  1. @agenth True, we have no idea what Wook Hak/Chae Ho was like before his injury. Overall at the moment, though, he is more likely speak what's on his mind and you know, use words as a normal form of communication, lol. Meanwhile, Bo Geol is more likely to hang back and watch, and keep his thoughts to himself. He is more likely to quietly act than to narrate his life and the inside of his head. This is exactly what he was like when Mok Ha knew him in school as Kiho. His personality has not really changed at all. For all we know, Chae Ho could have been like that, too. It will probably be difficult for him to deal with all the memories all at once. On the one hand--what a relief he has had to have a break from that! But on the other--it's got to be a lot to hit all at once. It will be interesting to see how this affects him going forward. (But I hope he can still be a lighthearted person, because Bo Geol maybe needs that kind of balance in his life...) I have the same question? I went looking and only found clips of the preview for ep 7 with extended fan discussion. Do you mean something else?
  2. It's amazing how ratings rise when the show is actually on air! That said, I remember again how cute this show is. I wish they aired twice a week. Even though I read the entire webtoon while waiting on new updates, I still think that the drama version brings its own charm. Oh, and I have to give a nod to the visuals. The light and the color palette really are enjoyable to look at. I saw someone in the comments on Viki note that a lot of it is blue and yellow, which are the only colors that dogs can apparently see. So it's nice that someone thought about details like this when creating the drama.
  3. From the script's point of view, I don't feel like the core reason for the "who is Kiho" mystery is to create a love triangle or to relive Startup. (Although I see TVN still trying to capitalize off of it a bit? Just because it may not have been the original intention of the writer doesn't mean it hasn't been taken advantage of along the way in an attempt to build buzz.) I think it was simply as Bo Geol said: Woohak's memory loss gave them all a chance to take on new identities and get relief from the abuse they had all suffered. None of them wanted WH to have to be tormented by the past, and meanwhile, BG did not want his dad to follow breadcrumbs from MH to KH and then have their cover blown. But now that WH knows, they are all still going to try to keep Mok Ha in the dark for her (and their) own safety. I think this is a bit short sighted of them, since she can inadvertently get into more trouble if she is unaware of the danger. I also think she is already working it out (even Ran Joo thinks the "coincidences" are a bit suspicious). So yes, I hope as well that they don't drag it out. We know, and in her gut, Mok Ha knows, and that needs to come out soon. Let's clear the air and develop the relationships between the characters! As for any romance between MH and one of the boys, well, it's inevitable that if anything happens, it will be with Bo Geol. I don't think that's the main focus of the story, and I don't know how far down the path they will go with that plot thread. I think the important thing is that all of them are becoming her found family, and that KH as BG is still trying to help her fulfill her childhood musical dreams in any way that he can. Meanwhile, she also has relationships with WH and the parents, each in their own way, and she likewise is an important person to them. I feel like this writer is good at showing the love between different family members--both blood family and found family. So I'm hopeful to see more of that in coming episodes.
  4. Er, no. Woo Hak stands there at the photo and says, that is me. (Camera focuses on Chae Ho's face in the family photo.) Then he says, why is Bo Geol in the picture? (Camera then focuses on young Ki Ho's face.) The rest of the episode follows on this knowledge. They all knew this except for Woo Hak, who they were trying to protect and give a new life to. Now he knows, too. The only one who doesn't at this point is Mok Ha, and even she suspects (and Ran Joo agrees with her suspicions.)
  5. I wish this show was getting more attention. It's one of the best of 2023. SO GOOD. Watch it!
  6. Heh...on the one hand, I'm sympathetic to Kang Woo Hak and his past, but on the other...yeah, he is a bit annoying as well. I just could never see Ki Ho ending up with that kind of personality; he's the one who quietly watches from the back, and only speaks up when necessary. Actions speak louder than words. Also, he's more likely to tell you the hard truth you don't want to hear than speak comforting lies. So it's zero surprise to me that he is laying down the line on the lip synching. I think (given the preview for next week) that they may use the moment for Ran Joo to introduce Mok Ha--ie, she's so good that we did this little experiment, and everyone thought she was better than me in my heyday. So now we'll let her sing, and we'll both sing together, and you can see what you think. That kind of thing. Because in the preview, Mo Rae seemed miffed, like the event was turning into a debut event for Mok Ha. So...maybe they can still pull it off somehow, without the full weight of damage on Ran Joo? (In real life, though...that would absolutely be the end of her career, period!)
  7. Some really lovely moments in ep 15 (as well as some inevitable ones). My question is, when they go back to 2023, how long before they meet again? He left from Korea, just down the street, but she left from the US. Also, the brother will be shocked, lol. Pretty sure halmoni is no longer living in the present. I hope the tape survives, it will be so nice for Eun Gyeol to hear her voice again.
  8. I do wish they would spend a little more time with our leads instead of SO much screen time for Si-Oh. Ah. This makes sense! I mean...I think Si-Oh is an interesting character, and if anyone can reform him, it's cheerful Tschecheg. (sorry for mispellings) But with SO much screen time devoted to them, it's starting to feel like the Tschecheg-Si Oh show instead. For as "all over the place and over the top" as this show is, I still think it holds together better than the original show.
  9. Oh, that's good to hear! MBC keeps trying to post stuff to promote the drama, but about 102% of the comments are complaints about the airing schedule. Glad someone is listening (and I hope they never try this kind of schedule again!)
  10. @haruhi17 Not only did they have seamless casting for young and present-day Mok Ha, but the matchup between acting on young and current Ki Ho is great, too. There were several times in ep 6 where I was looking at present-day actor and directly seeing Ki Ho from the past. Just channeling that exact character. I love Ki-Ho. He is not always the most comforting person in the short run, but even when some of the things he says are hard, they definitely will turn out for the best in the long run. I'm a bit nervous how the whole lip sync thing is going to work out, cause that is no small peanuts, especially in the Korean music scene. But having the other singer pull a similar stunt may level out the repercussions somewhat.
  11. Ahhh what I've been starting to think about the two brothers turns out to be true! Also, at this point (even if it's not point-blank confirmed), it seems pretty clear which one is KH. I don't think the point is a shipping war or love triangle. I think it's the story of a family--or rather, two--or maybe even three units from that island, all of whom have pain and have tried in their own way to escape a less than ideal situation. You have Kiho, Mok Ha, and Rang Joo, and all the people around the who either have helped them or hurt them. I don't feel like the main point of the drama is so much on which guy MH will end up with as it is, how will all of these people protect and help each other? As I think the clues to Kiho's current identity have been laid out pretty clearly (despite attempts to distract from that as well), I really think the main focus is everyone's united focus on standing against the bullies in their lives and finally getting healing.
  12. I'll miss it, too. And yes, I think we definitely have some sad moments ahead. I am quite sure that the main point for Eun Gyeol coming to the past is not to prevent the accident that makes his father deaf, but to get to know his parents as people and not just parents, to learn that it's okay to live and not just be alive, and to understand them more. (He is still super responsible for his family in 1995, though!) And I still predict that his dad will lose his hearing in a way where he sacrifices himself to save or benefit Eun Gyeol somehow. And that dad will not regret it one bit. Heh. I am super curious how things will go when they get back to 2023, though. Like...hi hyung, I've brought my girlfriend home to meet the fam--whoops! Er. Awkward.
  13. Bread Song is one of the weirder characters I have met in a drama (oh yeah....) I really hope that Hwa Ja makes it and transforms into a better person and second daughter. Actually, I can see where a lot of characters have the potential to either use their powers or influence for good or evil, and it's up to them to make that choice. (Yes, even the main baddie! And not just because he's good looking; he's done horrific things and in real life I find him repellent, but in terms of storytelling and character development, the jury is still out on which path he'll ultimately choose. As Nam Soon indicated.)
  14. I did!! It's so nice. The YouTube channel VcLooping has a ton of great OST covers (free). I recommend if you play piano and are looking. This week's episodes were great. I was dying when Lots of really heartfelt moments in here, too. I love the relationship Eun Gyeol has with each of his parents.
  15. 3 Woo Young Woo 6 Yoon Seri ) 7 Naksu I honestly have watched a ton of dramas (just ask my family!), yet I've only finished about half the ones on this list, and can only stab at three of the questions, lol.
  16. I keep forgetting I'm even watching this drama, it airs so rarely. Dear MBC: please never do this again to one of your own shows. Yes, yes, sometime there are things that pre-empt one episode. But that's why a normal schedule is twice a week--that way it at least stays in the viewers' consciousness.
  17. Just finished ep 4 and regardless of the flashbacks and stuff, I am still even more convinced that Ki Ho is About the horse chestnuts--oh my, that's a fantastic metaphor. We have some trees down the street that shed these things and they look EXACTLY like edible chestnuts. I even gathered and roasted some once. Put my tongue on them to try them and they were so extremely bitter that I thought I should do a little research before actually swallowing. Yep. Horse chestnuts. (Also called buckeyes) Highly poisonous to humans! So Ran Joo...run. No matter how hungry you are or how many times you try them, they are not going to turn into something else. This is such a good show.
  18. Yeah, that was sad to see. I expected more from him. On the plus side, Mok Ha has a little experience dealing with manipulative, abusive people. And she's just survived 15 years on her own. I think on the whole...I'd rather have her on my side than not. She might be the surprise guard dog Ranjoo never knew she needed. Ep 3--I love you, Ki-ho. Five years later he's still going off to meet the singer to say please, hug her and listen to her if she ever turns up in front of you? Yeah. He's not going to toot his own horn, he'll be in the background watching, but that one is a keeper. 100% Ki-ho is Kang Bo Geol, especially given his reaction to hearing her sing that song (where the words came from him). But if I'm wrong, I'm still Team Ki-Ho, whoever he turns out to be.
  19. Lol, it will all eventually make sense. I'm currently reading the webtoon as I'm waiting for the show to update. I can read 4 episodes at a time on Webtoon. (So I still cannot just binge the whole thing--dangit!) There are some differences between the drama and webtoon, and I'm starting to forget which part I saw where. But this rule about turning into a dog--I think it will eventually become clear in the drama. Right now, she just needs him to get over his fear of dogs and kiss her while she's a dog. Then she can go back to being human all the time.
  20. If she ends up in a relationship with him, it would solve the dog problem. She kisses a guy once, she turns into a dog at night. She kisses him again when she's in dog form (and he's conscious and knows what he's doing)--it puts an end to the dog problem. She stops turning into one. Happily ever after! But this is only if this happens within a certain amount of time (I forget, is it a month?) If she doesn't convince him to kiss her while she's in dog form, then once that time is up, she will forever remain a dog, night and day. This happened to the uncle, who is now a golden retriever or something. The only thing is, if she kisses a different person after this, the whole cycle starts again. So, she needs to both stay faithful to the guy she's with, AND avoid any unwanted kisses foisted on her by others.
  21. Yesss, me too. I think Se Kyung (the 2023 daughter, I mean) is at least more socially aware than her mother. And we still have four episodes for her to resolve some of her issues. (That is the point of a story--for characters to grow and change.) I hope the daughter can help resolve issues with the grandpa; that's a plotline I started forgetting in all the other things happening. But Grandpa is a key figure who connects everyone, so we need to get that solved, too. Also I really like the music from this drama. I keep searching to see if anyone has transcribed it for piano, but no luck (at least, not the ones I'm looking for, especially Aalia's "About Loneliness.")
  22. Well...they are all self-absorbed to a point because they are all teenagers and don't have the maturity to see beyond their own experiences. And of course Se Kyung has a reason to be ticked at Eun Gyeol running off during their date. But of all four of them, in some ways I feel like Se Kyung is the most blind to the people around her. The others are starting to grow and change and develop more sensitivity, but her progress seems a little slow to me. I'm sure it's coming, that's the point of character growth. And I think that once she and Eun Gyeol are on the same page, know they are both time travelers and can team up on their goals together, she will be a major driving force in making things happen. One way that Eun Gyeol could grow would be to let go of the belief that the weight of the entire universe depends on him. I like him a lot because of his care for all of the people around him. But it's going to crack up if he keeps on this path, because he can't be in two places at once, and trying to save one person inevitably will make another person feel like he's abandoned them, as @larus pointed out. I like the idea of him finishing the song in 2023.
  23. Seriously?? Again?? I just went to Viki to see if the new episode (ep 4) was up (it is), but it says that ep 5 doesn't come out for another 2 weeks again. What the heck is MBC thinking? I see that the ratings have been sluggish (in Korea). Do tell. If your airing schedule is a drop here, a drop there, with weeks in between...you are sabotaging your own show. I feel bad for all those who worked hard on it and all those who are looking forward to watching it.
  24. About the homeless couple: it was so nice for Nam Soon to have friends right off, but there has always been something a bit odd about them. Now the guy wants to dump the girl because they don't need each other anymore? And he lost his money in bitcoin or something, right? Isn't that what the police are trying to chase? I'm feeling like he is part of their case somehow. (Which makes me a little sad, honestly, since I wanted them to be her friends. But I have suspicions...)
  25. I admit that by this point I am about to wring Se Kyung's neck. I get it that she has a lot on her mind, but she is not the only human in the universe, and people around her are actually going through some stuff, too. She's better than Chung Ah's sister, that's true. But hi, speaking of her and not her mother, Chung Ah is literally her only female friend in this world, and Se Kyung has been so self-absorbed she hasn't been able to see that maybe, just maybe, Chung Ah has something on her mind, too. Or maybe likes Yi Chan for real, not just as a bet or as a way to kill herself off? On top of that, the band likes her, and Eun Gyeol actually likes her, too, and is concerned about her as a human (not just as a way to win a bet). It is HIGH time for those two to figure out there're from the same time (especially since I hate for Eun Gyeol to keep thinking she's going to grow up and turn into weird Ahjummah). As for Chung Ah rejecting Yi Chan, I can totally understand her point of view. And he is still too clueless to realize she's the one he's interested. Poor puppy. But I have faith that he'll figure it out...
