event stuff but that's pretty much it...haha. Soompi in a sense is dying but if it does, it's gonna be us oldies that'll stick around and make this our own mini getaway haha. This has already happened to me on another forum I go.. Place severely died down but the regulars stuck so it's just become a kick it spot for us hah.
I also find it funny that someone mentions that threads in the general no longer have deep conversations and yet this thread has suddenly become deeper than 90% of those threads ahahah.

very very noob question here, you can laugh at me if you want, i don't really care, but i'm thinking of buying the ps3 120gb slim, coz i'm freakin tired of that xbox 360 coz xbox is like so yesterday. well anyways, just wanted to know what exactly is the 120gb used for ? is it used to save games onto the console ? if so, do any modifications need to be made for saving and playing games onto the consoles hd ? and ummmmm, if it is possible to save and play games from the consoles hd, how many games on average can fit on the hd ? and one last thing, i take it since the playstation now has it's own hard drive, things like memory cards are no longer needed ? lol sorry for all the questions, i'm technology illiterate.
oh and uh, if anyone's from australia, would you happen to know if the ps3 120gb being sold for $469 at jbhifi is the cheapest you can buy for brand new ? it only includes the console and controller as advertised on catalogue/website
The HDD is primarily used for save data, and game utilities (essentially their cache so that the game loads faster). It's also used to save demos', bought Playstation Network games, videos, music, and pictures. The game utility avg's about 2-4gb. That's if the game requires it. The back of the case usually tells you how much you need. If you want, you can also upgrade your HDD.

I blame the media for jacking things up for them. I felt like there was a lot of he said she said and many people jumped on it without a lot of truth. It sucks that word got out before those on production were able to properly inform the cast. But at the same time I think that pressure from higher-ups to push things forward could also have been a deciding factor that made things so rushed.
And also, I'm laughing because there were a lot of people that kept complaining before that the show sucked, they should change, new members, blah blah blah, and now they're all sulking at the fact that Running Man is coming to an end.
