    Argh episode 11 is still a relatively sad episode but the somber tone is lifted up a bit due to the humor from the other side characters... my fave scenes are definitely in the beginning where AS apologized to Eugene, AS and Hina fight and Eugene Domi korean lesson..

     

    I might be the minority when I said the beginning of ep 11 is one of my fav scenes.. I am sad that they are still separated but I appreciate the fact that AS apologized to Eugene in person... She seemed to be avoiding him for awhile prob coz she was ashamed and wasn’t sure how to act in front of him after the revelation... and I do think in a way, Eugene already knew this wasn’t going to end well which was why he was sorta MIA after the incident with that Japanese soldier but obv with AS being hurt by DM gun, that changed the whole thing... Eugene probably decided to tell AS of his lowly origin pretty early in the relationship since he knew it was definitely an issue and he didn’t want to make goodbye even harder for both of them.. I’d say it’s very comendable of him since it must be pretty hard to do... Rather than perceiving this break as a step-back in their relationship, I’d much prefer seeing this as a hurdle that both would eventually have to overcome to be able to have a future together... 

     

    Also that fight between AS and Hina in the end... job well done lol.. Cinematography is just killing it.. Slapping and hair-pulling get really old after awhile.. AS looked shocked when the masks fell but Hina looked as calm as the sea :lol: too bad the fight ended almost as soon as it began.. would have preferred it to last even 1 more minute haha

     

    And Domi!! Omg that cute little kid, so considerate.. Wonder if Eugene’s gonna adopt him or maybe Kyle even?? Hahahahaha

     

    I am typing this while sipping my boba milk tea so here’s to hoping for Ae-Shin and Eugene to get back together in tomorrow’s episode!! I like sad melo dramas but I still love happy endings!!

     

    P.S.: I am wondering if Eugene and Ae-Shin will end up becoming some famous freedom fighter duo?? Also curious if AS ended up taking Joseph’s letter with her.. maybe with her English being more advanced now, she’ll be able to read that “I miss you” in the letter and get jealous haha

    @Ahpheng - Those set of latest Eugene/Ae Shin pics are perfect material for your strips. Looking forward to see how you will caption them. 

     

    My heart would flutter like crazy if she indeed keeps the gloves, puts them on during her mission/s and smell them whenever she is reminded of Eugene. Being reminded of an absent loved one and smelling their clothes or belongings is quite the cliche TV/movie trope but I still love it very much.

     

     

    Lol I like the optimistic view... seriously though- when are we gonna get a kiss??? Arghh.. at the rate this is going, this drama might end without a kiss at all... sigh...

    Omg first scene of tomorrow’s episode already another teary-eyed goodbye??? I would have preferred a goodbye hug or a goodbye kiss rather than a goodbye handshake... they need to take this to the next level!

    AS and Hina during the duel. AS will go to the hotel and Hina will realize that the stranger has been slipped in again. Hina will pull off the mask and find out it's AS. EC appear at this momment and stop the fight. Hina pull of her mask and reveal herself to AS. 
     

    I think that AS wanted to say goodbye to the EC before the dangerous mission because she may not come back.

    He started to reject her and wants to go abroad and she dont want to give up and wants to stop him. She dont know that RA asked him for help and EC will be the commander of the unit (we do not know what is the mission but maybe it has a connection with Japan and the transport of weapons or something else that guerrillas do?). It seems to me that RA found out that the EC wants to leave Joseon and the AS is in a bad mental state and can die in action.

    Sometimes the series is predictable but there are still a lot of unknowns and hidden meanings. 

      

    
It is obvious that AS was seriously injured during the battle with Japan and this is her hand. This is the scene when Japan will want to annex Joseon with force. We will see this in a few weeks (episodes because historically it may be year from now) when the political situation will be close to the historical one.

    Hmm looking from AS point of view, I could understand why she did what she did...

     

    From her convo with her master, we know that AS wasn’t prejudiced against people below her rank— this was proven when gunner Jang mentioned how she kept on coming back to the hut even after being talked down to multiple times... but like her master said, it doesn’t have anything to do with her or what she thinks or feels, it’s just how the world works... AS might not care of EG’s origin but that’s not how others would see... I think AS decides to leave EG because she realizes that there’s simply no future for them so might as well part ways now to avoid further heartbreak... EG probably also knows of this as well, which is why he said to the Emperor that he’ll be leaving soon to avoid hurting someone... Guess we’ll find out what happens next week; time jump or not... 1 week just feels so longgg...

    What a sad sad episode... I am just floored... :tears: Episode 10 is literally packed with sadness... LBH’s eyes are so expressive especially in the scene where he asked Ae Shin if she’s shocked of what the nobleman had said or his origin.. if you look closely, there was that pause before he said the word ‘origin’ and it looked like he was choking which was pretty devastating to watch...

     

    Also I was hoping Ae Shin was going to save the excuse of returning the music box for another day when she can’t bear the separation anymore but nope, that hope was shattered...

     

    One scene that’s definitely worth mentioning is the scene between Eugene and the potter who saved his life.. It was definitely one of the best scenes in the whole drama and LBH crying under the hat was just heartbreaking... I don’t usually cry much while watching dramas but this scene is one of the rare moments that I found myself tear up... :tears:

     

    I think someone here mentioned the possibility of a time jump?? That’d be interesting to see... though I kinda doubt this will happen... One thing for sure is I am kind of scared of how this will end... the tone of the drama is serious and borderline sad now.. I really hope I am dead wrong on this one... I’d be really pissed if they don’t end up together...

     

    On a side note— how come Kyle didn’t bring back any gift for Eugene??? I thought he was just trolling when he said that... That would’ve been something that would cheer him up a bit... :unsure: can I also mention how smart everyone in this drama is?? They are experts at putting 2-2 together.. normally you’d see kdramas dragging on things like this so it’s refreshing to see smart characters who can figure things out quickly... hahaha.. Lastly, enough said but the cinematography deserves a stand-alone recognition for sure... All the scenes are just sooo pretty... :wub:

    OMG OMG OMG I am speechless!! Episode 9 is daebakkk...!!!! I am dying for tomorrow’s episode!! I literally woke up early on a weekend just to watch episode 9!! The ending is just sad though :tears: Eugene just had to tell Ae Shin at that time when they were enjoying some “date” haish.... and here I was hoping I’d get to see some more lovey-dovey moments between the two... It’s too soon for the reveal when there hasn’t been much of romantic moments between the two! Arrghhhh

    The only PPL I’ve seen so far in this drama is from Paris Baguette :lol: you could see their logo in the show... I wonder how their sales are doing ever since this drama aired.. MOST def don’t mind more scenes of Ae Shin eating pretty desserts, even better if she eats those with Eugene :wub: quick fact-check though- PB actually got established in 1988 according to wiki...

    I rewatched the last episode just in case I am missing something etc and I notice that Ae Shin was literally going back to the pharmacy so many times to wait for Eugene :wub: same thing in that last scene too... if you notice, it looks like she was rather disappointed when she didn’t see anyone there but OMG, her eyes literally lit with yearning etc when she saw Eugene... I am totally shipping these two :wub: who cares if they are 20 years apart in age! I initially watched this for Lee Byung Hun but totally staying for Kim Tae Ri now... girl crush hahaha... btw I was a bit surprised when show mentioned how Gunner Jang has actually been mentoring Ae Shin for 10 years??? Timeline is rather confusing... all this time, I thought she’s mastered the art of gunnery in a matter of months instead of years!!

     

    Ae Shin pls hurry up and study until alphabet K! :lol:

    Oh wow. I wonder if the Chairman is found to be sick later on? Jang Hyuk is such eye candy~ I could care less what happens to the company as long as Pil Joo ends up with Mo Hyun.. Just don’t let it end like Empire of Gold. Based on this writer’s previous works, it should end happily but dramas like this do tend to end on a sad note.. Let’s hope I’m wrong...

    I understand that Mal Ran asks what did Pil Joo did. BC seems to say "Now I'm the president, so Pil Joo" or something. Then Mo Hyun asks BC to stop whatever it's between them in that moment, but BC seems to beg her. Mo Hyun seems to ask Pil Joo to go with her somewhere.

     

     

     

    If I'm not mistaken, I think Boo Cheon said something like "I am the Vice Chairman now so I definitely won't lose to Pil Joo. I'm going to protect the Chairman seat" and then Pil Joo said "If the Chairman doesn't listen to me, he will have to go to jail."

     

    From the preview, it sounds like it might be the end of Boo Cheon-Mo Hyun since Mo Hyun said something like "Let's just stop here, Boo-Cheon sshi" and Boo Cheon said "I'm sorry Mo Hyun. Please give me one more chance". At the end, Mo Hyun narrated "Pil Joo-ya, let's stop everything and run away with me.." I could be wrong though XD

    OMG!! Chun Er!! This is just bad- I dont know if I want to continue watching now... so much sadness... I get Chun Er is naive but this is just frustrating.. I can't bear seeing her innocence destroyed in later episodes (in the cruelest posssible way too)... I understand why she turns evil later on... to think that XE was part of the reasons why this all happened is just making me angry at her...
