sorry to cut your post but i got curious and looked him up myself. and it says he's the largest shareholder of jyp stocks-32.18%. it's ridiculous to say he's just a producer. when someone owns that much of the company and people say he has no part in this whole 2PM situation then who does?
while he may not be the officially known CEO i wouldn't be surprised if he was.
32.18%? WOW, no JYP is NOT just a music producer. He still has a lot of power. I have to agreed with those that showed some anger with JYP going out clubbing while 2PM is in just a mess. Not pointing finger, just my personal opinion since we are all allowed to have our own personal opinions.
-
Okay guys, unless someone that reads Korean knows the answer, it seems based on information provided in English, JYP is still the big man, the CEO so HE is the person we are waiting for an answer from.
Future Pop-Executives Portfolio Written March 2008
Also he's Youtube homepage stated he is the current CEO, link followed from JYP USA official homepage.
Edit: dorkyhottestthai..., see my signature? I am helping you look for him too! hahaha

I don't think it's as simple as if he wanted to go back to Korea, he could've gone back as easily as that. JYPE might say that it's up to him, but that's just them trying to neglect their responsibility imo. Like I (and others) have said again and again. A music contract is nothing to sneeze that. It is not Jay's choice to break it, unlike what JYPE tried to make it seem. It's up to the record company, if they want to let someone go or not. Jay has no say in it, because he would not have enough money/power to hire lawyers to get out of a contract. Jay not coming back to Korea, I think, is directly connected to JYPE. Unless JYPE let Jay come back then he can't, even if he wanted to.
Thank you for reiterating this again. One thing we must all remember is that MUSIC CONTRACT especially in Korea gives the music management a lot of power over their artists. Jay can not leave just because he wanted to. someone from upper management had something to do with it.
I've been reading different things, some people are saying JYP is just the producer and not the CEO yet I've also read that HE is the CEO. So, if he is not the CEO who is? According to info on his Youtube page he is the CEO.
Edit : Also on Wikipedia it stated he is the current CEO/Producer. So if somebody has the updated information please let us know. Thanks

I don't know if anyone posted this yet..but sorry if did
JYP about JaeBum's return to Korea
JYP Entertainment speaks up about 2PM leader JaeBum’s decision on whether he will return to Korea, “He has not said anything.”
JYP representative responded on MBC ‘Happy Day’ aired on 14th September about the question to whether JaeBum will return to Korea, “JaeBum’s decision to go back to America has nothing to do with the company. He has not spoken about what are the future plans.”
credit: kbites
So, JYPE is actually leaving the decision to Jay? JYPE is basically saying it was Jay's decision to leave Korea and it is his decision if he wants to come back? Hmmm.....can we say....it's smelling super fishy in here? Anyway no finger pointing. The only thing we can do is continue to support and continue to believe.

Thanks Sue for translating BTS 23. I hope that our girl in the midst of doing her movie....take time to look at scripts etc. too but next year. I really like to see her in a movie, I don't think she's been in one yet. August rush was just a few seconds cameo....so does it even count? I want her to have a meatier role. Looking forward to her next project.
-
Thanks for the clips, pics and info! I really like Ara's character here. I totally love her in "Who are you" and she's doing a great job here too! Loving her mixed and matched outfits!...though she's nowhere near looking like she's 26!

What s K-hottest plan after boycotting? if JYPE still keep quiet..wat will they do next?
I just wish to see a good news...we are all sad enough these days.
i just wanna know if Jay knows about the boycotting or not?
if he doesn agree...wat s he gonna do?
i just wanna know wat s his mind...Y_Y
miss him to death..
It seems the boycotting such as merchandise, anything related to JYPE etc. the boys' activities will continue. I don't know if they will hold another silent protest but Khottests did a awesome job yesterday. The organization was amazing. I hope to see future silent protests until we hear from JYPE.

Pop idol Park Jae-bum, the leader of 2PM, put himself on an airplane heading to the United States as if he were ordered to leave Korea for this controversial remark, which some people perceived derogatory toward South Korea.
While the controversy is still unfolding, Hankyoreh Sinmun on Saturday ran a piece that pointed out the lack of understanding in Korean society toward the Koreans abroad, who are second or third generations, born to a Korean family there.
Park, for instance, grew up in Palisade, a town in New Jersey that has one of the highest concentrations of Koreans in America. The young Koreans there tend to display the trait of "Twinkie," a term indicating Asians in the U.S. who make great efforts to assimilate the mainstream American society.
"Their identity is closer to American than Korean," said an unnamed Korean in the piece who currently lives in the U.S.
The problem is that although these individuals regard themselves as "Americans," the American society doesn't regard them as such because of their Asian-looking appearance.
Frustrated, some Twinkies turn to a "negative joke" towards their parents' country.
"Among Korean Twinkies, there is a culture that if you don't look down on Korea, you are regarded as a nerd," said a Korean blogger in America. The 2PM's seemingly pejorative remark on Korea can be understood in that sense, Hankyoreh said.
Most young Korean-Americans struggle through their adolescent period about their identity and eventually choose one. And the more one lives near a mainstream white American neighborhood the more the possibility he chooses to become a Twinkie.
"In general, the Korean expatriate community respects each individuals' choice," the piece said.
Park Jun-kyu, who teaches at South Korea's Chonnam University and who himself is a 1.5 generation Korean-American told the newspaper: "The term Twinkie is a symbol among young Korean Americans who struggle with their self-identity. The Korean society in a sense overacted to Park's remark, which he made long time ago. The Koreans here took his remark as an 'attack' to the Korean society."
Since Park's debut in 2008 the group has become one of hottest pop syndromes in Korea.
But Park fell in hot water for remarks he made in 2005-2007 on Korea, which belatedly became public. He allegedly said, ``Korea is gay. I hate Koreans. I wanna come back (to the United States)'' on his social networking Web site Myspace, enraging fans.

Edit: Maybe it's just me but I have issues with the way this article is written. Also I thought Jay grew up in Seattle Washington?

I like that she wore such casual clothes at the fan signing. Beautiful in casual clothes and no make up! I'm wondering if the over size checkered shirt...is it hers or does it belong to someone else? The shirt looks so big. Thanks HS fans for the clips, pics and FA.

I'm with k-HOTTESTS NO MATTER WHAT they r doing and will do...
after watching all those post-its clips and audio message for Jay, I truly understand that their love for Jay AND 2PM is as great as ours, and of course doing all those activities must make them suffer a lot. It must take A WHOLE LOT of time and effort. and you guys should understand that they have to act FAST bcoz they need a official reply from JYPE and they dun want to wait till the public forget all about Jay
we're heartbroken and so are they, and i assume some of them maybe, just maybe, suffer a lot more than us, bcoz they had actually seen jay and 2pm and did many things with the group...
so, now, I'm with you, K-HOTTEST, I will support you because I believe in your great love for 2PM and for Jay!!!
K-HOTTEST, hwaiting!!!
I LOVE what you wrote and just wanted to add in my happy dance 2 cent.
We are making a differences! Post it notes, videos, letters, twitter, you name it...we're making our voices heard and JYPE are FORCED to listen. USA for NYC Post it...Let's show how International hottests do it!!!!
Also just knowing that Jay's pic is back on the Dream concert...it means fans are making a movement!!!! Let's all Walk together and keep supporting and keep the faith!
Edit: kiwiflavour, very well written and I completely agreed with you. Let's keep fighting until the very end.

Found this on KBS GLOBAL NEWS:
Fans of the idol group 2PM have been stepping up their protests against Jae-bum's resignation as a group member. Jae-bum has quit 2PM because he has stirred up controversy for messages criticizing Korea that he had posted while preparing for his debut.
Internet users have blasted 2PM's agency, JYP Entertainment, for making Jae-bum leave the country just four days after the scandal broke out. 2PM's fans have blanketed the agency's building with posters opposing Jae-bum's departure. They are demanding that JYP explain the situation and are sending dozens of emails to media agencies.
2PM's fan site "Underground" has expressed anger toward JYP, saying that it would launch a campaign discouraging people from buying tickets to the 2009 Dream Concert, where 2PM is to perform without Jae-bum, as well as from buying the group's albums and accessories. They are also demanding refunds and threatening to stage boycotts.
More than 100,000 fans have signed a petition in protest of Jae-bum's departure on the Internet portal Daum. JYP CEO Park Jin-young left a lengthy message for 2PM's fans on the official Web site on September 10. He wrote that when Jae-bum first came to Korea four years ago, he used to be a rebellious and undependable boy, but he wanted to earn money because he cared a lot about his family and changed profoundly, after his debut, into a responsible leader of his band.
Park went on to say that Jae-bum could not continue his singing career any longer and that was why he did not ask him to stay. Park said what mattered the most at this point was not Jae-bum as a 2PM member but as a person, because he needed time to reflect on himself.

Let's all stand united despite our disagreements. We have to have faith at times like this....all hottests...LET'S WALK THIS ROAD TOGETHER. Just like 2ONEDAY mentioned it doesn't mean we support, just that we understand...and stand united.
I am re-posting this message from 2ONEDAY : .
To all International Hottests,
Many things happened in the past few days that have taken a tremendous effect on us and on the One Day community. However angry and confused we are at this moment, we respectfully remind you that unification, love, respect, and reason are needed at this time.
We realize that there is much dissatisfaction towards the efforts of our sisters and brothers in Korea, but we hope that you can understand or reconsider their reasonings.
Many Korean Hottests have communicated their reasons for the boycott on popular fansites. They explained that if 2PM continues to do well with 6 members, then there will be a higher chance that Jay will be unable to rejoin the group. Furthermore, they stress that by making 2PM’s success (without Jay) difficult, it will force JYPE to keep Jay’s path back to 2PM and to Korea open, very open.
2ONEDAY acknowledges these reasonings because we were told that these are, in fact, real serious concerns for Jay, 2PM, and JYPE; however, we express our apprehension to the boycott, knowing the other members’ situation and respecting Jay’s decision.
Despite our concerns and worries, 2ONEDAY realizes that unification during these times is most important. We will continue to make strong efforts to strengthen communication and unity between all Hottests around the world, in hopes of being able to work together as one in the future. This is ultimately the reason why we opted to release this statement.
2ONEDAY only asks all international Hottests to keep an open mind with the efforts of our friends in Korea. They are only doing what they feel is necessary. They also cried with us. They shared our pain. They also suffered, perhaps more than we have. We honestly believe that they are only doing these with the most sincere hearts and with hope that Jay will eventually be back with his brothers.
2ONEDAY respects Jay's decision. Nonetheless, we will continue with all of our efforts to bring him back or to keep his path back to Korea open, due to our promise to 2PM. We promised that we will help them to get their hyung back.
2ONEDAY prays for the restoration of Jay’s emotional and physical health. And, at best, when he is ready to return, we hope that he continues with 2PM. We also hope that the rest of 2PM, 2AM ,and others close to Jaebum and 2PM that have been affected by this issue to stay strong.
We thank our Hottest for their continued understanding and support. Thank you.
UPDATE:
2ONEDAY is not asking you to support the boycott, but we are asking for you to UNDERSTAND where kHOTTESTs are coming from and to see their point of view. A little understanding of their perspective is enough to show a united front. Just understanding. Not to misunderstand their sincere intentions.

although the article seems to make all the events connect..i don't think something fits.
Why would someone from Cube(jyp sister company) rat out JYPE? I mean..that's basically risking his/her job and that person also revealed their job title...which is like stab to self.
Because IF the information provided is true, someone from the inside know what they (JYPE) did was WRONG and the only people that can help in situation like this are Jay's and 2PM fans. Reading all the comments, articles etc, especially comments from Jay's friends in the US...such as Jay will return if the circumstances permit etc. are the missing links to why everything happened in just 4 days.
Edit: Regarding the Korean show '시사토론' (Opinion) will be broadcasting a show about Jaebeom., I hope they get all the facts right before spurting nonsense...don't want the whole situation to escalate!

im not sure if anyone posted this yet. (yay for passing 1000 pages )

Thank you so much for sharing the link. My eyes teared up again when I read this from his Korean high school friend.
"Sometimes he would show everyone his B-Boy skills during break time, or he would just burst into rap or beatboxing in school. When I see that I wonder how long he practiced to do all this things so naturally. And the huge blisters on his hands are the scars of the tough training he underwent. Jaebum was especially sensitive to the mistakes that he made so I have an inkling of how he must have felt when this whole thing blew up. To this kid who still doesn’t know Korean culture very well suddenly becoming a hot issue on the internet, where countless of reports and rumours are written about him, showing the bad side of the netizens and how Koreans blow things up, he must have been really guilt ridden about this whole issue, afraid that he will ruin 2PM’s image, afraid that it might leave scars on the 2PM members who were as precious to him as life itself. I can imagine the fear that kept piling up within him the past few days. That’s why he left the 2PM members whom he loved and treasured like life itself. "
When you're ready Jay....we will wait for your return.
edit: lorip, if what you translated was true then I can understand why K-hottest took the stand they did.

LUCKY SE7EN, noticed that I did not post his yt channel because I do not want another one of Jay's friend to close their YT account. I thought since we're all wondering if Jay's doing okay that it'll be some kind of comfort to know he is doing okay (from someone that actually knows him) and that he knows we're supporting him. If you happen to know his yt channel please do not spam his YT account (Thanks!) It's enough to know that Jay's doing fine.

when was this posted?
after jay left, or before...?
and i think it was just a rumor that the girl was a shinee fan...
but i could be wrong.
This was actually post TODAY just 3 hours ago.
I went to facebook and saw the new pics of K-hottest post it note and it was amazing!!! They covered up almost all the space! let's pray for a big turn out in NYC this Saturday and cover up USA JYP's wall!

This is a post one of Jay's friend post on Youtube. Fans he knows we're supporting him, let's continue to stay positive and continue to show him our support.
Friend's post
Like i said on the other videos everything my homie Jay said was 5 years ago. when he moved out there it was a different experience and he was just homesick. it was purely being an ignorant 18 year old in which he has already apologized. of course he loves korea, he loves his fans country and gained a whole new appreciation for the culture. Jay was telling me yesterday that the only thing saving his career right now are his fans. show some support and cut the dude a break hes only human

no problem! Sorry I forgot to credit you for the translations before >__<" but I agree with you, the words that comes out from her especially based from her interviews is just really inspirational "Goo Hye Sun's Words Of Wisdom!" that's why I randomly thought of making that pic for other people to see and maybe they can get inspired, be determined on what they want to achieve and also think positively towards life just like HS!
Thanks for making the pic and thanks Sue for the translation. I am definitely feeling inspired and remembering her words whenever I'm feeling down. It's quick simple yet elegantly putt and easy to remember!
-
TaiTsuki , thank you for that heart felt response. I completely agreed with every word you say. In the end...all we can do as a true fan is to support. Continue to support by showing him he is loved unconditionally.
-
I remember posting a few pages back about HS's hair and someone said it was hair extension. Noticed she has the same length hair in a few new pics and was wondering if it is really hair extension or did our girl's hair really grew that long? She looks absolutely gorgeous with long hair!

I posted this in 2pm forum but ill do it here too
His friend ,who like all the postings are from, posted this on his youtube 41 min ago
"dear everyone. jay came home safely. he's actually napping behind me. i've received countless emails concerning this situation. the honest truth is, even though you all support and love him, the situation doesn't allow it. please respect both his and jyp's decision. let him have a good rest while he's in the states. and if the circumstances allow for him to return, be supportive then. again, thank you for the emails but he needs time and so does everyone else. thank you everyone!
p.s. i don't think you're weird or a stalker for sending those emails. it's very heart warming and touching that so many people love jay. thank you."
We don't know what's happening right now. Let's wait. Read between the lines will give you more information.
-
Hottest, please ignored the TROLL *NoBreak92* even in times of pain, there will always be people wanting to tear us down and instigate...if you replied you are doing exactly what they want you to...so please IGNORED. We are all in pain right now but please do not give up hope. Let's support one another and continue to support 2PM.

For fans that live in Seattle, including myself, I have checked the Seatac Airport arrivals page and have figured out when Jay's flight will be coming in.
Considering the fact that the decision has been made, I think the best thing we can do right now is support Jay and give him a proper homecoming! Its a well deserved homecoming and I think he'd appreciate if all of us here in Seattle show him how much we care.
Flight Info:
Flight #19
Gate S-10
Arrival Time: 12:40pm
I myself cannot go out to support Jay due to work tomorrow, but if any fans who live in Seattle should definitely head out to Seatac and give him a proper homecoming!
This is the info for USA fans that can make it to welcome Jay.

Nichkhun will not attend Star King recording
The aftermath of 2PM's Jaebeom quitting and returning to America has been quite chaotic. With Taecyeon and Wooyong possibly retiring from their MC roles on SBS Inkigayo, now comes even more disappointing news.
It's been confirmed that 2PM's Nichkhun will not be attending the filming of the September 14th(today) recording of SBS Star King.
Star King's PD Bae Sung Woo informed Newsen today:
"Nichkhun will not be attending today's(14th) recoding of Star King. We know 2PM members are currently canceling their appearances from programs, however, depending on the situation, there is the possibility of change."
JYP Entertainment is currently pulling out 2PM members due to the emotional and mental stress of Jaebeom leaving the group. However, it is still unclear whether Taecyeon and Wooyoung will be pulled from their MC roles on SBS Inkigayo.

Do you guys noticed this too? There's a trend of writing in articles that gives mixed messages. For example "We know that 2PM members are canceling their appearances..." and "JYP Entertainment is currently pulling out 2PM members.."
Hopefully their will be some kind of results soon.
